Tangsuyuk
Grace H.

Nice spot for some jajangmyeon and jjampong. Love that I don't have to go to the South Bay when I want some Korean/Chinese food. Been here a few times but recently visited after a few years. Did a large to go order and our food was ready within 15 minutes. Our order was packed well and they added a lot of yellow radish and utensils which was nice. Service was friendly as well. The portions were all a bit small in our opinion. Compared to the Santa Clara location, it was a bit lacking. The food did taste good tho and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Overall, this place is good and I like the location. It isn't the best but it does have all the necessities of good Korean/Chinese cuisine so I'll be back. I recommend their tangsuyuk and jajangmyeon. Simple and delicious!

We got here and didn't have to wait but they can get busy. The food comes out pretty quick. We got Jajangmyeon, Jjamppong and half size Tangsuyuk. Everything was so good and my favorite has always been Jajangmyeon. The atmosphere was very homey and everyone was nice.

Stir-fried noddles

This is my son's favorite Korean spicy noddle soup place in town! I went there for the first time with him this past week and it did not disappoint. I ordered the stir-fried seafood noddle and he got his ususal spicy seafood noddle. My stir-fried noddle was full of ingredients and the noddle tasted very chewy which I like. The flavors was a bit more Chinese than Korean which I didn't mind. My son's spicy noddle soup looked good too but I can't eat that spicy. The restaurant was clean, spacious and the service was great. The bathroom was one of the cleaniest bathroom I have been to at a restaurant in a long time! Highly recommend this place if you love Korean noddles and other snack foods.

I've been to the South Bay location a few times, with the drive and the wait time, I was excited to get one in the east bay. There's plenty of parking at this location. We were seated quickly for a weekend dinner. It is quite small, but it wasn't as busy as I thought it would be. Food taste a little different here, but maybe over time it'll be as good as the Santa Clara location.

First time trying this shot, I was interested in comparing it to Myeongdong jiajiangmyeon in the pacific pearl plaza. Ordered a sweet and sour pork, jiajiangmyeon, and spicy noodle soup (can't remember the name). The sweet and sour pork was just alright, nothing too special and a good amount of batter compared to pork inside. Jiajiangmyeon was great, noodles were al dente and sauce paired perfectly. My only gripe is that the sweet and sour pork is a bit pricey for what it was

I've been coming here for a while now and it's always been spot on. I only get the regular jjampong. I have tried the chili one and the meat one but I think the regular seafood one is the best. They are very generous with the seafood and it could be spicier (for me everything can be spicier) but it is fairly spicy and the broth is very rich. I always come for lunch usually by myself during a weekday and it is never crowded and the service is excellent. There is only one lady there who is always there during weekday lunches and she will check on how I'm doing about twice during the meal, which is the Goldilocks amount of how much I want to be checked in on. My daughter loves the jjajangmyeon here. I'm not a huge fan of jjajangmyeon but I have tried the spicy seafood mixed one and it is delicious. We have also tried some other dishes and honestly, you can't miss with whatever you order here. So flavorful and textures are perfect and they are generous with their portions. I did read another reviewer mention that the portion size did become smaller with the new ownership and I also noticed that. However the portion size now is still way more than you should eat in one sitting (though I still do and regret it every time). Highly recommend this place.

Are you craving Korean staples but don't have time for the flight to Seoul? We've all been there. Paul's Noodle is well worth checking out, and it's just over in Dublin. All the classic diner foods you'd find walking through Culture Street or by Myeongdong Station. Big portions, so you can share or just eat really well. For the most authentic experience, I recommend the Terra beer, which literally in every restaurant, diner, bar, etc in Korea. Also, they give you instant coffee packets with the check which is so very, very Korean.

This is a place I visit often. While some of the dishes are a little on the sweet side and the portions are a bit smaller compared to other places, I still think the food is delicious. The service is always friendly, the restaurant is clean, and I hope they continue to do well.

Wings

I haven't been back in awhile. I noticed the menu has changed to the double sided menu instead of the thick book of menu. We tried the Sweet and Spicy Chicken Wings( we asked less spicy and they were able to do it) , meat jajangmyeon and beef jjamppong. The chicken wing was so so. A bit too much sauce for me. And I felt the meat that went with jajangmyeon was a bit dry. I would probably get the regular jajangmyeon next time without the meat like we used to. The beef jjamppong wa prob the best of all we tried this time. Service, not much. We didn't get water refill until we asked. Inside area was clean. Plenty of parking.

What an amazing place for noodle soup! If you like tasty noodle soup that's full of goodness, I think you should check this out. We came here on a cold night and the food certainly hit the spot! Husband ordered a beef jjampong while I had the regular seafood jjampong. Both were excellent, full of flavor and filled with lots of soft veggies and seafood/beef, thus not very carby, just the way we like it. It was a feast for the senses and the stomach! I think this is the best Korean food I've ever tasted. And the women who work there are so kind and gentle, I love them!!

Came here with some friends and shared a few dishes: jajangmyeon, fried dumplings, and kkanpunggi. Overall, everything was decent, but the kkanpunggi definitely stood out as the highlight. I'd absolutely order that again! Prices are reasonable and I'm glad we got to try a variety of dishes!

We came to try the place after watching culinary class wars and it was good. Super fast service and tasty stuff.

The food was so good, I've been thinking about getting the stir fried jajangmyeon ever since having it here. Tastes so much better than the regular in my opinion. The cream shrimp was very good too, reminiscent of honey walnut prawns especially with the cream sauce. The shrimp were pretty big too. The service was excellent and my gf and I had a great meal here. Definitely coming back

The fish here is really fresh and I like how vast their menu is. If you love sushi, they got the goods. Like their sushi combos with the chef's nigiri and classic tuna and sake maki rolls. Highly recommend their special rolls as well such as the crunch spicy tuna roll (for that tempura crunch) and salmon lover special. If you're not that into sushi, they have bowls and bentos (udon, chirashi, tonkatsu). Really filling as it comes with miso soup and house salad. Overall, their fish to rice ratio is just chef's kiss. I appreciate how friendly their service is and how moderately priced everything is. More on the affordable side and large group friendly. Love this place downnnn.

My other coworker got the bento also with california roll and gyoza. Solid 3 stars good, not great or excellent. Slow service. Plenty of parking. Would come back again if I were in the area.

Soup base and fresh ingredients always made our visits pleasant. We came back for their 20th anniversary deal. The line was super long but that's not surprising since many others probably came for the deal too. We wish the waiting line queue was a bit more accurate though, as we kept getting updates for longer waiting times. But after four recalculations, we finally made it in. Food quality overall was decent. There was a bar to grab as many veggies, noodles, and a few choices of seafood and fishball items and you can grab as much as you want. Meats and fish roe fishballs were requested with the waiter. There is also a hot foods and with chicken wings, fries, chow-mein, and sesame balls. There is a sauce bar, but the broth was so well flavored that we didn't really need the sauces. Drinks can be added for $1.00 more for each person. Seating was spacious and waiters were friendly and efficient. Would we come by very often? Probably not since it can be pricey. But would we come by once in a while, or for special occasions? Yes! Great place with fresh ingredients and choices, and a fun place to hangout with others!

I hadn't been back in years until yesterday, when my usual spot was closed and my mother and I stopped by out of convenience. Unfortunately, the experience reminded me why I hadn't returned. The customer service was lacking -- we were never checked on during our meal and I had to repeatedly look for an employee to request a refill of a banchan and later, flag someone down when I was ready to pay. To make matters worse, I was surprised to find that the kimchi fried rice did not include any protein. Charging $20 for kimchi fried rice without any meat or protein is cruel and poor value for the price... I cannot stomach paying high prices for mediocre food and inattentive service. I will not make the same mistake of coming back again.
