The food was excellent, very fresh and made to order. The waitress started us off with complimentary tortilla chips and fresh salsa. My husband had chipotle chicken burrito. It had chicken, veggies & jalapeños with a side of fresh guacamole. I had the taco salad in a tortilla bowl with a side of sour cream. Both were delicious and filling. The price was very reasonable. The waitress was super friendly. The service was great too! The ambiance was warm & inviting. Bold colors, Mexican influences and rustic furnishing. We found this little gem while at a brewery close by and craving Mexican. This is a tiny restaurant with just three tables and during Covid only able to sit at two. There is some space at the bar. The place is decorated so adorably! My son and I ordered the chicken quesadillas. They were huge! Chock-full of yummy roasted chicken and grilled veggies. We could actually see into the kitchen and see the woman preparing our food, which was so fun! There's plenty to take home for leftovers. We also each had a margarita. Food was a no for me unfortunately. Chicken tacos weren't seasoned and didn't come with much of anything (lettuce tomato, cheese shreds, sour cream or guacamole- granted I don't think the menu mentioned any of these but they'd be a great addition!). They came with a handful of chips that tasted stale. Margaritas were strong on lime but not so much alcohol. Decor inside though was very cute! Service was great too! read more

What a sweet little restaurant! The Yelp reviews steered us in for lunch as we were driving through Winsted. It was warm and welcoming on a rainy day, with enticing smells the moment we entered. It's a small restaurant with one or two on staff midday, but everyone was well taken care of. We were greeted with yummy house-made (I'm guessing) chips and salsa. I ordered the shredded beef quesadilla, sweetheart got the tacos. Both dishes were hearty portions and perfectly seasoned. It's obviously a locals' favorite, but welcoming to newbies. read more

Great food! Reasonable prices. Fantastic and friendly service too. All in a easy to miss small space with just 3 tables and 6 bar stools. We had a delicious pulled pork quesadilla special with mango and a great habanero sauce (perfect level of heat), and a house-special vegetarian enchilada with an excellent red wine based red sauce. How did we miss this place the last 11 years when we live 20 minutes north in a very rural Berkshire town?! Go out of your way to not miss this place! What a treat!! Just happened upon this little place during an afternoon of antique looking, and was so pleasantly surprised! Upon walking in the door, a couple just finishing up their meals raved about the food, "This is the best Mexican food I've ever had!" Lacey, the bartender/waitstaff/cook runs the place and uses all of her own recipes. We had soup, tacos and beers--and everything was made and served with love, and was delicious--no kidding!! Lacey even asked us which type of music we would like to hear--and offered up all kinds of genres. As we were leaving, a mother and daughter sitting at the bar wanted us to come over and see what her mom was eating. Mom had suggested putting a couple of different food items together, and they said Lacey agreed and just put it together with her own flair--and it was fantastic--and the customers said it should be a regular item on the menu! I'm not sure I've ever written a restaurant review before, but the food and the personal touch presented by Lacey inspired me. She deserves the raves! p.s. My family has tried this restaurant on several nights during the summer. According to the website they are open until 9pm, on our first night we arrived at 7pm and were told they were closing because business was slow that night. On our second attempted we enjoyed a decent meal, but were completely ignored by the server/host as she was enjoying shots and drinking with what appeared to be her friends at the bar and the place was extremely hot and the air conditioning was not turned on. Our third and will be my families last attempt was with friends visiting from out of state, we arrived and were asked to leave because we had a small child in the group and that violated the restaurants 21 years of age rule. Decent food, but unprofessional and unorganized fly by night operation, will not return!! read more

My girlfriend alerted me to this establishment, which has very little attention-grabbing signage. It's tucked next to the Winsted Cinema (with which it's affiliated). We gave it a shot - she ordered tacos (modestly priced at $5 and accompanied with chips and salsa) and I ordered a chicken burrito (at $13, a bit much). My girlfriend was thoroughly satisfied with her order and mine was unique - rather than most San Francisco-style burritos (rice / beans / meat / salsa), this had tomato, peppers, onion, mushroom, and olives - it was almost a Mediterranean affair, though still grounded in Latin flavors with chipotle seasoning in the chicken and a jalapeno-infused pico de gallo. The meal was excellent, though next time we'll eat inside the restaurant. It only has two tables and a bar, but the decor is an ambient dark yellow with Latin accents - extremely charming - and the woman who runs the establishment was accommodating and bubbly. Padre's is a hidden treasure on Main St In Winsted. It is small and cozy and very welcoming. Lacey, the manager is a fabulous cook. The menu is basic Mexican, but extraordinarily fresh and all homemade. The daily specials is where Lacey's gourmet side shows itself. I had one of the best soups I have ever had in my life one night at Padre's. She offers unique apps, main dishes and desserts on a little blackboard! Always check them out. Eat in or take out.
