Not too salty or acidic, but rather, savory, rich and creamy, and a veritable meal unto itself. I got three tacos with shrimp, carne, and fried cod. Super high quality ingredients. The carne was a little dry but easily remedied with the green tomato salsa. The food at the other tables was equally impressive. Especially the grilled octopus. I saw many remnants from Hanks, the previous restaurant, but it was lighter and more colorful and festive, with hanging banners, and friendly upbeat bar tenders and hosts, who were genuinely hospitable and attentive. We will be back to experience the rooftop dining as the weather allows.

Sara the waitress a huge shout out to her she was absolutely amazing. So with the help of Sara and in laws I found something that I can order that won't send me to the emergency room, it was a quesadilla steak with cheese and on the side was cheese rice. So I never had a quesadilla before so I don't know how to compare it to anyone else but all I can say is delicious, the cheese rice I couldn't put the fork down it was so yummy. I took a picture of everyone else's plate but I forgot the names but when asked they said it was good, the really long plate one though was a little spicy according to my in law. The Outside was a cute Yellow building walking in was also yellow, it was pretty cute for a little place. Only because of my food allergy I really won't be back, but please try the place out.

But if you don't have stomach problems then I would recommend this restaurant for you.

What really caught me off guard was how big the space is. From the outside, I assumed it was just a sandwich spot, but they actually have a full bar and a pretty expansive setup inside. It wasn't very busy when we went--actually, we were the only ones there--which made the atmosphere a little quiet for lunch, but that also meant quick service. Would definitely come back to try more of the menu or maybe swing by when it's a bit more lively.

If you visit this restaurant keep in mind that…read morethere is no restaurant dedicated parking, you have to either park on the street or find a lot nearby; not ideal on a cold day but this isn't the restaurants fault; just something to be aware of. That being said we arrived and there wasn't really anyone in the main restaurant but the bartender was friendly enough. Unless it's an off peak time on a weekday, that's usually a potential cause for concern for me. I can't comment too much on the service since a few staff members just came by to help clean up and we didn't have the normal patron experience since it was an event hosted by the restaurant. Instead of going with the tacos or the enchiladas, which looked like they had been sitting around contemplating life for a while, I just kind of made a bit of a salad with ingredients. It was fine enough, not something I would personally spend money on. The best way I could describe the food would be hangover food. If you had a night of drinking, this could be a spot you might head to instead of fast food if they're open late. If you're looking for authentic Mexican this is not the place to go, unless you prefer Tex-Mex I suppose. Either way I wouldn't recommend this place based off our recent experience.

"The Love Shack is a little old place where We can get…read moretogether Love Shack, baby" (B-52s) We caught up with the Taco Shack food truck on a visit to East Granby's Almost Famous brewery today. Their 3 for $13 taco selection included shredded chicken, fried chicken, beef, shrimp and sweet potato - all served with a respective variety of garnishes including cabbage, pickled onions, cheese, lettuce, tomato, cabbage and Sriracha or cilantro sauces. They also sell a $14 rice bowl and a few sides - churros, popcorn chicken, fried onion petals, and chips with salsa. We ordered a shredded chicken, beef and shrimp taco. First of all, they weren't skimpy portions- they were pretty decent for the price. I saw in a prior review that someone was unhappy about the two shrimp they received in their taco.  All I can say is that my shrimp taco most definitely had more than two shrimp in it. Service was super fast and pleasant and I would most definitely buy from them again.

My wife also ordered a Margarita flight. Drinks were on the strong side, and we felt the flight was expensive at $25. Our steaks were disappointing, overcooked. I've had much better steaks at a Longhorn, at a lesser price. My Mother In Law thought her meal was decent though, but my wife & I agreed, we don't see a reason for a return visit. If they can't cook steaks properly, how would other menu items be, like the pizza ? The bar itself seemed cool, but we also noted that the flowers outside were in desperate need of watering. We are in the middle of a July Heat Wave here in Connecticut, but these plants have been neglected for some time. Just makes me think everything else in the Mill House has also been neglected, but I feel this place has so much potential. Torrington needs this type of bar, but the food and the lack of attention to detail just doesn't cut it. Sorry, I'm agreement with several other Yelp reviewers that feel the Mill House is mediocre, at best.
