Checked out Salt 2.0 for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the Harvest Bowl and it was solid--fresh ingredients, nice flavors, and a good portion. What really caught me off guard was how big the space is. From the outside, I assumed it was just a sandwich spot, but they actually have a full bar and a pretty expansive setup inside. It wasn't very busy when we went--actually, we were the only ones there--which made the atmosphere a little quiet for lunch, but that also meant quick service. Would definitely come back to try more of the menu or maybe swing by when it's a bit more lively. read more

We had a family event at Salt 2.0 this past weekend. If you visit this restaurant keep in mind that there is no restaurant dedicated parking, you have to either park on the street or find a lot nearby; not ideal on a cold day but this isn't the restaurants fault; just something to be aware of. That being said we arrived and there wasn't really anyone in the main restaurant but the bartender was friendly enough. Unless it's an off peak time on a weekday, that's usually a potential cause for concern for me. I can't comment too much on the service since a few staff members just came by to help clean up and we didn't have the normal patron experience since it was an event hosted by the restaurant. Instead of going with the tacos or the enchiladas, which looked like they had been sitting around contemplating life for a while, I just kind of made a bit of a salad with ingredients. It was fine enough, not something I would personally spend money on. The best way I could describe the food would be hangover food. If you had a night of drinking, this could be a spot you might head to instead of fast food if they're open late. If you're looking for authentic Mexican this is not the place to go, unless you prefer Tex-Mex I suppose. Either way I wouldn't recommend this place based off our recent experience. read more

We stopped into Salt 2.0 over the weekend for some lunch. It was pretty empty when we walked in, but it began to fill up afternoon. There are a couple of ways to order, either via QR code on the table, or up at the front. When we were there, there was only one person working front of the house, but she was doing an amazing job for the size of the place! We ordered the buffalo chicken quesadilla and the shrimp tacos. Everything can be modified for gluten free, and they're really knowledgeable on allergens! The food was pretty good, rice was a little bland, but I kind of enjoyed it not having a bunch of crazy seasonings. I really enjoyed the buffalo chicken quesadilla on a full size gluten free wrap! Definitely have some patience if multiple people arrive at the same time as you, but service is friendly and helpful! read more

This place offers a very limited menu and you order and pay using a QR code. My husband and I ordered wraps (we wanted to eat something light before going to a concert at the theater next door). The food was good. We had minimal contact with the employees but those we dealt with were cordial and respectful. Not bad. read more

We were in town for 'leaf peeping' season and wanted to check out some local places. We love old historic mill towns, so we were looking at a place on Main Street to grab lunch. Salt 2.0 is built into the former Mertz department store building and offers a variety of options including many vegan/vegetarian offerings. We each decided on a bowl - which featured fresh veggies and was served over brown rice or lentils. We each selected the lentil option and really enjoyed our food. They offer happy hour pricing on some apps and drinks and can customize any of the dishes to accommodate food preferences or allergies. read more

Salt 2.0 is one of the few eateries on the main strip in Torrington, Connecticut coming from a Native New Yorker. The decor was a bit of a mix between restaurant and dive bar, which was initially confusing but ultimately added to the charm. What really matters is the food, right? And on that front, Salt 2.0 delivered, especially with their happy hour specials. The prices were reasonable, and the portion sizes were generous. I had the wings and nachos, both of which were delicious, though the chicken on the nachos was a bit cold. The fried cauliflower and fried pickles were also good, and you have to try, the Kale dumplings. Yeah I know I know, you're like Kale dumplings? Please just try it. The wings were fried to perfection and came in a variety of tasty sauces. I recommend the flaming honey garlic. Don't be scared by the word "flaming" because although it had a kick, it was tolerable. The quesadilla was a safe bet and didn't disappoint. My company also enjoyed their burritos, chips and queso and the lemon drop martini also had them chilling and sipping. I'd recommend avoiding the Guinness Stout or any keg-like beer, as they tasted flat. The server gladly switched it out for a jack and coke after offering another stout like alternative. The highlight of our visit was the excellent customer service. Despite being short-staffed as we were informed that there were some call outs, the team worked tirelessly to serve our table of nine. The wings were a standout, fried to perfection and sauced just right. The fried cauliflower, especially when tossed in buffalo sauce (which we requested and they accommodated), was an unexpected hit. Overall, while there were a few minor hiccups, the friendly and hardworking staff made the experience memorable. If you visit, you're sure to enjoy the food, but the warm and welcoming service will make you feel right at home. read more

The very best way for me to describe the quality of the food in this place is a "college town eatery ". I was here for an event on a Saturday afternoon. Other than our party, the place was dead as a doornail, a very good indicator to me what I was in for when I arrived. The decor is a bit tacky but again would appeal just fine to a college crowd. The service was indifferent. On my plate was a marinated shredded chicken taco with fresh guacamole, bean and cheese enchiladas and standard American taco toppings. I definitely would never describe this place as authentic, just a very American style of what we think Mexican food is like. To my surprise, the food was salted properly but maybe leaning towards over salted a bit. Unfortunately that was the only discernible flavor present. No authentic flavors, no fresh cilantro or pico de gallo or anything nice like that. I would recommend this place if you were looking for some safe hangover food. read more

Salt 2.0 is located next to the Warner Theater in downtown Torrington. There's metered street and lot parking, and actual free parking (but limited) behind the Warner. It's hard to cut through if there's not a show that night though. The decor I would describe as "pop of color". It's dark, but also has rainbow lights and pops of brightness. There is a bar area, and two sides of dining room. You can eat in the front and people watch out the windows. Ordering can be done using a QR code or at the front register. The food was okay - the menu was limited though because it was a show night. I had a chicken bacon ranch wrap, and the tomatoes were left on. Fortunately they weren't diced and could be somewhat easily removed. The brownie was made by an independent company and came in its packaging. The hummus was delicious though. It was a little grainy, but had great flavors. I only wish I had had more chips to finish it off! read more

Good service, good food, but this place is undergoing an identity crisis. We got a Buffalo Chicken Quesadilla and blackened shrimp tacos with rice and beans. They were both good and able to be gluten free. However, we ordered at the walk in counter, then had a server run by later, but also the place is a bar and a comedy club? Anyways, the ultra changing atmosphere distracted from the food. read more

"Let's drink to the hard working people Let's drink to the lowly of birth Raise your glass to the good and the evil Let's drink to the salt of the earth" (Jagger/Richards) We had just finished running an errand in Torrington when the old lunchtime "where we gonna go?" discussion began. Busting out the Yelp, app, we quickly settled on Salt 2.0 because a) we love Mexican food, b) it was very close by, c) the menu looked good, and d) the pricing was right. Ordering seems to be an issue for some customers, because table service isn't an option, so you either have to order through a QR code at your table, or order at the hostess stand. I'm pretty inept with technology, so we perused the menu and placed our order with the hostess. In about ten minutes, a nice young man brought us our food. My wife ordered a cheese quesadilla ($5.99) with sour cream, salsa, and Cheddar jack on a flour tortilla. I went with a South of the Border Rice Bowl ($7.99 +$3 for adding chicken). It contained Brown rice, beans, fresh lettuce, tomato, red onion, Pico de Gallo, cheddar jack cheese, fire-roasted salsa, and an ancho chipotle aioli. It was excellent, and truth be told, half of it was plenty for me, so when I can get two meals out of a dish for under $11.50 -that's a pretty good value. There was nothing about Salt 2.0 we didn't like -the food, the service, the decor, the price, etc. It's affiliated with the Saltwater Grill in Litchfield, is conveniently located right next to the Warner Theater, and it has a bar and a Happy Hour. read more

Mediterranean bowl or wrap is always a win, fresh delicious and satisfying. Guilty pleasure is their queso. Staff is friendly and up to date. (torrrington) location has a small town vibe with an amazing location that can make any event intimate or a celebration. Personally, always been happier sitting at the bar there over nearby popular restaurants. It's has a more welcoming atmosphere. Bring the bartender back that was the tarot card reader ?! read more

At first when walking in it was sort of weird! Nobody was in here for lunch and I was nervous that maybe it was not a good place! But it ended being amazing. The place is huge and open! The service was right on it, super nice. My fiancé and I both got the chicken club wrap which was amazing and filling! Then shared maple sweet potato's which were okay, maybe for cinnamon added to them, but overall great! We will be back again! read more

Omg what a fricking nightmare, my daughter had a recital next door and seriously this place is a joke. You have to order on a menu no servers. No tables for 6 unless you sit at a high top table BRING SLIDERS BACK BOTTLED BEVERAGES !!!!! Order off an app where your paying upfront before you get your food. DO NOT EAT HERE UNLESS YOU WANT A HEADACHE!! Would be less stars if possible. The really funny thing is they have a person who came over and asked us about the changes we had to make. So we ate and still not impressed microwaved pretzel???? Good size portion but probably will not return Also think they microwave the quesadilla? I might be wrong but they were very soggy !! I rarely come on Yelp, but my experience at this location was so atrocious it deserved a review. One star is giving this place more than it deserves. My son had a travel soccer game, so we hunted for a place to eat in Torrington after his game before making the hour drive back to New Haven. We came across what was suppose to be a "fresh" option. The service was fine, but the food was so bad we literally just packed it up for our dogs and stopped at Wendy's on the way home. The "flank steak" was literally roast beef and the grilled chicken had the texture of rubber and was as white as the screen I'm typing on. The fact this place promotes itself as a fresh / healthy option is wild. read more

Horrible. Got the vegan burrito which was just essentially a pile of rice and beans wrapped up in a tortilla. No real flavor. Also, I had take out which I found out later in the car that they didn't provide any napkins or utensils. I ate that sloppy flavorless mess with my hands. read more

Went on a Friday night. Andy the bartender was very nice, and so was Madi, the server. My friend and I got chicken club wraps. I'm not a fan of wraps, but this one was EXCELLENT! I don't like Salt 2.0 -- have tried twice both times were not good. Let me elaborate. Firstly this business started with Saltwater Grill. A fine dining experience in Litchfield CT - always loved the grill. I don't know why they felt they needed to introduce a "2.0" restaurant because nothing about it is next level. Firstly it's like tacos, burritos and "take out" items when their restaurant was like seafood/ American. Don't do Mexican if you don't know it. I first had a burrito at litchfield location it was a sloppy mess I had to eat it with a fork. That's not a burrito it's now an enchilada. Then I ordered a Buffalo chicken wrap in Torrington, oh my god it was so bad. Legit just all flour tortilla with grilled chicken ( not like marinated in sauce) just with the sauce squirted in the wrap. So bad. I actually returned it. Won't go back now that I've tried it twice. Also pricey for what it is. Wish they just stuck with the grill. That was such a nice restaurant. read more

It was a huge mistake ordering food from this place it was so over Salted it was inedible it was as if a little kid made are food it was messy cold in places it shouldn't be and extremely salty I know they are called salt but that doesn't mean you have to try to kill your customers with it by god it was awful I wanted my 45 dollars back but I don't think I would have got a refund the staff is rude also . I ordered to go so I don't know if the service is better inside not much to look at as I walked in and it looked kinda shabby inside as well not a nice place to eat all around horrible .time and waste of money we threw our food away it was inedible I hope for their sake they get a new chef . read more

Food was excellent. Had the Poke Sushi Wrap. The wife had the BLT Wrap. Just excellent.

So the new thing is no waitresses or waiters! But they for sure have the option to tip them when you go to place your order and pay. The food is just OK. Unless they step up their game, I just can't see how this restaurant will make it. The theater was crowded last night and the place was pretty empty. read more

The food is good but two times I ordered from them I received a random olive with a pit. Two times I almost broke my tooth. They should double check their ingredients before someone actually breaks a tooth or chokes. read more

What a waste! No waitress, so you have to order through and app... can't find the menu items and nobody to ask questions. The food had no flavor in all three meals. Been twice- once dine in and once take out. Quick healthy food. Reasonably priced. Smoked salmon wrap is awesome! Will def be back.

Per their website and menus they have happy everyday. But since there's a show at the Warner theater next door they don't honor it. Guess they've lost a 1st time customer. The queso is like water and has very little taste. read more

Right to the point it was a very bland dining experience. Tried them a couple times now. I thought Chipotle was overrated until I ate here. Now I see they came from Litchfield it makes sense. (Litchfield being home of dullest foods around) It's a poor attempt at trying the trendy thing. The food itself isn't bad. It's boring and flavorless. And the queso isn't queso. It tastes like warm American cheese from a jar. If you can't do an ethnic food properly..DON'T. I would accept Taco Bell before here again. Sorry. read more

My boyfriend and I loved this spot ! Came there on Monday afternoon and got Chips with their guacamole, so fresh and tasty! We also got the beef tacos and Buffalo chicken wrap. So so good! This was a really great lunch spot for us! It's a very open and pleasant environment, and the service is friendly. I liked the ordering system, it was very easy and efficient. I found this restaurant infuriating. I can see why it was almost empty on a beautiful Friday night. By not having a waitress and forcing you to order yourself by scanning a qr code at a table, I believe they are losing customers. A lot of people especially senior citizens would be completely lost, im also not really a fan of putting my card number in a random website before i even receive my food. While the food was good nothing spectacular, the experience was weird and uncomfortable with basically no interaction at all other than a girl dropping food at the table. None of the typical "how is everything" or "can I get you anything else". The best part.....going back on your phone at the end to close out the check, which you also do yourself. And there is an option for a TIP!!!! I'm pretty sure I was my own waitress. The one girl that was standing by the door never offered help even when we were basically alone aside from the bar and she could clearly see we were frustrated. Bottom line food was fine but the dine in experience is absolutely awful. I would only order take out if I was ever to go again. It's a shame because it is an amazing location right next to the theatre, but unfortunately nothing ever lasts there and this place will likely add to the list. read more

The. Food was really bad. I ate a couple of mouthfuls cut my losses for the sake of my taste buds. TV dinners taste better. Unfriendly and inattentive staff. But don't worry you really have minimal interaction with them as it is set up to be a "no contact" experience. Can't imagine who gave them a business loan. The style does not reflect the demographics of the area. read more
