The beignet. Heavier than those you'd get on Decatur Street in New Orleans. But good. Stopped the salty sting of greasy boil.

It's unique for the area. I give them credit for providing an interesting way to hemorrhage money as a customer. Menu cannot decide if it's Mexican or New Orleans. But still, we wanted the experience. Ugh. It's like I saw myself sliding slowly toward the guardrail on an icy road and I couldn't do anything to stop it. Ugh. Family of 4. 2 of whom are big teenaged boys. Appetizers: Wings - disapoonting frozen Tyson breaded kind. Blue cheese clearly straight out of the bottle. Blackened bison nachos - pretty good. A little dry. Very few veggies. Small 2oz soufflé cup of jarred salsa and sour cream (this turns out to be the best part of the dinner). Dinners: 3 different boils and one ultimate shrimp basket. Seafood was decently cooked. Very greasy and buttery - almost to the point where it only tasted like fake butter. Oh, add sausage to your boil (which it should by definition have)... sure add $$$. Want it "extra juicy?" No problem .... More $$$. The food comes in a clear kitchen trash bag. You're given a bib and subway sandwich artist gloves - when all is combined with the fake butter... nothing can be held in your hands. I felt like I was picking through the trash for my meal. I couldn't wait to be out of food. I just wanted it to end. Everyone at the table, at some point, said "they wished they ordered a burger...". Ugh. Oh, the atmosphere ... it was dead silent with the addition of repetitive slamming of a snare drum from the JV band warming up for 2 hours. Thank God we left before they started playing. It was dead silent as management reserved all but 4 tables for those perhaps coming to see the band. So there was NO atmosphere at 6pm on a Saturday night. Just empty tables that could not be used. Note: they were still empty at 720 when we left. The worst part... we literally needed to order dessert to get the grease and stingingly hot/salty tastes out of our mouths. Thus, pushing our bill over the (DRUM ROLL) $300 mark. In-effing-sane! There is a tavern next door. A KFC 1/4 mile away. As well as a food court at Big Y. Any of those would have been a better idea. We were in Torrington, there's literally hundreds of better places. We just wanted to try the experience. Well, we had one. Service was good (because it was empty yet fully booked). Dessert was cool with fried to order beignet. Photo below.

Came in not very crowded. Sat at the bar and ordered a drink and dinner. Staff were very funny. The place itself has a lot of charm. My meal came and I enjoyed every bit. Different way of serving which is in the bag it's cooked in. When you first look at it, it doesn't seem like a lot but it filled me right up. I'd say overall it was a good experience

Very broad but tasty seafood based menu as well as standard American fare like burgers and children's menu. Taco Tuesday is a great deal for $3/taco! Full bar and great beer selection. Check the schedule for the great local talent musicians who perform there mostly for Free with a good size dance floor. Great date night or family outings destination!

Came in again with my mom for her birthday ! We each got a lb of mussels and Lb of Shrimp with heads off in their Cajun boil special sauce fire level spicy. We both loved it and the sauce was just delectably amazing. And the service was great and so fast, quick, and attentive.

I have heard great things about Ordinary Joe's especially those wings and their multiple flavor options. Our server Lindsay was and is awesome every time we have been there. We were there for the wings of course , decided to go with the smoked butter bbq which is dry rub, man these were so so so good! Tried honey medium , bomb! Of course mild is always a good go to , and the honey bbq. Allllll so very delicious!!!! Now that I know they are so close I am excited to try the other flavors. First visit to the O Joe's North location - understanding I/we love the original. It exceeded every possible expectation. Food is terrific - has the same standard as Watertown, but our wings were cooked even better. Fresh, hot, crispy, juicy. Definitely the best Ordinary Joe's wings we've had (and we have a lot of them, often). The food options are clearly rooted in the original concept. However, there are some more/different options here. Everything looked and smelled fantastic. I look forward to investigating further. Our server, Vanessa, earned 25 stars on her own. She was attentive, personable, yet worked quickly and accurately - manning a full bar and dining room simultaneously - while making us feel like we were the only ones in the joint. Manager/(Owner?) Paul was terrific as well. Stepped in to ensure all tables had what they needed, were clean, and everyone happy. It was truly noticeable that customer service is a priority for the team. Building is new/redone/beautiful. Similar, iconic O Joe's feel and decorating - yes, the gridiron is painted on the ceiling. Just a great space. Great vibe. Eat-off-the-floor clean. Simply can't wait to go back. And, again, I am so lucky to have proximity to both locations. **Just one note for families who may go with children or teenage boys (like me)... The service is so great, no one at the table will have an empty glass for long... that's a really positive thing. But, fair warning, soft drink refills are NOT free (nor should they be, frankly). However, with an 18 and 16 yr old in my party...those Cokes accumulate quickly.

The dinner menu was atypical, featuring an eclectic fusion of dishes executed with lots of creative flair. Flavor, quality and freshness of ingredients were top notch. Our starter, Garlic Maple Whiskey Chicken Bites, came accompanied with grilled shishito peppers. Perfect for sharing and so lovely paired with a glass of prosecco. Next, we sampled Bouillabaisse and Miso Roasted Black Cod in dashi broth. Seafood for both mains were super fresh. The Bouillabaisse broth was remarkably flavorful, the hint of saffron ever present but not overwhelming. How nice to have the red pepper rouille and slices of bread (customary in France) served alongside for the authentic experience. Miso Roasted Black Cod was tasty, succulent and fork tender. Beautifully arranged with mushrooms and Brussels sprouts surrounding the fish, plus a delectable piece of polenta cake tucked underneath. Dashi broth was poured onto dish tableside, creating a warm umami rich dish that was not only delicious but also extremely satisfying. On to desserts....The Chocolate Tarte with sea salt, nuts and berry coulis, a picture of understated elegance, was incredibly sublime. The Warm Apple Tartlet à la Mode with vanilla ice cream was good too. Would have preferred a tad less cinnamon though. All things considered, this was an exemplary meal. Wait staff was friendly and helpful. Hope to return again soon.

Hmmm. She did bring a complimentary bottle of wine as we continued to wait. I'd ordered a lobster stuffed bass. I'm not too picky, but fish was rubbery, there was only a lobster broth, no lobster (most expensive item on the menu) and the other dinners were - satisfactory, nothing more. I did write the Abner to let them know, only so they could be aware. No response was made. Will we go back? Perhaps for a drink, not for dinner. There are other excellent options in Litchfield. Disappointed? 100%

This is not a super upscale place, but you will still find it comfortable, easy to navigate the food selections, and the service is always on point and quick. They have a large spread of food items, from your usual General Tso's and lo mein, to braised pork, to chicken wings and French fries for the kiddos. There is a large spread of meat and veggie options for everyone, and they serve slightly different items during their dinner hours. Price right now after tax for lunch hours (until 3pm) is $13.90, which for an all you can eat place is absolutely insane. I encourage everyone to try a little piece of each option you want, because you can always go back for more at any time! There's a cold octopus dish that is my personal favorite and if I could ever learn the recipe I'd eat it non stop, but genuinely, this is a nice chill place with average to really good food quality, and there's so many things to pick from that no one will be left without options. I highly recommend this place, and even after moving cross country for years I always come back here and will continue to do so each time.
