I have the cilantro gene. The rice has cilantro. I suspect there may have been cilantro touching the steak. If you have the cilantro gene, you too may be unable to judge the food because it tastes like soap. The chips were good, as was the queso Blanco once I dipped the chip around the peppers and onions. The store itself is small, with three rows of seating somewhat close together and fixed. There's also a table against the wall opposite the kitchen with a soda machine between them. You don't HAVE to get a bottle. It is clean, but sometimes things may get pushed back, like getting the ice out of the soft drink machine. read more

Ordered food online and went to pick up in the drive thru pick up line. Five cars in front of me and I waited 17 minutes! When I finally arrived at the window, the worker totally ignored me and didn't come to the window for 2 minutes to get my name! Absolutely ridiculou! read more

Chipotle is fresh and we love the taste of the food when it is correct. I don't however recommend ordering online because often we've received the wrong meat and have forgotten the guac we paid extra for. I do recommend going in and ordering, however online ordering proves to be inconsistent. Although you can see the freshness from this picture! read more

Price shock! I went to Chipotle for the first time today. There was no one in line, so I didn't have time to look at the menu. I quickly ordered a bowl, without knowing it was $11.95!! The servers were friendly and asked what I wanted. We went down the line and I said yes to almost everything. The cashier then said $17.82!! I said, "Oh, I only have one bowl." The woman next to her said "You also got Queso & Guacamole." - which I did not realize were extra. Queso was $1.70 and Guacamole was $2.95!!! I apologized and said I didn't know they were extra (I think the servers should tell you before they ask if you want it.) As I paid, I said this better be the best bowl I ever had. Since it was my only bowl, I have nothing to compare it to, but I can say, it did not blow me away... The shredded beef was ok, but there was not enough. They gave me more black beans than meat. There was way too much rice. The spicy salsa made it hot enough, but the flavor was just average. And they barely put any lettuce on top... Overall, it was probably worth $6 or $7. The dining area was really dirty. The tables, chairs and floors were not wiped down. There was spilled soda on the floor & near the soda station. The food was very salty and everything was kind of lukewarm so the cheese did not melt on my burrito. I usually love Chipotle. This is a newer location so I was expecting to be a little cleaner. It wasn't busy so the staff could attend to other areas. Who wants to eat next to a previous diners rice. The woman's bathroom was clean. Three stars Bc I generally like Chipotle. read more

Service here was very slow. Didnt see like they really cared. The bowl was sloppily put together. The food was also cold as well.

First visit to the new chipotle and it was terrible!!! I wanted a chicken bowl with heavy peppers. Completely out of cauliflower rice, no chicken, no peppers and onions, and still hadn't put more on the grill to refill the burrito bar, gave me the last scraps of chicken and said the chicken will take a while so to pick another meat, I chose steak and noticed in my receipt that they charged me for chicken and steak, WTH!!! Is it not common sense to start telling the line cooks to start grilling more food when the bar is looking half filled?.. or in their case empty!!! read more

Took the trouble to fill out an online order at 9:00 for a 9:30 pickup; only to arrive at 9:45 to pick it up to discover the order (for my 5 kids) had not even begun to be assembled. Worse still, they proceeded to make two additional in-store orders after acknowledging my order hadn't been started. Then, the ultimate top-off, they only make 3 of my 5 items; which I pointed out multiple times only to be yelled at by the surly manager, when he realized HE was wrong. Place was a train wreck, attitude abysmal, and operations clearly a cluster...we're 3 years past COVID labor interruptions now; get it together Chipotle. read more

Food was decent, although expensive. The service was not the best. Even though they gave us what we asked for and definitely gave us what we paid for there were a few smiles. They didn't seem to enjoy their job. As far as the ambience the restaurant was filthy we had to ask to have a table cleaned off so we could eat. we could not get to the drink station, which is in a really really bad place unless we walked around three full garbage bags and walked around three puddles of some kind of liquid on the floor that came from the garbage bags. Store is full of employees but doors are locked, employees ignored and literally would not acknowledge us. We wanted to pick up dinner because the door says they close at 10 and Google says 10, but the app says they close at 8 and you can't make orders after 7:00 or 7:30 depending on the app which is crazy so I guess this place is like only usable as a take out lunch location??? We were so so so excited to finally have a Chipotle in Torrington but this place is useless, I doubt it will last long. We will still have to drive 45 mins to get Chipotle. Completely understandable that they just opened, are understaffed, and were very busy at the time-- however a specific crew member had just a downright nasty attitude towards everyone. I understand stress and irritability, but in the food industry you're supposed to still uphold good and FRIENDLY customer service. Over all the experience was OK. I waited over an hour for my online order and found the food to be worth the wait. Just the attitudes could use some adjusting. Not everyone is a rude customer, so there's no need to treat every person as if they are even if you're having a bad day. Just my opinion. read more

the delivery was 1 hour late on a Thursday! they forgot my salsa, gave less than half a serving, stale chips and one piece of steak and a mix of chicken and sofritas when I ordered the bowl with chicken and steak! The beans were dry, rice was undercooked, plating was terrible and the cilantro in the rice was stale! Do what you want with this info but overall not the experience I was expecting. For some reason the Chipotle app was saying that this location wasn't accepting online orders. Don't know if there was a glitch in the app, or what. So I went inside to place my order. It was a disaster from the get go. They only had two meats available (I guess they had run out of everything else), and they had run out of a few sides as well (white rice, guac, etc.). On top of that the staff behind the counter was completely frazzled and seemed like they had no clue what they were doing. I ordered a quesadilla meal for my daughter and none of the employees seemed to know how to make it. Got home and the quesadilla looked like crap. I understand that this is a new location and they are probably all new employees to chipotle, but they need a manager in there who can take control and run things a little better than they were running. There was cheese, lettuce and a bunch of other sides all over the prep bench; it was a mess and just looked terrible. In the past I have gone to the Canton location. They have their crap together. The Torrington location needs to get their crap together or I will drive the extra 20 minutes to Canton to get my food. (That's saying a lot, because I live right down the road from the Torrington location.) I hope the owner of this new chipotle location reads this and gets things in order or I will not be returning to their business. read more

This time on the other hand may have changed my outlook on the way this place is ran and the overall care put into the food and service from the employees. This is the worst chipotle I have ever been to. I ordered a chicken burrito bowl and was told to wait off to the side while they prepared the chicken. I sat there waiting for well over 30 minutes. I love chipotle! It's usually one of my favorite places to go when I'm home in VA. I stopped by this one excited for a good meal and was unfortunately very disappointed. While the staff was super friendly and quick, the food was extremely lackluster. The rice was hard and lacked any type of salt and lime seasoning that's usually associated with it. The black beans were way too thick, mushy, and once again bland. The chicken was at least cooked and seasoned well. The sides were also lacking. The side tomatoes are usually my favorite but they had absolutely NO seasoning. Mostly everything was bland and it just made me sad lol. This visit was very disappointing and I guess I'll stick to my chipotle back home. Season your food people!! read more

Been to this chipotle location 5 times. Ended up leaving without food twice. They're always out of something. Many times sour cream and even cheese. It's dirty and stray food all over the counters, used gloves all over the floors. Definitely not enough workers which might be at the crux of the problem.
