We were craving some burgers and have not been to a five guys in years. We did 2 cheeseburgers, Cajun fries and two shakes. The burgers were amazing, I struggled to eat the whole thing, I forgot they did double patties. The fries were disappointing as they were not Cajun, they were also not crispy. One of my favorite "fast" burger spots! Ingredients are always fresh! I swear, the jalapeños are spicier here! I love a good cheeseburger (double patty) with bbq sauce, sautéed mushrooms and onions, lettuce, tomato, pickles, jalapeños and bacon. Gotta get fries- with the Cajun seasoning. Milkshakes - lots of flavors to choose from! (Bacon, Oreo crème, Oreo cookie, double stuf Oreo, salted caramel, peanut butter, banana, strawberry, vanilla, chocolate, Reese's cup & whipped cream). My wife and I stopped here for lunch. We've both never been here before and have always wanted to try it. We walked in and while going over the menu overhead one of the very friendly workers invited us up closer to take our order. We told him this was our first time here and he seemed genuinely excited to be able to explain the menu to us newbies. He went into detail on the items which was a big help. He did suggest that the largest French fry order was very generous and the medium size would be enough for the two of us to share. We both got the cheeseburgers, which are double cheeseburgers. We each had our own desired add-ons with it. Our order came out quickly and exactly as we each requested. The burgers were very tasty. My wife could have used a fork and knife to eat hers. They are big and overstuffed. Also, our server was correct, the medium order of fries was more than enough for the two of us. We enjoyed our meal here. I haven't had five guys in forever. Was craving a good burger and totally forgot about this place, but with the help of Yelp, I remembered where I could go. This classic burger joint has a small menu but is filled with options. I got the little bacon cheese burger, and the free toppings were endless. Some choices included grilled onions, lettuce, tomatoes, grilled mushrooms, BBQ sauce, mayo, ketchup, mustard, pickles, relish, green peppers and hot sauce just to name a few. I had mine with mayo lettuce and tomatoes. I also ordered the Cajun fries that had a little zing to it. Everything was cooked fresh to order and I watched them make it on the open grill. They had a station set up with condiments napkins and utensils to help yourself to. Two Coca-Cola machines were available for soft drinks and a dining area with tables to seat yourself while you wait for your order. They called a number from your receipt when your order is ready and voila, you got your meal. Staff was pleasant and very helpful and I enjoyed my food. I get side work and down time (I work in this industry) and so did the gentleman by the grill who acknowledged me, greeted me and said to give them a moment, cool I'm All for giving them a moment finish setting up do your thing because again I GET IT .....this is now where it goes down hill.... a female who was stacking cups looks over at us and just kept stacking okay fine again I GET IT, the young man ask her to take the order, ( I wish he didn't ask her I really wished he didn't but he did) the female was so bothered by MY ORDER and kept saying ok anything else and was very bothered to be at work. The quality of this location has significantly decreased over the past few months. The latest visit was an equally disappointing experience. First the Cajun seasoned fries were loaded with seasoning, actually so much seasoning that you couldn't even see the fries. Not simply dusted but excessive and inedible. Follow that up with three little cheeseburgers where two "cheeseburgers" were missing cheese. The quality of the ingredients, specifically the beef has also dissipated over the past few visits. Regarding payment I attempted to use a gift card but was unable to split the payment method, so I had to place two separate orders. Since the order was $46 but the gift card only had $30 on it. There are many better burger options so this will be my last visit at least at this location. read more

Ordered a couple of burger bowls online, drove 20 minutes each way to pick it up, only to find that we received half of our order after we got back home. The store was completely unhelpful when we called for a refund. We were referred to customer service through Five Guys app which was another 20 minute fiasco. Simple can be better Sometimes simple is better and Five Guys certainly adheres to this principle. Not a whole lot on the menu so if you want something other than burgers and fries you best go somewhere else. They do have a hot dog and a couple of sandwiches like a BLT and something called a veggie sandwich but the burgers and fries are the stars of this show. The burgers are the basic hamburger, cheeseburger theme but the trick here is that they have a zillion toppings, all free, that you can dump on your burger. Easy to get carried away with the toppings and a bit of restraint is usually good. The fries are also great and just oozing with fat, salt and grease, the way fries should be. They usually dump the fries in a big cup and then put that in a paper bag so they can spill all over the place. Five Guys does have milk shakes and a wide variety of drinks in one of those cool new self serve drink machine. Fun to mess around and mix different flavors. And if the burgers and fries weren't enough, Five Guys gives out free peanuts. You can just scoop them up from huge containers and have fun ripping and eating the peanuts while you wait for your burgers. This particular location was clean and the service adequate. Sure, Five Guys is more expensive that the real crappy burger joints and although it hardly qualifies as a gourmet burger is still pretty dang good. We stopped here after being in the area for something with our kids. The food was mediocre at best, service slow, and staff immature. I took my son to use the facilities prior to leaving, we had to wait and upon it becoming available, a staff member had literally destroyed it.... Came here about 4 months ago and ordered a burger and requested "well done". I was told by the cashier that all burgers are cooked well and that I'll be happy with it. Upon arriving home to eat with my family, I learned that our burgers were not well and I promised I would not return. Today, my pregnant wife and I had a craving for a burger but wanted something quick. We figured to give this place another try. So this time I requested "well done" on all our burgers and I heard the same story. We have two little kids under the age of three and one on the way. I explained politely my prior experience and the cashier promised me she would let them know behind her. Meanwhile she turned and spoke to one of the cooks. Immediately, the one cook looked at me with a disturbed look and it seemed as if I bothered him. Upon arriving home we noticed that the burger was not cooked well. Please see picture attached. What a waste. Normally I don't mind it but with a pregnant wife, she has to eat well cooked meat. I support it and to make it easy for the cooks, this is what we requested on all. Overall, I think 5Guys is choice for a good quick fast-food burger. This location has a couple downsides. It is directly across the street from TunxisCC, meaning, forget going when classes are getting out. You'll wait a while just from the shear volume. And second, its on Rte 6 at quite a busy intersection. Getting in and out of the parking lock can be a challenge, and the lot isn't quite as big as it needs to be. Other than that this place is worth the trip, it's high on the 5Guys quality scale and I haven't had an order get muddle yet. They renovated their dining room last summer and its quite nice. The chairs are my favorite, they look like these nice wooden chaser, and then you sit, and find out they're aluminum. Classic. There is nothing better in the world than a five guys burger. I would even take one above a steak on occasion. However, the last five times I have been in there I have been disgusted about how nasty the place is and how they never clean anything! The floor is gross. The tables are gross! My first time reviewing a Five Guys Burgers & Fries location, even though I been to several and I've been to this location many times. My "Big Beef" is the level of service. None of the tables in the dining room were clean, and the staff was just shooting the breeze behind the counter (we walked in tonight when it was not busy at all, no one in line and only a few people seated eating). Besides that, they forgot the BBQ sauce on my burger. When I went back up to get some BBQ sauce, no one made eye contact with me at all, I had to shout to get someone's attention (I'm a 6'3" 300# plus size guy, and since I was only standing 10 feet away from all the staff, I find it hard to believe that I was invisible). They were nice enough when they gave me the BBQ sauce, but the impression I got is that the place is run by a bunch of knuckleheads. They were not all kids either, a guy my age was running the grill and he seemed to be as clueless as the rest of the staff. Sorry to sound this harsh, but crappy service irks me. It's expensive Fast Food as it is (decent tasting, true), but their attitudes really bothered me. Might be a while before we have a return visit. read more

I am originally from Connecticut but live in Seattle now. The last time my husband and I were home back in April, we drove by Five Guys and knew we had to try it the next time we were in town. This was our chance. The day after our wedding, we packed up our Seattle friends and headed over to Five Guys for their amazing burgers and fries. Beware that the large fries are VERY LARGE. We split the Cajun fries and regular fries among 5 people and it was plenty. Our burgers were juicy and filled with all the toppings and condiments you could possibly want. At this burger chain, you won't find any gourmet toppings beyond a few standard offerings and staple condiment options. It's quite good, although, yeahhhh, it's a chain-- intentionally straightforward in its limited selection of burgers, fries, and hot dogs- but the taste is enhanced by simplicity. Burgers are juicy and well-done, and the crispy Cajun fries are phenomenal. Prices are reasonable- it's glorified fast food. I first tried 5 Guys on the boardwalk in Bethany Beach, DE years ago and didn't expect so many locations to pop up in CT. I've been to three different Five Guys and all have been exactly the same which is good in my opinion. Shows consistency when it today's culinary world there is none when referring to chains. Five Guys has pulled off the whole "we're sellin burgers here!!" feel to the restaurant. Cutting right to the chase. The burger patties are just slightly better quality than a Wendy's burger patty. If that. They are quite a bit more greasy. The toppings are well put together but nothing outstanding. The entire burger once assembled is very tasty and not terrible on the cost. The bun used is your typical burger bun. Five Guys is a fast food joint without the fast and without the convenience of a drive through. They also have fries. Terrible. In my opinion some of the worst fries I've had. They make "Cajun " fries. Just fries seasoned with spices. They are cooked well enough but are still soft and floppy. Just not good. Service is always pretty decent. No complaints here. By far the busiest burger place I've ever seen. Be prepared for a wait at any given time of day. Absolutely terrible! It cost over $45 for 2 burgers 1 hotdog 2 small fries and 2 drinks! And you have to stand in line to order! And there's barely anywhere to sit! And when you manage to get a seat the tables are filthy! And the heat is on full blast when the sun is streaming in the windows right on you! We've been waiting for our order now for 20 minutes! I'm going to say something controversial. You want to hear it? Here goes: Five Guys is better than In N' Out. This place is the king of the "chain" burger places. I tries it for the first time in DC, and was happy that they moved into CT. I tend to avoid chain places for the local eateries, but this is the exception. The menu is fairly simple, with burgers, fries and hot dogs. There are a bunch of free toppings available for the burgers, including grilled mushrooms and onions. Nothing is too exotic or gourmet though...remember, the toppings are free. I haven't tried the hot dogs so I can't speak to them. The thing that sets this place apart is the taste of the burgers. They don't need sauce or a lot of toppings. The fries are excellent too, but be warned, even the small serving is more than enough for two people. As others have mentioned, this stuff isn't remotely healthy - lots of cholesterol, lots of fat. But, if you've walked in the door, you probable already made the decision for a greasy meal. One note: this place gets really busy around lunchtime, and it can be tough to find seating. It's fast food, but a step above the rest. I'd still recommend you try out the variety of great local places first, but Five Guys is a rare exception to the usual chain boredom. read more

After eating at many excellent five guys locations, we feel that this one is definitely the worst. After multiple bad experiences we finally decided we will not return to this location. For starters, $7 for a large fries? At other locations the bottom of the bag is filled plus the cup, feeds two people with leftover. This location must have the cheapest stingiest owner who instructs employees to barely fill the cup and thats it. for $7??? What a total rip off. That was last visit. Today takes the cake. Can't go in due to coronavirus, ok so we order online and wait for our order. They bring us out a brown paper bag with grease spots all over it. We get home 7 minutes later, my wife tries to lift the bag off her lap to get out of the car, the entire bag explodes with grease, fries everywhere, burgers on the ground. the fries that remained in the cup were PURE greasy brown mush. absolutely nasty. A few hours after eating, we both had stomach cramps and diarrhea. This location must have the lowest grade of employee they can locate, minimal brain activity is the requirement. Dont even bother complaining to them , you will only get a "deer in headlights" look. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT EAT AT FARMINGTON FIVE GUYS.
