One of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had at a McDonalds. I arrived at the drive through of the McDonalds at 693 Main St in Torrington at approximately 7:33 pm. I pulled up to the intercom and attempted to place an order. I spoke into the intercom multiple times over a period of about two minutes and received no response, while sitting with my window open in roughly 10 degree weather. I then drove up to the first window and mentioned the issue to an employee who was taking out trash. He told me to explain it at the window. After waiting several more minutes behind other cars, I reached the window and calmly explained to the cashier that no one had responded at the intercom. The cashier immediately became defensive, stated that he was the only one working, and pointed to his headset. When I asked if he could take my order, he told me to drive around again and shut the window while I was still speaking. I drove back around, placed my order, and returned to the window to pay. I attempted to explain that his behavior was rude and asked to speak with a manager or get his name. At that point, the employee and nearby coworkers laughed, and the window was shut again while I was speaking. There was no apology or attempt to correct the situation. The behavior felt dismissive and unprofessional. A simple acknowledgment of the delay would have gone a long way, but instead the situation was escalated unnecessarily. I will not be returning to this location and would caution others about the level of customer service here. read more

So new review, because my last experience was so.... Ugh? I know it's the age of inflation and everything is still unsettled post pandemic, but this was off. In order of ugh-ness, from least to most: - no receipt, which isn't that culturally automatic after all these years? But I can write that off. - this McDonald's has two drive thru order screens, call them A and B. I got behind the car in lane A, proceeded to watch 3-4 cars have their orders taken in lane B, backed out and ordered from lane B myself, and heard the call that pulled in behind me order as well. THEN it seems like they took the order from lane A, because the poor car finally moved forward. - I orded a large drink, and was handed a medium. When I inquired if the size was right, the employee took the drink, poured it in a large cup, and added a bit of ice. ... Surely, reader, the point in questioning was more about the volume of liquid then the literal cup. It's clear, right? read more

We are hardly enamored of this McDonalds -- they do seem to screw up orders more than they should -- but there are some decent things to note here. One, the store always seems clean. Two, the folks who work here really seem to try. One of the things we like is their willingness to take our orders at the register because we HATE the automatic ordering machines (perpetually on the blink, but inadequate and slow under the best of circumstances). The food? Well, it's McDonald's, so take it from there yourself. But -- we think there are genuine positives about stopping here when you need to, and we're happy to point them out. read more

Half of my order is either wrong or missing when I notice I'm either home or at my destination and can't go back I didn't think I have to check my bag at the window before leaving and honestly how can you mess up a sweet tea and a double cheeseburger anyway?? A downright dangerous store, been there 5 times within the past month, not once have I have I gotten my food and had it right, wether it be that they forgot my fries or given me a medium meal when I asked for a large and charged me for a large, the kicker was last night when my coworker sent me to grab some food, he is super allergic to pickles, so I got what he asked, 3 cheeseburgers with NO PICKLES, it even said it on the receipt, low and behold every one had pickles on it, I ended up getting one for myself, and it gave me food poisoning, still feeling terrible, the GM doesn't wanna hear it either, avoid this one at all costs read more

Just gotta laugh go through the drive thru I just wanted a Bacon Cheese Mcgriddle and a hash brown, he asked me again my order I repeated it... Get to the window I said you got that right bacon cheese mcgriddle right? No egg on that? Yes we got that for you miss, okay. I paid pulled off and something told me to not leave the restaurant area, I parked opened up the bag and long behold a mcgriddle with just 2 pieces of bacon on it! Store # 5311 N. Main St. Torrington CT. Worst McDonalds I've ever seen. Can't get an order right for anything in the world. Over the course of many years they have screwed up my order so many times, I've lost count. Forgetting sauces, fries, burgers, nuggets, you name it. I've paid for stuff I didn't even order. I have to go back almost every time, if I don't catch the mistake at the window. Biggest beef is the screw up on the ice. I hate ice in my drink, and they love to load up the drinks with it, even after ya tell em not too. The soda is already cold what the hell do ya need ice for. By the time ya get half way through it, it taste like piss. The only reason I ask for a LITTLE bit of ice in the sweet tea is because they don't chill it. I literally just cancelled my Uber eats subscription because this McDonalds can NEVER get an order right. I ordered a meal that came with fries along with an additional overpriced small fry. I ordered McDonald's off of DoorDash as I occasionally do when at work. When the dasher delivered my food it had the correct receipt taped on it and the bag taped closed. After opening the bag I realized that it was someone else's order in the bag with my ticket taped on it (McDonald's workers do this part). I contacted DoorDash and they stated it was McDonald's fault and that the bag was delivered to the address listed on the receipt (it in fact was). And that we would have to contact McDonald's. I contacted McDonald's just to be told that they cannot help me as I'm working and they can't bring me my correct food or have any delivery service bring it. Then called back 5 mins later to say that the DoorDash driver had shown back up to pick up my correct order and bring it to me (so nice of him). Yet my food never arrived. So myself and another customer were given the wrong orders and it was never fixed. Never got my money back, no free meals, nothing. McDonald's made no effort to fix what they had messed up. And on top of that lied to me about my order being sent back out again. Terrible customer service! read more

Really good during the day. Absolutely awful at night. The night crew is slow, shady and kinda stupid. They cannot for the life of them figure out how to run the two drive through lanes. They will ignore someone at speaker 2 until you finally yell at them. And they never know which order is yours and have to ask when you pull up. Just about every night I've gone here, they will be accepting cash only. Which is just ridiculous and most likely a bs excuse so the employees can pocket the cash. They absolutely should accept debit cards at 8 or 9 pm. They always close down their ice cream machine early even though a manager once told me it was supposed to stay up pretty late. Employees are usually pretty rude. I've had a girl throw French fries at me through the pick up window. That being said she was arrested some weeks later. Most likely from fighting or drugs. She was always screwed up at night. Haven't seen her since, but her replacement isn't much better. Just avoid this place at night unless you're desperate for something to eat and you've got nothing at home. There aren't many late night options in Torrington. So it kinda sucks. read more

I stopped at the Torrington, CT McDonald's in the Walmart plaza at 10:30am this morning. I ordered a shamrock shake and 2 hash browns. I have never seen such disorganized personne. While it only took 3 minutes of waiting at the window for the shake( which had maybe a tablespoon of whipped cream on it), I was then asked to drive around front and it would only be a minute of two for the hash brows. After 6 minutes of waiting, I drove around again to ask where my hash browns were. When I finally got them, they were far from hot. And in all the time I was there and waiting, there were only 4 other drive thru customers. Not going back there again. read more

What concept do these morons not understand about gift certificates being paid for with cash/same as cash? Also, they don't give change back with gift certificates. As soon as I walked in the lady was being rude. She asked me what my name was and spelt it wrong and I told her how to spell it right and she told me it doesn't matter anyways. It didn't bother me that much only a little. The I asked her if I could have a big mac with nothing on it but cheese. When I went to eat the burger had mayo on it I went to the lady and she gave me a new one with the same problem! I told her again and she told me oh I thought you wanted mayo. Then by the third try she got it right. Overall the lady was rude and should be fired. The lady who fixed my order was nice. I hope you learn from my experience. Absolute worst service I have ever received from a McDonald's. We ordered through the drive-thru and were told to park in the front. We waited for 15 minutes before we received our order. As we proceeded down the road we realized we were given the wrong order and had to return to the restaurant. We were told we couldn't receive OUR order unless we had our receipt, which we had never been given in the first place. read more
