We went here again this past Friday (August 2025) and everything was as good as ever. Friendly service and great margaritas! The chips and salsa were fresh and the queso dip with chorizo was great. Entrees were also good and portions are generous. Highly recommended.

I have ordered frequently to go from this restaurant when I went in this Sunday to pick up my order I was a little taken aback at their inspection rating of FAIR.Made me a little uneasy also the fact that it was 5 PM and only one couple in the dining room. I don't know what's happened to this place but I will never go back. The food was inedible when I called to speak to Jose the manager he was rude. Even commented that he has never gotten a complaint about the food which anyone in the business knows that's impossible. My refried beans I poured down down the sink. They were like water. The beef enchilada was flattened like a pancake, hardly any meat in it and taste terrible The chicken enchilada had knuckle meat and balls of meat. It looked disgusting. The guacamole had nothing in it, but onions The manager offered no apologies. He was obviously upset. I was giving him feedback on my to go order in the nicest way possible and when I suggested that they get a discount the next time I order to go, he said we don't do that. That's when I hung up. Terrible customer service terrible food. I wonder what happened to this place

If this wasn't so far i'd eat here more often. I got both my parents hooked on the salsa from here they still ask about it. Portions are very generous, there's always left over to take. Desserts also can't go unnoticed. If you're with a group grab the fried ice cream. Smells amazing, clean establishment, volume stays reasonable even when busy.

This is an authentic Mexican restaurant that is so much fun to go to. The decor is all hand painted and so very festive. I have eaten here probably fifty times but never posted a review. The cocktails are delicious and they are good at customizing any drink request. Definitely get the guacamole with the salsa and chips that they give you. Fresh and delicious. I had the spinach enchilada and I always ask for their hot sauce. Definitely adds a kick. Black beens are purely perfect. Very healthy meal. My diner companion had a omelette beef dish that he loved. Go. You will have fun and leave with a full belly and happy with the margaritas.

Unfortunately, the food is mediocre at best with microwaved textures and seriously lacks any real Latin flavors. Service was careless, and downright rude, taking zero care to seating, serving, packing the take home box (it was nearly thrown at us upon asking for it), and cashing us out. The server was the only staff member seen with only three tables going. They were the host and server which doesn't equal quality customer care. Felt more like rushing us in and out. We took leftover's with us so as not to waste the food, but decided to throw the box away based on the overall experience and lack of flavor. Also regarding food quality, iceberg lettuce and rough cut, flavorless diced tomato does not equal any type of Pico for tostada or taco topping. Invest in Romaine, chop according to texture and add real seasonings to rice, beans and proteins. Pretty sure my shrimp was under-done, so two were left on the plate. The chimichanga was overstuffed with dry, season-less chicken. I could not believe the amount of flavorless food on one plate. Seems like a waste. The only reason I'm giving one star is for the ambience. The decor is quite bright and I do love the Mexican colors, the chairs, wall paint and overall space is very fun and inviting. It's just too bad that the service and food quality is not worth our return business. This place has potential, and I hope the owner's take heed to this review.

    Chicken and Steak Fajitas

Rancho Viejo is a nice spot, with smiling service. Located in a strip mall in Granby, it delivers good Mexican dishes. I had a chimichanga which was very good. So much on the plate. We also had fajitas with steak and chicken. The servers are always nice and smiling but there may be a bit of a language barrier. I am not a fan of sour cream and my dish had it, and my son asked for no tomatoes and just lettuce for fajitas, there are tomatoes under them (you may see in photo). Friday was busy, but our server came to our table 3 times, to take our order, to deliver the bill and to pick up the bill. We ran out of soda and wanted refills, but were not able. Frustrating. (Especially at $3.80 a glass). We had asked the gentleman who walked by for refills, he did not really understand the question, I believe. So yes, the food is authentic! I wish I could help by speaking a second language! The final annoyance of the night was the family with a young daughter who was performing a dance routine in the aisle. It might have been cute for the first minute, but with servers coming by with sizzling plates, or trays of drinks (not for my table!), maybe have your kid perform her routine at home. So, overall things were busy, food was good and service a bit lacking.

My favorite Mexican place in the Granby area. Friendly staff, delicious food, authentic/colorful atmosphere, and you really get your moneys worth with portions. Always my go to stop after arriving back home to the bradley airport. Would definitely recommend.

El Paso Chimichanga, at Rancho Viejo in Granby, CT.
    Tom D.

Extremely average & mediocre Mexican fare. We stopped in today for a late lunch. My wife ordered a shredded beef El Paso Chimichanga, I went with the Camarones al Mojo De Ajo. The wife started off with a margarita -- she told me it was pretty unremarkable. Meals came out after a short time. BIG plates, large portions & filling, but that's about all I can say. My Camarones al Mojo De Ajo was "sauteed in butter, garlic and spices"....mostly butter, that was the overwhelming flavor. Very disappointing. Service was very good though -- the waitstaff were all friendly & attentive. But we see no reason for a return visit to Rancho Viejo. A weak 3 Star rating.

    Rancho Enchiladas

What a find! I was visiting the area and had looked for a place to eat in advance. I'm always looking for good Mexican food, and when I saw this place on Yelp I was sold. The restaurant is big, clean, fun, and the staff were friendly and efficient. I ate a huge basket of warm tortilla chips and a pint of house made salsa, then this huge platter of Rancho Enchiladas. The rice was perfect. My favorite enchilada was the cheese one with salsa verde, followed by the chicken in mole. The ground beef with salsa ranchera I didn't care for. The beans were good, but too watery. I had a tamarind aqua fresca, which was good. For the amount of good food I got, the prices were very fair. I wish there were a solid Mexican place like this closer to me. If I'm ever back in the area, I will definitely return here. Two thumbs up!

    Chips and salsa
    Jen M.

Very authentic tasting Mexican cuisine! They give you a large bowl of chips and salsa to start out which is always a win for me. There are many options on the menu. My mom and I went for lunch so we both got the lunch combo to try different things. I got the chimichanga with chicken and the burrito with beef. She got a chicken enchilada and a beef tostada. Both also came with rice and beans. The portions were very large and everything tasted delicious! The lunch combo is definitely the best deal, but other options on the menu seemed to be on the more expensive side. They seemed to be short on help today because there was only one waitress/host for the whole restaurant along with a waiter who was running food. Despite the two of them running the whole place, they were both very welcoming and attentive. I definitely recommend this place for a fun and authentic mexican meal!

    Chicken burrito!
    Jaclyn S.

I went on a random excursion here with my bestie! The servers are sooooo nice! And the atmosphere is amazing! Sooo cute with all the colours and just how it's decorated. The food was pretty good too! We both got burritos (one chicken one beef) and it was absolutely amazing! The guac is great here and not to mention the chips and salsa. Def recommend this place! You should absolutely check it out. Good vibes all around

CHURROS. Better than any churros you've ever tasted. Guaranteed.

I checked to see how long it would take me to get home since I'm not from around here and the map said about an hour and 15mins. I was so hungry and decided to find a quaint parking spot to enjoy my food. For the first time I decided hmm maybe I should eat this in the backseat in case I accidentally make a mess. (Best idea ever, it's so much better than eating in the front) Anywho all that information just to say that when I pulled my food out, it was in the most perfect container and it was actually plated so nicely. I don't think I've ever had takeout look so presentable lol. I also appreciated all the garnishes that it came with. I got the tacos birria which also came with rice, I think this is the first time I've had a restaurant serve rice with the birria which I also appreciated, as well as the refried beans. I will say I wish the birria wasn't as soft as it was but I'm sure it was because it sat there for a little. No biggie. Everything was tasty, the consome was good, not the best I've had but it was still good! I also got chips n guac which they give you a really nice portion. I'll be eating guac n chips for the next 3 days hahaha Overall I would return and try something else. Their carne asada looks delicious. Thank you

Manny's Pizza was there for a long while and had some of the greatest COVID family meal deals on the planet. After Manny's left, they were followed in quick succession by two short-timers, namely Ana's Kitchen and the Level Up Restaurant. Now, a newcomer has entered the chat -let's say hello to Corazon Tequilero. We checked them out for lunch yesterday. Walking in, our first reaction was how great the place looked! From the neon logo at the entry to the beautiful artwork on the wall space to the new floor planks to the brown and beige furniture- the place is gorgeous and a real step up in class up from the old interior we remember from their predecessors. Our server, Amy, was wonderful! She greeted us warmly and brought over complimentary chips and salsa that was somewhat different from the usual chips and salsa. First of all, the chips were five fried corn tortillas that we broke into bite sized pieces to dip into TWO choices -a salsa and a mildly spiced avocado crema. We started off splitting an order of Esquites as an appetizer. It was sort of a riff on Elote corn, with a dish of Taijin (Mexican spice mix consisting predominantly of lime, chili peppers and salt) spiced corn kernels mixed with Cotija cheese and mayo. It was decadently delicious, and we devoured every last morsel. Our lunch was chicken quesadillas ($12.99) and Camarones a la Diabla ($17.99). The quesadilla's four large pieces was filled with chicken and Monterrey Jack cheese, served with a small lettuce salad topped with scoops of guacamole and sour cream. The quesadillas were topped with a dusting of Cotija and served on a heart shaped plate for an Instagram worthy photo. My Shrimp Diabla was delicious! It was a big combination plate of spicy shrimp with mushrooms, plus rice and beans. I may have had spicier Shrimp Diablos here and there, but the flavor here was wonderful. And as a bonus, it was served with a single tortilla chip piled high with a scoop of guacamole. Both dishes were large enough that half of each came home for dinner in a few days. So, we will end up with four servings for our $45 lunch, and I call that a great value of quality, quantity, service, and any other metric you care to consider. We loved our meal. PRO TIP There is live mariachi music on Thursday nights. You are welcome.

She said they were flavorful and had a great little kick to them. I tried them and was like OK. They're just OK. My three tacos with beef were bland. There was no flavor to the ground beef. I don't even think they salted it. There wasn't any color to it and it looked like it was boiled if you can believe that. Add some lettuce, tomato and standard Mexican cheese, and that was the taco. Did I mention it was also watery on the bottom of the taco, and the taco ingredients fell out due to the moisture. Ugh! Service was good, not great, but good. The restaurant itself was very clean. This wouldn't be a place for me to return to, even though it was less than 15 minutes from my house. So put me in for one and done. The total bill for two lunches, plus one drink and one soda was $66 with tip. I think this lunch visit was way overpriced.
