Taco Spread

Good, cheap, and plentiful portions. A true dimond in the rough, worth a trek Finished up a soccer tournament, looked for dinner and 3 of our options went up in smoke. So we looked for new places, and found this random hole in the wall Mexican place that was still open. So we made the trek to try this place out. The area is in the middle of an industrial park. an off-shoot from the main drag and tucked away. Once inside, the place is fairly nice! Lots of open space, friendly folk, and interesting decor. The chips were fresh fried and salsa was fresh, salty, limey, and very delicious. We opted for 7 tacos, guac, churros, and queso dip. The Queso was tasty, beefy, cheesy, and a great dip. The guac needed a little salt but it was a good chunky guac. The tacos were all solid, but needed sauce to kick them to the next level. thankfully they provided a very good roasted red pepper sauce, a green tomotillo sauce, and a strong brown mole which is earthy and sweet with a little spice. The churros are pretty solid as well. crispy and sugary bits of fried dough. We had plenty of leftovers as well. The price is surprisingly low for the quality you get. The portions are large and with everything being as tasty as it has been, this is a place I would be more than willing to make a trek to. It's tough to find, but if you get a chance feel free to hunt this place down!

You can not fault the food and drink. Fresh and delicious! The service and seating were ok... but not 5 stars. I will certainly be back.

This place has one of the best Mexican food I had. Carne asada burrito was the best thing I had. The rice that comes with it is buttery. The beef taco set was good too. Everything is well cooked and flavorful. They give a hot sauce on the side. That makes everything taste great.

Delicious, but expensive. The guacamole was very fresh, and the service super friendly. Even though I speak decent spanish, something got lost in translation. Horchata, Guacamole & Chips, and a serving of 4 fish tacos w/ tax & tip came to $32. Maybe next time i'll just stick with a torta :)

This was fantastic. I've been looking for great Mexican in the Hartford area after living in Los Angeles and Mexico. This hits the spot. I also love Sayulita in Glastonbury too but this is a bit more casual and has different, more standard menu items. Everything we tried was delicious: carnitas, barbacoa, carne asada, chicken and pastor tacos, as well as taquitos! The tortillas tasted fresh and everything came with a spicy salsa and a fresh pico. Also props for their covid readiness - they had a swipeless card reader, social distancing flow signage and hand sanitizer at the register that is offered before you grab your bags of food. So excited to eat here frequently!

Best Mexican food I've ever had. Charming experience and nice server. Salsa is authentic and to die for. Sopas so tender and fluffy. Civeche top notch and avacado fresh! Prices are best part. Extremely reasonable for what you're paying. Dining inside is open and they also have patio. Charming area in west end. I will be back!

I love to support new restaurants. I love "mom and pop" joints. But this one was the worst. The service was great. The people were kind but the food was not. I ordered 3 tacos. Pollo, carne asada, and al Pastor. All the meat tasted completely expired and they tried to rekindle it with some heat. My stomach was upset immediately. I was sick for the next 3 days. PLEASE be careful if you eat here.

Hands down the BEST Mexican in the Hartford area. I'm a taco-obsessed man; and this place does not disappoint. The guacamole, tacos, tortas, sopes are all delicious! Go and enjoy!

My son let me know this restaurant serves Arethusa Farms ice cream, which is heaven on earth!…read moreImmediately, my husband and I were triggered with heightened curiosity. We visited Arethusa Farms years ago, and we felt like pioneers discovering gold. I digress. I loved our experience at Le Mazet. The food is scrumptious and although the environ is cozy and has an inviting feel of a warm country cottage, the refined service is on par with the legendary Four Seasons Restaurant in NYC (not to be mistaken for the hotel flag). Chef's kiss to Jared and his inimitable staff!

I made a reservation for our visit and was seated promptly at a beautiful table near the front door. The entire dining area is gorgeous--so much attention to detail. Service throughout our meal was attentive and friendly. I had the boeuf bourguignon and it was so tender and seasoned perfectly. I also had the bread service, featuring sourdough from Small State Provisions--the perfect accompaniment to this hearty stew. We both drank Le Poney Roses, which were balanced and beautiful--a fabulous mocktail that really embodies the spirit of a cocktail. We weren't rushed at all and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I will be back for more!

Went for "girl dinner" on a Thursday and it did NOT disappoint…read more They have a special with a kale Caesar salad, fries, and an Aperol spritz for $25! (You can add chicken tenders for an upcharge $10) The drink can't be swapped for another alcoholic drink, but you can switch it for something non-alcoholic if you want. Everything was sooo well flavored. The kale Caesar? Literally to die for. I never take salad home because it gets soggy...but I ate it the next day and it was STILL so good and the croutons were somehow still crunchy The chicken tenders were amazing, the fries were perfection, and even though I'm not usually an Aperol spritz girl, I finished the whole drink 10/10 would go back for girl dinner

Food and cocktails were delicious. We shared delicious Brussels sprouts and chicken wings for appetizers. I had a creamy tofu scramble for my meal. My companions all had egg dishes which they all said were very tasty. For dessert I had scrumptious Tiramisu- not too sweet, just right! My companions had slices of confetti cake - the frosting was meringue! Their specialty cocktails were varied with interesting, flavorful combinations- not the usual. I decided to try a Manhattan instead which was very, very smooth. Our server, Lonnie, was very gracious and attentive. At the end of our brunch she served us sparkling wine, courtesy of The Laurel with a happy birthday note for our birthday celebrant- such a lovely surprise!

Our waitress was absolutely amazing. She was kind, attentive, and whenever something was forgotten, she immediately went to speak with the kitchen and tried to make it right. That being said, our table definitely seemed to fall into a bit of a communication dead zone. My chicken parm was forgotten, and while waiting for it the rest of my family's food got cold. They ended up sending their pasta back to be reheated, which also took a while. Our drinks were forgotten at one point as well, and our to go dessert sat waiting for a long time before anyone brought it over. The food itself was great and we still enjoyed celebrating together, but overall the experience would have been much smoother with better communication between the kitchen and staff. Drinks stayed filled, and the waiter came by to make sure we didn't want any refills on any alcoholic beverages as they were being consumed. He recommended a few appetizers for the table. We got to try the chef special, garlic bread with ricotta, and calamari. All very good. As was the bread and oil that I think comes with every meal. After I heard the specials, I went with the short rib gnocchi, but the salmon with spaghetti squash was a close second. I wasn't disappointed in my dish. It was a really good size and I ended up taking half of it back with me, something tells me it's gonna be even better the next day as most Italian food is. My one regret is that I didn't order the lemon cheesecake to go. All of the desserts sounded amazing, especially the hazelnut tart, however, the lemon cheesecake is super cute and I heard from other people that have been to this restaurant before that it is delicious. Maybe next time!
