Was the best thing i had at the roundup update 5/16/2013 Paddy Wagon was at the Columbus Commons Food Truck Market so I wanted to make sure they still deserved their 4-star rating. Tried the 15 to life brisket sandwich and added bacon. The sandwich had slaw on it and the bbq brisket/slaw combination was special. I had a groupon for Paddy Wagon just sitting around in my phone for some time but I finally got to use it recently at the CD 102.5 summer fest. There was a small food truck court with some of Columbus' favorites. I'm not going to count against them the fact that the lines were long. The trucks didn't open up until 5 pm so everyone was starving! When I got up to the window to order the workers were efficient, nice and moving things along as quick as possible. I ordered the 3rd degree grilled cheese, which I was super excited to try based on some reviews I read here. I can't complain, it was a good grilled cheese. Maybe I had my expectations too high. Or maybe I just hold a place in my heart for some of the best grilled cheese sandwiches I've ever had and it just didn't make the cut. Don't get me wrong! It was GOOD. But not the best I've ever had. I also shared the brisket tacos with my friend. Those are worth talking about! They were full of toppings and meat without being overstuffed and gross. The meat was super tender and sooooo delicious. I can't wait to track down Paddy Wagon and have those again! What I think I like most about Paddy Wagon is that it is a food truck serving quality food without being so pretentious. Yes, there is the funny cops theme (all the workers have t-shirts that look like police uniforms). The brisket sandwich was great. The slaw and the flavor of the sauce together was a fantastic combo. Service took a while but it was during the Columbus Commons Food Truck Festival so there was a decent crowd. The only downside on the food was the bread the sandwich was served on was pretty generic and the chips that came with it weren't too remarkable. I had the delight of getting the brisket sandwich at a food truck festival in Hilliard. I happened to be wearing my old T-shirt from my old restaurant and all of the crew recognized it. They were happy to talk with someone who had been in the industry, and described to me exactly why i would enjoy that brisket sandwich. It was really excellent. Moist, tender and flavorful. Visited this truck at the food truck fest. I got the 3rd degree grilled cheese for $5 and was not nearly as impressed as everybody else seems to be. It was still fine (mainly because it's impossible to make a bad grilled cheese) but wasn't any better than a typical grilled cheese made at home. The cheese was just two barely-melted slices of Kraft American, the portobellos and onions were nothing special. My husband got the 15 to Life which was $8 and just okay. If you get one thing from Paddy Wagon, make it the Bourban Braised Brisket Tacos. Everyone is doing it. Read the reviews. They were AH-MAH-ZING. The brisket was like butter the way it melts in your mouth. There is some slaw thrown in there for the crunch factor and the sriaracha sour cream sauce is something that should be on every food I eat. I want to hunt this truck down wherever they go. The event consisted of having the Paddy Wagon team set up on a closed street in the Linden neighborhood, serving over 150 firm employees, Habitat volunteers, and community neighbors. Anthony and his term served everyone with kindness, quickly serving the large group with no line at any point and ultimate efficency. People raved about the food, saving it was some of the best food they've ever tasted, truly making our event a success, which is unbelievable considering how reasonable the cost was. I don't take pleasure in doing this but feel compelled to give Paddy Wagon this review. My wife, toddler son, and I were at one of the trucks today, standing out in 85+ degree, humid weather waiting for an order of hummus. There was NO ONE else in line aside for some women shooting the breeze with the employee who was taking orders. Over 15 minutes go by and the order finally comes out (throughout this time, there were no other customers who came up to the truck). The description read pita and veggies with the hummus, but all we got was the hummus and pita. It took them over 15 minutes to scoop out some hummus, cut up some pita, and then not even have everything that comes with the meal. Turns out, they were out of vegetables. I asked for my $5 back and promptly left. I hope this was an isolated incident, but I know I'll never be back. read more

It's been a while since I've visited the Paddy Wagon and there wasn't any of my food-truck favorites on High Street Friday. So would my third visit be the charm? Nope. The cool truck and friendly staff are the pros. The Cons? The 15-Life beef was scooped from a warmer, already saturated with sauce, upgraded at $1 per extra (and I received 2 out of 3 that I ordered). The chips were pulled from the bottom of a bag. We get a food truck at work every Friday but today I go out and really wanted to try the brisket sandwich... I asked if I could get onions on my sandwich instead of coleslaw and they tell me they can't do substitutions and I'll have to pay $1 for some onions on my sandwich. I said never mind and left. I posted the ridiculousness on their Facebook and they tried to come back with "generally in the food business" we have these margins for foods but since we use organic ours are higher. I can bet that scoop of onion you would have put on my sandwich wouldn't have cost $1. I would fully understand an up charge on extra meat because it does cost more, but ONIONS?!? I was a food service manager for 6 years switching the 2 items I asked for wouldn't have done a thing to your food cost. Also in the customer service industry I've learned the motto is the customer is always right, is that not the case with your dinning establishment? But then to not only not respond to what I said about their "food cost issue" on Facebook they also deleted the post. So obviously they don't want honest feedback either. I have never had somewhere let me walk away from purchasing their food for wanting to substitute a veggie for a different one, that is just absurd. I've had the food twice now in two weeks, both at the Little Rock location. Both times has been this guy taking and serving the orders and he is a jerk. Don't ask any questions about the food cause he'll give you a stupid look and short answer. They have been out of something both times too and messed up our order. The food is excellent when made per menu. I gave the 2 stars because of the service, not the food or location. read more

Ok, the food deserves 5 stars. I had the brisket sandwich (sans bread) and it was truly delicious. However, the service was horrible. We hit up the Paddy Wagon at the Commons for food truck Thursday and literally waited 30 minutes to get our food!! Too long on a lunch break. My friend, who ordered right after me, had to wait an additional 10 minutes while others who ordered after her got their food first. No apology, no refund, no explanation.
