This outfit is awesome! You would be remiss not to book your trip with Paddle Moab. The entire staff is so friendly and very knowledgable. You don't feel like a number getting pushed through the system. We saw a lot of other outfits sending loads of people on rafts. They looked unenthusiastic to say the least. Plus their rafts were loaded with people. I have hired several guide businesses in different areas of the country. I've been disappointed when I went with the big advertisers with some trendy building. It's the small businesses that really put their heart in to what they do and it makes a huge difference. When we pulled up to the location, I had a feeling it was going to be a great time. I booked a 6 hour rafting trip for today that included my 74 year old mother and my two children (12 and 13). Everyone had an amazing time. Big splashes, lots of time to swim along the raft and tons of history and information along the way. My mom said it was one of the best things she had ever done and my kids immediately asked me if they could go again. The water shooters that were in the raft were a huge hit for my kids who loved trying to drench other rafts we encountered. All of the guides work as a team and you can't go wrong with whomever you get. We were in Jeff's raft. We loved our time with him. He knows so much about the history of Moab, the geology and environment. It was incredibly fascinating and we asked so many questions. We got a chance to talk with other guides who were also full of great information. At one point we looked back at another raft and everyone (including the guide) was in the water floating along with the raft. These guys are legit. They are also the last locally owned guide service in the area. Make sure you tip big. It's expensive to run a small business and they deserve to be tipped well for the experience they provide. Great service and fun area to paddle -- behind Arches Park! Tried to book online on Trip Advisor but dates were to soon for booking. Gave them a call and was able to book for the next day. Since there were wild winds on our booking day, Josh (owner) called and gave us info morning of schedule on what we would experience given conditions. We decided to rebook to following day, and our guide Justin was great! Gave safety tips I did not receive from other outfitters, and gave tips on how to paddle given the windy and stronger current in the section we started in (rest was flat)! A great little adventure company in Moab. They have water and canyoneering activities with the personal touch. My wife and I had reserved the standup paddle-board fun float. Expected a group, but it was just the two of us and our guide Hunter who was great. He gave us great instructions (we were first timers on paddle-boards) and had great insights to the river, area and outdoor activities - bottom line this place is awesome and we had a great time! It was okay, the company seemed great, the guides that drove us out were great, but the guide we had was not engaging, did not have us do much so we sat and were bored, our boat did not have a lot of people wanting to swim and that almost seems to bother the guide we had. Then on a rapid she deliberately turned boat sideways to be funny throwing my wife and I off the boat in the rapids, hit my head twice on the bottom of the boat and my wife was sent down stream. The guide played off as funny, okay falling in is, but deliberately doing something dangerous in the rapid around rocks is not funny. Would not recommend for sure read more

Went on the full-day white water rafting trip. Travis was our guide, he was super knowledgeable of the geography and history of the landscape of the surrounding Colorado River. He was great to chat with on the calm parts of the river too. Both guides whipped up a delicious lunch for a break along the river. My boyfriend and I did the "splish 'n splash" guided SUP tour and had an amazing time! Our guide Jef was awesome and had plenty of cool Moab history tid bits to share with us throughout the trip plus some nice recommendations for food and dining in the area. The popsicles at the end were an added bonus to an already awesome day. Booking online is usually a leap of faith, right? You can read reviews and hope that it's worth it, but when it comes down to it, you're never sure what you're gonna get. I can tell you that we were blown away by the experience with Josh and Justin. From an on-time pickup at our hotel, to a great hike, to a great picnic lunch at a shaded park, and ending up with a fun paddle session down the Colorado River. We had a 1:1 session with Justin for the hike and paddle, so it was great to be able to move around and be at our own pace. My fiance had never paddled before, so he had a good 2 hours to really hone his craft and get the feel of river paddling. Justin was a great guide and a cool cucumber. We enjoyed spending time with him and the driver teams! If you're out in Moab for the weekend, I'd highly recommend the morning hike and afternoon paddle. It fills a full day, as you'll be out from 7am-3pm, but time passes quick when you're moving along. Justin curates for his clients, so be sure to share any important details (i.e afraid of heights, trick ankle, etc). Our hike was definitely off the beaten path and showed us parts of the canyon that you wouldn't normally see. Well worth it and we'd definitely use them again for another visit! read more

Paddle Moab was great! Andrew, our guide, was friendly and informative. We took the longer 9-2:30 trip. We had good conversations while we drifted down the Colorado River. He really knows the area and beers. No real rapids at this time of year but we had fun swimming and rafting with others in kayaks. Andrew made our trip as exciting as possible hitting each small rapid spot. Wonderful scenery! Very safe trip, I highly recommend it. We had a spectacular time with Paddle Moab this weekend! Paddleboarding through whitewater is the experience of a lifetime and we had a blast with our guide, Josh. We went through eight miles of whitewater and still water and it was quite possibly the best thing I've done all year. Very adventurous (expect to fall at least once) but I also felt safe with Josh's guidance and instruction. Highly highly recommend! Paddle Moab will pick you up, provide you with all the equipment you need (board, paddle, knee pads, helmet), teach you about how to navigate the different kinds of water, and guide you through the tricky patches. We brought our own giant bottles of water (very critical), which you can zip in at the front of the board. Things I wish we had done - bring a snack in a ziplock bag. Five hours on the river is a looong time and if you're like me, you'll get hungry. With the wind, it was a good full-body workout. Also, bring croakies so you don't lose your sunglasses, wear lots of sunscreen, and don't forget to wear water shoes or sneakers! Definitely hooked and can't wait to try this again! read more

Worst experience on vacation yet. I came here with my family to paddle board and have fun. The man who drove us to the spot with the paddle boards was late, he made us carry all the paddle boards to the water, and he didn't give us clear directions of what to do after paddle boarding. After paddle boarding, we had to drive miles away strapping the paddle boards to our car. We had to take them to a little dump yard on the street with no signs telling us where to go. Oh, and not to mention, we asked to be dropped off 2 miles earlier because we had a child with us and he could not paddle for too long. The man told us that we would probably only be paddling for 2 hours. Three and a half hours later, and we are not too happy. read more

Totally recommend Paddle Moab! We were in Moab for 3 days and wanted to do something in the water to cool off from the heat. The "Splish and Splash" trip was just what we were looking for!! A balance of small rapids and flat water to enjoy the views. We saw long horned sheep/goats (?) on the bank- so sick! Small group with a great leader, Rachel Anne! We did not rent anything from paddle moab, but we used their services to figure out where on the Colorado River would be the best for us to kayak. We know that most of the river is full of rapids, and we absolutely did not want that. They showed us on a map exactly where we were going to start and finish, and even told us why they were recommending this route instead of the shorter route. They were absolutely correct in every way possible, and I know without their guidance we would have not liked the trip nearly as much because it would have been much shorter and less scenic. They truly know the area like the back of their hands! Plus, it's the owner you deal with! They were extremely knowledgeable of the area, and even had a transportation service where they showed me where to drop our kayaks, where to park our vehicle with trailer, then gave us a ride from the put out point to the launch. Extremely knowledgeable, caring, friendly, and just a good hometown locally owned business! They were also gracious enough to allow us to wash our kayaks off and take a shower afterwards for an extremely small and reasonable fee. After all, water is a treasured commodity here. I absolutely would recommend them for any of your rental needs or local guide needs as they truly care about what they are doing and genuinely have a great time doing it. They also know the best places in town to eat and get a cold brew, which was also extremely helpful after a long day on the river. LOL read more

Our family vacation (three grown boys) took us to Moab, Utah this year and our first adventure was the SUP river tour with Paddle Moab. We went with Sav, a super fun, smiley, and knowledgeable river guide. The trip was a blast, and Sav made it fun, educational, and entertaining - and she combined all three each time she pointed out "rocks that look like stuff!" We loved it so much that we canceled our white water rafting trip with a different company and came back to Paddle Moab for theirs! Our oldest son (21) and I also signed up for a half day of canyoneering. It was (expectedly) a bit physically demanding, but our expert canyon guide, Russ Reali, provided a safe, knowledgeable, super fun adventure worth writing home about. We faced several different types of obstacles and challenges, but Russ made them fun and gave us tips to make them as easy as possible. Russ is also full of survival knowledge, so it was extra interesting to hear about the plant life and rock types, and how they can be used to survive the harsh desert climate. My wife and I went out on a paddle with Hunter and had an amazing time. Hunter was engaging and taught us a lot about the river, the Moab community, and the geology of the area that created the fun rapids we traversed during our afternoon on the water. We went at our own pace and didn't feel rushed, nor did Hunter, an experienced white-water paddler, seem anything less than excited to be out there with us. He was encouraging and knowledgeable regarding techniques which helped us enjoy the experience even more. Stand Up Paddleboarding on the Colorado River with Paddle Moab was one of the best travel experiences I have ever had. From the moment we were picked up on time at our hotel to the last moment on the river, our guide (Josh) provided a wonderful experience. His love for the environment, geology of the area, SUP and the river was evident throughout our experience. Josh led us from flat water through rapids in a very safe yet fun way. We were challenged and also had time to relax and soak in the beauty of the towering red rocks and wildlife. All of the needed equipment was provided and was in excellent condition. The price of our tour was very affordable and worth every penny. I urge anyone who has an interest in SUP and who is in the Moab area to support this business and give the river a try. We signed up for paddle boarding down the Colorado. We had an awesome guide, Abbey, who gave us a thorough orientation regarding proper paddle boarding and how to get back on should you fall in. The experience was great and very fun. My friend paddle boarded in Hawaii and never got the info we got on this trip regarding technique. Abbey is certified as a paddle board instructor. My wife and I had an experience of a lifetime today with Justin from Paddle Moab. We did a 3 hour trip paddle boarding down the Colorado River. They have different levels of programs depending on your experience and comfort level. We did the intermediate trip and had a GREAT time. We called and scheduled a 3:30 trip. My favorite thing to do in Moab! Our guide, Gabe, was absolutely excellent. With a group of 4, 2 of us being experienced on flat water paddling and 2 of us being new to stand up paddle boarding, he was extremely accommodating. We are a group of four travelling in Moab in July. We had a great experience with Paddle Moab. Natalie was an excellent instructor, she taught us different strokes and did some SUP fitness with us. The second instructor was at the back of the group and a bit less communicative. Natalie didn't wait for all six of us to rejoin before she gave an instruction so people at the back might have missed out a bit. The instructors carried our waterbottles and flip flops on their board and had extra drinks, water and snacks for us on the way back. We were given clear instruction, taught a few different strokes and had a mess about doing some SUP yoga/fitness. I did a whitewater trip with Paddle Moab in early March and had a great experience. Josh (the owner) was really cool. He gave me plenty of instruction about how whitewater SUP is different than flatwater. But he didn't waste time either -- we were out on the water and enjoying the canyon with minimal delay. The section of the Colorado River that we ran was absolutely gorgeous! An awesome trip. Couldn't recommend it more highly!
