Cute little coffee shop in Montclair on the main street. They have many different types of holiday lattes right now (eggnog, pumpkin spice, peppermint mocha, etc.). I ordered a regular oat milk latte for my mom and I ordered a oat milk gingerbread latte for myself. It was so good! Not too sweet with just enough gingerbread flavoring. This place was an absolute life savor. I was desperate for fuel before a big hike. This bagel was everything. EVERYTHING I needed AND more in that exact moment. It almost brought a tear to my eye. I live in this neighborhood and usually check them out if I go to the dry cleaners or post office next door. There's a nice family that runs the place, I've only ever had their coffee espresso drinks, I've enjoyed their maple latte and my wife has liked their Earl Grey latte. Ordinarily they would have indoor seating, that isn't happening because of COVID but I have enjoyed their drinks and it's one of the coffee places I go to in Montclair even though there are several coffee/cafe options sprouting up in the neighborhood. read more

What a darling little café! Stopped by this little cutie before embarking on a hike at nearby Joaquin Miller Park. This was my first time ever coming here but apparently it was called Nelly's Java/HL Café before and has been around for a long time. The shop reopened as The Paddington Café and is now under new management. I love the cute and cozy setup and the inviting atmosphere. The design and paintwork are beautiful and I couldn't take my eyes off of the stylish ceiling. Their cafe menu consists of your typical coffee and tea favorites along with smoothies, milk tea, acai bowls, pastries, and breakfast sandwiches. I was excited to see that they had acai bowls here because I've recently gotten addicted to them. What's nice about their acai bowls is that you can create your own (you can pick up to 5 items free with each additional item for $1). Got an acai bowl and a small gingerbread chai latte. I love that you can add different syrups to your coffee and teas! The gingerbread syrup was unique but really good. Their chai was also really creamy which I love, love, loooove! Love me some creamy chai lattes! The acai bowl was well constructed and all of the fruit tasted fresh. Loved the taste of their acai base and the bowl was really filling. Would definitely come back again for another one of those bowls! I think it's awesome that they offer so much variety on their menu. It's a great way to cater to everyone's wants and needs. The ladies behind the counter were pleasant but the cashier either didn't understand the questions that I asked her or didn't know English very well. She may have been a new employee there too. Who knows really, but it would have been helpful if someone was there to answer my questions. This is a lovely coffee shop I've been coming to for a time. The staff are friendly, the coffee is quite good, the pastries are delicious (way better than Starbucks). You really can't go wrong here. A perfect place to get coffee while in the area of the Sutter Health or Stanford clinics. read more

Recently visited the Paddington Cafe for a reunion coffee meet up with a girl I hadn't seen since high school. It was a glorious sunny day and the most refreshing thing I could consider ordering was an iced Masala chai latte. And boy, did it deliver. It was DIVINE. Perfectly creamy and chilled. An absolutely phenomenal size for what I payed. My friend got the same thing. We had a lovely catch up visit over even lovelier tea! Couldn't recommend enough. My only advice? Don't wear straps sandals in late afternoon sun. You will end up with an awkward foot tan. read more

This is my go to coffee shop since the pandemic. The coffee here isn't like the regular. It's not sticky or tastes sugary, the owner uses very organic ingredients that you can actually taste the difference. Food is very fresh and delicious. When I'm in Oakland this is a must for my morning routine. read more

I love their Hong Kong style coffee and the chai bar made with oat, hemp and coconut. I prefer to get my coffee from this small business rather than Peet's or Starbucks! It's really hard for small business owners so please consider to support them instead of the big chains. read more

Perhaps it's just the few times I've been there. But the owners have children annoyingly playing video games loud, so it is very distracting and hard to get work done. If that wasn't happening, it would be just fine. But nothing is more annoying than trying to get work done and listening to two different tv shows going on at the same time from cell phones on high volume. Came here for the second time. The first time I came here I ordered their chai latte and it wasn't bad at all. However, second visit disappointed me. I ordered an acai bowl for $9.50? And the base was super watery. There wasn't the fruity taste that its suppose to have and I felt like I was drinking watery preserved strawberry base...not worth my $9.50-sum. read more

i got an iced oat milk latte & an acai bowl and they were both amazing! the latte had a little foam at the top so im not sure if they steamed it first then poured ice over or shook it but whatever they did its so good! and the espresso was nice and strong the acai bowl was perfect, its a big size and the fruit was perfectly ripe def recommend coming here and crossing the street to enjoy what u got at the park read more
