Just be careful folks... moving plans change all the time, and when I needed to cancel my service on a Friday for a following Wednesday load, I am billed $99.00 cancelation fee. Yes, that probably was in the fine print and shame on me for not seeing it... but I would think with that amount of notice, one would not be billed. I will NOT be coming back to them for anything. PACK AND LOAD SERVICES is recommented by PODS on their website and both companies websites advertise to be expert packers of personnal possessions and PODS. PACK AND LOAD SERVICES subcontracts with companies/individuals they don't vet. One of 3 people in the crew that arrived at my house was on her day off from Waffle House and had never packed before. I believe they put jobs out on something similar to Angie's List, someone is awarded the job and then day laborers are recruited for the job. I started calling to find out when the crew would arrive at 11AM. The crew arrived at 12:30PM, worked slowly, brought no paper, bubble wrap, and expected me to be OK with staying up all night. They didn't know how to pack a POD properly and securely. I was in contact with Pack and Load all day. When I questioned the way boxes were packed or how the POD was packed, the lead guy got belligerent. At 8PM I asked them to leave. They said to me that I was moving and it wasn't suppose to be pleasant. I am a 71 year old female, I had been up since 4AM preparing for what I thought was an 8AM arrival. All they had to pack was breakables, small appliances, pictures, and some garage items. I had packed all the rest. After they left I had a total meltdown and cried for about 30 minutes. I then made some local calls at 9ishPM and secured a local crew to come the following day. They totally unloaded the 1st POD, repacked it, repacked boxes and totally packed the 2nd POD in 7 hours...9AM to 4PM. I was up all night, sending emails, pics, etc, to PACK AND LOAD SERVICES. I also filed a claim for a refund on the $2,000+ I had paid them. To there credit, they issued me a full refund, but that doesn't near compensate me for my time and stress. I don't expect any more compensation, but PODS should not recommend them AND NO ONE should use this company. Find a good local company with verifiable recommendations. read more

I used Pack & Load to pack and unload my 3 pods. Aside from tardiness and slowness, they were pleasant and worked steadily. They did not pack for protection but just to get it done. The company did not advise us in advance they would not take away the mountain of packing paper and plastic wrap or any of the boxes used. They ended up breaking a couple of lamps and smashing to pieces two boxes of dishes. Nothing was particularly expensive and can be easily replaced. I was not overly distressed about any of it. What was very disappointing, however, we found one of two boxes of smashed dishes at the bottom of the recycling container covered with other debris. We found another box of smashed dishes under the mountain of packing paper, plastic wrap and boxes they refused to take away. Clearly both of these boxes of smashed dishes occurred from rough handling. More importantly, they intentionally tried to hide the breakage from us. I filed a claim for the dishes and included the information they had clearly intentionally hid the damage. The company offered me $5.40. They made no comment about the packers' devious behavior and when reminded of how bad it made them look they were not interested in rethinking their offer. It is not about the broken dishes and replacement cost but the dishonesty. I would strongly recommend against using Pack & Load. read more

Horrible customer service, and WATCH OUT for the "Same Day Fee" if you book them and they come the same day you happen to have a storage unit delivered they will charge you $100. They did not do a good job of rapping some of my items. Just stuck them in between furniture, and were damaged. The boxes that I wrote fragile on and told the packer they were fragile were packed under heavy items. They claimed no responsibility and they have some fine print in their contract that says they are only responsible for up to $250 of damage. So look Elsewhere before you let them pack 20 or 30 thousand dollars of furniture. My mistake for not reading fine print or checking reviews which clearly point out that they suck. read more

I was moving across the country for the first time and using PODS for the first time. This was one of the few companies suggested in an email from PODS for packing and loading the container. Their website looked good and the person on the phone was helpful compared with the others. Booking the service went smoothly but unfortunately the packing and loading process ruined my moving experience. The movers arrived late, after the 3 hour arrival window. It was 1 older more experienced gentleman who was on the phone a lot. There were 4 younger men who were asking questions such as "Which side of the box is up?" and confusing vertical vs horizontal. I suspect I smelled weed. They were slow. They did not prioritize items packed into the POD. I planned to have a junk removal company come much later (but same day due to a tight moving schedule) to remove what they couldn't fit and other items we no longer wanted. However, they did not finish before the junk removal company came and left. They did not fit some treasured items into the POD such as a well loved bean bag and baby items but instead got the office chair we didn't care about in. We had to have our realtor find an emergency junk removal company to come to remove items they couldn't fit. It was a terrible experience. I recommend against using this company. I think they are like contractors and the experience is unpredictable. They would not provide the company or contact info for the people they sent to my house after my terrible experience. They did not offer any helpful compensation for the complications they caused. They did try to offer me a discount for unloading services. It was hilarious they thought I was going to pay them more money or ever use them again. read more

Had a pack and load unloading service with a pod. The company hired 'subcontractors' because they couldn't fill their schedule. Two subcontractors showed up, one of which was being trained, while the other was taking conference calls the whole shift. They then stacked as many items they could on ?rolling office chairs which then fell several times. This cracked a $405 dollar item after dropping it on concrete TWICE. Before the second fall, they tried to load it into a cat tree hammock for transport efficiency. The process was also extremely rushed so they could ensure collecting 3 hours of labor for less time. Beware that their 'liability' is only $25 PER ITEM with a maximum payback of $250 for the entire process. For the overall cost, this was actually the MOST expensive service affiliated with pods. Overcharged for services we did not receive, communication with company is basically non-existent in attempting to get refunded, sent other people's personal information, and many broken items. Not just scratched, but broken to pieces. I'm very disappointed and and wish someone from the company would contact me back about how to be compensated because putting in claims is useless. Beware, you may not get what you paid for. We paid for a two men crew to unload container in California. On July 7, 2023, the date of the service, only one man showed up for the unload. My husband ended up unloaded boxes, furniture and helped assemble the bed. Pack & Load Services attempted to call off the one men crew and sent another crew but failed to do so. Pack & Load said that we paid for a flat fee, it does not matter whether one person show up or 2 people show up. They will not compensate us. The fact is that Pack & Load has no control over the movers and we, the customers, have to pay for their incompetency. Think hard before you book for the service. . read more

Do not use this service !!! I hired Pack and Load to load up my Pod container and within 30 minutes one of the movers knocked over 5 boxes of glass that was packed by myself thoroughly and shattered several pieces. They acted as if i was at fault because i got upset and literally stopped talking to me the rest of the job. I should have fired them on the spot but i was under a time crunch. I filed a claim and it was denied because they didnt pack up the boxes..... I am not surprised but expected at least some reimbursement . read more

There isn't a MINUS 10 star rating available for Pack n Load, but there should be. These people at Pack n Load are the kind that are so sweet and helpful UNTIL you have a claim. And then look out because you'll get screwed if you don't read the fine fine print on their contract. First there was major confusion during the two days of loading my POD. It took two days because the correct number of men didn't show up, or they showed up late, or they didn't show up at all. BEWARE! I would suggest not using them for anything. I had a $2800. dresser and a $200. vase damaged and they offered me $25. total for the damages of both items. This report is given as my opinion only! I'd give them 0 stars if I could. The movers showed up for the job, fabricated an "unsanitary" environment (which is easily disprovable via pictures and reports from other professionals who were in and out of the house the same day), and left the job unfinished, leaving me in an absolute panic trying to resolve a cross-state move by myself. They charged $2,907 for the services they didn't render and materials they didn't provide (they did, however, use my own personal materials up so I had to go buy hundreds of dollars' worth of additional materials), and despite having received a final invoice of $375, they have failed to reimburse the more than $2,500 they owe me. I've filed complaints with the BBB, the company itself via multiple platforms, and my bank. The lack of professionalism, responsiveness, and ethics is absolutely astounding. Do NOT contract with this company, especially if you're based in Western North Carolina. (By the way, our area was heavily impacted by Hurricane Helene -- if my possessions that are still stuck at my house because this company failed to do their jobs have been destroyed, this company is 100% to blame. Adding insult to injury-- Pack and Load Services has an A+ rating and 5 star reviews with the Better Business Bureau. *** I have reached out to the BBB as well to have this company reviewed and I encourage other customers that have been mistreated by Pack and Load Services to do the same. *** I wish I had seen these Yelp reviews before. P+L was an absolute disaster from start to finish: 1.) They do not have their own employees doing the move-- they contract out laborers who did not follow any written or verbal instructions I gave prior to the move. 2.) They did not strap down/secure ANYTHING in the Pod, despite straps being provided. 3.) I had ordered additional packing materials from P+L to wrap my furniture. The movers failed to bring those materials and I was still charged $500 for them. 4.) Because the movers didn't bring packing materials, they did not wrap my white sofa or my bed frame properly and both were severely damaged/stained in the move. 5.) They estimated my move to take 3 hours, assured me multiple times they would be finished by 5pm (when my building required movers to stop using the freight elevator-- I get charged $100/hour after that.) They didn't finish until after 8pm. The whole think from start to finish took 9 hours. I have moved multiple times with the same amount of furniture over the years. It has NEVER taken CLOSE to 9 hours. And to be clear this was just to LOAD the Pod-- not to take it somewhere else and unload it. 6.) The movers were extremely unprofessional and took long breaks (knowing I was being charged by the hour). 7.) I notified Pack and Load services of ALL these issues as they were happening. Their customer service assured me I would not be charged for the extra hours past 5pm. I was charged. I was also charged for the materials they failed to bring, and $99 for them to provide a certificate of insurance. 8.) I was trying to save money on this move and ended up being charged the same as quotes I had gotten from professional moving companies but it took 3 times as long and all my stuff was damaged AND customer service hasn't done anything about it, despite saying over the phone that they are going to refund me for the packing materials. Last time I spoke they said they would need to review my phone conversations with their customer service in order to provide refunds for the additional hours. This was on Oct 9. It is now Nov 8. I emailed them last week and heard nothing. Moving isn't an easy experience-- I've had good movers and not so good movers, but I have NEVER felt the need to write an explicitly negative review about any experience I've had up nor have I ever had to ask for a refund for failure to provide certain services, or for damage to my things. Pack and Load loaded and unloaded our POD. They broke our trundle bed. The unloading foreman told us that the loading crew did not properly disassemble and store the bed properly and that this caused it to break. He took pictures and sent them to the Pack and Load headquarters. I filed a claim. They said that we were entitled to $25 for our broken trundle bed, which is of course ridiculous. I very much recommend against using this company as they do not stand behind their work. read more

If there was a way to post a review and give them a 0, I would. They contract with people, they DO NOT have employees that do the load/unload. PODS should remove them as recommended for anything. They completely destroyed a set of oak shelves I've had for about 40 years. I specifically told the mover to wrap them and be careful, since they were special to me and expensive. It cost $1100 to get them rebuilt since I can't find any replacement of the same quality. He buried them in the middle of the load, broken into pieces. He also stole a Makita drill, threw a small set of oak wall shelves on top of the load, unwrapped and unsecured. My outside metal frame picnic table is bent and will never sit level. Pack and Load sends crews with paperwork not filled out with the names of who is supposed to be there, or with no paperwork at all. Their generous offer of $25 for the oak shelves repair was laughable. They quote a contract stipulation when they don't even live up to the contract. They did not place the furniture as per contract where I wanted it because " well it will have to be moved to fix the damage we did." I called to see about having it moved for the floor repair that the claims amount will not fully cover. I called on Sept. 28 and spoke with Christine who as of today, Oct. 20 has not gotten back to me about having someone at the very least move it out the way for repair since it was never put where I requested it in the first place. This is the sixth time I have used Pack & Load Services for my POD. December 28th we used them to unload my mom's small POD of all her belongings to Belmont Village Coral Gables. The three gentlemen were wonderful! They arrived on time and were prepared to start right away. They carefully unpacked all of the items. They placed them exactly where my mom wanted and put everything together. They even made sure my mom's lift chair worked before they left. They were professional, patient and kind. We can't thank them enough. We would highly recommend them and I know I will again in the future. read more

Am very disappointed in the packing and loading services provided by Pack & Load. The whole process was a cluster from the start. Your salesperson (Chris Ford) told me that there would be a crew of four to load my Pods along with tools to dismantle beds, etc. He also told me that the crew would bring rope and shrink wrap. However, on the day of the move, only two individuals arrived with no tools, no rope, and no shrink wrap. Thankfully, I had purchased shrink wrap, moving blankets, and ratchet straps in advance of the move. When I called customer service to inquire, I was told that there was nothing she could do to send the two additional crew members. After observing the two individuals loading the Pods, it was apparent that they were not professional movers and did not follow the loading process outlined in the May 4, 2022 email from Chris Ford. Again, I called customer service and was told that there was nothing she could do. Her only instruction to me was to wait until the Pods were unloaded at their ultimate destination and file a claim for the damages (inferring that my claims would be covered in full). She made no mention that damage claims were limited. It was frustrating to watch them load the Pods, knowing that my furniture would be damaged, and that Pack & Loads' process was to let it happen. I subsequently completed your customer satisfaction survey, outlining the above and received no response from anyone at Pack & Load. I also submitted a claim for damages and was told that Pack and Loads' damage liability was only $25 per item, $250 maximum. Bottom line is that Pack and Load is not a reputable company and you should take your business elsewhere. read more

Pack and Load Services was 1 of 3 businesses recommended by PODs. They were not the least nor the most expensive service. I decided to go with them because their salesman told me: - They supply all the packing materials (boxes, tape, plastic wrap, etc); I didn't have to worry about buying just the right amount. They will only charge for materials used. I only needed to supply two things: TV boxes & moving straps. - They would pack everything & stay as long as needed until the job was done. - They have professional & experienced crews who will disassemble my furniture (e.g., beds) & re-assemble it on the other end. - "We got you"; you have nothing to worry about. My experience with them... They asked me questions about my 1800 sq ft house & belongings, then based on that only (not an on-site visit or survey) they estimated the amount of materials to bring (about 25 boxes), crew size (~4 people), & job time of just 4 hours! A date and time was scheduled. I started preparing everything on my end: disassembling electronics, removing pictures off walls, purging unwanted items, & labeling and setting aside items not to be packed (I have moved many times before). Once done, I called them back to give a count of my pictures & other stuff and suggested they bring more boxes (I knew their original estimate would not be enough). Pack day 1: they were 4 hours late. A crew of 4 showed up. 1 smelled of weed. 2 were experienced & directed the others. The day went fairly well, however, after working well into the evening, they only got halfway done! Corporate office was clearly displeased they didn't finish; not because of the impact to us, the customer, but clearly because it disrupted their schedules and profit calculations. I'm glad I was cautious and scheduled them to start 2 days prior to PODs pickup. Pack day 2: Nightmare day... they were several hours late again, & only 2 people were assigned to show up! Of the 2, only 1 was from the previous day's crew. Both were amateurs. One smelled like weed, again. They were completely disorganized. Instead of packing one room to completion, they would jump around from room to room. I could tell we were running short on space in the PODs & recommended (again) that furniture be disassembled to save space; they said it was unnecessary. They did not wrap up furniture for protection very well at all. They did not pack boxes well (e.g., stacking pictures laying flat instead of vertically to avoid weight or pressure on the glass). They loaded items as they packed them, instead of packing everything first, then selectively picking items to load for most efficient fit. I caught one of them throwing boxes toward the back of a POD to fill all the empty space (due to poor loading). They ran out of materials, so I had to make a run to the store to buy more boxes & plastic wrap. They did not know how to pack large pictures & would unnecessarily consume too many boxes just for one picture. I could tell POD space was tight & time was running out, so I began disassembling furniture. Out of desperation & frustration, I had to direct them on how to more efficiently load the PODs. By the end of the day, they were rushing, growing increasingly more sloppy & careless. When there was no more room on the poorly loaded PODs they said they were done! Many more items were left unpacked from many rooms all over the house; not a single room was completely packed! An entire bathroom was overlooked. Laundry room missed, etc. Apparently, the salesman lied & they will only pack until PODs are filled! They won't pack everything as originally stated. My family & I were left to pack everything & due to their incredibly poor loading of PODs, we had to transport all remaining items (6 hour drives each day for several days hauling items in our cars). I called their corp office & spoke to a supervisor about all the issues (and more I did not write about). Here we are several months later & they still have not replied or done anything about my complaints. This is a terrible company, where corporate has no clue what the crews can & cannot do; crew members are not trained; job materials & time are laughably under estimated; salesmen flat out lie to get your business. If you have a medium to large size house with nice furniture & stuff you love, do NOT use this company. Pay for a more professional moving company or a professional organizer to oversee everything & enjoy greater peace of mind. We were way over charged for the poor service & poor quality we got in return. This company is a complete scam. read more

HORRIBLE. Packed my entire two bedroom apartment in my moving container with no rhyme or reason in a complete mess. When unloading my belongings, I found huge gashed and scratches in my wooden furniture, other furniture completely broken from their "packing method." Are also not upfront about the $300 extra charges they require you to have and only notify you of the extra charges once the movers are there in your home psychically moving your things. This is the first time I have used Pack & Load Services for my POD. On 02/21/24 three movers show up promptly and we could not be more happy with the results! I don't often write reviews but we are so pleased with every aspect of Pack & Load's services that I felt compelled to. The movers were all clean, professional, polite and worked quickly. We hired them to empty a 1,200 square foot house in St. Petersburg, FL. We engaged them for a minimum of 3-hours and they were done in 2.5 hours. We would not hesitate to hire them again. Specifically they have an order sheet that tells us not to show the customer so they can gouge their eyes out when they need more boxes, blankets and services and sign for the product!!! They not only didn't pay me for two jobs because they didn't address issues about a job and we walked off, but blamed us for siding with customer yet it was our fault that we left a job. Doing that last job would've actually been in the negative due to their mistake and the customer would've paid even more ( on top of the 800 plus for unloading one POD)... We went through Pack & Load to move our furniture into a POD for an almost whole-house construction project. From the very first communication (phone call with Michael) to the day of the actual job (several calls from Heather), they were good to work with. Michael's nice, confident manner assured me that they would take good care of us. Further communications with him, he was right there, very responsive to the emails I sent with questions. During the day of the move, Heather checked in several times to see how things were going, very friendly. P&L did contract a local moving company to do the work (they were great as well!). There didn't seem to be any issues with the connection between the two companies, went pretty seamlessly. We greatly appreciated the thorough communication. Thank you! read more

Worst experience ever. Moved every 2-3 years in the Army...never had a problem. One POD packing and these guys destroyed so much. One wardrobe was actually loaded upside down on the bottom UNDER heavy furniture. Contracted with them to unload, but they were "unable to find a crew" so I had to find my own. Unloading team was great and showed me all the damage. One shelf broken completely in half and packed in different parts of the POD. Expensive cherry office furniture needed repair just to be usable. Contacted them and was sent a form to file. After filing was informed that I could only file a claim for a max of $250, but since they didn't unload (defaulted on that contract) I couldn't file at all. Rip off, expensive, and totally incompetent. I loaded the next POD with all the heavy stuff I asked Pack and Screw Up to load myself, and it was just fine. Stay Away! read more

If I could rate this company less than 1 star I would. The team that showed up were in a hurry to get everything load. Even after assuring them I was more concerned about getting it loaded correctly and securing everything down, they moved as quickly as they could through the house. Throwing boxes around and not wrapping things that should have been wrapped despite us purchasing extra wrappers. They didn't give me a count at the end, but of the 60 wrappers we paid for, I'd be surprised if they even used half of them. They did not assess all of the furniture before loading it and we ended up not being able to pack a large outdoor sofa because it was "too tall to stand up in the container. However if they had loaded it first it would have fit along one of the longer walls. I had to ask them to wrap the cushions on a brand new leather couch. I had to ask them several times to be more careful while loading some of the more fragile things. I found a broken pad off of a glass curio cabinet after they left, no doubt because they were shoving it in. They only wrapped the sides of this same cabinet and then tried to load some storage boxes on top without laying any wrapping down. After I asked them to please lay wrapping on top so it wouldn't scratch they did and then shoved the box over so that the paper bunched up and ended up not covering the cabinet. At that point I just wanted them to tie things down and be done. I then called the office to report it and ask that someone else come out to check on the 2nd POD that wasn't fully loaded to make sure that it was securely tied down. I had to call twice and both times they assured me they would get a hold of someone to call and come out. No on ever showed up and me and my husband ended up having to repack and secure it. Our experience with Pack & Load Services was terrible. I booked them on the recommendation of PODS to load our containers for a move. I should have vetted them myself before hiring off of PODS recommendation. Initially, everything was fine. The estimate seemed fair. I have done THREE international moves in which the crew had to pack every single item and box and load a container. I know how long things take and what can be done. This move was state to state, so I could do the packing myself. I had every box packed and ready to go, every single box was in the garage. All they had to do was take apart two beds and pack the TV (I was told they need to Pack the TV, I just needed to provide the box). When the crew arrived everything was fine at first. Then I noticed that one of the 3 crew members was on his phone. He stayed on his phone for most of the time they were there, arguing with his girlfriend on speaker phone. One or all of the crew were smoking pot in my driveway. After the first 90 minutes, in which they made a lot of progress, everything slowed to a snails pace and they were taking breaks more that they were working. One of them asked to jump in the pool (no) and the same one asked if I was getting rid of any food, could he have it. About 15 minutes into the 6th hour, they said they were done. This was after I saw them loading my TV WITHOUT PROPER PACKING into the pod and reminded them I Had a box. First he tried to tack on an hour saying they arrived at 9 on the paperwork. NO THEY DID NOT, they arrived at 10 and I had a phone call from them at 9:50 asking for the gate code. Then he said because they started the additional hour, I would be charged the full amount. I was livid. Once they left, I called Pack & Load immediately. When booking I had spoken to someone at a central office, This time I was patched to a local moved, third party, who when I told her about all the issues, she said this was their best crew and they never had complaints. I told her I would pay for one additional hour (4 total) but NOT SIX because there was no way it should have taken that long to load those pods. She said she would talk to the manager and they would get back to me. No one got back to me and two days later they charged the full six hours. I tried for weeks to talk to someone, ANYONE, to refund me two hours to no avail. My PODS were just unloaded yesterday 3.5 month later by an excellent local company in my new state that I hired directly. Multiple damaged items due to how the pods were packed: dent in the top of my dryer, broken base of a record player stand, broken book shelf, scratches on multiple piece of furniture. A heavy piece of furniture was stacked on top of a box of china marked fragile! Thank goodness I had packed it very well and everything in that box was ok. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! ABSOLUTE TRASH COMPANY. I wish I could rate this company a 0/10. We used this company to assist moving furniture out of our home into our POD. They showed up with two people instead of the three we paid for. Additionally, they did not show up with proper packing materials and asked to use ours. While they were moving the gym equipment out of our basement, they were dragging the metal on the floor, scratching 7 floor panels. They damaged the door frame, leaving huge gashes and chipping on the frame. We asked for them to load the bigger furniture first, they did not and there was so much dead space. We ended up having or order a second POD and pack it up ourselves. The dining table edges were ruined due to the horrible wrap job. We submitted pictures for the claim and were rewarded $0. In the letter they stated that because they did not load and unpack, they were not liable. Will be reaching out to the BBB. read more

I fully and deeply regret selecting this company. It's a complete scam. Most unprofessional, awkward moving experience. Very little communication was possible between us and the crew and I had Terry and Charlene from billing calling several times to interrupt our hectic move day to check in on the crew's progress. They damaged ours walls and banister and made me sign a precarious "pre-existing" damage waiver that didn't make sense. Then essentially rolled their eyes at us when we pointed it out politely. I was told I would receive an invoice with additional fees for the move service tacked on to what we pre-paid and that our card wouldn't be charged prior to receiving this. No invoice has been sent, so no justification has been given for these charges. I checked my card and they processed the payment without my authorization. They almost doubled my original fee AND DIDN'T PACK HALF OF MY KITCHEN. They didn't say anything about it either - we found out after they left and had to spend the rest of the night finishing the job. We had underestimated what would fit in our POD so they possibly thought they didn't need to pack anything else up but they didn't communicate what was going on. DO NOT CHOOSE THIS COMPANY. read more
