Just hire a local company and cut out the middle man. We booked pack and load services for a move from Texas to Louisiana. We were unaware they just contract local movers to do the job until we got a call a day before our pod was set to be loaded that pack and load services aka pods had double booked them. The local movers proceeded to call me up until 10 pm that day changing times. Finally they canceled and pack and load had to scramble and find another set of local movers the day of. The local movers for both packing and unpacking our pod were fine. For the unloading process pack and load charged us for a full hour instead of 30 minutes despite the movers rushing to leave because they had another job. When I call to sort through the issue they would only tell me to email billing - who never responded. read more

This is by far the worse moving experience I ever had. This company send 2 guys to my home. They were supposed to be there for 3 hours. One of the guys left my home leaving James alone doing the job. My dresser is broken, my crystal chandelier is broken and my beautiful expensive white leather sofa has moving dots all over. The leather professional guy spent literally 2 days in my home trying to eliminate the dots, he dyed the sofa and still has dots all over. The way they packed was not correct, and the guy who left told me he's not a professional. So this company hire people with no experience and they provide no experience to them. Badly packed a POD with antiques in it, ruined $30,000 worth of antiques, which crashed around, breaking every item in the POD. To boot, customer service was incredibly rude. I want my money back, but they just want to scream at me and tell me that it was packed correctedly. They used TWO of the TEN eye screws in the POD, and TWO of the DOZEN rachet straps I supplied. Since it was shipped from my mother's house, I was not there to supervise. But they were supposed to be professional movers. The guy who delivered the POD could not believe how badly it was packed. Do not use these services!!! Poor packers. They didn't finish the job and then tried to blame us that we didn't order the right services. They are the professionals that should be advising us as to what we need to move. They didn't use enough blankets or wrapping to protect our furniture. The movers helped themselves to drinks in our fridge and snacks without even asking. I had some jewelry disappear. It has been a horrible experience. The call center staff were not helpful and didn't seem to care that the packing wasn't completed. My husband worked all day with the Packers and it still wasn't enough to get the job done. The head packer told us the first night not to worry that it would get done, but it sure didn't. Now we have to finish the job ourselves in the next 2 days. Pack and Load was highly recommend to us by PODS, unfortunately, our experience was less than desirable with them. We hired them to pack several rooms and load the rented POD. The guys showed up on time from what I remember, one was more the senior, both courteous. I tipped them generously thinking everything was wrapped and packed carefully. However, when it came to unpacking the POD at it's finally destination I can't tell you the countless family heirlooms that were damaged or completely broken. It's heartbreaking knowing that these pieces of furniture had been refinished and now had huge scratches, dents, chips and broken off legs. I contacted the company immediately after many attempts of e-mails bouncing back and unanswered phone calls I finally heard from one of the owners. It would cost us thousands of dollars to replace these pieces that belonged to my great grandmother and parents. Miscalculated load size - Pack & Load grossly miscalculated the size of PODs needed, so I was forced to leave behind many treasured items (large silk palm trees, tool boxes, shelf unit), in spite of them reassuring me several times that everything would fit in my PODS. Theft - During packing, a Pack & Load employee stole a locked metal box and a ring. Fortunately, the company did recover my ring and I appreciate their effort. Damage - Pack & Load packed my TV in a TV box. It was so jammed into the POD that when unloaded, they had to twist the box to get the POD door opened which damaged my TV. Pack & Load packed a box with an arrow pointing up with large pictures. They delivered it upside down, with several pictures inside damaged or broken. Several of my wicker dining room chairs had scruffed spots because they were not protected enough. Insurance Virtually Worthless - Reimbursement for damaged items is based on weight at 60 cent per pound - big mistake. They only allowed $25 for my damaged $515 TV based on weight. I guess I would have only gotten 60 cents for my $1000 ring if it had not been recovered! Neither PODS nor Pack & Load responded to my complaint letter. read more

I have filed the following complaint with the BBB: I filed a claim on a web form on December 30 and again in writing within the required time frame per the claim requirements of Pack & Load Services. I was advised that the claim was sent to an adjuster but the company has not responded to my claim for a marble-topped coffee table that was destroyed by the mover valued at approximately $1000. In addition, I filed a claim requesting the reimbursement of an $85 fee I was charged for a bulky marble table top that they did not actually unload. Furthermore, I asked for reimbursement for the approximately 1.5 hours I was charged for the time the crew spent getting their truck unstuck from a muddy road. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would. I moved out of my house in NY in 2023, in the middle of a divorce. The items were going to be in storage for an undetermined period of time. I opted to use PODS and found Pack & Load through the PODS website. I had marked all the items I wa taking with priorities sure that they would not be able to fit everything in one 16 FT container. But they did! Fast forward to 5/1/25. I finally was moving into my own place and had the POD delivered. I hired Pack & Load again to u load the POD and move everything into my new home. My precious stuff was packed and wrapped so well by the NY team that when the FL team unpacked it the furniture didn't even have any dust on it! and the FL team was as amazing as the NY team. Don't just steer away from this company, run away as fast as you can. I hired this company to assist my 89 year old widowed mother in law move after being displaced by a fire at a neighboring apartment. The estimate was for 3 people for 3 hours to pack and load a 900 SQ FT apartment to a POD, then return in a two months later to move her into her new apartment. I live in another state and was not there for the load, but was told by my Mother in Law that the three movers sent fooled around a lot and were not really focused on the job, resulting in taking almost three times longer than the estimate at a cost of almost $800. When the POD was redelivered and opened, it was an absolute mess inside, none of the wood furniture was covered by the 25 protective paper pads we were invoiced for, the only furniture covered were those with drawers and only covered with shrink wrap to keep the drawers from falling out. I had the movers focus on bringing in the furniture and assembling it, while I unloaded the loose items and boxes. I noticed that while unloading, the boxes we invoiced and paid for were not supplied, no paper pads, we were charged for 25, No expensive dish pack boxes were used, yet we were charged for 3 or them, no expensive wardrobe boxes used, yet were were charged for 3 of them, resulting in all of the clothes on hangers being stuffed into large boxes, completely wrinkled; resulting in us being over charged for over $335 dollars in packing materials charged for and not supplied. I contacted Pack and Load and spoke with Christine, she informed me that my Mother in Law signed for the Packing Materials, although my Mother in Law just signed where the mover told her to sign, as the POD was already packed, she wasn't in a position to verify what was already loaded in the POD. When I brought this up to Christine, she insinuated that my Mother in Law was incompetent, and we should have supplied an advocate to assist her, which is not the case. I sent pictures of the boxes unloaded, and the over charge to us, along with several follow-up emails, with no response from Pack and Load. They didn't close the Pod door and when I went to investigate, it was because they had put things in wrong and the door could NOT close. The Pods manager came out to help me and ended up removing about half the items in the pod and repacking because it was done so poorly; he showed me several items that would have broken during the trip! Paid a premium for the worst moving company I've ever hired. Arrived 8 hours late on the scheduled day and loaded from 4pm - 8pm for a POD and U-Haul. I loaded half of the U-Haul myself while waiting. They would have been working until 10pm otherwise. I still had to drive the truck and unload locally the same night. This was supposed to be the highest recommended partner from PODS. They were more expensive than anyone else. We selected Pack & Load at the recommendation of PODS. The contract was to load 2 16 foot containers which included an upright piano. We asked the movers to load the piano first but they would not do it. At the end of loading we did not have room for the piano and had to get 2 U-Haul UBoxes to complete the loading. We had to pack the UBoxes and move the piano ourselves. The loading crew took their time during the loading process which resulted in 3 extra hours of billable time. I called Pack & Load to dispute the process and the lady was extremely rude and told me she wasn't doing anything to make things right. We will never use Pack & Load or PODS again under any circumstances. On a positive note, the U-Haul team was exceptional and helped us out of a tight predicament. read more

I was told they had a hoisting device, but in reality it was some rope and a ladder and we pulled it up to my balcony. Pack & Load Services was one of the services recommended by PODS; therefore, I felt safe hiring them to pack up my townhouse and place all the boxes and furniture inside the PODS unit for cross country travel. I should have just hung up the phone with my first contact which was very unpleasant with the person having a very unhelpful attitude. On the day of packing, things started out well with the 3 men packing up my belongings (there was a lot) and receiving calls from the main office asking me how everything was going. As the POD unit starting getting fuller, I checked with the lead person about my washer and dryer, reminding him that they needed to be included. His response was "don't worry, let us do our job". This conversation happened 3 times. Long story short, they did not load the washer and dryer and unfortunately took off before I noticed. When I finally did notice, I immediately called their main office and asked if they could come back. I was told that they would come back but I would be charged another full trip charge. Sparing the details, I hit a brick wall and their true colors were apparent. It cost me additional money to have a taskrabbit person come out and help me empty out the front part of the container in order to make room for the washer and dryer. I was so angry and stressed out because we were working on a tight timeline. Please do not use this company even though they are listed on the PODS recommended list. Gave details and size of move over the phone and was told it could be done in 1 day no problem. We disagreed but was told it was there normal. Unloading was as bad, 3 men to unload and were rushed and did not effectively complete the job. They were rushing to leave at the end and just piled everything on 1st floor inside front door. She promised to look into our concerns and get back to us, but it took her ages to respond, and when she did, it was nothing but excuses. We engaged their services for a long-distance move, and it was a total disaster from the beginning. * GROSSLY INACCURATE VOLUME ESTIMATE: We meticulously itemized our belongings and were given an estimate for the number and size of the PODS containers we'd need. Despite our thorough planning, they somehow miscalculated, and we had to scramble to get an additional PODS container, extending the packing process by a full week. * BAIT AND SWITCH TO A SURLY FOREMAN AND UNEXPECTED CHARGES: On packing day, the foreman who showed up was not the one we had spoken to previously. He not only knew nothing about our discussions but also insisted on charging us extra for packing items into boxes, which was included in our initial agreement. Plus, his surly attitude made the situation even worse. * INEFFECTIVE TEAM OF "PROFESSIONALS": Their so-called "professional packers" turned out to be anything but professional. One would wrap a table while the other two watched him work. My wife and I were carrying boxes into the POD to help speed up the process. In 4 hours of work I had to tip them and let them go due to lack of efficiency. The company does not stand by their work, their lack of accountability is not a good reflection on them or PODS. I would personally steer clear of this group. When you are working with Strict timelines and you are promised one time and they show up 24 hours later it is inexcusable. When they tell you they are sending their best team and you get treated this way it is both frustrating and exhausting. I Paid over a thousand dollars to have 3 men fill one POD 3/4 full. When I pointed out the numerous communication issues and lack of efficient work with their customer service group I was only provided a stock answer of we will look into this with management. After 5 calls into their group I still did not receive any ownership, or compensation. I was offered a discount on my next move. First of all, the company changed the date and time of the packing day on me three times, which was incredibly stressful and made it impossible to plan well. Once they arrived, the crew griped about the narrowness of the house and the amount of material during packing all day. And they left trash everywhere, even though trash bags and a trash can were clearly visible. They would drink my water or cans of soda and crumple up the empty containers and leave them on the floor, the piano, the counter--anywhere but the trash can. They dropped an expensive shelf and left a huge gash in the wall in a very visible spot that could not be fully repaired. They were not careful in packing. Parts of my water feature wound up in three different places and the entire thing broke during transport, along with solar lights, a chest of drawers and many other things. When booking, Lance promised me that the unloaders would be able to help move pre-existing furniture around in the house I was moving into before unload. I was moving in with an 80 year old to be with this person in final years of life who could not move his own furniture. I booked the move predicated on the promise that the unloaders would be able to rearrange some furniture in the 80 year old man's house prior to unloading. That was the SOLE reason I booked this company--because of that promise. However, upon arrival the loaders refused to move any pre-existing furniture or to unload anything at all because they were allergic to cats. They left me completely in the lurch. I only wanted a few things unpacked and many boxes left in the pod or garage and had made space for the things I needed in the house right away, but they said there was no space to move in--wouldn't even unload in the GARAGE, and left. I have never dealt with such a fiasco of a move before. I've moved nearly 20 times in my life and this was the worst experience I've ever had. I haven't been able to get into the boxes yet to see the quality of packing, but based on the amount of things they broke WHILE PACKING (wall gash, $1000 shelf, large water feature, chest of drawers, vintage toy), I shudder to think what I'm going to find when I DO unpack. I already know my $600 interior water feature is trashed, so is my back yard solar lighting, which was not packed in a box and broke in pieces, a $1000 shelf, and everything else previously mentioned. And I was charged $3100 for the privilege. I would never, ever use this company again. The move in day was only salvaged after I called a "same day" moving company who showed up within the hour and was able to unload the pod into the garage and the major pieces of furniture into the house in just one hour. (2) CFO of Pack & Load yelled at me and my Mother. At the TOP of his lungs and told us he only had to give us $25. (3) Attempted to force us to complete the form that says that they are only liable for $25. Do NOT complete that form. Instead, type your matter on letterhead. (4) PODS felt so horrible that they gave us a $375 credit. (5) When Pack & Load finally agreed to reimburse us for the treadmill, they tried to be slick and sent a link for a old model from Dick's, but then wouldn't pay the shipping and assembly. So they gave us cash but now we have no treadmill. (6) Unprofessional workers. Asked me how much I was earning for the sale of my house. (7) Workers apologized for DESTROYING the treadmill and then said, "Just call and get your money. They have insurance!!!" Worst experience ever. Horrific. read more

They did not pack the furniture or exercise equipment as requested, provided rude and unprofessional help and failed to fulfill their contract overall. When asking for an estimate make sure you do not let the customer service specialist book the estimate. Do not give them a credit card number. I felt tricked into giving a booking date, ended up cancelling due to scheduling and zoning issue, as per their agreement they charged $99 for cancellation fee. Do not give Pack and Load your credit card number when asking for a quote. read more

Terrible experience! Requested afternoon appointment and nobody would communicate with me as to when the guys would show up- not even a window! They ended up showing up at 7pm which was too late! The guys were exhausted and so was I. They had to drive 100 miles from their previous job and took their time! I was very disappointed and didn't get the whole move done. read more

Just making sure that everyone is aware that if this company damages your furniture while handling it they will only pay you .60 cents a pound up to $25 in damages per piece. While unloading our POD, one of the movers damaged our brand new dining room table, which was not involved in the move, while carrying another piece of furniture. I think they should have to pay for the damage. What if one of their employees dropped a big hutch down the steps damaging the house? They would certainly be liable for damages. The company sent me a bunch of forms and after a month and agreed to pay me $25.00. I can't believe this company is associated and recommended by PODs. I would have thought that someone should have called and apologized and at least offered me a discount on my order. read more

We used this company to pack and load our PODS for our move from Tucson, AZ to Huntsville ,AL. It was a nightmare. Things were thrown haphazardly in boxes. They literally just dumped drawers of stuff into boxes, no wrapping, no padding. Dishes were taped together and we are still working to remove tape residue from our dishes. Our dining room table and sofa table were destroyed because of the way it was dragged across cement and loaded in the PODS without padding and standing on their edges even though we supplied multiple blankets. Cabinets were loaded on their sides paying no attention to what was in the drawers causing loose items to shift and in some cases requiring furniture disassembly on the other end just to be able to get the drawers open again. After weeks of unpacking we still can't find things because nothing was packed with similar items. In some cases items were actually placed into bins that had been sealed by us containing XMAS items. We have moved long distances across the country several times and we have never experienced a worse move. These people were hired off the street and had no clue how to pack or load anything. read more

The absolute worst, most destructive move I have ever encountered. They destroyed my furniture, they didn't know how to pack or stack the boxes, as they were thrown around like Lincoln logs. They didn't use the blankets or all the ratchets and did not wrap the furniture as promised. The ratchets they did use put gouges into the wood of my furniture. They put a wire dog crate on top of a beautiful wood farmhouse table. The top is now destroyed. Three men had absolutely no idea how to pack a POD. They assured me that this was their expertise. They left the job without completing it. They forgot a whole closet and I had to turn around and go back the next day so they could complete the job and then they had the nerve to charge me for coming back. I am furious!!!
