Yelp page says it's not by appointment only so I came in on a Wednesday afternoon with no appointment. There was only one customer inside getting a pedicure and one other nail tech who wasn't doing anything. I asked for an acrylic fill with regular polish and they told me they didn't have any time or openings because there was another person coming in 10 minutes. Ridiculous because the shop was completely empty besides one person. So I'm guessing they can only take one person at a time. *Rolls eyes* They were not friendly and obviously didn't care for my business so I'll gladly take my money elsewhere. They didn't seem like they have many regular polish options either. Terrible selection and customer service. read more

I went here for the first time after seeing they're a bit cheap and have some good reviews. They were very welcoming and nice. But unfortunately, the gel manicure and pedicure I had was poorly done. First, the polish painting was horrible, missing some spots and uneven at the sides where some polish piled up. After 2 days, the skin around my nails were peeling off because she removed too much healthy skin. Then, just after 4 DAYS, some of the polish is already chipping off. She was really nice but a bit too hard with her grip when she holds my fingers. Good customer service but I won't be coming back again. They're only a few dollars cheaper than other nail salons but the quality is just bad. read more

I was stranded at the 76 because I dropped off my car to get my oil changed and didn't want to uber home. I needed to kill at least 2 hours so I yelped for a nail salon since I was needing to get it done anyways and luckily found this sweet gem. Thankfully it was across the street. I walked in at 1pm and both of the ladies were with clients. In Vietnamese, I said that I didn't have an appointment and the owner (Jeanette) looked into her appointment book and asked if 1:30 would be okay. I told her that that would be perfect and sat down. She continued with her client but she was still kind of talking to me (asking me what my name is, where I'm from) which is truthfully sweet and heartwarming for me because it reminded me of home. I'm from SoCal so the Vietnamese community is larger than Pacifica/Daly City at least. Anyway, I tried to cut the conversation short because I didn't want her client to become upset that she wasn't getting focused on. Jeanette finished her client at 1:27pm and had me sit down on the chair for my pedi. Perfect timing. She started working on my toes, having very nice conversations about life, marriage and school. Normal salon topics IMO. A few minutes later the 2nd lady join. Her name is Lan and she worked my nails good, girl. I wanted to keep my stilettos and she kept it fierce. Not too sharp but not almond either. Just right. They both worked so diligently and it felt so nice to not be in any rush or to feel rushed that there's another client waiting to be helped. I felt 100% there because they were just so..genuine. Anyway, Jeanette finished my feet and I walked over to the table for Lan to do my gel. We went back and forth on a couple designs. She gave me her opinion but I politely declined and wanted to go with my idea. I also wanted gems on my ring and pinky nail and she seemed a little nervous to do it because I don't think many people come into this specific salon to do design. I think only locals come in for simple things. Lan was hesitant but she did it any way and she did it so well. She never complained or grunted or even gave me a bad look. I felt bad for having her struggle to do it because it took a while since the gems kept coming off but she was persistent and I was so thankful! Jeanette came over a few times to check up on us and my nails too which is nice. Overall, wonderful service. Sweet, older, ladies who I almost felt gave me a bit of their maternal side too since we became comfortable enough to talk about marriage. LOL. They have a good variety of gel colors. I came here two days ago to get a standard mani/pedi and I think I've finally found my go-to nail salon from now on. I've been going to Westlake Nail Spa for the past 4 years, but I've never been more satisfied with a mani/pedi in my life until I went to Jeanette! I walked in around 4 PM on a Saturday. They took me in without an appointment and did not make me seem like I was a hassle. It was only Jeanette and a younger lady working. And there were two customers getting a mani/pedi as well. I was seated pretty much within 5 minutes of me getting there. They had me choose my color and then have a seat. Jeanette was very courteous of my liking towards the temperature of the water. She made sure that it wasn't too hot, but also warm enough to be relaxed in. They don't have any high end spa/salon decor and appliances, but simplicity is beauty in this nail salon. Their customer service soars through the roof! I've never felt so relaxed in my life while getting a mani/pedi. I came after a long day at work and I was actually starting to fall asleep in their massage chair! (lol) And not once did I feel rushed at all. They really took their time to make sure everything was perfect and I loved that. Usually whenever I go into nail salons, the staff will start talking to each other super loud and start laughing, and of course I don't truly understand what they're saying, but it sort of makes me uncomfortable because I'm not sure if they're talking about me or not. When you're here, you can tell the staff really respects their customers. And makes them feel welcomed and at home. They don't talk much to each other because they're so focused on doing a great job on your nails. One more thing is that the appliances they used to dry my nails, I have never used before. But hell, they dried my nails super fast! Usually when I go to other salons it takes me close to 30 mins to dry my nails under those UV lights and it still never dries completely until later on in the day. It's a little frustrating. But here, it's different. The polish dried super shiny and flawlessly. No bubbles or scratches on my nail, which I always got at Westlake Nail Spa. I'm so happy with the end result, I can't stop looking at my nails. Not to mention the price is super affordable. Only $28 for a mani/pedi! I will definitely be back in the future. First off, I think you should not write reviews on here if you were not served and you judge a place because you were denied. I came in here and it was quiet. I did not have an appointment and I got a manicure done. My nails were done wonderful. One of the ladies cleaned my nails and cut off the cuticle multiple times and made sure it was done perfect. Although the dry time did take long because the nail polish was a bit thick on application. I am okay with that because thinner polish means chipping sooner. Thank you!!! read more

Quality over Quantity This afternoon, Monday, June 18th 2018, was my very first time at PBS. I called in the morning to make sure there was an opening. Lynn answered the phone and told me to come in at 1:30 this afternoon, as she was booked all morning. I got there 30 minutes early and was seated at a pedicure station immediately after I chose a color. She was working on one of her regulars at the manicure station. I didn't mind as my feet were soaking in a hot foot bath - ahhhhh so relaxing. I loved my foot and leg massage. She took her time with my feet and getting my nails and polish just right. I hate when I get a rush job. My feet were "happy feet". I had an eyebrow wax as well. She took her time with my brows - waxing, plucking, making sure I was satisfied with her handy work. 5 stars for my pedicure. 5 stars for my eyebrow wax. 10 stars for Lynn for her excellent customer service and attention to detail. I wish I can go this Salon more often, but my schedule is too tight, I only try to walk in to get my nails done. LInda, the owner is really nice and accommodating. It is always nice to know that your favorite nail and facial person remembers you. I love that about this place. I am filipina so I like my cuticles clean and Linda can do that, not exactly as how we do it Philippine style but very close to it. I always go there when I can, if I can walk in. My regular place was packed today so I used YELP to help me find possibly somewhere new to get my eyebrows done. This place had some great ratings so I figured I'd give it a whirl. I have the type of brows where you have to make your own arch. The lady totally ruined my eyebrows. I walked out of the place looking like Spok from Star Trek and they are totally uneven. I don't even know if this is friggin repairable with make-up. Needless to say I'm completely furious right now. Oh and to top it all off she burned my skin. She is really kind and did not rush me. She really paid attention to shaping my nails. For $10 that was a wonderful experience. Will come back for basic manicure experience. However for pedicures I would do a deluxe pedicure at refresh nail salon. Though I must note that I walked in and they were both giving this lady a great massage so it's not that bad. I have been coming here for a long time. Why? Jeanette, - the owner and lead cosmetologist, - is sweet, nice, attentive and a very good manicurist. I routinely come for pedicures and fill manicures (acrylics) only but they also do offer waxing and facials. Pacifica Beauty Salon is very clean and relaxed place. There is no rush and I really appreciate that quality in a salon. When I leave my fingers and/or toes always look terrific and the nails and color last for quite a while. At other salons I would experience polish pealing, acrylic chipping or lifting prematurely. Here that's not the case. Jeanette and her crew are very careful, precise and professional. Also, I have never gotten a fungus or any other irritation at this salon. They keep sterile tools and are always cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. Understaffed or they do no seem to accept walk ins. My husband and I walked in just now to get a well deserved pedicure. There were 3 staff members two of which were busy so I let the remaining staff member know we would like to get our pedicures done together. She responded by saying she could not do that. My best friend and I came here for spa pedicures. She moved here from NH and we drove across the country to get her, the dog, her car and her stuff so we were dying for pedis. They take walk ins but we made an appointment. The salon is clean and all the tools came out of sealed packages. They have a lot of colors but they weren't organized in any way (the only con). They cleaned the tubs after we were done, while our nails dried under a dryer. The pedi was great, a leg massage with warm lotion, hot towels, and the color came out great. I hadn't realized I had a broken nail on my foot that would have caused a problem, if she hadn't told me and then offer to glue the nail! What a sweetie!!! I was seeing a podiatrist for foot issues that he could not seem to correct. I was referred to Lynn by some relatives that were being seen by her and decided to give it a try. I called her and got an appointment right away and she is just as good as everyone said. She goes the extra mile for comfort, sanitation, and knowledge of the foot and nails is outstanding. My feet have never looked or felt better in my life. I would recommend Lynn over any podiatrist for nail and foot care pedicures. I will continue to go there and she is highly recommended. The worst manicure I've ever gotten. I went in with long, beautiful, stiletto nails and came out with goopy lumps. I got an acrylic fill with gel polish and I've never been more disappointed. I asked her to shorten my nails, not change the shape completely. Now my nails aren't don't even look the same shape wise and the acrylic underneath isn't even. My cuticles ate flooded with acrylic and polish and on top of that dried powder and polish stuck all around my nail on my finger. Never coming back. Don't waste your money. read more

I called at 930 am and made an appointment for 11am the same day, no problem. I had a half leg wax, eye brow wax, mani and pedi. Jeanette did the waxing and her employee Lung did my nails. Excellent and friendly service for both. I was given plenty of time for my nails to dry and there were no mistakes when I left, either with hair or nails. The wax wasn't too hot. The massage chairs worked well. The shops were clean and Lung did spot cleaning while my nails were drying. I really can't think of anything to complain about. My total was $66 including a tip. I've regularly paid $30+ for a manicure at other places. I was happy to see that Jeanette obviously knows a lot of her customers that walk in as she asked about their families and exchanged pleasantries. I have been to this place 3 times and never once been disappointed. The staff is courteous and their prices are very very very reasonable especially for waxing. They accept walk ins for the most part but when they are busy they will ask for you to make an appointment which can be inconvenient. The reason why is that they don't rush the service for the clients. They are more personalized and meticulous with their work. I ditched Southland Nails which is closer to where I live. First time here tonight. I went for a waxing-- feet, full leg, bikini (regular), underarms, lip, and chin. I think all that for $75!! My husband had a pedicure. Not sure, but I think it was about $20. Great prices! Jeannette ( I think I got her name right) did both. (We took turns since we came in with my 6 month old) I called ahead to make an appointment since I wanted a lot of waxing done, and wanted to make sure they could do it since we were coming out with the baby and all. My husband did not make an appointment, but asked when we got there if she had time after my waxing, she did. They do take walk ins. When you come in, they have 4 chairs in front with those fast dry machines, so you can wait there or sometimes mani's are finishing there. Behind that are pedicure/massage chairs on one side, and mani tables on the other side. Behind this are two enclosed rooms, one for waxing, one for facials. The waxing went well, she did a great job! This was one of the least painful waxings I've had. And, no red bumps or welts! And, so far my upper lip has not broken out! (It often does after waxing) She used baby powder first in many spots, and did a great job cleaning up/removing all the tiny leftoever bits o wax here and there; She also rubbed on a bit o oil in any of the stickier spots. My husband really liked the pedicure. Nice massage chairs, warm foot soak. Jeanette gave him a quick foot rub, and trimmed his nails and scraped/smoothed off the dead skin on the bottoms. I'm jealous! Can I just say a first impression is a lasting one. With that said l can proudly say I've found my new favorite nail salon. Jeanette is so warm and welcoming. I love that it is a small establishment, so it is not crowded. The place is very clean!!! The techs wear gloves and the utensil are opened in front of you. The place has fresh air circulating an doesn't have that chemical smell from acrylic like most place I've been too. Jeannette did an amazing job on my mani pedi. Was more interested in getting to know me, than talking to her techs in Vietnamese. Major plus. I could write an essay on this place but I won't. Definitely going to become a regular here. read more

Very disappointing. My cuticles are screaming. I am obsessively washing my hands with antibacterial soap and concerned I'll get an infection. I went in for a regular manicure and the trimming of cuticles and buffing my nails actually hurt. When I told the woman she didn't even acknowledge me. When I mentioned it again and BLOOD was coming from my cuticles she put something else on it that stung really bad. DO NOT GO HERE! Maybe I got someone new (it wasn't the owner/lead gal) but extremely disappointing. I paid the full amount without even getting polish on my nails. I noticed they use the same towels for everyone as well. I did not get the vibe that this place is very sanitary. Ugh. read more

I would actually give this place a 3 based on my own experience (lady was rushing to get out, was a little rough), but my sister had the owner Jeanette, who was EXTREMELY kind, accommodating (took us last minute right before she closed), and friendly. The spa is pretty clean, and they take card and tip on card without an extra fee like a lot of other salons. The have gel manicures but I would double check the color on your nails first. I tried a taupe/nude color and it was too clear (wasn't at all like the color on the sample). read more

Anyway, the massage chair was so nice and the service was really good. Lynn took her time in cleaning, cutting, buffing and painting my nails until it was perfect! I got gel nails and normal toe nails done and it came out so pretty! It was only $45 for both so i gave her big tip! She looks happy and i am also so happy with the colors!!!
