I went out on a limb today and decided to try out a new nail salon in Pacifica due to the fact that I've never been too comfortable with my current salon's lack of sanitary tools & hit or miss service. After seeing the positive reviews, I called in to Kim's to see if they happen to have an opening today for a walk-in. They did! After arriving there, I realized I was very lucky to go in last minute since the salon is appointment-based. I was greeted by Kim, her husband Ty, Kim's niece, & even both customers. I felt so welcomed and was seated in a comfy chair. I chose my nail color: not as many gel choices as I'm used to, but didn't end up being a problem since the colors they have are all nice. Kim's niece took care of my gel manicure and did an excellent job. She was very sweet as well. The quaint salon was very clean & comfortable. I believe they have coffee & tea for their customers as well. I made appointment for the next time I come in. The amazing customer service, cleanliness & great manicure has inspired me to try to give the in-advance appointment thing a shot with my hectic schedule. read more

What a great find! I visited Kim a few days before my sister-in-law's wedding to get a full set done and left with beautifully natural looking pink & white nails. I normally keep my nails *very* short since I do catering work, so to have a full set that not only looked natural but felt comfortable (no pinching, excessive acrylic, or funky edges) was fantastic! Her shop is very clean (UV sterilizer in plain view!) and it's easy to feel comfortable in the modestly sized shop. It's just Kim and her husband, so none of that excessive chattering or "bickering" between staff that seems to be endemic at some of the other nail shops here in Pacifica. You can really relax and enjoy your appointment (no walk-ins so call ahead or drop in to schedule one) and Kim has lots of experience plus is really pleasant. She's been in business locally for over 20 years and has a loyal customer base that has stayed with her as her business has grown (I talked to one nice lady who'd just finished her appointment and she's been with Kim for 18+ yrs! That says something!). I'm happy that she's located at the Plaza now. There's plenty of parking in the back Plaza area/beach area, especially useful during Farmers Market hours :). read more

Kim's Nails is not your typical nail salon where it is an assembly line and you feel like cattle. (At least I did) The constant chatter among all the techs and full of locals was always beyond annoying. So much that it kept me from taking proper care of my feet and hands. Well, no more of that! Kim's is like going to a spa. You are the only one and her shop is very nice and comfortable. (I'm a big girl) I don't feel self conscious there, just given excellent attention to detail and always a wonderful conversation with Kim. I admire her work and her kindness. I recently had a hip replacement and she called me while I was at the rehab facility. Who does that! Someone who cares about her customers, that's who. Kim is so gentle and so good at solving problems with my nails that I'll never leave. Tye her husband jumps in and help when he can and he's really nice. I would recommend their salon to anyone. They are so much better them any other place I've been to at keeping their instruments clean and disinfected and since I have an auto-immune syndrome I really appreciate that! It is a small shop so you can't always just drop in but they will fit you in if they can. The shop is very clean. Just found Kim's Natural Nail's on yelp and had the pleasure of getting a manicure and pedicure today. Kim is so nice. I will never return to any other nail salon in town. This is what sets Kim apart from the ones I have ever been to. I do not have to worry about sanitation. Kim has an autoclave which she uses on all her tools after each use (I actually witnessed it). There is no rushing you in and out because her appointments are well timed. Make an appointment and that is YOUR time. Kim is so gentle and thorough, no need to worry about getting cut or infections. If you have not had the pleasure of visiting Kim, I highly recommend you make an appointment. You will enjoy being pampered without the chatter and assembly line feel of bigger salons. I have been a customer of Kim's Natural Nails at three different locations and probably over twenty something years. Kim is a perfectionist and between her and Ty you never leave the shop with even a nick in your polish. The review that gave her one star for "not fitting her in" for just a manicure is why Kim has five stars from everyone else. She is always on time and gives her loyal customers the full treatment without rushing you out.
