I am writing regarding a Groupon I purchased on Christmas. Since purchasing it, I have repeatedly attempted to contact the business to schedule an appointment, but no one answered their phone despite multiple attempts. Recently, I finally received a text response and tried to schedule the appointment. At that point, I was told that my Groupon had already been used. This is incorrect -- I have never redeemed or used this voucher. To be clear, I purchased this Groupon as a gift for my mother. I am a male so I'm not sure if they were just avoiding me because they thought I want to use the voucher? IDK it's very unclear. The pros: Alma has strong hands and gives good massages. The cons: the environment. The room wreaked in cigar smell which made me very nauseous. There were also flies flying around inside which made it hard for me to relax. As she was giving me my facial she applied some acid to my face that really burned and irritated my skin. She told me it was suppose to exfoliate my skin but it left my skin red and burning. Her extractions were also very painful , to the point I had to tell her to stop. I felt like she was literally going to break my nose. TLDR; reasonable price & nice lady but probably won't be back. read more

Great deep tissue massage. Strong pressure. The massage does not include a wipe down of the oil off your body, which on one hand means you get more massage time (a huge positive IMO) but on the other hand, if you need to be somewhere afterwards, then you have to wipe yourself down or specifically request to have the oil wiped down. read more

Apparently class pass appointments don't show up in their schedule right away and so no one was prepared for the appointment (which I booked at 7pm the day prior). Lady was nice and rescheduled me for a morning appointment a few days later. At the appointment, she went from massaging my feet to massaging my face without washing her hands or anything. The beach plaza is charming and suits the beach area. It's behind the parking lot and shares the space with a hair salon on the bottom. Ambiance is spiritual bohemian like. I like the background music and actual water running fountain. Alma had the magic hands when it came to the facial massage and entire body massage! I was just expecting the top body massage during the session, but it was from the top down! The pressure points that she focused on was done without me saying it and the brief foot massage was oh so lovely. I was relieved at that point. I have been going to Alma for almost a year now. Her attention to the body is on point. She is able to get all the sore spots and is very receptive to requests. For a petite little lady she has incredible strength and her hands are magic. Every part of my body gets attention and I feel relief after each session. I am not a facial person in general, but I've been a repeat facial customer as well. Her massage during facial is like none I've had before. I skip extractions but that's my personal preference. The therapy room is tucked away in the upstairs space above a salon. The first time I had a hard time finding it but it's to the back of the business complex on the left side. Inside it's dim, zen, and she always has nice relaxing tunes playing. Her pricing is amazing. Really great deal if you do the packages as well! What a hidden gem in Pacifica! I came for a massage and facial, Alma was great! Appointment was easy to make, she responded to my text and it was set. The boutique is tucked in behind the shops and on top of a hair salon, the ambiance was soothing. Both the facial and massage was very relaxing, the strokes were slow and firm, she's good at what she does. During the facial steaming or mask, my feet and arms would be massaged, unlike many other places I went to, the person would leave the room and take a break. But Alma made this experience worth the value. She checked if I had any allergies, injuries or if the steam was too hot, you can tell she puts her heart into her job. Oh! And the towels she uses on your face is so soft, like a cloud! Touch! Human touch! After a pandemic-long break from massages and facials etc, I took the plunge at Bella Nirvana and t was divine! I bought a combo facial-massage via Groupon (but I would pay full fare for this treat on the future) and wasn't sure what to expect since there have been no reviews on Yelp since before the pandemic but it was fantastic! The room itself was lovely, and the music so relaxing, but it was Alma who was the magic! (The setting, at Rockaway Beach in Pacifica, is also glorious!) This is a great combination of services, and she was the one to bring it. She had the gentleness required for facials, and lots of lovely layers to the 45-minute facial, and the strength to get through some of the knots in my back that have accumulated during the last two plus years. She's also very nice, and before the massage inquired about where I might need some focus. She really worked those back muscles w her elbows, so there was good and necessary pain, but she checked on the pressure. The rest of the massage was utterly relaxing, and afterward I felt I was floating! (I so appreciated not having to talk about this and that throughout the massage. Alma lets you really enjoy the moment.) I didn't want to drive home right away so I took a stroll along the Pacific. I could smell the seaweed on the rocks below, and the sun streamed through the clouds. I was so happy, and as I said, completely relaxed. I could've fallen asleep then and there, but I'm about to do that now, at a proper bedtime. Thanks so much Alma! I'll be back in the not too distant future for another treatment. I went here for a massage using a gift voucher I received. I asked for medium pressure and the therapist told me she uses firm pressure. I figured a more deep tissue massage couldn't hurt. In hindsight, I should've asked the therapist to go lighter (again) as I realized the next day she actually injured my neck muscles (at the front), which took months to recover. I loved my experience at Bella Nirvana; I would go back tomorrow if I could! Alma is an excellent massage therapist: informative, careful, kind. My brother got me a gift certificate last Christmas and I kept meaning to cash in but life kept getting in the way of my plans. I finally got around to calling and Alma was so kind to honor my year-old gift and helped me set up a time to come in. Located inside Paul Strom on the second floor, Bella Nirvana is a serene and calming studio. I immediately felt at ease with Alma: we chatted a bit before my massage about my stress level, places I hold tension, and goals for my massage. I got the 60 minute hot stone massage which was AMAZING! It was basically a full body massage with medium pressure (I would say a mix between Swedish and deep tissue) plus hot stones. It was one of the best massages I've ever had. The stones are very hot and released tension all over my body. Toward the end of the full body I was hoping for a little head and neck work and it was like Alma read my mind and gave me more than expected on my neck, shoulders, head, and face. Alma was amazing. I opted for the aggressive anti aging C-esta facial for my first visit. She had an extensive questionnaire (important to not get a bad reaction if using retinols) and asked some other questions relative to the procedure which I appreciated. Having two small kids at home and recently having weaned from nursing, it was my first big treat to myself (not sure if a nursing mom could get this facial so it was a special treat) not to mention it was 80 minutes. Meaning no offense to Alma, I explained I was hoping to just relax and keep to myself (again, zero offense to her, I just never get quiet time anymore) and she was completely understanding and accommodating. My skin tightened and glowed afterwards, even in the midst of a breakout. We had a snafu with the machine in regards to honoring my Spa Finder gift card, so I paid out of pocket (gladly). She is also a lot of fun, funny and personable, and made me feel incredibly comfortable in a situation that by definition is not fun or comfortable. had a deal for 1 hour massage and 1 hour facial for $75 off of living social. you hear that when it is off a deal, they don't really do their best or cheat your time. Not this place. They gave me exactly one hour each. Place is small, but really cozy and clean. Plenty of parking. It's hard to get a hold of them by phone so you can email them and give them a list of dates that u want (weekends r super packed) and they will email u back. I started off with a massage from Hazel. She is super sweet and amazing. When they said head to toe massage, it really is. Most places do your back and then do like a min on ur arms and legs. Hazel really took her time and evened it out. She hit all the spots and I didn't even have to tell her. She even massage my feet, which i know alot of places don't. They just kind of rub your feet and say they massaged it. After my massage, I walked into the next rooom to get my facial. (forgot by who) She was really good. She put so many products on my face and was really massaging all the muscles in my face. I was so relax and glowing. Even near the end I got another mini massage on my neck and head. The only bad thing is that, after they wiped all the stuff off my face, there was lot left. So many things to say.. Got the groupon they were offering, so I thought I'd try out their facials and massage. Called a hand full of times only to get an answering machine, they called back maybe the next day with a different number, and because I dont answer numbers I don't know, the phone tag game began.. Finally was able to make my facial appointment, only to have the technician cancel my appointment. No problem I know life happens. Came in on time for my facial but was cut short about 10 minutes. No doubt it was a great facial, but I still felt gypped. Made my massage appointment after my facial, no availability until about a month later. Day of my appointment I was cancelled on again.. In my mind if I was the one to have cancelled my appointment same day, wouldn't I have been charged? I think they should have offered some type of compensation for the inconvenience. Ok so I finally i am able to get a set appointment for my massage, it was very relaxing, but boy I would not make an appointment in the morning because I was freezing the whole time and couldn't completely relax. Also there wasn't any music in the room, only music from the lobby, so the main thing I was hearing the whole massage was a ticking noise from a watch or some sort of clock the technician was wearing. This review is long overdue. Both Heather and MJ are AMAZING. Heather did my eyelash extensions for my wedding earlier this year and I LOVED them. I mean REALLY loved them. I kind of feel sad without them. For my wedding Heather did long crazy lashes. They looked AMAZING. If you haven't gotten extensions before, trust me, they make a world of difference! I first got them about a month before the wedding, and then went for a touch-up just a few days before. All together they ended staying for a solid couple months! I've heard stories of people whose extensions started falling out after a week, and of people who had to wear goggles while showering. But these were super low maintenance and looked amazing (of course I suggest following their instructions and not using oil based makeup removers etc.) To boot, Heather is friendly, fun, awesome to talk to and she's a lot more affordable than people in the city! MJ shaped my eyebrows at Heather's request and did fabulously. The shape really complimented my face. MJ also did my eyelash extensions for my honeymoon because Heather was out of town. For my honeymoon we did shorter more natural looking lashes. Again, they were the bomdotcom. MJ is super spunky, sweet and fun! I've also seen them for Brazilian waxes. They use hard wax and not the strips - which I'm a HUGE fan of because it's SO much better for your skin! I'm not sure what else to say. I love these women!! read more
