I can't thank this shop enough. I brought in my 2006 Subaru Impreza, hoping it could be saved, but deep down I knew it was on its last leg. Had my starter replaced 2 months ago, turns out a bad part came in and therefore my starter began acting up once more. I brought the receipt in for the previous work and today, they ordered a new part and re-replaced my starter completely free of charge! I can't say whether this shop does good work because we opted to go elsewhere in town. I brought my daughter's Honda CRV in for a diagnostic January of 2024, and the verdict came back that she needed a new catalytic converter. My issue was that the diagnostic charge was $225.00. Instantly upon calling the station, the bill was reverted to $75, which she paid and went elsewhere because it is hard to trust a business who charges randomly like this. read more

Today I brought my car to Pacifica Auto Works to get my 30,000 mile work done on my Lexus and all I can say is that they are a legitimate place to bring your car to get worked on. The owner Dindo Mendiola texted me with a link that showed me what needs to get done. I reviewed it and signed online to authorize the work and when the car was done he gave me a call and told me additional findings. I passed but will get it done next time around. This auto shop is a place to go. The price was very reasonable compared to if I brought it to the dealership. I have had various automotive things done here and will never hesitate to go back. Recently had a wiring harness added to my tow hitch and was quoted a very fair price. Took vehicle to these guys to install new upstream oxygen sensors per readout of error code when check engine light came on. O'Reilly Auto had performed free scan. Installation was done overnight as agreed since we needed vehicle the next day. We were charged $210 for each sensor. These sensors can be purchased on Amazon for $18 each but we needed work ASAP. We were told when we got vehicle that we needed to bring it back to have computer reprogramed for new sensors. This would cost another $200 labor on top of $150 for sensor installation. We knew this false as computer reprograms automatically when new sensors installed. In conclusion, only use these guys if you are desperate and can't go elsewhere. read more

Ok folks, I have NEVER experienced what I just experienced here today! My family and I came to Pacifica today to take the kids up hiking in San Pedro Valley Park. Unbeknownst to us there was a $6 parking fee (cash only). Seeing as we hadn't any cash we decided to go to this 76 gas station to use the ATM or get cash back. We got to the gas station and the ATM machine wasn't working and that they don't give cash back with a purchase. One of the gentlemen there (owner/employee) overheard that we were hoping to take the kids to the park and needed six dollars for the parking upon which he opened up his wallet, took out a crisp $10 bill and handed it over to me telling me to take the kids over and to have a fun time at the park. A year ago we took my car here and three times we had to take it back. We were charged about $300 each time . I told the hubby don't take my new car there ever. So he did and........I was standing next to my husband when he called about our car . He said ..." Can you please check the battery ? Something is draining it overnight". I park the car and I mentioned that the esp light s also on. Meaning while you're checking for the drain , can you please check the esp light ? $265.00 it's ready ! It was the brake something that cost $15.00. cool . I go pay for it but wasn't able to pick it up till that eve. Go to start it at 9 pm and it's dead . Pissed ? The next day I go take my keys back . He says " oh! Something must be draining the battery"! I said , " yes , that's the Reason we brought it in the first place". He argues with me for 10 min looking at his notes and says , " no, it says here he called and wanted us to check the esp light"! I argued that I was standing right there when he called about the battery! He looks at his notes again and again argues with me! So I ask him if the 265 we just paid the day before had anything to do with checking the battery? No , he says . We were just.checking the esp light . OMG are you kidding. Me? Here we go! A week later car is ready . $350.00. Guess what ? It barely started PLUS three more lights were on including the esp light ! I go back in and hand them My keys and tell them those lights are on . Over a week later I call and he says they are still trying to figure it out . A couple days later I call and they are still figuring it out and all I see is dollar signs adding up! I just told them to stop working on it cuz I'm coming down to get my car and take it to another place AND I wanted a refund too! Come on ! $600.00! For what ? A $15.00 part ? No, that's just not right . So it's been one month without my car , less $600.00 and they did nothing to fix the problem we took it in for ! Plus argued with me? I go to get my car and I thought I was going to have to fight for our money back but They refunded every penny ! They willingly and very nicely credited our money back ! I think this place is probably the most honest mechanic shop I have ever been to. Dindo is an honest man and he did not over charge me. But sometimes he's too busy and simply did not give me a call on the quotes I asked for. Maybe he is too busy fixing other cars. but overall probably the most honest place. I drove many of my cars here and they did the best they can. The prices are very reasonable. No surprises. Before they touch other things they will always tell you before hand. I love the "full service" of being able to get your receipt at the gas pump, and Pacifica Unocal is now my fave in Pacifica. It's a small detail, but I really appreciate it. I see this as a growing trend, but I still don't like the nasty surprise of saying "Yes" when asked if I want a receipt, then see "Clerk Has Receipt" displayed. So I avoid the two Shell Stations in Pacifica for this reason... they can't figure out how to replace the receipt tape at their pumps. read more

I went here yesterday to have a check engine light repaired, they did a diagnostic and removed the price of the diagnostic off of the repair. This place has my vote. Today I took my vette in to have the shifter checked, it sticks sometimes, they couldn't duplicate the problem. To my surprise, they didn't charge me a dime. I was shocked. However, in order to make sure you have a good experience with them, make sure you are easily contacted and that you let them know if you have a deadline or a time/date you need it by. So I go in (for the 1st time at this place) for a routine oil change, simple enough I thought. Get a message saying that the car is ready and that there was a small nail in the tire, and that they repaired it for another $20. Now I'm skeptical, first off it was done without my consent! The service guy says, he tried calling and left a message, but the message said that they already did the repair. Second I don't like plugs on my tires, I'd rather have a patch from the inside, as it is safer, and it is my wife's daily driver. How about if it was a $200 repair of something else, just cause I didn't get back to him within an hour he's gonna just fix it and charge me? We have been taking our cars to Dindo and his mechanics for several years. For awhile we were 'frequent fliers' with our daughter's car but we finally bought her a new one so it had been awhile since we'd been there. Earlier this week my car broke down and stranded us in the middle of the street. After having it towed to Dindo, he was able to get it fixed and back to us by dinner time. We are so impressed with his honesty, he's done repair work and then pleasantly surprised us with the fact that it was a previously repaired part that was covered by his warranty and so it was no charge. These guys are terrible!!! I never had such a bad experience with car service. First they asked me to schedule an appointment for oil change. I came at 8:00am for my appointment and nobody was there. 12 minutes later someone came and told me that it will take an hour or two. I called at 12:00pm (4 hours later) and the car was not ready and they didn't even start working on it. They finished at 2:00pm. A job of 20-30 minutes took them 6 hours (what is the point of making an appointment). I also asked them to check a noise that I had from one of the wheels. They told me the that one of the engine motor mount was broken and was causing this noise. The estimated $250 for the repair. Later I took it to another car mechanic who fixed it for free. It was two loose nuts that made the noise. don't trust them! read more
