This unscrupulous scum towed my car illegally from the spot in front of their business at 1518A Francisco because they wanted to park their tow truck there. There was no other reason. I was not parked illegally and was not cited. They charged me $373 to move my car 300 feet. Needless to say, I am suing you to get my funds returned from the illegal tow. My friends car got stuck in a ditch 6pm on Saturday at Moss Beach Ranch. After being on the phone trying to reach a live person at AAA we submitted an online request for service. When they finally called back they notified us they won't go onto the Private Property of MBR and would not help us. We went home defeated and had to leave the car overnight. On Sunday we called these guys around noon and by 1pm Tony was there and had us out of the ditch for a fraction of the price the other companies wanted to charge (? NYE inflation?)? Tony went above and beyond by joking with us making light of the situation. The Police station and this tow company are engaged in a shady scheme to trap and rob innocent, honest citizens of their hard earned cash! 1st...what do these car repair reviews have to do with the towing end of this highly questionable illegitimate business?? This fiasco begins with the signage at the lot where we left our car....poorly marked, in tiny letters, barely readable from the car; 2nd, a question for Police officer....Why send us to the police station to demand $178.19 ....for "releasing the car", as they referred to it...only to then refer us to the said "Storage Facility ", did you just "forget" to mention it's a towing company who would then charge us $585.00?? You germ. So we arrive and our car is the only car in the lot, and when asked why charge us so freaking much?, the tow driver ...if you will...claims they have to "work so hard" to tow people's cars. I have nothing but disdain and pity for these bottom feeders who have to take peoples cars and hold them ransom, making people stand out in the cold for hours because of you incompetence or sit in your offices while you dream up or summon the courage to think about just HOW are you going to say, "Look, you seem like nice people so we ripped off your car, and now in order to get it back you need to give us everything you have from your bank account. I called AAA because my Chrysler Pacifica would not start/crank because it said there was a problem with the "Electronic Stabilizer." The Pacifica was parked in my garage and it would not shift out of park into neutral gear. 2 tow trucks came by but could not get the Pacifica out of my garage. The first person came by with a flat bed tow truck and said I needed a tow truck with a dolly. The second person came by with a dolly but since the Pacifica is front wheel drive the dolly could not stretch the length of the garage to reach the front wheels. I had given up hope when Brent came by and I watched him manually shift the Pacifica into neutral by pulling down on a cord hidden under the dash. Once in neutral he pushed the Pacifica out into the street behind his flatbed tow truck, wrenched the Pacifica onto the truck and drove it 3 miles to the dealer. Brent is very knowledgeable and he saved the day for me. He will be my go-to guy if I ever need another tow. He is very professional and he loves his job. I like him. I think you will too. I live in Mill Valley and was traveling in y 2011 Ford F-150 to a job site in half Moon Bay yesterday, February 21, 2022. While heading south on 1, my vehicle started running very roughly and my engine light was flashing. I knew I shouldn't drive the vehicle but there's was no place to pull over, so I coasted down the hill and exited 1, rolling to a stop on an unknown street. Looking to my immediate right, I was amazed to see the sign for Miller O'Brien auto repair. I walked in and was met with friendly greetings. After explaining my situation, they agreed to attempt to fix my truck that same day if at all possible. Luckily, I called a coworker who was already in half Moon Bay and came and pick me up, then drove me to the job site, leaving my truck in the care of Miller& O'Brien. I can't explain it, but I had a feeling of trust with the crew there; normally I would have had a feeling of unease given the situation where I was an out-of-towner leaving my vehicle in the hands of people I did not know nor had any recommendations for. They were simply wonderful-they kept sending me updates and when I returned to pick up the truck after they closed, I was delighted to find that not only have they left the broken parts in the truck for me to see, but it ran like a charm. I love this shop! Jeff and Brent are wonderful! My first experience with them was when my Rav4 broke down in Pacifica (where my vet is, so I had my dog with me). Greg picked me up, (and my crazy big lab), and I decided to have their shop fix the belt. They did it for a very reasonable price, and a year later, I am still good. I just liked them, immediately, and felt they were really honest and fair. My second visit was to have my 1967 volvo amazon wagon start, which had been parked for a couple of years on the coast. They kept in touch with me, gave me great suggestions, and then delivered it back to me (via tow truck, as I decided not to fix the brakes, and will sell it "as is") -- I have a very narrow, steep, driveway in SF. Brent expertly got the volvo in as far as he could go, and then physically pushed the car into my garage. I am sure they do not ever want to see my volvo again, but I will bring my Rav4 back to them. What a great team - honest, and with a great sense of humor. They even offered to talk to whoever I sell the car to, if they need more info. Old school local mechanic who befriends their clients. Locked my key fob inside my car. Car should not lock with the fob inside but this time it did. Called roadside and they had this company help service my car. It was 7:30pm, driver called me and said Eta was 45 minutes because there was police activity in the area ( umm sooo what, sounds like and excuse). Mind you I have their location tracking on my phone and their shop is only 10 minutes away. 1 hour passes by and the driver called me back again speaking gibberish and that it would be another 15 minutes. Again I have there tracking on my phone and they are still sitting at their company lot. It took them another 45 minutes to finally arrive to my vehicle. Not sure why did they have to take 2 hours to get to me when eta is 1 hour and their lot is only a 5 minute drive away. Driver is unprofessional but he did get my door to open pretty fast. read more

We are visiting Pacifica and on our very first cruise down the PCH... we got a flat tire with no spare. We called AAA to rescue us but were given a 4 hour wait time by the towing company. Deciding to make the most of it, we took a stroll up Devils Slide trail (near our parked car). An hour into our walk, we got service again and saw that our tow truck was waiting and would leave soon. I called the driver, Greg, and let him know we were SPRINTING back. He assured me he would wait until we got there and was perfectly pleasant. Once we arrived, we discovered that the original towing company with the 4 hour wait had passed on this job to miller &O'Brien's and they obviously were a much speedier operation! Greg made quick work of pulling and securing the vehicle onto his truck and we were on the road before we could catch our breath (we had just sprinted down a trail). Greg is a local to the area and gave us a wealth of information, insider tips and a bit of history, while also driving us carefully back to our Pacifica location. It was a bummer of a situation but all things considered, quite pleasant due to the fine work of this towing company. Kudos to Greg! read more

I would give them negative stars if it was possible. The parking lot where this company stores towed cars is filthy. As soon as I got my car back I had to spend an extra $40 to have someone clean it. The person who helped me get my car back was somehow helpful, unlike the owner who was confrontational and moody. I wish to warn all consumers regarding this auto repair Business located in Pacifica. This company also has a AAA contract for towing disabled vehicles and I was told by one of the drivers, during a tow, that Miller & O'Brien, was a AAA repair station. With that recommendation, I submitted my vehicle for repair and I have regretted it ever since. I contacted AAA and they denied that Miller and O'Brien are any way affiliated with them as a repair station and I therefore filed a complaint with the California Bureau of automotive repair... complaint# SF 2018020204. Below is a letter synopsis of the events that have led to my unfavorable review of this business. MILLER S. O'BRIEN INC BAR ARD00157067 1518 A FRANCISCO BLVD PACIFICA,CA 94044 DEAR SIR; I recently (8/31/2018) authorized your repair shop to fix a nagging and reappearing "check engine" light and paid $420, for a repair that did not last 24 hours. Therefore, I took my vehicle, a 2000 Ford Mustang to SERRAMONTE FORD and they replaced an air injector that has finally remedied the problem. Previously in November 10, 2017 I patronized your repair shop to service electrical problems related to the coil. I paid close to $60 and the electrical difficulties continued as I manuevered a violently jerking vehicle into the service lot of SERRAMONTE FORD for repairs just prior to Christmas 2017. In short, I have paid for two repairs from your facility that have proven to be ineffective, costly and troublesome. I have all repair documents and rental charges which are included with this letter. I wish to be completely reimbursed for my unnecessary expenditures. read more

I don't know about anybody else, but these guys took care of me, and how! Up early from the previous night, where my car initially broke down and was later diagnosed with a bad alternator, I called AAA to have my car towed to ANOTHER mechanic shop. AAA told me that Miller & O'brien towing will be at my place within 45 min. Low-and-behold M&O gave me a call as soon as I got off the phone with the AAA rep; just to confirm that they'll be there even earlier (30 min). The tow guy came and asked me what happened to the car. I told it was my alternator. Insisting that he check it himself, he eventually came to the same conclusion. I told where I was towing it too and he asked me how much they were charging me (parts and labor), I told him $350. He asked his boss how much it would cost them to do it; they said $358. Although that's more expensive, I went with them anyways b/c they were going to drive me there and back; and I really didn't know how I was going to get back from the other place so I thought it was worth my $8. We go down, not too far away from my house and they pretty much have me sign the standard paper work and drove me back home. I was going to only give them 3-4 stars, b/c it took a little while for them to finish, but they totally made up for it. They called approx 1 hr. after the established time and said they'll come pick me up. I got down there and not only did they knock down the quoted price by $100 but they washed my car for me too! Jeffrey showed me my old alternator and everything. I was so thrilled that I had to tip them, but they refused to take my money. Jeffrey actually suggested that if I really wanted to tip them, then I can give it to the mechanic who worked on my car. I went up to him and he didn't wanna take my money! But me being the insistent one, I finally made them take the tip. I'm a hard guy to please, but when you have great service and go above and beyond, I have to only reward you. Paul from Miller & O'brien Towing really went above and beyond for me last weekend, and pretty much saved my day! I was driving from Sacramento to do a gig in Palo Alto, and about halfway there my tire popped. I tried desperately to get AAA on the phone, but I was in an area with terrible service. As I was walking along the highway (dressed like a pirate for my job, btw), Paul pulled up in his tow truck to see if I was ok. After I explained my dilemma, he told me that he was with AAA, and he would help me out. I was a bit worried about driving all the way down to Palo Alto quickly on a spare to try to make it to my gig on time, so Paul offered to tow me all the way there! On the way, he told me the closest, best place to get a new tire, and I was able to call them and tell them what kind of tire I needed. But it doesn't end there! Paul changed my flat tire for a spare, and told me that he would take the old tire and my information to the tire place so that I could head directly there and get out extra quick to make it to my next gig in San Francisco. Not only did he do all that and explain my situation to the mechanics, but he called and left me two messages to be sure that I knew exactly where I was going and who I should talk to! This guy really went far beyond his job and was the key factor at turning my potential disaster day into an inspirational one. I can't stop telling people about Paul's kindness. :) read more

I really like these guys and their service. My car is in their garage right now as I write this review. The quote is good; the part is in; I told them I have a medical appointment tomorrow at 12:30 and I trust that they will get the work done by then. They gave me a ride home in one of their giant tow trucks. With a currently broken foot in a bulky boot, it was pretty much impossible for me to step on my own. They literally lifted me up and placed me on the seat! They are strong and I am little, but it was really cool to have someone pick me up! I don't think that has happened since I was about 5 years old ... and I am 63 TODAY. Sux to have my car out of commission on my birthday, but the good humor and service at Miller O'Brien takes some of the sting away. Thanks guys! read more
