I recently purchased a 1999 Mitsubishi 3000GT and when driving to work it began to have some seemingly major issues. Considering the close proximity, I took it to Inside Garage and met Nick. Nick was the nicest and most personable mechanic I've ever met. He took in my car and about an hour later had diagnosed the issue and thoroughly explained what needed to get done. In a matter of two short days, Nick had my car running like a dream and did not charge me an arm and a leg like most other mechanics. Not to mention, Nick performed a PPI-like inspection as he knew I had just purchased the car and ensured it needed no other immediate remedies for any unforeseen issues; at no extra charge. I definitely recommend Inside Garage! Nick's expertise, skill, friendliness, and speed, puts him at the top of my list. I'll definitely be taking my 3000GT back there again if it ever needs work! read more

Nick is an amazing mechanic! He has worked on my car for as long as I have owned it and has kept it running smooth for over 190,000 miles now! read more

Last Friday afternoon, my car decided to breakdown on the freeway. (My stress level was through the roof.) While waiting for a tow truck, I called Nick to see if I could have my car towed to his garage. He stayed late, on a Friday! Who does that? He even drove me home! Over the weekend, Nick sent me a text to let me know what the problem might be. (Just knowing he was on it, put me at ease.) There were other cars/customers in front of me, & he still diagnosed the issue. Fixed it, & got me back on the road by Tuesday morning. Thank you, Nick! I appreciate it! read more

Nick and the crew were very professional and welcoming when I arrived. I was not disappointed one bit. I needed a 30k mile service check up done for my tacoma and was able to make an appointment the same day I called. It all worked out with no problems. One of the best shops in town, especially with all the action figures and toys on the wall. Cool shop! ILL BE Back guys! read more

Nick is great guy! He is honest, straightforward, explains anything you may not know with respect and gets the job done fast. His pricing is fair and work is quality. I called Nick about 10 times in two days trying to figure out what was wrong with my car and he was patient and supportive. read more

Got car's a/c fixed. I tried to fix it myself, didn't really work out. If you are not confident in fixing something, especially seal system, just take your car to repair shop. Don't try it yourself, don't waste time and money. Price is reasonable for Bay Area. Five stars for customer service and professionalism. Got answers for all questions. read more

Solid trustworthy people. You can't go wrong coming here. One of the most honest garages I've found.

I am moving to Texas with my car this summer and needed to go in for a tune up to make sure my car was ready for the trip. They gave me an oil change and replaced all my break pads and discs, and pulled some nails out of my tires. Nick showed me exactly what was wrong and explained the damage. Frankly I don't know anything about cars but I never felt like they were over charging me, or trying to fabricate any unnecessary repairs. He even threw in free coolant for the trip! He ordered the parts immediately and I was able to get my car back the next day. Great service! read more

Best mechanic in town! Super helpful and honest. Nick is easy to talk to and recommends the best course of action for your budget.

Came in right after class for a smog check and joe & dena went right ahead and took care of everything for me. Really good customer service, and quick and reliable. Thanks guys. read more

Inside Garage - way cool - Auto Repair Near Me - Daly City, California

Nick is skillful, friendly, and thoughtful. He takes the time to listen, discuss car maintenance and issues, and to give recommendations on what to prioritize- and what can wait. They went above and beyond today taking care of our car, which had been quite neglected during shelter in place. Finding a trusted mechanic and team in the community is such a key and valuable resource and it has been a relief to our family to have a go to garage to take our cars. read more

I took my 1999 Jag to another shop because of a sound I kept hearing. They kept the car a week and claimed they never heard the sound. I took it to Nick and thankfully it was making the sound and he identified the problem immediately. I also took it in because I wanted to drive it to Santa Barbara in a few weeks. It was fixed by the next day along with oil change, fluid checks, brake checks, tire rotations, light bulb replacement, etc. I asked him if he recommended driving the car down there, he did not, because of the age and the difficulty getting repairs done, he suggested renting a car. I have a second car, had him take care of all the fluids, etc. and will be driving that instead. He did all the checks as with the Jag so I'm ready to roll. Nick makes sense and I appreciate his candor. As others have stated, I also feel he can be trusted, he's very easy to work with and works quick. read more

Love this shop. Local gem with mechanic who doesn't beat around the bush. Great at what he does!

Love nicks service. He makes me feel like I'm visiting a friend every time. I'm a returning customer. Not only his service is great, he genuinely cares about his customers. Not all places and honest with their prices and work. But nicks is the guy you count on with your vehicle. read more

This is one of my go to mechanics when i need work done on my car. He does not try to upsell you on parts you dont need like most shops. When he repairs vehicles he always suggest you replace certain things depending on the job you need to save you money on future problems. Nick tries his best to accommodate peoples budget as well. Finding a honest mechanic that has been in the business for some time that wont rip you off is very hard to find. You are in good hands if you have any maintenance repair done by his shop. Remember to call in before showing up so he can take care of you over the phone. read more

Nick and his team are very courteous and professional. He is very knowledgeable on automobiles. Nick was very helpful after my radiator burst. He got my cavalier repaired back to me and on the road quickly. He was straight forward with the details and the pricing on what needed to be done. I definitely recommend his shop. Inside Nick's Garage will be my go to shop for any of my cars issues. Thanks again Nick. read more

I usually feel quite naive and vulnerable when I bring my car in for work. In the past, I have felt take advantage of by mechanics. I get the complete opposite vibe from Nick. He is a straight shooter, very knowledgeable, and a good guy. I've had nothing but positive experiences at Inside Garage, highly recommend (and I'm a tough critic)! 5 STARS AND TWO THUMBS UP. read more

I called yesterday to get a referal for some minor body work on my Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback. Wayne told me the guys they use are no longer doing work or are doing only high-end work (clearly out of my price range). I appreciate his honesty (even though I still don't have a good referral). read more

This place is where I'll be going for all my SMOG needs now. Inside Garage was a relief for me to walk into. What looked like a late 70s Monte Carlo was sitting inside and Joe showed me a picture of his 68-69 (don't remember exact) Chevelle. I felt my late 70s El Camino would be in safe hands for the smog repairs that I needed. Joe and the rest of the staff were very helpful in informing me about how I can go about getting the state program from the Bureau of Auto Repair to pay up to $500 of my smog repairs. Always more than happy to offer me a ride back to my place down the coast, but I always arranged a ride for myself anyway. End result: My car's emissions had a dramatic drop in CO and the other measured gases the state tests for. The car runs like a top also because the carburetor was setup wrong from a previous job elsewhere. All in a timely manner and money well spent for repairs over the $500 rebate I received! Keep up the great work! read more

Let me start by saying I'm very picky when it comes to anyone touching my car. I found this shop through Yelp and have been taking my mazda rx7 for service here ever since. Nick and his team are amazing. The service is quick, affordable and efficient. They know how much I worry about my car, and he does a great job by calling me and providing updates while I am away. I've never been to a repair shop that has better customer service. read more

This is a long time coming, as I have always been a procrastinator. For my New Year resolution; I will take the time/action to recognize and acknowledge someone who did something awesome. I think in September of last year, I brought my 71' C10 truck to Nick's to troubleshoot a timing problem. Because it was not the original motor (unknown year block ) it was difficult to determine the correct timing specs. Nick took the time to research the timing possibilities to get it right and now I am back cruising. Nick is professional, very complete in his analysis and loves what he does. read more

I could write another 5 Star Review for Nick, which at this point goes without saying! And, I'm giving a second 5-Star Review for Buddy The Shop Dog. Buddy is Nick's rescue dog that is the official greeter at Inside Garage. He's part shepherd and part corgi...think Small Version of a Low Rider Police Dog. So, go to Nick's for the service...and stay for the dog! Double 5 Stars. read more

They are so nice and welcoming and such a positive vibe to be in always ready to help a girl out with a smile on their face job well done and fast. I highly recommend them . read more

Nick was as honest as they come. I had a check engine light on my Ford Explorer 2004 but it was running well. Nick check the code and then cleared out the code and explained that sometimes the check engine light comes on for several reasons but since it was not running rough that should be fine. He told me if it comes on again to bring back my Explorer and he will fix it. That is great customer service and he won me over on my future car repairs. Thanks. read more

I thought one of my tires was punctured since the tire pressure indicator showed up yesterday. Found this garage from Yelp that is on the way to work so decided to give it a shot. Nick is so nice that he checked and inflated the 5 tires (spare tire too) with no charge. The dog Buddy in the garage is friendly too. read more

Joe at this garage is one honest and knowageable guy. This has been the best expereince I've had with a horrible smog expereince. Joe is completely up front about cost and what needs to be done. You pay for what you get. Here you get expert auto mechanics and excellent customer service. Joe is now my go to guy for all car issues. I just can't say enough nice things about this garage. My 1983 maxima fell the smog test in all areas, I researched through all gold shield stations from San Francisco to San Jose before selecting Inner garage to do the work on my car. I wanted someone who had worked on older cars. newer mechanics only know the fundmentals, many never worked on older cars since they do not have computer plugin or diagnosis lights available. You have to looked at diagram and test each piece step by step to find the cause. He tested and found one problem but that only half of the solution, so back to testing and came to concluction that I needed a catalytic also to make it pass the smog test. I had concluded it needed one but if you didnt test the all the parts before it gets to catalytic convertor, it could have lessen the life of it and would to replace again in future, a costly part.to replace, it pass liked a new car with hardly any NO2 and NoX, so now I have a car that should pass smog with problem the future unless smog related part fails. Showed me all the replaced parts and as soon I saw inside of the catalyic convertor, telling me if he didnt checked the O2 sensor it would have resulted another failure in the future. He did a thorough job in checking the engine, fuel and all related parts that makes up the smog test testing. Calls to let you know problems and solutions as well as cost to repaired, Got it back in 2 days now ready to run another few years until another smog failure. Has all the equipment to do other repairs needs and reasonable cost. read more

If you're looking for a honest shop, with excellent mechanics, this is the place for you. I thing Joe and his staff are the best! They will not let a car go out before it has been repaired correctly and tested. Great customer service too. This is probably why I have been taking all my car repairs and service to them for the last 10 years....You don't see businesses that care about you as well as your car like this anymore... read more

I attempted to bring my business here after reading recent reviews, I figured this might be the right place to bring my "old vehicle". After all I have lived right around the corner from this shop for 30 years, why not support the neighborhood businesses right. Wrong! I was told they no longer work on "old vehicles" because the parts are hard to get. They turned me away without even asking what the problem was. How did he even know what I needed? I was kind of bummed out especially since a very recent review had explained how someone with a similar problem and vehicle had a great experience here. Safe to say I would not recommend this business to anyone that I know. read more
