I have such mixed feelings because this is 5 stars for Tara, but 1 star for other providers. I've…read morethought about this review for many months. Long story short I really have a bad taste in my mouth from certain providers. I found them to be condescending and to position themselves as the authority, rather than evoking and collaborating with my wisdom and expertise on my own body. Also I find that people who are naturally thin tend to make a lot of assumptions about women who aren't naturally thin in terms of how fit we are. Your assumptions were wrong. However for Tara, she made me feel very seen and heard and took a far more collaborative approach. Additionally she stayed curious about what was going on and made some really crucial observations which lead to me seeking further medical tests and learning that in contrast to PT's diagnoses, I actually have osteoarthritis and a totally shredded up hip joint with multiple tears and degenerative cartilage at the most severe level someone can have. I wish I'd sought more testing sooner as I might have been able to intervene before the damage got this bad but super grateful to Tara for her insight and suggestions. She was amazing start to finish. So overall, mixed bag. I hope the other providers can take a more humble approach, recognizing the strengths and wisdom of their clients.

The providers and staff here are super competent, professional, gentle, warm and respectful. It's actually a hard feat to maintain all these qualities but they do it well. Emelie at the front desk who kept meticulous track of my billing, my appointments, my pcp referrals, my emails all with a friendly greeting each time. I could overhear her greeting all the patients in the same way, with warmth and professionalism. She knows the ins and outs of insurance, referrals, approvals etc and I appreciated her communication with my pcp's office. My own physical therapist Eric was knowledgeable, professional, beyond competent, kind and compassionate. The other providers in the office that I observed working with their patients were much of the same. What is most impressive is how they strike a balance of friendliness and professionalism. I saw them truly caring for their patients. Physical therapy isn't a quick fix for an issue. But this is a great team to guide you back to health. Be as patient and hard working in your recovery as they are. You'll see results. And if you have issues that maybe don't necessarily warrant a doctors visit or if your doctor won't refer you but you want to see a healthcare provider to guide you about musculoskeletal issues, you can make an appt and pay out of pocket. Of course it's not cheap but to put it in perspective, it costs more to get eyelash extensions. And these providers have years of schooling and experience backing them. I didn't know this but PT isn't only for injuries but can be applied to other issues like migraines and vertigo.

Through a workers compensation treatment for my ankle I was sent to OrthoSport Hawaii in Kaka'ako which is located right inside of Queen's Island Urgent Care so parking would be in SALT which is free for the first hour but with validation it's just an additional dollar for the next hour. My therapist was Alicia and I just loved her vibe very calm ad caring as she begins to figure out my issues other than the obvious as our therapy sessions went a couple times a week she gave me ways to not just strengthen at home but what's the proper way to do so as I've been compensating other areas because of my issues. Scheduling is easy and they send you reminder of your sessions which is great but working things out along with suggestions of support and techniques she's given me is great and do suggest take that care as it keeps me recover one step at a time. I am extremely grateful to the staff and team at Action Rehab, who made me feel right at home. Currently living in HNL and going to school. This PT clinic came highly recommended by my surgeon at Straub. (I also checked with my local friends here and they had lots of good things to say about this clinic too!). From the beginning, it was a seamless experience. When I called for an appointment, I was absolutely clueless about what to do to get set up. The super nice and helpful receptionist took care of everything for me! She took my insurance info and got the necessary authorizations from my insurance. (It was the last thing I wanted to deal with after being injured). I really appreciated how honest and transparent they were. All of their policies and procedures at the clinic were clearly laid out at the beginning so there were no grey areas. We discussed my treatment plan and how many sessions I would need for my rehab. They set the expectations with me upfront so I knew what to expect. They even helped me get more PT sessions approved with my insurance. That was a huge help! I worked with Cindy and I cannot say enough great things about her! She is so smart, kind, and fun to work with. I don't dread PT like I thought I would. As a matter of fact, I've learned to look forward to my PT sessions with Cindy. She has been pivotal in my post surgery rehab for my knee and I cannot thank her enough!
