Their location is very close to the Great Wolf lodge. Bryan was happy to show me the kennels upon request, Scott was kind enough to give us some tips on building our dog's confidence, and Gale was professional at all times. The presentation of the facility was clean, bright, and organized. The kennels are indoors with a platform that is attached to the wall. I can tell they spent a lot of time on their website as well, providing a plethora of info for you to indulge in should you have any questions. With that said, I do have some small qualms. I sent my dog's shot records as requested via email but I did not receive a confirmation of the receipt. When I called a couple days before our reservation to double check, I had learned that they did in fact receive my email but my dog did not have all his shot records present when I thought that he did. I was flustered at the thought of driving so far on the day of to potentially just getting rejected because we were missing information. Secondly, my dog definitely didn't use the potty enough. This may not have been at the fault of the trainers considering my guy probably held it in but he had thee longest pee of his life that I've ever seen after I picked him up. Since there's no knowing for sure how often supervision over potty breaks happen, my recommendation for all the first timers would be to not board your anxious dog. This dog needs severe medical treatment and I do not feel that Dr. Fay's office was giving the best advice on how to handle the conditions of the dog therefore I am taking it to a second opinion, but unfortunately, I cannot seem to get the paperwork that needs to have that happen and his health is starting to decline because of this ! I've been told getting records from this facility has been very difficult for not private people but other veterinary offices. This is very very concerning considering people want opinions and everyone takes paperwork at the time of the visit when they have an emergency case.

My husband had to physically carry him out of the vehicle. When I contacted the business, I spoke with Maddy at the front desk, who reassured me that my dog had not sustained an injury while in their care. However, I was not present and was never shown any video footage or documentation to support that claim, which left me with serious concerns about what actually happened. Months later, I received a brief email asking me to update my information in their portal. I responded honestly and shared how unsettled I still felt about the previous incident. Shortly after, a staff member called and said they would be happy to schedule grooming appointments for my dogs since they hadn't been in for a while. However, when I arrived to pick them up, I was told that my dogs were not actually scheduled for grooming but that they "accommodated them anyway." I was then informed that Friendly Grove would no longer be grooming dogs at all. The entire interaction felt incredibly confusing and dismissive, and it came across as though they were simply trying to push us out as customers. They offered a $120 credit for that service and essentially told us to find another groomer. My dogs had been going there for years, and $120 doesn't even cover the cost of a single grooming service. After years of loyalty, the lack of transparency, accountability, and communication was extremely disappointing. I expected far better treatment from a place we trusted with our pets for so long.

My dog doesn't have the best manners - but they see him for the big love that he is. They smile as big as he does when they see each other. They remember tiny details about his silly personality quirks. (Usually just seeing him once a year for a few days) They care for all of his needs and bring him so much joy. The first time they even texted details about his day to help us feel more comfortable leaving him at a new place. Every time he comes home from Sylvan, we can tell he misses all the friends he made at the kennel - human and other dog friends. Honestly, we would never consider taking him anywhere else at this point. Pro tip - the grooming and nail trimming service is worth every penny - and such a reasonable cost.
