I recently purchased a puppy from this breeder. I love the puppy he has a great personality and…read moreseems to be a great dog! He did become ill 2 days after we brought him home with dehydration and had a bacterial infection. He was very lethargic on day 2, he would not get up and when he did he would fall over. He did vomit and have diarrhea. So you can see my concern on bringing him to the vet. He had to go to the vet and have IVs and antibiotics and stay overnight for 2 days. So as you can guess it was quite a hefty vet bill. I contacted the breeder and she did respond quickly, and asked to see the vet bills and blood work done. She disagreed with the vet's findings and had some opinions on his treatment, which did seem to make sense. I am not sure the exact cause of the infection, but my vet feels it happened with the breeder due to the time frame. The breeder stated she felt his blood work came back with high white cells due to his vaccination being done the day before we picked him up, due to none of the other puppies being ill. She stated we did not prove he was ill and therefore would not return any of the money we paid for him. She also stated she does not provide any refunds unless the puppy is returned to her. So be aware if you purchase a puppy you will not get any part of your fee returned if the puppy is ill unless you give it back and prove to her standards it is ill. The breeder stated she has been breeding dogs for 20 years and has seen this happen before due to the puppy adjusting to a new home and they can become dehydrated quickly due to the vomit and diarrhea. I was concerned he had Parvo but the tests were negative. He is now been home for a few days and seems to be doing great. My kids love him and he has a great demeanor. I think they also go under the name of Curly Top Labradoodles, since the paper work I received with his shot and worming records had this name on the top.

I would agree with the previous poster…read more We purchased an older pup about a year ago. Let me state that we love this dog and she is a perfect fit for our family. I made an appointment for her a couple days after we took her home. The records they gave us were a bit suspect and the vet questioned the validity of them. It was discovered that this poor girl had a serious worm problem. We had that cleared up. She was having some issues with controlling her bladder in the house. We chalked it up to issues of the change to our home. She was exhibiting some symptoms of a bladder infection, based on our internet research, so we took her to the vet again. She indeed did have a bladder infection. It was treated with antibiotics and seemed to clear up, but returned a couple weeks later. She was treated again and it appeared to be fine. She got another one. In the span of four months she had 4 bladder infections. Finally we had her bladder tested directly and an ultrasound. Poor girls bladder was riddled with infection and had polyps. It appears that we never completely cleared the infection due to the severity. They placed her on human antibiotics, which seems to have done the trick. Between that and cranberry pills a couple time a week, we seem to have cleared that hurdle. I should state that we have never addressed this with the folks we got the dog from. Based on what we paid for her and our research, after we took her home, I would say this was more of a back yard breeder situation. I am not implying that they don't care for the dogs they are selling because they appeared too. But, now that I look back, the woman we dealt with, in Battle Ground, WA, may have been a bit overwhelmed with what she was dealing with. The house was over run with dogs and had a serious cleaner/ammonia smell. There was a good bit of feces in the back yard but generally cleaned up. Once again, this dog is the perfect fit for our family and we wouldn't give her up for anything, but if you happen to purchase one of these dogs, please make sure to have your vet check them out ASAP. I probably wouldn't recommend any of my friends or family to get their dog here and would most likely go somewhere else if we were to get another one.

Coming from the competitive dog sport world, and holding a degree in Cynology (the study of canines or domestic dogs), it seems Bart has been a passionate and lifelong student of the dog. Just google and see for yourself. Rather than "quick fixes", he dives deep to understand first and foremost, your dog. For example, understanding HOW your dog operates is fundamental to building a healthy relationship to him/her so that your dog does things WITH you (and not FOR you). This is the critical foundation which Bart builds upon in shaping the behavior of all the dogs he works with. It just makes sense. Since we brought our German Shepherd pup to him last year, we have watched his remarkable transformation around obedience to now protection work. And it hasn't just been him! I have learned so much through Bart's online resources, lectures, and important discussions. This has been so much fun. In summary, we have discovered in Bart, a rare combination of practical expertise, scientific understanding, and authentic compassion and advocacy for dogs. We cannot recommend him more!

Once a week got him on phone & told he would email or call...none of either. Phone won't accept voicemail, no response to text. There are 4 of us who compete in events listed on his website with two of us who have tried to nail him down for training, with being left feeling he has no interest. One has been trying for months. Having to go with somebody else to train with after well over reasonable amount of waiting with no attempt from Bart to return contact. Blows my mind how a trainer can just ignore multiple long term clients who are looking for somebody to train with closer to home. Will look at him again if he surfaces. But we have dogs in need and competitions upcoming and can"r afford to sit and wait to see if he surfaces. One of the group has already been with Scott Haywood w Centrailia Pet Resort, I'm going to sign up tomorrow as he has followed through with getting back, setting prices, and setting concrete schedules.

I think that for the things they do, $35 a night for boarding is a price that can't be beat. They offer group play or one on one play. Drop off and pick up are easy to navigate. Their location is very close to the Great Wolf lodge. Bryan was happy to show me the kennels upon request, Scott was kind enough to give us some tips on building our dog's confidence, and Gale was professional at all times. The presentation of the facility was clean, bright, and organized. The kennels are indoors with a platform that is attached to the wall. I can tell they spent a lot of time on their website as well, providing a plethora of info for you to indulge in should you have any questions. With that said, I do have some small qualms. I sent my dog's shot records as requested via email but I did not receive a confirmation of the receipt. When I called a couple days before our reservation to double check, I had learned that they did in fact receive my email but my dog did not have all his shot records present when I thought that he did. I was flustered at the thought of driving so far on the day of to potentially just getting rejected because we were missing information. Secondly, my dog definitely didn't use the potty enough. This may not have been at the fault of the trainers considering my guy probably held it in but he had thee longest pee of his life that I've ever seen after I picked him up. Since there's no knowing for sure how often supervision over potty breaks happen, my recommendation for all the first timers would be to not board your anxious dog. Overall we are satisfied with the experience.

I'm…read moreposting this to inform others in the community, especially pet owners, about what we experienced during an incredibly difficult time. This is not meant to discredit the clinic as a whole, but to be transparent about an interaction that had a significant emotional impact on us and may be important for others to be aware of. Our family recently brought our cat to Columbia River Veterinary Specialists during one of the most painful moments a pet owner can experience--having to say goodbye. I want to be very clear that the majority of the staff we interacted with were kind, patient, and compassionate. The woman at the front desk treated us with warmth and respect, the staff member we spoke with on the phone beforehand was helpful and understanding, and the veterinarian who ultimately assisted with end-of-life care was gentle, loving, and respectful. He took the time to explain everything clearly and treated both our pet and our family with dignity. Those are exactly the kinds of people you want working in a field that involves end-of-life care and emotional vulnerability. Unfortunately, our initial interaction with one staff member significantly overshadowed the experience. When our family first arrived, the individual who took our cat back (not the person who checked us in) made comments that strongly implied judgment about why our pet had not been brought in sooner. These remarks were delivered in a way that felt accusatory and lacked empathy, especially given that our pet was actively dying and we were already emotionally overwhelmed. Financial limitations are a reality for many families. Being made to feel guilt or shame for not having immediate access to thousands of dollars--at the exact moment we were facing the loss of a beloved pet--was deeply inappropriate and unprofessional. Veterinary professionals are entrusted with not only animal care, but human compassion. This was not the time for assumptions, judgment, or commentary--it was a moment that required empathy, discretion, and support. I'm sharing this because no family should be made to feel judged or shamed while saying goodbye to a pet. I sincerely hope this feedback is taken seriously and addressed internally, because the rest of the staff we encountered demonstrated the level of care and compassion that should be standard in situations like this. Our pet deserved peace and dignity in their final moments--and so did our family. I would like to call out Nicole Akerill aswell. She does not deserve to work in a profession like this! Thank you very much.

From the front desk, to the technician, to the veterinarian, they were all so kind, warm and excellent at their jobs. Yes, it's expensive to have a dog need emergency services. Having a great team ready to take care of your pet the best they can is exactly why I highly recommend bringing your pet here for emergency needs. Thanks Dr. Tegan and staff!
