We've been to Pacific Catch many times over the years as it's convenient when doing something in Golden Gate Park. Always good food but nothing too amazing. We went for a recent Aloha Friday as you can get $6 Mai tais during happy hour if you wear a Hawaiian shirt. The Mai tai was actually good and pretty strong! They are normally $15/each so this is a deal. We started at the bar with coconut shrimp which came with a Thai sweet chili dipping sauce ($14), with about 5 pieces and really tasty. After we were seated, husband had the miso black cod ($35) which was a glazed Alaska sablefish, with furikake rice and sesame green beans. He enjoyed it but the piece was not huge for the price. I had the fried shrimp tacos with black beans and chips and salsa, which were really good. It comes with 2 tacos served with chordido and a spicy aioli ($19). Delish and filling! Frequent customer here... Sad to report, the Surf and Turf was horrible. The lobster tail was so overcooked, it was like shoe leather, plus with a burn taste. The skirt steak was close to the same. We came by for lunch on a Saturday. We were met right away at the hostess stand and sat right away. The restaurant was at about half capacity. The waiter came by right away and got our drink orders while we figured out what we wanted to eat. They have great lunch specials that will not leave you hungry. I got the Poké duo bowl picture attached. It was delicious. My wife got a salad with tofu. It came out accidentally with salmon on it. She doesn't eat salmon so she let them know they made a mistake. They took the dish back and within a few minutes. Both enjoyed our food and drinks. This is a nice place. Great big windows very friendly staff even semi outdoor seating with a fire pit. Love this place and location!! I'm not a seafood eater, but I truly enjoy the bowls here. I order teriyaki chicken when I'm here. This particular location is fabulous for when you're at the DeYoung or Cal Academy or the Arboretum or the tea garden. I love everything about it. For the same reason, I've also downloaded their app and given them my birthdate. People who turn over this information get an annual birthday gift, generally in the form of a regular-sized "bowl" of which there are several to choose from. I recently popped into this Pacific Catch location to enjoy that complimentary bowl. Though I was headed back to Marin - where there's also a Pacific Catch - I've personally found that I prefer the food at this location (despite both featuring the same menu). A few years back Pacific Catch remodeled this location and I really enjoy the airiness; it well-matches the food. I opted for the Mexican Grill Bowl featuring seared shrimp and a lot of other ingredients that they continually tinker with. I preferred back when this bowl featured corn on the cob (rather than corn off the cob, as it now does) but I can't argue with its taste or presentation: shrimp, corn, tortilla chips, guacamole, brown rice, organic greens and other things that I likely didn't even notice. This bowl was enough for two meals and the fact that I consumed nearly the whole thing in one sitting is a good indication of how much I enjoyed it. Pacific Catch - this location in particular - provides a reliably enjoyable meal and an ever-changing rotation of happy hour deals. I might not ever get excited to find myself here but when I do? I would want it to melt in my mouth so it was like a 3 out of 5. Just okay. The lobster roll was pretty tasty. The wagyu cheeseburger was cooked perfectly, about medium rare to medium. I don't want it to be chewy. Those are a 5 out of 5. I did like that they gave us a lot of greens for the salad and coleslaw. It definitely made the meal more filling. Booked a reservation for my family after my graduation ceremony, and this was the perfect spot! The atmosphere is casual-elevated, the interior is clean and open, and the space has plenty of large tables if you have a big gathering. The moment we came in, the 6 of us were seated quite quickly. A few of us ordered the Hawaiian Poke Bowl while the others ordered the Wagyu burger and the 3 piece fish and chips. For an appetizer, we ordered the calamari and Hawaiian Pork Belly Sliders. The pork belly sliders were delicious but for 3 mini sliders, $15 seemed a tad overpriced. Calamari was decently sized and good. Poke bowls were decently sized. My son's Wagyu seemed to please him though although he pointed out he wanted it plain with just ketchup, they still put all the toppings on it..rather than bugging someone about it, he scraped everything off of it. The fish and chips seemed to please the one who ordered it as it was perfectly crisp and flakey fish with plenty of fries. I think the only complaint is that they give too small a serving of the tarter sauce with such big fish pieces. My friends and I came here on a weekday evening and were seated immediately. With the wooden aesthetic and glass windows, the restaurant felt very spacious and pleasant. While my friends ordered two of Pacific Catch's regular sized bowls, I ordered their 2 pc Fish and Chips with regular fries. Our orders all came out at once in around 15 minutes. The slaw on the side and jalapeño tartar were good sides to the main crispy fish and medium crispy fries. The portion size was just right, as I was able to finish all of it and feel full at the end. The small salad which used to be dinner sized and smaller than the large size was served in a very small bowl and the ingredients were so inferior, it really surprised me. The poke was fine, but the main ingredient, the greens were the pre-washed mixed greens anyone can buy in bulk and that part was ok...not enough greens, but it was fine. The seaweed salad that can also be purchased in bulk was so salty and had no business in that salad because it fought with the dressing and was just not good. Then we come to the pickled cucumbers and wow were they so salty and also had no business in this salad. I can't complain about the avocado because those have always been sliced and presented well. This used to be a salad made with love. Not anymore. It's just those conflicting ingredients, purchased in bulk and tossed together in a small bowl. I tried ordering the side salad a few days ago and it was served in what you would use to serve a side of bread. There is no way to eat a salad in such a tiny rectangular bowl. I had to ask for a small plate. So now I'm wondering what's happening at PC? My all time fave place for years and years and now, I don't feel the love. Well except from my favorite waiter, Geo. Lastly, I just looked at the app and noticed that once again, I did not receive points for my meal today. We live nearby and have been coming here for years, mostly all good experiences. However last night we had a major issue which still feels unresolved. We visited with family and kids. Kids ordered FISH and chips. Our family is pescatarian and does not eat meat. Our kids have never eaten meat before. After eating much of their dinner, we realized the kids were served CHICKEN and fries. I didn't want to make a scene in front of the kids, trying to downplay what just happened. I went to find the manager and he lightly apologized, but did not seem to understand the importance of the error or take responsibility. Their end result was to remove $12 from the bill. After driving around five minutes, we managed to get a parking spot in Golen Gate park. Once we entered the restaurant, the hostess greeted us and seated us right away.
