We've been back for lunch twice in July, and I've really enjoyed an item from their Feel Good 5 menu -- the Citrus-Pepita Salad with Shrimp (5/5 $13.95 +$7 for Shrimp). This is a nice bowl of organic greens with avocado, orange, jicama, pepita, queso fresco, pickled red onion, cilantro, and quinoa served with a citrus-mango vinaigrette and a grilled lemon -- topped with six shrimp. The Guacamole (4/5) here is very good, and I enjoy the Tropical Ice Tea (5/5). There are two patio seating areas, one of which is pet friendly. Both are quieter than sitting in the dining room, which is where we sat today. Service varied across these two lunch visits It was terrific today with an attentive server; last time, a different server was nowhere to be found when we needed her. UTC paid parking (1st hour free). Dog

Found in a mall with some wonderful restaurants, this has a special, upbeat decor that makes for dining in a great atmosphere. They have indoor and outdoor seating for all tastes. The service was good, but not incredible. The maitre'd was friendly and seated us quickly in a booth. The waiter came over to ask about drinks and delivered them. After that, we ordered. We ordered the edamame as a starter. It was very good, served warm with a delicate seasoning. I ordered the miso black cod which was amazing. My husband ordered the Summer Sea Bass which he really enjoyed. Here is my big problem. We asked to have the edamame brought out first as our appetizer. We didn't have it in front of us for more that 5 minutes and they brought out the entrees. When I specifically say we want something first and then they bring out the rest of the food so quickly, you can't enjoy everything. Either the entrees get cold while you finish the starter or (as in this case) we stopped eating the first course, ate our entrees and took the edamame home. They are not the only restaurant who has done this. However, at a high end restaurant, it was unexpected. Also, I ordered an ice tea to drink and was never offered a refill. To sum it up, the food was incredible, the atmosphere great and the service horrible. The server only came over once to see how we were doing. This person definitely needs more training in customer service.

Overall, we had a good experience. The food was fresh and nicely presented, and everything we ordered tasted good. However, nothing really wowed us or made it stand out from similar restaurants. The only downside was the service. There weren't many guests, but it still took longer than expected for someone to come to our table and check on us. Still, it's a nice spot with decent food, and I'd be willing to give it another try.

My second, third, and fourth visits to pacific catch included dining at the exterior low-top tables, interior hightop tables, and carryout. SERVICE was quick for carryout and smaller orders. FOOD 5/5 West Coast I Salmon Bowl: roasted cauliflower, avocado, radish, cilantro-pepita pesto, soy-tahini drizzle, brown rice-quinoa, organic greens (ingredients were all fresh and flavorful) 5/5 Poke: fresh, loved the sprouts 4.5/5 Steamed Clams w herb butter broth w white wine, Fresno chiles, cilantro, lemon, grilled bread 4.5/5 shrimp ceviche: acidic, flavorful, chunky 4/5 Eggplant: herbaceously flavorful although a bit undercooked for me 4/5 Brussels: tender and slightly crisp 4/5 Mai tai: spirit and sugar forward (too sweet for me)

I used to go to pacific catch years ago when I lived in the Bay Area so a few years ago I was happy to hear they were opening down here. I have been multiple times over the years and the service and food have remained consistent. After an appointment, I was hungry and realized I was close by. Perfect lunch option. Parking is free for the first hour and I was able to get a spot relatively quickly. I was greeted and seated instantly. I ordered an Arnold Palmer and one of their choices of bowls. My Arnold Palmer came quickly and the server was friendly. My sashimi bowl came shortly thereafter. It was a good size and tasted good. The pickled veggies were a little salty but I just kept them to the side. I will definitely continue to visit as it reminds me of home and it's quick, easy & reliable when I'm hungry

Great fresh sashimi bowls and excellent barramundi and salmon entree. Good services. We requested booth seating and got accomdated this time.

their salmon poke bowl, with cooked salmon????!?
    Shane C.

the "salmon" poke bowl is cooked salmon. I brought it to their attention and they just said sorry, we dont do salmon poke. Then why is even an option to change from ahi tuna to salmon. This is just misleading. The attitude was too bad, you got what you ordered. This is definitely not what id expect from a nice restaurant. I can see why its now empty and no longer the go to place anymore.

Went for a work lunch before it got busy (around 11am) so that was nice. Service was good and food came out at a decent time. The menu had nice options as well. The food itself was kind of mid. The food wasn't hot when it came and it seemed like it wasn't the best quality. It just tasted ok. I was pretty full after but nothing really stood out to me.

This was my first time trying this place and it was wonderful! The restaurant was very cute classy Oceanside vibes and very welcoming. We got a seat outside on the patio and it was so peaceful not even feeling like you're in a mall! The food was so fresh and flavorful! I had the fish and chips which had a jalapeno tartar sauce which was amazing!! Fish was cooked perfectly. We also got steamed clams which I hadn't had before and WOW. So yummy and flavorful and the sauce they come in!! My friend got poke which she loved and ate every bit of! If you're looking for a nice spot while in the area this is definitely a must!!

We actually eat Pacific Catch pretty often but mostly by ordering to-go or through a food delivery app. The food has always been pretty great even for take-out so I was interested to see if our dine-in experience would be any different. If you're coming for Happy Hour, let the host know because I think it's only available at the bar and/or the tables around the bar. Since we weren't interested, we asked to be seated in the outdoor patio. Cabo Calamari: Great appetizer to share, tons of bite-sized, crispy pieces. The chipotle aioli is spicier than you would think! I really liked that they also fried slices of lemons. Fish & Chips: Comes with three pieces of Alaska Cod, slaw, and your choice of fries, salad, or chips and salsa. The cod batter was fried crispy but I thought the fish was just okay. Not the best in San Diego, but not the worst. Korean BBQ: This is my go-to order and I usually get steak. Super saucy, which goes great with the kimchi fried rice. You also get an egg with the yolk still intact so I'll usually pop it and mix it in with the rice for some creaminess. I usually don't have an issue with the brussels sprouts but this time, it didn't seem like the flavors absorbed well so each bite was bland. Overall, a good meal but a little pricey, especially with the Korean BBQ. Make sure to sign up for their rewards program because you can get free bowls on your birthday!

I absolutely love going to Pacific catch for tasty casual eats. They're usually always is room in this refreshing restaurant to do walk-ins and I've always had extremely friendly staff. I've been here a few times and I really like the pupu platter if you'd like to get a lot of diversity. As you can see from my picture, however I think one of the best items on the menu is this trio of Ahi prepared three different ways. The sear was too perfection and melted in my mouth. I also really loved both different types of poke and a generous amount of rice, seaweed salad, and other add-ons.

I have reviewed Pacific Catch in Tustin and as always this place is up to its great standard. Place is located inside La Jolla Mall. Lots of parking at the entance of the restaurant, but it is paid parking. Ordered the Coconut Shrimp as usual, it was good today although they over fried a bit the Coconut. Had the Blood Orange Margarita for the first time. Spicy, sweet and tarty at the same time. Loved it since I don't like se For entrees we had the Chicken Tinga Bowl and the Sashimi Bowl. Both were an explosion of flavors in your mouth. The Sashimi Plate was very big and complete. Relaxed ambiance. Service was good and fast.

But it was a lesson he needed to learn and i didnt want my discomfort to hinder that. (Mind you the bathroom was in the middle of the stairs lol midway the lower and the upper floor). So was i ashamed to get out? Yes. But the staff, so empathetic. So nice about it. Told me i didnt need to apologize and that they get it. Our server was phenomenal and really elevated the experience. She gave great recommendations and even let us sample both the Cabernet and Merlot when we couldn't decide on a bottle of wine. We ordered a variety of dishes: * Spicy Edamame: very flavorful, but definitely on the spicy side so be warned if you're sensitive to heat. * Fire Fire Roll: light and fresh fish, but the seared salmon flavor didn't really stand out. * Orange Roll: also light and fresh, but I didn't really pick up the citrus/lemon zest element. A bit underwhelming compared to expectations. * Salmon Belly Nigiri: very fresh and a favorite at the table. * Crab Roll Special: generous portion of fresh crab. * Yuzu Cheesecake: served with three spoons to share. It tasted like a classic cheesecake, pleasant, but I didn't really get a distinct yuzu flavor. The space is cute and conveniently located in a shopping center with plenty of parking. Overall, the atmosphere is laid-back and comfortable. While the rolls themselves are fairly simple and not especially standout, everything tasted fresh and the service was excellent, which made the experience enjoyable.

I loved that we were able to taste test three different sakes before choosing, and the carafe of sake was perfect for two of us to enjoy with our meal. It was also fun to choose our own special sake cup/glass from Ichifuji's eclectic collection for the evening I truly enjoyed all of the 19!! courses but the chilled chawanmushi, king salmon & all the nigiri were my favorites. When you come to Ichifuji, know that you are getting a very authentic Japanese dining experience. This is the real deal! Another fun thing that Ichifuji does is they give you a punchcard, and once you've tried all four seasonal menus, you will receive a special gift from Japan. Arigato gozaimasu!

All delicious and wish I could've gotten seconds! - Sashimi: Chef's selection of 4 different sashimi with a side of seaweed. I enjoyed them all but my favorite are the toro and amaebi. Love that they also fried the shrimp head and gave us a choice of salt & lemon or ponzu sauce to pair with it! - Yakimono: Grilled cod with asparagus, crispy fried lotus root, and goji berries. The cod was so buttery and cooked to perfection. - Nigiri: 9 piece nigiri chef's selection. All were super fresh, melts in your mouth, and of course delicious! - Uni wrap: I'm not sure if this was part of the nigiri or its own course, but chef let us try San Diego Uni & Hokkaido Uni! Both incredibly yummy. I feel like the SD Uni has a nice sweetness while the Hokkaido Uni has a slight bitterness. My group mostly liked the Hokkaido Uni. - Chawanmushi: Very flavorful and silky as I think they added dashi to enhance the egg. - Soup: Red miso clam soup (Nagoya style) was delicious. Super comforting and savory to end the course out before dessert. - Dessert: Hojicha Panna Cotta with strawberries! I usually don't like the desserts at most omakases, but I loved this! Great balance of light sweetness of the Panna Cotta with the sweet and acidity from the strawberries. [Service] - Friendly, charming, attentive, helpful - Shoutout to our Chef, Hiro-San & server Ken-San for making sure our experience was beyond amazing! Thank you! [Ambiance] - Classy, upscale, intimate - Has sushi bar & patio seating [Overall] - Made reservations for a party of 6 for my bf's bday and they definitely made it special! I love that they took pics for us with the chefs and even gave us a print out with a stand. So cute! - Would definitely come back for the food, vibes, and great service! - Each season they have a different menu, if you had all 4 on your stamp card, you'd receive a little gift! I definitely would love to try all 4 seasons but unfortunately I don't live around the area.

There was no wait here but parking was a nightmare and there is almost no street parking right around the restaurant which is near the trolley tracks. I recalled coming here for a light dinner with my husband many years ago and thinking it was good, but expensive. I asked if they had Japanese soda for my daughter because it was not on the menu, and they said no, but after we came back from the bathroom the host had found one for us. They gave us chopstick helpers and were very nice. We ordered braised pork belly as an app and wagyu nigiri, albacore, hamachi, salmon belly, 2 salmons, and unagi. I think that was all. They nicely split the order so half had no wasabi for the kid. They were very considerate and I appreciated it. The food however took a while to come out. The braised pork belly was ok, but the fat had not rendered as well as at some other places so we ate around it. The flavor was good though. The hamachi was probably the best item-tender and tasty. The albacore was standard and a generous piece, but the salmon was a bit tough and my kid who usually inhales salmon tasted and then left the salmon. The wagyu had good flavor but was surprisingly chewy. For $26 I would expect it to melt in your mouth but it was not easy to bite through. The eel was very tender but had a weird taste, and was disappointing. I found myself chewing on a scale from maybe the salmon and was overall underwhelmed by the food. The bill for a soda and the sushi came to almost $150 after tax and tip for me and a 6-year old. Usually my husband and I and my kid go to places with better quality and pay the same price for the three of us. Will not be back.

We ordered the miso soup, spicy edamame, Den Miso pork belly skewers, tamarindo tuna ceviche, seabass serrano, crispy karikari tuna, and mochi ice cream for dessert. To drink, we had the Taiyo Margarita and the Clouds of Matcha cocktail. The spicy edamame was probably the only dish that fell a little short for us. It wasn't bad by any means, but we were hoping for more flavor. The absolute standout was the Den Miso pork belly skewers. My husband and I both took our first bite at the same time, looked at each other, and immediately said, "Oh!" We were genuinely surprised by how juicy, tender, and flavorful they were. There were only two skewers, but they packed so much flavor that we instantly wanted to order another plate. The tamarindo tuna ceviche was fresh, light, and refreshing. The taro chips added a nice crunch without overpowering the dish. The seabass serrano was enjoyable, though it wasn't a stand out for us. The crispy karikari tuna (spicy tuna over crispy rice) is one of my go-to orders whenever I visit a sushi restaurant, and this version was up to par. The only component I wasn't crazy about was the long, thin slice of avocado on top--I personally could have done without it, though my husband actually liked it, so that's just a matter of preference. We finished the meal with mochi ice cream, which was the perfect sweet ending. Overall, we had a great dining experience. Between the rooftop ambiance, attentive service, and several delicious dishes - especially those unforgettable pork belly skewers - we'd definitely come back and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a great dinner spot in the Gaslamp.

This place is pretty walkable from the convention center though. They have a pretty good drink list that's moderately priced about $20 + for a drink. We got the Kosho Hana -which has patron, strawberry yuzu kosho and topped off with egg white and an orchid. I couldn't really taste too much of the strawberry but it did have more of a Yuzu taste to it. Very light, refreshing and great drink overall. It's not overly sweet, which was perfect. -Service was very attentive which we liked and they also had some good recommendations for the food. -also saw the menu that they have a Monday through Thursday happy hour from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. Overall, a great place to just sit and grab some drinks. May need to come back for some of the sushi.
