ZERO STARS........... WARNING I called to see if their ahi was processed using carbon monoxide and James said yes. Well................ that process has been banned in Japan since 1997 and Europe banned it last year. First of all carbon monoxide! That gives that bright fresh red look to ahi that masks whether a fish is fresh or not. Tuna starts to turn brown, but using this carcinogen, one can't tell! I certainly won't be eating that! Should you?????? read more

First time here. First, they cheap out on cocktails and glasses of wine. Would you like some margarita with your ice? The wife's glass of cab was inadequately filled. Embarrassingly. The food tasted ok, I guess. Fish portions were rather skimpy. It felt nice when we first got there, but as the evening wore on, I felt like I was in an Outback Steakhouse. Upon receiving the bill... a very expensive Outback Steakhouse. To top the lackluster experience off, our waiter was a total newb and a recent promotion-within... previously, a dishwasher or busboy. Wife claimed the place was much better 7-8 years ago. Meh. read more

Great lunch here which also eliminated a wait that you usually come across at night. Nice location, like the vibe, casual but also nice enough for a date, you can dress up or down. Service is excellent, the staff is efficient and friendly, food comes out quickly and is presented nicely. We shared the platter with fried fish, clams and shrimp as well as a side of fries and it was pretty good. Neither of us were a fan of the clams, but the rest was great. Prices are a bit high, but given the quality I feel it is justified, they also have specials when you sign up as well as happy hour deals. Great local chain worth checking out! read more

What has happened to Pacific Catch???? The food and service have taken a nose dive. Two of us went for lunch and were promptly seated. Then we waited....... the menus were on the table so we looked them over. After 10 minutes or so a very pleasant man brought water and glasses. Then nothing. Tables around us were being served drinks and food. still no sign of a server for our table. A waitress came up to the table, no greeting at all, asked if we were ready to order, which we did. She left immediately, in a while our meals were served by another person, who asked "who has the tacos?" dropped the plates on the table and left. The tacos were not what was ordered and we had trouble locating the server for a correction. The other order was a West Coast style Grilled Salmon Bowl that has always been the go to. It was tasteless, as well as the mixed organic greens looked like they belonged in the compost pile. When brought to the attention of the staff member who took the order, she just stared at the plate. I said they are not supposed to be brown. The reply was no they are not, I will tell the chef., and she walked away. Not seen again until the bill was presented to us. I think this may be my last visit to what used to be a favorite. read more

The ahi poke was pretty ok... the sea bass tasted like canned tuna though... ew. But the two stars are because the iced tea was seriously the best ever. Ughhhh I give and extra star also because the staff kick ass also... read more

Pacific Catch in SF is one of my favorite places to eat, so on my way back from Bolinas I found one just in time for lunch! Soooo disappointed. Service was horrible, hostess was very bland, yes I said bland. Our waiter took our order and a while later brought us our food, that was it, no follow up, no refill on beverage, we had to stop him to ask for the bill. Oh and by the way they give a complimentary appetizer but they didn't bother giving us one, just all the other tables. Ok, so service was not very good, but to save us from complete disaster at least my salmon fish and chips were good, one of my favorite dishes. The coleslaw which I usually really like was waaaaay salty, who adds salt to coleslaw, yuck! I probably wont visit this location again. I think I'd rather wait an hour for a table in SF then visit this location again. read more

We love Pacific Catch and grub hub delivers :) the poke salad entree with brown rice is delicious. We have not eaten in the restaurant, but the take out food is point. Thanks PC for the quality fish and ingredients! --- Update!! 5 star experience and the deliver service through caviar gets the food fresh and delicious to my door. They started a sustainability program I really like and the lobster cocktail and California rolls are divine!! I'm a loyal customer and will keep coming back read more

No more great happy hour. It used to be great and packed and we would meet friends here. We went last week and wondered why there were so many tables available. Well, the prices went up and the portion sizes went down. We also paid $18 for a seared Ahi salad. The Ahi was sliced paper thin, as you can see from the photo. What a rip. We will not be back. read more

Took my parents out to a mini vacation up north from SF in Marin city and was craving for something that wasn't our typical Chinese spots. I know there are pacific catches around in SF but eating here with my parents is already a stepping stone to eating out of their comfort zone. When we got here, we were seated quickly. It took us a while to pick some food because they're really picky on their food when it comes to non- Chinese food. My mom ended up ordering fish & chips (typical when it comes to these type of restaurants for her), dad ordered the kbbq with rice, and I ordered the poke salad bowl. I gotta say... the kbbq ribs flavor was on point....very juicy and full of flavor, the fish n chips were cool too except the fries could be a little more fried as it seemed a little under fried. The poke bowl on the other hand, was something I would go back again for... good portion and tasted FRESH. It ended up being around $20 per person after tax and tip. Overall a good experience and wouldn't mind giving it a second try! read more

A fan of the original Chestnut Street location, seeing Pacific Catch in Corte Madera was a lovely surprise. Colossally larger than its San Francisco sister, this location also boasts a more extensive menu. We started with the Baja Shrimp Ceviche (lime, chili, cilantro & avocado with fresh chips). Lots of bite and very fresh. For lunch I chose the Thai Coconut Shrimp (skewered shrimp, dipped in coconut milk batter, coconut flakes & 5-spice, with sweet potato fries). The shrimp were a bit difficult to remove from the skewers and removal often caused the batter to fall off. Still, they tasted great! If you're a fan of aioli with your fries, as I am, ask for a side of the wasabi mayo - it tastes super great with the sweet potato fries! Service is attentive, portions are generous. read more

Do Yelp reviews have an expiration date? I reviewed this restaurant when it opened 3 or 4 years ago. My original review is gone.... This shopping mall fish restaurant is directly across the passageway from IL Fornaio. There's plenty of parking, especially during the week. I'm ambivalent about his place after 3 meals here. The ambiance is neo-Asian-American modern. It's a bit too stark, generic and Ikea feeling for my tastes. The food is acceptable, but nothing special. For my tongue, there's a distinction between clean and corporate sterile. The fish and prep that I had here leans towards the antiseptic. There ain't no regional anchor here to tell you that the chef's roots are Japanese, or Californian, or European. I guess the recipes here are "world food" - Planet Earth. Hey listen, the ingredients are fresh enough, no horrible sauces are added, no excessive fiddling. The food is good but boring. The prices are fair, especially when you consider that across the passage you will spend double to triple for a bellyful. Hence, Pacific Catch gets my A-OK 3 Yelp star award. read more

This was a birthday dinner we sat next to the kitchen which was not ideal as they loudly ranted on about customers, even calling a regular out as an alcoholic. The lobster roll was mostly prefrozen claw meat on cold Hawaiian rolls. The teriyaki chicken was not great. The sea bass was overcooked. The drinks were disappointing. The service was awful. read more

PROS: The food was great! I had the wasabi rice bowl with ahi tuna. It was amazing! I've also tried their fish tacos, which are also just as amazing. The sweet potato fries are some of the best I've ever had. Even the iced tea was good. Lol. CONS: The service is extremely poor. We had to ask to get our drinks refilled twice. The server never checked on us until, of course, we were done with our meal. He said he would give us a minute to check over the menu and it was 15 minutes until he returned. The only good part of the service was the reservation and that they actually had a table reserved for us. Such a shame, as the food is AWESOME. read more

Pacific Catch - Rice bowl with ahi tuna! Soooo good!! - Seafood Near Me - Corte Madera, California

The recent bad reviews here are truly not fair. Pacific Catch is consistently one of the best meals in Marin, their seafood is also the freshest and best value for the dollar anywhere in the county. Their Ahi Tuna salad changed the game, who would've thought that Ahi Tuna with salad would be a great choice? But it is and it's awesome. It's coming back to the main menu and you can always ask any server and they will get it for you. You really can't go wrong, but the poke and fresh fish choices reign supreme. Thoughtfully prepared with love, I always feel great after I eat a meal here. Service is also outstanding with Omar (the bartender) working double time every day to make sure everyone is looked-after and happy. Diane is another outstanding and unbelievable over-the-top server, who is friendly with everyone she meets. The place is managed by Jack who is a thoughtful guy always working hard to make everyone's experience perfect. I know this sounds like an ad, but I love Pacific Catch and my whole family loves Pacific Catch, it's just a great choice for fish with a fun, eclectic menu in Marin. read more

This is by far the Best Place to eat. Everyone was so friendly and the food and desert is so delicious. The cook Carla is very experienced in her skills. The Salmon Chowder is absolutely delicious. Omar the manager is very friendly, and make sure you are satisfied. I recommend Pacific Catch Corte Madera the best around. Thank you Cynthia Jackson read more

I know this is a small chain, but I thought I'd give them a review anyway. Had lunch here last week with a coworker. It has a great menu, and the food is solid. The place looks nice, and our waitstaff was cordial, attentive and friendly. We shared the calamari, and it was surprisingly good. My bud had the tuna, and I had the salmon. It was a solid performance, everything was tasty and cooked properly - you know how easy it is to mess salmon up by overcooking it, well not an issue here. We had white wine by the glass, the wine list is competent enough for a place like this. If in Corte Madeira, this is a good place to have a nice lunch with a friend, a business partner, or your boo. read more

We went into this place because we love fish and because of the convenient location. The food sounded very good on the menu, but I got a uncertain feeling about this place when the server gave us edamame with Pretzel Goldfishes. My sister ordered the Salmon Wasabi Rice Bowl and I ordered the Spicy Mahi Mahi Sandwich. The rice bowl looked excellent but was lacking in taste. I think, for me, they needed more work on the sauce. The sandwich was pretty good as well as the sweet potato fries. I gave this place a 2 because like Yelp states, I've experienced better. I would not go back to this place. read more

Yum, yum, yum! We ordered a bunch of take-out for lunch and it was AMAZING! They have a great variety of items on the menu from miso soups to salads to tacos to asian-inspired bowls to fish & chips... The run-down on our order: - Hawaiian poke salad: what I ordered, included fresh avocado, ginger, baby tomatoes, carrots, etc, heaven, absolutely amazing! - BBQ Unagi bowl: what my bf ordered, included seaweed salad, ginger, etc and amazing unagi (eel) - Ahi wasabi sandwich: 3 of co-workers ordered it with sweet potato fries, I didn't try it but they all devoured it - Edaname: only mediocre... I hope work decides to treat us to Pacific Catch again sometime soon!!! read more

After our Saturday morning movie ritual we headed over to Pacific Catch for some lunch. I had to do a double-take. The Corte Madera location just recently built this beautiful roof to cover their expansive patio area. In addition to the patio, a full bar too! We ordered the hawaiian poke appetizer which came with a side of wonton chips. Delicious chunks of ahi tuna coated in soy sauce, sesame oil and other spices. We washed that down with a glass of their refreshing lemon grass ice tea. Hubs ordered a two piece fish and chips where his "chips" were their signature sweet potato fries. I ventured out and tried the Pacific Catch version of a Vietnamese Sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries too! I've not had fries this good since I worked out at Big Rock Ranch. The ciabatta wrapped sandwich, I ordered, consisted of a jalapeno-slaw with a siracha aioli and marinated beef. Ooh weee, this sandwich was so spicy and muy delicioso! My secret to eating spicy food is to chew with my mouth closed. Trust me! It works. Hubs took a bite of my sandwich and his lips burned for a greater part of the afternoon. My only wish was that the beef was a bit more tender. So Pacific Catch! Great new dining area and always an excellent meal...and great service! Until next time... read more

What a great casual Californian/Asian Fusion place. A lot of Asian fusion places have the sorta stuffy, chichi feel, but this was definitely not a restaurant like that. With great sushi as well as solid sandwiches and salads (and fish n chips!), this seemed to me like the child of a sushi restaurant and the Cheesecake Factory. For their spicy tuna (very good!) they use real pieces of ahi tuna, not the mashed up kind that most sushi places serve. A true sign of good fish. The roll's portion was sizable as well. The Crispy Catch of the day was tilapia, which isn't my favorite, but the sandwich sounded soo good, so I decided to go with that. It was sooo good! And how filling! I think they only flour their fish when they fry it, because the batter was very light. The bread was a delicious foccacia-like bread and it all went so well with the cayenne, cumin, tartar sauce, and coleslaw flavors in the sandwich. My sister had fish and chips and was very satisfied. She recommended the sweet potato fries, and they were very good. Will be back when I don't feel like splurging on Il Fornaio... which will be whenever I am paying... read more

If you are looking for a fish and chips meal, pacific catch is not the place to go. I always love getting a good meal at pacific catch, especially their bowls, but this one time I was craving some fish and chips. I was shocked to discover that they do not have half-and-half or cream for the coffee. They only serve milk! I had been to the Pacific catch in San Francisco and they had delicious cream or half and half (can't remember) The food server here told me that she was really embarrassed that the management will not allow half-and-half or cream. Her assistant-guy was also very apologetic. I doubt I will go back here again just for that simple thing. Sorry guys! My money is going elsewhere where I can experience cream with my coffee. Heck, even half-and-half would do! read more

Went to Pacific Catch yesterday evening to pick up. Ordered "Rainbow Sushi / Sashimi and Crab".... DON'T ORDER IT........ The sashimi slices were soooo thin I could see thru each one. Did not taste fresh either, but the few thin slices were not worth it. And the crab had so much mayonnaise I thought I was having a crab sandwich. Pick another entry read more

*Continuous quality issues* I'm so disappointed to write this but each and every time I dine in or take out at Pacific Catch in this location there is always an issue with the food. Tonight there were issues in all 3 of our dishes. The rice bowl: the brown rice was undercooked & exceptionally chewy. I also requested salmon and it was forgotten (sadly this is not the 1st occasion). The rising sun sushi roll: the tempura prawn was raw -- like RAW. The 3rd dish of the korean beef bbq had an almost raw egg. Meaning the white of the fried egg was still clear -- sadly again this is not the only occasion. Every time we order this dish in the restaurant we have also had to send it back because the beef was undercooked when we requested it 'medium'. Judging from the long list of other sub-par reviews below it is even more disappointing that management aren't choosing to address these ongoing issues. read more

Solid Baja shrimp and fish tacos. They don't skimp on the fish or shrimp so well worth it for $6.

We've been going to several branches of Pacific Catch for awhile now but I must say this one is probably the best thanks to the outstanding, consistent service and lovely mountain vistas from their roomy indoor/outdoor patio dining area. They recently changed their entire menu. My husband went tonight for a celebration and tried some of their new dishes, but the bowls in particular are awful. I've never sent a dish back in my life, but the entire bowl was just covered in vinegar and was inedible. On the plus side, the serving staff was incredible and kind. We made sure to tip well-- she agreed that the management made some bad calls changing up the menu. read more

One word: DELICIOUS. It was difficult to decide what to order but we finally decided on the most extreme and probably delicious (read: unhealthy) of their options: the Mixed Catch basket- 2 pieces of fish, 3 coconut shrimp & 3 crispy oysters with jalapeño tart. It was heavenly. For dessert we chose the Fried Dulce de Leche "Spring Rolls" with vanilla ice cream & caramel sauce. This just may have been the most delicious dessert I've ever had. Make sure you share it because it's a good size and very rich. Can't wait to go back! read more

A nice lunch stop while shopping at Corte Madera Town Center. Their Ahi Tuna Wasabi Bowl was surprisingly good. Tuna is not completely raw as the surface is cooked. They use shoyu based sauce with wasabi and goma sauce. Next to Ahi Tuna is shredded daikon radish and shredded seaweed. It's a California version of Japanese Tekka-Don. They also have meal portion Ahi Tuna salad, which is also good. I haven't tried it, but they also have interesting "fish and chips" pacific style. read more
