This is one of few places nearby with a menu that isn't all about carbs in one form or another, not as healthy as it might be but if you're trying to lose some travel weight the salads are tasty, filling and low nutrient density. Otherwise the food here isn't particularly interesting, and wouldn't have been worth writing about except that on a recent and particularly cold, wet evening I ordered a bowl of my ultimate comfort food, clam chowder. What arrived was such a major departure from the expected I had nowhere else to air the case, so now here we are. What arrived at the table was essentially a kind of thickened clam broth. Not flour & water library paste thick. but with the right pasta would have been an ersatz linguine alle vongole (less actual clams). Or adding potatoes would make it the soup of the day which I've been noticing more often on menus is termed "potato chowder". (about this last I'd like to take issue: how can a thickened potato soup rightly be called a chowder given that in traditional chowder recipes the essential ingredient is in fact potatoes (no? ask google). I figure to a marketing kind of mind calling this bland goo a chowder lends a certain cachet that mere "soup" lacks, for whatever that'$ worth) Where was I? oh yeah, i should add that neither potatoes nor pasta were in this clam soup, but to avoid a claim that the order didn't meet the "clam" description, it did include clams. However the clams were all in shell, half-open and floating or submerged in the broth. Not what I expected and definitely messy to fish them out. And of course, it's a chowder so where were the potatoes? But the clams were fresh and with enough sourdough to add the necessary carb load I decided on this cold wet night not to make an issue of this. So if you didn't complain, well you must have had no complaint... except I did. The bowl of clam chowder I was served looked nothing like the customer photo posted somewhere on your yelp page. I absolutely adore Pacific Catch! The sheer range of food and menu choices is amazing. Every dish I've tried has been fresh and incredibly tasty. The sashimi bowl is my absolute favorite. I would be happy to eat that literally every day, but the Korean barbecue plate with ribs and steak is also fantastic. The location is easy to get to, park, and get back on the freeway. The outdoor patio is lovely, and the staff is always so friendly and attentive. read more

If we were to talk about service alone, I would give Pacific Catch 5 stars because everyone here is attentive and super friendly. The taco plate on the other hand is a different story. I got the steak tacos and while the presentation made it look delicious, I bit into it there was a half inch of cabbage and some shredded carrots holding up about 6 pieces of steak to make it look full.... I love ending or beginning my week (sometimes it's both) with Pacific Catch in The Corte Madera Town Center. Happy hour on a cold afternoon near the fire pit is so nice. When it's warmer, the outdoor section is a treat. I love the tropical plants sectioning off the area. Happy Hour is my favorite as it gets the pau hana vibes going at a lower cost. The poke is fresh and flavorful. I've also been a fan of the tacos lately. Baja tacos at $7 are pretty good and packed with cod, shrimp, or steak. The corn tortilla is perfectly soft and crispy. The guacapoke at $12 or poke trio at $20 are also favorites and on happy hour. I love to wash it all down with a spicy pacific with tequila instead of vodka. At $9, it's a tasty treat. Shout out to the best and hard working bartenders! Also, a 16oz ice cold bikini blonde at $6 does me solid every time. Great service from Marisol and Carla with a menu that shines Pacific Catch is always a fun spot and this visit was made even better thanks to Marisol and Carla. They were absolutely amazing. The menu is honestly the highlight here, creative, fun, and full of variety. While the food quality does not quite feel as elevated as the menu reads, everything was still delicious and made for a great meal. We ordered the lobster roll, mashed potatoes, Japanese BBQ eggplant, the halibut summer special, and chamomile tea. The eggplant leaned a bit heavy on the sauce but still delivered the flavor I was hoping for. The mashed potatoes were perfectly done, rich and satisfying. The lobster roll was not quite the quality I have had here before but still tasty. My halibut was the standout. So fresh and well prepared, I would definitely order it again. Okay this wasn't a miss but it just wasn't the hit I was expecting. First off, Miller was a great server. Very friendly! The restaurant is decorated well and I love the theme. The food was so so. The California roll was a solid A-. I wish it was served with chopsticks. Manila clam chowder was great! I thought it was a bit much adding in the shells and a nuisance to take out. The elote corn had a little kick that my husband enjoyed. The kimchi rice was the biggest disappointment. First off, my husband is Japanese and knew right away that we were basically eating Mexican style rice as opposed to Asian rice. The rice also was not fried at all. There was a sauce drizzled on top and we added the fried egg for $3 (which was a mistake). My boys enjoyed their chicken strips kids meals. When I called once I got our orders home and realized the salad was missing much of what was supposed to be in it, I was out on hold for 15 minutes, then told I was a liar. I had photos, but they were too busy. I got the manager and asked for a refund. We're waiting. I have been to Pacific catch on prior occasions and never had an experience like this. We ordered two dinners to be delivered to our home, literally five minutes from the restaurant. We were told that the delivery person had picked up the order and was heading our way. It then took about 20 minutes before we finally got the order as the driver took a grand tour around our entire neighborhood. Clearly, he had no clue where he was going despite Google maps directions straight to our house. Food arrived, soggy and cool. My softshell tacos were a dripping mess and because they only use one soft tortilla for each taco, and they turned essentially into a shredded mess. I ordered the black cod which came cold and way too skimpy of a portion, considering the price. My wife ordered one of the bowls and they completely confused the order, despite it being very clear as to what she did order. So, I'm disappointed that the restaurant appears to have lost quality control, and that neither of the dishes were up to par. We have been repeated customers to PC some with better experiences than other, but if this quality continues, we will find alternatives. read more

I came here two weeks ago from visiting the Redwoods. My in-laws love to visit this location when they are shopping. Food - fresh, delicious, healthy, and filling. Service- Nice, but low staffed and a little slow Ambiance- nice, open air, and ocean colored I ordered the Wasabi Ahi Bowl- the wasabi vinaigrette was sour and tart in a good way and it balanced the ahi and avocado. While traveling through the area, I was seriously craving some fresh seafood. This spot came highly recommended by the local hotel staff, and with so many great reviews, it felt like a solid choice. I was seated quickly near the bar, but unfortunately, that's where the service kind of fell apart. I sat through about 2-3 innings of baseball (luckily it was on TV) before anyone came by to take my order. My drink never showed up, and my food actually arrived before it did. The bartender was very apologetic and offered to comp a dessert or another drink, which I appreciated -- but then the check arrived at the end without a mention of it again. Now, onto the food: the crispy fish taco was genuinely delicious -- light, crunchy, and packed with fresh flavor. The Chilean sea bass taco, though, missed the mark for me. It was a bit too fishy and had more heat than I was expecting, which overpowered the fish itself. The fries were also a letdown -- limp and undercooked, not crisp or golden like I was hoping. Overall, this place was just okay. Would I go back? Maybe, if I was nearby and in a pinch -- there's a lot more on the menu that looks promising. We came to celebrate a birthday and got seated immediately without reservations at 7:30pm on a Friday. We were seated on the patio, which was perfect in the summer evening. Nice casual ambiance, the restaurant was pretty full the entire time we were there. We got the mai tai pitcher for $55, which we felt was worth it to split between the 3 of us. We ordered the sambal sea bass from their summer bites menu and a spicy tuna roll to start. I liked that the sea bass was fried to crispy on the outside but still really soft and tender meat on the inside. I wish the sambal glaze was spicier and that there was more of this sauce on the fish itself. Spicy tuna roll was okay, I felt there could have been more tuna but at least it was spicy enough. For entrees, we got the ahi tuna bowl, yellowtail chimichurri bowl, and the miso black cod. Portions were large but flavors were nothing special. The fish in the ahi bowl could have been fresher, the fish tasted over marinated and the texture was off. I did like the toppings it came with like the seaweed salad and Japanese-style pickled cucumbers and ginger. Yellowtail bowl wasn't very memorable, not bad but not amazing. The miso black cod was cooked really well, but there was an overwhelming amount of green beans on the plate. The part of the meal that was most lacking was the service. We didn't get any water brought to us until halfway through our meal and had to ask multiple times to get silverware for the table. I mentioned to our server that we had a birthday at the table and they gave us a comped brownie sundae, but I thought it was strange they brought it out without a candle or even saying happy birthday at the table. Second location i've tried, i am usually towards the Walnut Creek location but was in the area! Always usually a fan of their Wagyu Burger but I thought I'd try a few different things today! Pacific Catch is definitely cheaper than most seafood places but it can get pricey depending on what you opt for. I ordered for takeout, but from what I can see they offer inside and outdoor seating with limited party sizes outdoors. I really enjoyed the food like always, but I felt like the Ahi poke was a little too salty/savory. The calamari was not that crispy but still good. Otherwise, mostly everything else was pretty good! I would recommend this place if you're looking for something mid-range in price but good for food. The portions are big enough for one person or two if sharing small sizes. This place had downhill very bad, I don't know, could be because of new management. Is there is even a real manager??? I remember the old manager, they need to bring him back, he was a superb. We've been here many times before, and usually enjoy the meal. We asked to be seated in the fireplace patio area (inside a covered patio), but didn't notice that the patio was filled with a family reunion of sorts, taking up almost all of the other tables. The noise level was deafening, and their young kids were running around yelling, bumping into chairs, and pretty much out of control. Not pleasant. As parents/grandparents, we would not have allowed our kids to run wild like this! It was much better when they all left. Should the staff have stepped in? I don't know. The food was good, not great. My West Coast Salmon Bowl had a small slice of fish, somewhat under-seasoned and slightly overcooked. The salad that came with it was underdressed. I asked the waiter for more dressing and that helped. The Peruvian Patatas Bravas potato appetizer was excellent. Just spicy enough. My wife had the Fish and Chips Mixed Catch platter. I'm all for the environment and a seafood enthusiast. So how could I say no to my friend's suggestion of Pacific Catch? I made reservations through OpenTable to secure a spot but found it wasn't necessary. The decor mimics an island-inspired restaurant with hues of blue and nautical designs. There's plenty of seating inside and outside for all party sizes. I thought the restaurant was clean until I spotted a roach by me--gross! I was a bit worried about service from reading previous reviews and found it to be true. Though it wasn't busy, service wasn't attentive and quite slow--on the flip side our food came out fast. The menu includes starters, entrees, sushi, and bowls with a Pacific Rim flare. There were three of us and we each chose to order our entrees. I ordered the Small Asian Chimichurri Salad with Grilled Kanpachi. I recently discovered I enjoy chimichurri and don't often eat kanpachi so chose this dish. The dish was well balanced, creamy and savory, and quite filling for being small. Both of my friends ordered the Crispy Alaska Cod Four Piece. He ate all of his, while the other took his to-go--generous portions. If you're a devotee of seafood and want to support the environment--sustainable seafood is the way to go. They have locations spread all through NorCal and SoCal. Their Corte Madera location is inside the Town Center with ample free parking around. So I did since I was a first time visitor, wanted to see the menu before entering and was enticed to try the restaurant because of the offers. As I entered I asked the Hostess if either of the rewards could be used for in-restaurant dining. She really didn't know, didn't ask anyone and finally said they should work no matter how I order. Found out only after I had been seated that the offers, both of them, are only good on take out phone orders, according to my server. I ordered 3-piece fish fry. It came with coleslaw, 3 nicely breaded pieces of cod and French fries. The coleslaw was warm and had to be sent back. Cold coleslaw was returned. The fries were hot and pretty good while the cod was fine. At no point during my meal did my server return to ask how I was doing. The expression that you only get one chance to make a good first impression applies to this visit. It was not a good first impression. I did speak to the manager before I left, and he did tell me that the reward could have been applied to in-restaurant dining but his staff was not aware of that. Been eating Pacific Catch dine-in or takeout for 20 years (but only because my elderly parents like it), and over the past five years this restaurant can't do anything right twice in a row. If your current order went well, you can be sure your next order will be wrong. Tonight they totally forgot our $8 side order of french fries, forgot to include the usual cole slaw with the fish and chips (not the first time), and for the first time ever, they even forgot the Thai chili sauce for the coconut shrimp. Tonight was an all-time low. Every other delivery, they overcook the coconut shrimp so badly until they are horribly dark brown. If you custom order fish and chips, you will never ever get the logical proportions of fish to chips (fries) to tartar sauce. This restaurant could be a graduate school case study in how *NOT* to run a restaurant... how over and over customers suffer the consequences of culinary staff level underperformance that somehow upper management never manages to fix- only allows to get worse and worse and now is ridiculously unacceptable for a county like Marin. Finally, I have provided constructive feedback a half a dozen times a half a dozen ways, including through LinkedIn and nobody ever ever replies to you- and you never ever get your money back for the lost or missing food the restaurant staff messed up or just plain failed to give to the delivery driver. read more

I've been to Pacific Catch many times, which makes this experience even more disappointing. The service was shockingly bad. Our table was completely ignored. Not "slow service" ignored. Not "busy night" ignored. We were the only table that servers consistently skipped while they checked in on literally every other table around us. No check-ins, no follow-ups, nothing. I had to get up FOUR separate times just to ask for a single to-go box because they kept forgetting about our table entirely. Because the service was so poor, we decided to order several items to go. The bag they gave us didn't even fit our order. It was clearly not the standard bag they usually give. It honestly looked like a random bag pulled from the back, completely unfit for the amount of food we ordered. This is not what I've experienced at Pacific Catch before, which makes it worse. If this had been my first visit, I would never come back. Being repeatedly overlooked while watching staff attend to every other table is frankly humiliating as a customer.
