This was my first time coming to the Corte Madera location, and I was very impressed. Usually we go to the Walnut Creek location, but I won't be going there anymore. The Corte Madera location is beautifully newly renovated. The ambiance was a perfect setting to just relax and enjoy some great food and drinks. These come with sauces that are nice and complementary to the dishes. The poke ahi was very nice in a bed of delicious salad, with seaweed salad, ginger and other goodies. My daughter got the spicy tuna on salad which proved to be too hot for any of us. I was in the mood for seafood today, but I didn't feel like driving to San Francisco because it was raining hard at night; so I decided to give Pacific Catch a try which wasn't too far from my hotel. They're located at Corte Madera Town Center, next to Safeway. I was seated next to fire pit at patio which was all glassed in. Best seats in the house. Hardly noticed the rain outside because it was perfectly cozy and warm. Besides decent wine list, they have a good selection of tap beers and a full bar. Menu consisted mainly seafood dishes and appetizers, but they also offer non seafood items like steak, ribs and chicken. Food is reasonably priced and decent portions. I was kind of disappointed that they didn't have any clam chowder on hand. The cold, wet weather made it quite suitable. My server suggested I try their Peruvian chupe which is seafood and rice type soup. I decided to try it, along with the fish and chips. The soup was fantastic. Very flavorful broth and not too fishy. Loved fish and chips as well. Batter to fish ratio was on point and fish tasted fresh. Nice crisp texture and really meaty. Tartar sauce and sweet spicy sauce that accompanied was a good compliment. This is a good, decent option outside of SF. Service is prompt and friendly too. Definitely coming back next time I'm in area, especially their happy hour which I hear is excellent. read more

I went to pacific catch Friday night where I sat at the bar with Jaxton bartending. It was very busy but he greeted me right away and said he would be with me in one moment, which was actually only a moment. A lot of places will say they'll be a second but then take forever, Jaxton took less than a minute to get back to me. He made my drink and it was the best drink I have had. Then I got the poke which was amazing. Jaxton even got me some extra sauce for it. With Jaxton behind the bar the establishments ambiance was very chill. read more

I ordered them well it's was beyond spicy and over salted I couldn't continue eating them that way. We had our waiter that night the fires are very salty he was gracious apologetic asked would we like another side order. We used to go here and order from here frequently. The pros: --These guys clearly care about sustainability. They provide detailed info on the origin of their seafood, which is fresh and (according to my husband who eats seafood) really good. --Some great, interesting vegetarian options. The tofu is excellent. --Many healthful options across the board. You can "eat the rainbow" here (vegetables, not skittles). --They make one of the best spicy margaritas in the North Bay --Servers are great, knowledgable and friendly The cons: --Multiple times, the vegetarian dishes in our takeout orders had stray pieces of fish in them --At times, the fish portions are skimpy--once the salmon on a full-sized main entree take-out order weighed in under 3 ounces --The menus never change. After going there for years, we stopped because we grew sick of the same options. Also: --We had one insane delivery experience, where the order arrived missing the fish from one entree (which we had ordered on the side). Not a huge deal, and understandable since it had been ordered on the side, but when I called to let them know, I spoke with two people (the second a manager), each of whom insisted that no, they are very very careful when packing up to-go orders so there was no way that the fish was missing. Wait, what? Did they think I was executing a fish scam--calling up claiming it was missing so that I could score a free filet?? Finally, the manager angrily asked what did I want him to do about it? We must have gone on a really bad day according to the reviews. It wasn't busy and it took 15 min for our waitress to get to our table. She was nice. We had high hopes though due to location and decor. My coke was flat and came from the bar so it was already mixed with whatever else was in the soda gun, i only took one sip and drank the water. My partner ordered fish and chips. 2 pieces of fish, each one about the size of 2 pizza rolls. Not fresh at all, very fishy, spicy tartar sauce and there was a hint of jalapeño?¿ Fries were nothing special. Bland and tasted like they were already prepared, got cold then put back in the fryer for our order, fryer needed an oil change for sure. Oh, and fries aren't supposed to taste like fish. I don't care for fish so I ordered the wagyu burger. The only thing I could taste was the sharp white cheddar and aoili. Mine came with the same tiny portion of bottom bag precooked refried fries. My stomach is making lots of noise as im writing this from the bathroom. For the 3rd time... This is all I've eaten today and I was JUST FINE before.. Coleslaw... Attention kitchen: DON'T PRE MIX, mix the cabbage and dressing to order because it came out soupy like caramelized onions. I don't leave reviews that often and went out of my way so management is aware. I've been a prep cook as well as a line cook so I can immediately identify what's going wrong in the kitchen. There was also a cost of living surcharge on the ticket... Just pay your staff properly and pass it along in a price increase. You're in Marin County, its ok to charge $1.00 more for most items to make up for it. Seriously.. Staff seemed uninspired across the board to impress. If they were inspired and happy we'd tip better and the increase wouldn't be necessary. Stay on top of prep, smell the fish that's prepped before you put it in the fryer or buy quality fish, clean the fryer every other day and don't cross contaminate with jalapeños lol. Drop The wagyu from the menu and just use regular beef because there's too much happening on that burger to use wagyu. Honestly not being rude or going Karen on you. Also, if the manager (assuming) is going to walk around all the tables constantly he should stop and check in on the customers. Picked up the vinegar from our table to put it back and said nothing. OH! We ordered chips and guacamole that never came but kinda glad because a previous review stated that the chips were stale. Remember, date your prepped supply and always go by the "first in first out" rule and throw away items that are expired. Manager, the staff should be excited to greet and talk to customers. We took a risk and lowered our expectations, but it was pretty filling and had more fish and avocado than expected. Can't go wrong with ordering ceviche here if you've always wanted to try. What I loved best was the service! 5/5 to our server who was energetic, friendly, funny, and fast! The rest of what we ordered (fish tacos and mahi mahi sandwich) was a solid 3.5/5, but nothing to write home about. Tip: you can mix and match your taco fillings even when you order two, which was a nice bonus! Prices are probably higher than the food deserves, but typical for this type of place so no complaints. We came to pacific catch today for the first time. Our first impression wasn't great and we were seconds from leaving when (we believe) the manager came to our rescue. He sat us down and was very apologetic for a minor incident we encountered with a server ... Sonia was our server, in my sons words she was the kindest and most alert about his allergies. They saved the day. The food was great!! We over ordered but enjoyed everything. All of the staff is very friendly and attentive. Alvaro was also very friendly and knowledgeable! Each time we've had different servers (Milton, David, etc.) but always consistently terrific service. On this visit, we were so fortunate to be waited on by the exemplary Mckenna P, who was so attentive, friendly, responsive, positive, and understanding. We were a challenging table with young pups and Mckenna treated us with such poise, professionalism, and bright energy. Pacific Catch has become my favorite Happy Hour spot as it's always so welcoming to all: two and four legged guests alike. I'm giving them a 5 star for today's visit. It was my husband and I first time however, this is my 88 year old mother's monthly Kaffe Klatch meeting place with her German friends. We took my parent's here today for their 64th Wedding Anniversary. Both my Dad and husband had the 3 different catch of Fish n Chips. My mother had a Crab Sandwich. I had the crab Louis. My mother and I picked a lot from our husband's plates. We both kinda wished we too had ordered that plate. My Crab Louis was very good but for the price it was more of an appetizer. My Mother's sando was very good. We ordered their coffee and it was perfect. We also ordered the Carmel French Vanilla Ice cream and it was divine. We also got the chocolate creme Brule, excellent but a little rich but well worth it. The nicest touch at the end, our waiter told us the desert was paid for by the Pacific Catch as an Anniversary gift. That was unexpected and was soooo soooo sweet.
