THIS REVIEW IS "ONLY" FOR THE "LEMON OLIVE" CUPCAKE…read more.. Today is my birthday and my friend stopped by before work to bring me some goodies for my birthday. She knows I love sweets and do a lot of baking myself, however, I HAVE NEVER TASTED A CUPCAKE THIS DELICIOUS........EVER!! It's truly moist, "flakey" if you could call a cupcake flakey at all, has nooks and crannies as I broke it in half (thinking I'd only eat half and save half for later)... and honestly, lemon is NOT my favorite of anything if I had to pick. So for this baker saying this lemon olive cupcake is the VERY BEST cupcake OF ALL CUPCAKES that I've ever tasted, is saying A LOT. I'm totally a cake person, so the slight glaze on it is more than enough for me! She also bought me a carrot cake cupcake. It's good, but not above and beyond to make a name in this review. There are plenty of carrot cake recipes and this one is a 7 on a scale of 1-10, IMO. ... but the lemon rates 38 on a scale of 1-10. LOL

This place is always packed with a long line for ordering. The food is organic, healthy, and…read moredelicious! I usually get whatever salad I'm in the mood for and then add the protein. Their sides are amazing, especially the vegan Mac and cheese and their quinoa with yogurt. This time I ordered the Brussels and Kale salad with Chicken. I am upset I forgot to ask for extra dressing because I'm a saucy girl. Their little dressing container is not enough for the large Togo bowl. Luckily the grapefruit and grapes added flavor to it.

Brunch at Great Maple easily earns a spot in the upper tier of Newport Beach brunch destinations…read more The space feels effortlessly stylish -- bright, energetic, and polished without trying too hard. Even during peak brunch hours, the atmosphere stays lively rather than chaotic, which already puts it ahead of many popular spots in the area. We went straight for the Rib Eye Melt and the Steak & Eggs, and both were standout choices. The Rib Eye Melt was the star: tender, flavorful steak layered with perfectly melted cheese on crisp, buttery bread that balanced richness with texture. Every bite felt indulgent but well executed. The Steak & Eggs delivered exactly what you want from a classic done right -- a well-seasoned steak with a beautiful sear, cooked perfectly and paired with eggs that tied the plate together into a satisfying, no-frills brunch win. Service stayed attentive and efficient despite the crowd, and dishes came out paced perfectly. Great Maple understands elevated comfort food and executes it consistently well. Come hungry -- this is brunch that leans generous, satisfying, and absolutely worth the visit.

It was one of those experiences that got me yelping again…read more.. Excellent food. Ribeye hash did not disappoint, the boiled kale balanced out the meat and carbs nicely. The strawberry donuts were a great finish, amazing texture unlike any donut, almost a cross between a donut and bagel but better than both. So why the 3? From the moment we sat down the service was off. The server didn't bother to ask our side of the table what we wanted to drink, nor did he give us a menu til I asked. And when I asked for a water he responded, "You want another water?" I wasn't even given a water to begin with.

The ambiance is so cute and soft, and the decor really adds to the overall vibe of the place. Service was fast and friendly throughout the meal. The hot honey pizza was great to share, and the spicy pasta was especially tasty with a really good kick of flavor. Prices felt reasonable considering the location & atmosphere. Overall, definitely a spot worth coming back to.

Underwhelmed at best…read more First you walk in the chairs are all stained and look dirty. The afternoon tea is $110 and the Los Rios Tea House blows this tea away. You receive your choice of tea and it comes out in metal tea pots. Usually a tea is served in cute porcelain tea pots into cute tea cups with florals on them. These were just regular coffee shop tea cups. There were no florals on the table except for TWO stems with a yellow round bulb on them. They forgot to give us spoons to stir our tea. We had to ask for them. A tea is usually 3 tiers. Savory, sweet and scones. This was 2 tiers. Savory and sweet. The sandwiches were average at best. The Pendry doesn't live up to any of my expectations for what they charge. The Elwood membership is ridiculously priced for the very little that you get. I will not be back. To many other restaurants in town that do a much better job with food, ambience and service.
