Their tank water heaters are the same as you would get a home depo, junk. They do have a lot in stock of plumbing material but if you have issues with what they sell they don't stand behind there products. They have enough customers that small guys don't matter to them. This is for their admin staff.... Was trying to locate CI grates for Christy drain boxes. Tried to check PACE. Turns out you cannot even check PACE's inventory without opening either a cash or open account. Fine, I will jump through that hoop, even though it might be a waste of time for all involved if they don't have the grates. After a couple of emails with their credit dept., crickets...no response to my followup. And this was just to open a simple cash acct! BTW, we are CA licensed GCs. I know that they treat non-comml customers like crap...but I guess even as a business, if you are not part of PACE's club, i.e. a big corporate customer etc., you get the same treatment. So be it....bye bye PACE. You had your chance. Not wasting any more time on you guys. I don't normally spend my time writing reviews. But if you are outstanding or reeeallly crappy, you will get one. Terrible service! Huge delays that lost me a lot of time and money. This is the same story I tell in my review of the San Francisco store, but this is the facility that actually cut the pipe. I ordered some threaded pre-fab pipe, waited 2 days to have it machined, and when it came in... I couldnt screw a fitting onto 3 out of the 4 pipes I bought. Its as if they just threw some threads on the pipe and called it a day. I went to Home Depot to get a different length cut, and the guy made sure a fitting screwed onto the pipe before he gave it to me. The guys at PACE didn't test the pipe, they gave me useless pipe that caused me incredible delays. It took a lot of arguing to get the pipe back to them for repair, and then another 4 days to get the pipe back from their machine shop, because the employee was too lazy to get it on a truck the night I brought the damaged pipe back. These people do not care about service, and should be out of business. I could have gone to HOPE DEPOT, or LOWES, and gotten anyone to do a better job than these idiots. DO NOT GO TO THESE PEOPLE IF AT ALL POSSIBLE! read more

After talking with the marketing director for a discount on heaters on a Thursday, she said she would let me know if they could help us out by early the next week. She never called back . after several messages and emails two weeks later she finally responded No. It took calling her superior to get a response. read more

Okay this place is far from cheap. If your looking for cheap there is several "box" stores you can go to. But if your looking for hard to find parts. or people that actually know what they are talking about this is your place. I don't go here a lot but EVERYTIME I have I was able to get what I needed right away without roaming isle after isle. read more

REALLY check your order before you walk away. There is a restocking fee and a bunch of wrong items/missing items attitude too. I'll return the stuff on principal because the person pulling the order inconveniences everyone when the job is in progress and the wrong parts were picked up. Pretty decent, they have stuff no other yards do. I prefer big box stores for convenience, but I have used paced several times this year for septic supplies I could not get anywhere. As it turned out Friedmans finally picked up what Pace had forever, but no where near the same selection as far as plumbing and septic go. read more

I get referred there when hardware stores do not have a plumbing part. After three bad experiences, I will never go back. The reviews are true. Unless you are a contractor, they do not want your business. Every time, they want to charge a very high price with the argument that 'contractors get special pricing because they have a license.' I could understand if they buy volume, but just because they have a license? I wanted some special vents. They wanted to charge me +$200. Online, it was $130. Customer service was much better online than either going in or talking on the phone with Pace. read more

I bought a Moen part for $25.00. I assumed that I could return it if it was the wrong part. I was not told about the 25% restocking fee and did not notice it until looking at my receipt after returning the item. I have been a retail customer there for fifteen years and have spent about $5000.00 remodeling three homes. Until now I have never had to return anything. I called and talked to the manager, Dean, and he was nice and offered to refund the $6.00. I told him to forget it because it was not about the money it was about the policy. 25% is an exorbinate amout to return an unused part in its original package with receipt after five days. By the way the same part sells at Home Depot for $19.95 and there is never a hassle to get a full refund. So be prepared to pay a higher price at Pace and take a 25% loss if you need to return merchandise. read more

I am a local plumber in Santa Rosa and have gone to pace for years. The inside sales team is knowledgeable and helpful. The counter staff are also helpful and do what they can to get you what you need(whether you knew it or not) and on your way with a smile. I read a compliant about the restocking fee but why would you leave without checking your order( like you should anywhere). Good guys good service and it's a locally owned company.
