Beware! Nationwide Lift of El Dorado Hills, CA came in at about the same price as their competitor…read morebut won our business with their initial customer service and promises of keeping us informed every step of the way. But they failed miserably!! We had both of our elderly disabled mothers living with us and this elevator was especially for my mother-in-law whose room was upstairs because my mother occupied the downstairs room because she is a double leg amputee and could maneuver better in that space. But my mother-in-law's mobility was declining, so we had to support her down the stairs to get to her regular dialysis appointments, thus the need for an elevator. We started the process with Nationwide in early October 2021 and were given assurances that the work would be done in a week, sometime between the mid-January to early February 2022 timeframe. Once we signed our contract and paid our deposit, we never heard from them again, unless we initiated contact. During this time my mother-in-law had to have surgery related to her dialysis and became wheelchair bound as a result in late 2021. So now it's January 2022 and we are desperate to get this work done because there was no way we could manage getting her up and down the stairs. She now had to be put in a nursing home to wait for the work to be done and also so we could ensure that she was able to get to dialysis regularly. We begged Nationwide to give us a date and to give us a template that they promised so that a we could get at least get the preliminary work done ourselves to speed up the process but little was done on their part to support their commitments. Nationwide failed us and they failed my mother-in-law! She died on February 28, 2022 waiting for the elevator and after catching Covid in the nursing home that she didn't have to be in if Nationwide had done their part!!! As angry as I am with Nationwide, there is a bit of a silver lining! They agreed to refund our non-refundable deposit which we were grateful for. However, they kept $3000 of it because, and I quote, "We have to make some money on this transaction, so it's a 'restocking fee'." Hmmm, I was under the impression that a restocking fee is charged if the merchandise is received and returned by the customer. This shady company redefines the concept of customer service, trust, and integrity. BUYERS BEWARE!!!

I tried to get my system fixed from the middle of January to the middle of March and finally gave up. Here is my experience. Week1: Called for service. No response. Week 2: Called again, spoke to a person who scheduled service for following week. Week 3: Tech came, said it was the motor, under lifetime warranty. Said he'd contact manufacturer, get back to me. Week 4 & 5: No response. Called again, spoke to woman who said she'd been wondering about this service call and would look into and get back to me. Week 6: No response. Week 7: Called again, woman said she's send someone out. I said someone already came out, said it was motor. She said he was new and more experienced tech might be able to fix. Week 8: While waiting for tech she called and asked if I knew I had to pay for service call. I said why, if 1st tech was incompetent. She said 2nd tech agreed with 1st tech, saw videos he took. I asked why he was coming out. She said she'd get back to me. She did and cancelled appointment. Week 9: She called back and said they got a new motor but had to charge me $1200 plus $400 service call. I said it had lifetime warranty. She said it didn't. I have paperwork that said it was. They refused to honor it. I gave up and had chair removed. They charged me $600 to take it out. They will fix it up and sell it for thousands. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS FIRM.
