If their entitled employees are any indication of the customer service this company provides, then I would run from this business. A few of their employees cut off me and about 6 other people who were patiently waiting to order lunch at a local restaurant. I stepped in to say there was a line and one of them brushed me off with some comment about being with another party. Edited a few days after I initially posted this review, to add a few pictures showing the condition of some of the units right after the Area Portable Services truck had just left, having supposedly serviced these units.   This is just downright disgusting and unacceptable.  Apparently, the only "service" being performed is to change the holding tanks, with no effort at all being made to clean any of the units, or to perform repairs or replacements for damaged units.   The issues shown in these pictures have been there for weeks, through several service cycles. ------ Currently working on a job site with portable outhouses serviced by Area Portable Services. The quality of the service is the worst that I have ever seen in this industry.  Whomever is servicing these outhouses is doing a very poor job of it.  Even freshly serviced, they are still filthy and disgusting.  The urinal in one unit has been clogged and flooded since I started on this project, in spite of that unit having supposedly been serviced several times since I first noticed this.  Most of the sinks have not been refilled, either, and have no water in them. read more

They were always available when we called, communication was great, billing/invoices were timely and the guy who came out weekly to clean the unit was WONDERFUL! Unprofessional, rude, lazy workers, and nasty restrooms. None of the workers spoke English and did a half ass job. They spend more time in the truck then they did servicing the restroom. We reserved two stalls for a small wedding backyard on Saturday (less than 100 people) and the stalls lasted 2.5 hours max. We were told that it could service 100 people for 6-8 hours but ran out of water and was completely out of order within 2.5 hours. A complete waste of nearly $1,000. When I called Rebecca (the service rep), she gaslight me the entire time by implying that I was lying about this (even though we have 100 witnesses who will definitely be spreading the word about this company's poor treatment and terrible customer service). The driver or company never gave us a help number to call and when I did call, it just rang and then went to voicemail. This company wouldn't even call me back to talk about this and instead sent me an email saying that the stalls were "simply overused" even though they stopped working after 2.5 hours. We were told these stalls would last 390 flushes but how does it make sense that there would be that many flushes within 2.5 hours with a total of 100 people (when certainly not everyone even used the restroom within that time frame). We will never be using them again and everyone that attended was appalled and will be spreading the word about this incident and poor customer service. read more

Rented a restroom trailer for my backyard wedding to avoid guests going in and out of my brother-in-law's house and any restroom mishaps. When the trailer arrived on Friday it was very clean and nice looking, and the delivery person told us how to hook up the electricity and water so we did not need to rely on solar power or the water tank it came with. He told us nothing about the restroom operation itself, and we assumed it would operate as a normal flush toilet. Later that evening when we got the chance to plug in the power and water and test, we discovered that the women's restroom had a dysfunctional flush pedal where if you didn't manually lift the pedal back up to completely level (and not too high) after flushing, the water would continue to flow into the toilet. We noticed a small sign in the restroom already but made a 2nd more noticeable one ourselves to hopefully warn our guests and hoped for the best. The woman's toilet filled with clean water 2.5 hours into my wedding and stopped flushing, so someone probably left the pedal down or too far up. We decided to lock up the trailers and direct people to the in-house toilets rather than calling Area Portable Services as we didn't want someone to come trying to fix or pump the trailer in the middle of our wedding, and at least we had the in-house restrooms as backup. After the wedding we notified Area Portable Services regarding the issue after just a couple hours and they mentioned that the women's pedal was operating 'as expected' even though the men's restroom side worked as you would expect a normal pedal to work. The water tank that comes with the trailer was also empty (even though the water supply we hooked up should have bypassed the tank). They kept saying that we 'should have called' and that we are held to contract, not entitled to any partial refund, and nothing else could be done. Just wanted to tell my story and warn others to work with someone else with more reasonable customer service and issue resolution. At least confirm the toilet functionality at time of reservation, confirm functionality at delivery, and contact the Area Portable Services team immediately if you find any issues or else they will not take responsibility. read more

We were having a memorial service for my father, and held it outdoors so we could keep people distanced. We decided that having two restrooms and a hand wash station would suffice. We worked with Rebecca, who was amazing. She gave us an estimate very quickly, then confirmed what we needed, and worked with us to finalize everything and ensure it was delivered on Friday for the Saturday service. They picked it up Monday. No issues. We did nothing except tell them where to place the restrooms. All set up and ready to go. Everything was clean and fully stocked. No offensive sharpie comments, no broken handles. The Special Event restrooms were nice. Also, we got four quotes and they were the cheapest. That was a bonus. Thank you! read more

My family holds a reunion on our property near Latrobe, El Dorado County. Access is via a very rough 4 mile dirt road. For about 10 years we used ABC/Action Services. Last year we used another very large portable services company. The units we ok but the service was not very good. The cost me about 10 hours of wasted time waiting for the delivery and pickup of the unites. Driving around Folsom I noticed a lot of Area Portable Services units at construction sites and decided to give them a try. There driver Art called me at 7:00am on Friday and met me at the gate at 7:45am. Delivery was made under some very difficult circumstance. It was raining and we had to drive through 3.5 miles of mud to get to the site. The pickup today went just as well without the rain. These units have nightlights which came in handy for the people sending the night Overall JJ's crew did a great job and the tone of service of everyone was great. No one I spoke to left me without an answer. I would recommend them and plan on using the next year. read more

I see AREA restrooms all the time! I am not one to ever want to use a porta potty but when I see an AREA one I know it's going to be clean. They are throughout our neighborhood for new construction, at the schools for sporting events, the dancing ones for ice rink and there was even one during a golf tournament. They are always immaculate! The high-end ones they have for events are really nice. They are basically nice restrooms on wheels. I will definitely continue using them for my events. They are really great at communicating and customer service as well. read more

Absolutely the worst service we have used since 1997. Told us one thing, did the opposite. The first unit leaked blue water everywhere; said we didn't want a sink, came back with a sink; charged us anyway; rep said she would call me, but didn't...several times; driver said he was cleaning unit weekly, lied, wasn't; asked for pick up at end of job, they waited a week, rep said she would prorate our bill, but didn't. Jeremy. What more can I say. He holds this place together and his personable touch on doing business with other small businesses is a blessing. Never fails to say hello and ask how you're doing. Wish I could say the same for myself. As we use between 30-60 toilets per year for work (hosting sales at people's houses that don't always want to have the public using their restrooms or worse yet have no working plumbing or are too dirty to use) we rent a whole lot of toilets and always a wash station as in general I believe it to be bad practice to invite folks to use the toilet without after washing their hands...these folks at AREA are always there in a flash,bring clean toilets and sink units... get the job done with no issues and the guys emptying and cleaning the units always keep their chin up with a smile on their faces which is quite a challenge if you consider what they wake up to each day for a job. I love those dudes! We tip em just to say thanks soooo much. So as toilet rentals go...best to hire this company that makes it easy, fun and doesn't act like you owe them your first born simply because they got paid to provide a service, like some local companies who rent toilets have been known to do.... finally found one that you can count on, is competitive price wise and willing to bail you out on short notice. You don't get what you are promised. First contact was 8 months ago to arrange for a air conditioned restroom for our daughters wedding. 6 months ago contract was signed and promised that everything would be perfect. Delivery was to be on the Friday before the wedding and pick up on Monday following. Delivery was not what we expected...Unit delivered did not have A/C, did I mention that the temp was 105 degrees? Called Melissa Setzer, (accounts manager ?) and she stated she would work on it and get back to me, 3 hours later I called again and she said everybody was out in the field but she would call me back. Fast forward to the next day, the day of the wedding, at 11 am I called her again, she had not called, at which time she said there was nothing that could be done. The dispatcher made a mistake and it couldn't be fixed...I bet if there was a mistake with my payment it would have been able to be fixed. I work for a very large business and deal with a multitude of companies as do most of our faciltiies. I have only written a couple of reviews on businesses and have come to rely on the reviews others post for recommendations. I have never experienced such unprofessionalism in a business that has received high ratings. I can only assume that these are ether people that are personally infoivled in the business or friends of them. I can understand there are hiccups when taking over another service account however, from day one in trying to get the numerous units at my facility serviced appropriately, I ran into multiple issues. Each time I called to see about the servicing, I kept hearing excuses saying they just took over this business, they are working on it, etc. Finally, when it became a health & OSHA issue, I had to tell them to come pick the units up. Then the billing nightmares came and it became serious harrassment on the part of Area Restroom Solutions. From a customer service standpoint he rudeness of the owners astounded me and I would definitely recommend against going with this business. There are other much more professional services available that want and are willing to provide quality services. read more
