Good Service - but way OVER PRICED Our house was backing up and we needed to have our septic tank pumped. Blue Ribbon responded quickly, removed a root clog, and pumped out our tank for about $600.00. Because our tank was 4 feet below grade, it was suggested and agreed that risers would be a good idea for future maintenance needs. I mistakenly thought for the price quoted that the installation would take a couple of workers half a day with specialized equipment. The estimate to install the risers was $1,800.00. I, the customer, had dug the holes for the pumping and cleared the installation area. When Blue Ribbon came out to install the risers, it took one man less than 2 hours, and a wheel barrel, no shovel (they didn't have to move any dirt). Even if the parts cost $200.00, and they don't, that's over $800.00 an hour. read more

We were just serviced and had a great experience. Upon first calling Blue Ribbon, I had a good conversation about the problems we were seeing and the fact that the most recent service that I could find for pumping our system was 23 years ago. I mentioned that I opened the lids and could only see solid gunk. The man on the end of the phone walked me through all options of what it could be and the costs associated so there would be no surprises if worst case scenario, they had to cycle the mass to create a more liquified form to pump into their tank. Technician was pleasant however, I feel I was upcharged with added fees that were not disclosed when I scheduled. I told them my septic was full when I scheduled but the technician came with a partially full truck so he had to leave part-way through the pumping to empty the tank and I was charged an extra $225 for "extra pumping/standby time". I was informed of a potential extra charge per gallon for my tank being overfull but no mention was made of additional charges for time. When I asked the technician about this, he was dismissive and said "well, I only charged for an extra hour". I don't feel I should be charged for the extra time when that was not disclosed prior and I certainly should not be charged for time because he had to leave to dump the truck in the middle of the job. Additionally, there were notes on my invoice that the sides of my tank had a large amount of wet wipes and feminine products. This is impossible as I am the only female in the house and have not used feminine products since before I purchased this property (and the tank was pumped before I moved in) and neither me or my teenage son use wet wipes. This is likely a standard comment they tell everyone because it likely applies to many people, but it's a blatant lie and does not apply to our household. I cannot support a dishonest business with future business nor can I recommend them. read more

I put out my job on yelp and Brandon from Blue Ribbon responded the very next day with a quote but I was waiting for several other companies to respond to my yelp work request but eventually 2 other companies replied but took their time in doing so. Blue Ribbon quote was favorable to me and were willing to work with my time line. Rick and Blue Ribbon Septic was there when we needed him most. We have a residential track home that sits below the street and needs a sump pump to allow drainage into the public sewer line. The sump pump tank area filled up with water and popped our breaker.
