The other reason is because Super Bros was super communicative and explained the whole process before it started, asked lots of questions about my preferences, and was incredibly transparent about every details and process. My primary point of contact for this job was Jeremy. He was actually another reason that I went with Super Bros, as I never felt like he was trying to upsell anything or push me into doing something I didn't want or need. He was clear about where there were options and where he has seen challenges from a project like mine in the past. His experience and demeanor were what locked it in for me. After agreeing to use Super Bros, the next week I was met by Mike, who walked through with me as he was point on the project. I work from home so I was around for the entire thing, but I can honestly say that there was barely any disruption to my workday. Yes, the water was off for one of the 3 days of work, but other than that and the expected noise of cutting out metal pipes here and there, the disruption was nearly invisible. Drain Time responded to a Yelp quote quickly and were at our house Sunday morning. There was a slight delay due to another emergency and they even offered to come on Saturday evening but we chose the following morning as the leak was slow. The inspection uncovered multiple major issues and we needed to have all our water and sewer piping replaced for our 3 bathroom house on a larger lot (our house is from the 1940s). Over the course of the project, I met between 10-15 employees and every single one was kind, professional, excellent at communication, and respectful of my time and space. They worked so efficiently and always left our house in as clean a state as possible at the end of the day. The owner Tommy was always there to explain every step of the process, talk through decisions, and keep me informed of the many moving parts. Thanks to him and his team I have a much better understanding of my own plumbing, and plumbing in general, and they managed to bring some lightness and humor! There was a smell emanating from our guest bath. Googling the cause of the smell put me in panic…read moremode. I called Draintech to inquire about a possible sewer leak. Kaelin answered the phone. (on a Sunday) I was expecting to get the answering machine. I described the problem and he calmly walked me through the possible causes. He gave me step-by-step instructions on what might be causing the smell. I wasn't confident that I could fix it myself, so I booked the scheduled visit that following Wednesday anyway. But after hanging up, I tried his instructions. And sure enough it fixed the problem. Long story short, if you have a spare bath that is unused. Not running the flush or shower can cause a ?vacuum? where the sewer smell could escape... (something like that, but don't quote me). I haven't written a review here in years, but wanted to let everyone know that Kaelin (Draintech) is a good and honest business. He could have kept our appointment and I would have happily paid for his visit. But instead gave me the instructions to fix it myself. That's amazing. We had been having sporadic problems with our sewage line. Installed post WWII, it's basically made…read moreof wood pulp and tar and close to collapse. After a couple of weeks of disasters with two visits from plumbers our home warranty sent. We decided to find our own here on Yelp. 1st Call Plumbing looked promising, so we called them. Mike is very personable and instilled confidence from the get-go. He listened carefully on the phone and asked pertinent questions, scheduling us in for a quick visit the following morning. We are short on cash and had already checked what the average cost of sewage line replacement was and the various options available. We discussed whether I could dig the trench and have them remove and replace the line. Was given a very nice quote on the understanding that I do a good job digging to their specifications. It took me all my spare time over a few days. Again, Mike was excellent. I didn't have to chase him or even ask. He called one morning and stopped by in between jobs to check my progress. He estimated when I would be done. Did a follow up visit the day before and saw I had pretty much finished. When I was done and gave him a call, he had already penciled us in for the following morning. Mike is punctual and, on all occasions, came exactly when he said he would. To install the new sewer line, he brought his work partner of 25 years Carlos. They are good buddies and between them did all the work quickly and competently. I am happy to say that our sewer line has been working flawlessly for the last 3 weeks. I have no problems recommending First Call Plumbing. Mike was fair and honest from the get-go.
