It was my first time there, and was asking for suggestion, but she was so impatient and even rolled her eyes at me. I stopped into Pablo's on 6th on a brisk Wednesday afternoon to redeem my FREE beverage for getting 6 drinks on my loyalty card. The beautiful plant filled room currently lit with festive lights was filled with warmth and that wonderful roasted coffee aroma. A quick dip into the restroom to wash my hands and I'm happy to find clean, well stocked facilities. I opted for a large double dirty almond milk chai to go. While waiting I noticed some Pablo's socks in their merchandising corner. I had to get a pair for myself (and another for a friend!) After purchasing, the friendly fella behind the counter mentioned they were sized which was SO HELPFUL as I originally grabbed two small pairs which i was informed would be suitable for a child. He checked their stock and I ended up with a medium and large pair which should be better fits. I received my beverage and although simple the presentation was nice. It smelled SO GOOD with a dusting of cinnamon on top. I took a sip and it may possibly be the best dirty chai I've ever had. I originally ordered it to go but this drink actually made me want to stop, have a seat in this awesome coffee shop and just appreciate this beverage and this moment. The server was so incredibly rude and offensive I could not stay to order my coffee. I tried to get a cup of coffee to go holding a 4 pound esa dog and baby and they told me I had to get out with the dog. She is a certified emotional support animal... But I get it if you don't want dogs in your shop I will happily leave. All you have to do is be nice about it but she was so incredibly rude I can't imagine how she would interact with other clients with high maintenance or complicated orders.I would not recommend going here based on the rudeness and demeanor of the staff read more

Pablo's, I want to love you. I really do. But would it kill you to smile? For how cute your decor is and how tasty your coffee is, I'm always left wanting a little more when it comes to service. Good things: --The Americano! Y'all make really good, strong, dark coffee. I'm into it. --The decor. So many plants! I love plants! And I like that little area with the wall paper and couches and chandelier. Super cute. --They rotate art and local goods to sell through the shop. I like supporting local artists! I do miss the smell of roasting beans in the morning, but hey Pablo's can't help the fact that they are so good they had to expand and put their roasting operation at another place. Plus now that means more seating for me and you and all the other Danger Monkey lovers out there. I'm behind that all the way. Pablo's remains my favorite coffee in the city and when I'm not drinking it at their adorable little shop, I'm drinking it at home thanks to the beans and grind they sell to go. Pablo's is situated on the corner of 6th with ample street parking. The hubby and I stopped here with our Fika coffee passport book to get a BOGO of any espresso drink. We've been here before and like the laid back, chill atmosphere. I ordered a small iced Vietnamese coffee which was strong and delicious while the hubby ordered his usual large iced vanilla latte. Pablo's isn't trying to be overly sophisticated or too outrageously crafty with their coffee drinks. They're serving a solid cup of coffee without the stuffy attitude which I so much appreciate. read more

Made a special 1/2-mile-outta-the-way trip to get an almond latte at Pablos. Why'd I do it? I remembered how blastin' their Danger Monkey coffee was from days gone by and I wanted to see if they could convert a panty-waisted almond fru-fru drink into a man's caffeine recharge, halfway through the afternoon. Yup. Yup. And Yup. Even with almond syrup adulterating the espresso shots, the bold earthy chocolate taste of the beans shined through. None of that namby-pamby coffee-esque frothy milk drink version of a latte. No sirree. This latte rocked. Aggressive, in your face, slammin' ya through the creamy first sips kinda latte. But not bitter at all. Good? You friggin' bet. Plus the barista made one of those neat designs that you then cover up with the lid, but know that it's still there while you're face forms that rest of the day electric grin. read more

What a beautiful day to enjoy an iced latte on the patio of Pablo's on sixth. This was the first time I have been to this little place and was pleasantly surprised! The staff was very friendly and quick with my order, the inside was nice and open (anything but stuffy), and the atmosphere was quaint. Much like Stella's coffee which I love, this place offered a down to earth feel where I was comfortable wherever I sat. The coffee was also delicious and strong. Local Denver coffee. No internet. Straight up coffee house. I drive [bike when it is warm] by Pablo's every morning on the way to work, since it is only 3 blocks away. They freshly roast THEIR coffee all the time, so the smells are incredible. They still honor the coffee punch card [find some other coffee shop that still does that.] Summer time or even those typical Denver winter days that get above 60, they have an outdoor seating area on a busy street. Great for people watching and catching some sun. Great coffee at the best price I've ever found in Denver for the quality. read more

They seem like really cool people (painfully hip, but not so much that I'm afraid to step inside). The annual pancake breakfast is terrific. The place is very cool. But regarding the coffee: it's not you, Pablo, it's me. Malcolm Gladwell once said that if you ask people what kind of coffee they like, they'll say they like a rich, strong cup of coffee. But he added that we feel that way because marketing has conditioned us to think that. And I think he's right. I've realized that I don't like dark, strong roasts. And Pablo's seems to be very good at dark, strong roasts. Perhaps I'm a wuss. I like smooth, medium roasts. And every time I drink Pablo's coffee I forget to ask what they are brewing. It's usually the more popular, stronger roast that's just not to my taste. read more

Pablo's was a very pleasant surprise. I didn't know that there were multiple locations but I've passed one every week for a year and regret not trying it sooner. The coffee was definitely above my expectations. My main reason for trying Pablo's was that they serve Glazed and Confuzed doughnuts on Saturday mornings. The selection was pretty unique and I picked up my friend one that she absolutely loved. Mine was nothing special. The doughnuts aren't a selling point for me. As for the coffee itself, they had a very well balanced Costa Rican light roast that was very enjoyable. I want to try their latte. Almost everyone there had ordered some variety of their latte. Hands down the best neighborhood coffee shop in Denver with equally amazing coffee they roast themselves. I recommend an iced Vietnamese or iced coffee in the summer, or any of their classic roasts in the colder months. Danger Monkey is always a crowd favorite. I haven't tried their pour overs yet, but looking forward to diving into those next time I'm in for an extended stay. My only complaint is good food options. This is my first time being thoroughly bummed out by a coffee shop. It's probably the current events messing with me, but this used to be a place that sometimes cheered me up if I needed a treat. The coffee is pretty good and the culture might be your jam - if you want to roll the dice on a mood swing of very grumpy snobbybarista one day vs very friendly barista another day. Pablo's was my pandemic isolation solace for a while, a place I could get some casual socialization, a little caffeine, cute dogs outside. The baristas are sometimes really nice, sometimes really mean (the reviews that mention eye rolling are accurate). Sometimes they're on a caricature of a power trip that makes me want to ask who hurt them. That's way too much passive aggressive drama first thing in the morning. Do they think they're the in-crowd in high school? What is going on? Is their management being awful, putting them in a bad mood? I overlooked the inconsistencies in customer service for a while, until a bunch of last straws. It's fine, I'll just get my coffee elsewhere or make it myself, I just can't help but feel a sense of grief about how rude and unkind some people are. Society is in such a weird place that a little kindness can go a long way, even if it's just a coffee transaction. read more

Holy cow! I just realized I've never written a review after coming here weekly for the past few months. ^^The above statement speaks for itself! I Love Pablo's! The employees are always great as well as the drinks and service. Most of the time when there are multiple people working they laugh and joke with each other but forget about the customers. Well...not at Pablo's! Are you in a hurry but need coffee? No problem! I always get my drink super fast. Despite the fact that the service is speedy, the drinks are delicious and delivered with a smile. I almost always forget to check in because im there for such a short period of time. I typically get a dirty Chai with almond milk or a caramel almond milk latte. Both are fantastic! The only time I don't come to Pablo's is when I need to get some work done online--they don't have WiFi. Pablo's is a great place to snuggle up on the couch with a book or to meet up with friends. Yesterday, I met a friend for some much needed coffee at Pablo's. I had never been there and was pleasantly surprised by it's quaint setting and homey feel, despite being in a part of town that I had always associated with being dangerous. I ordered a "skinny Chai" and absolutely loved it! The mugs were huge, and the prices were cheap! My yummy beverage made my chat with a friend much more enjoyable in the comfort of a cozy cafe right in the heart of Denver. This was the best coffee I've had in Denver. Seriously, it was absolutely delicious, and was made all the more tasty by the amazing atmosphere at Pablo's. My friend lives nearby and suggested this spot on a rainy day when we wanted to hang out but had nothing to actually do. This shop has plenty to keep you entertained, if staring at its beautiful and eclectic interior is not enough. They have sketch books where other coffee goers, from should-be-famous to scribblers have doodled which you can browse through, which was a really fun activity and made for great conversation. I prefer to keep reviews positive, but felt this one needed to be left for anyone like me to save you the discomfort. This shop is pretentious, and not in the Frasier Crane endearing kind of way. The music was too loud; they lack WiFi; the barista's are crass and arrogant. I wanted a place where I could sit and work for a couple hours, and this was an awful experience. We had a bit of a wait for dinner at Angelo's next door and decided to come in a for a snack and coffee. We're glad we did! We had the breakfast sandwich and the Vietnamese coffee! Both were great but we wanted to wrote this review for the stellar staff! Not only was service prompt, since we're from out of town, they took the time to give us pointers on what to do and where to go while we are in Denver! All coffee is roasted in town. After growing from a small corner coffee shop, they had to expand the roasting from in house to an offsite location. All the staff are friendly and helpful. A large selection of various roasts and blends. I have never been let down with any coffee I've chosen. I have taken recommendations on different types from the staff when I want something different. I'm partial to the medium roast varieties so I tend to stick with the Sumatra, Sulawesi, or burhindi. Though the etheopia and New Guinea are also amazing. They also carry a decent tea selection. Every once in a while you'll see the coffee cherry tea, try it if you do. read more

The crowd here is definitely the anti-Starbucks crowd: hipsters, aspiring artists, and folks with fixed gear bikes. Overall, I was happy here. Pablo's is my neighborhood coffee shop. I have been going there at least three times a week since I moved to Alamo Placita in April because I literally live two blocks away and believe in supporting local business. Every time I go in there, I am in a great mood because I'm getting my coffee and starting my day. I say "Hi" & "Good Morning," but to my dismay, am always met with a drab, low energy, almost negative vibe by the staff. Pablo's has great coffee, but the atmosphere in there is very negative. Much like today, it makes me not want to even say anything. Just keep my head down, pay for my coffee and leave. I believe that coffee shops should be a place of comfort and good energy. I do not feel that when I go in there. The staff are very unfriendly and I don't agree with that vibe, especially for a local/neighborhood coffee shop. Today I have decided that I am going to give away my three coffee cards full of stamps for free coffee and take my business to a coffee shop where they are happy to see return customers and excited to be there, because who doesn't want to have a positive effect on the way people start their day? 2 stars for great coffee ZERO stars for egotistical staff who cannot smile or engage with customers. The coffee at Pablo's is amazing. But over & over again the staff makes you feel like something is wrong. I always smile and try to make a joke. I thought people who work understood that making the customer feel good is a great way to get tips. Also it should be part of their job to be "FRIENDLY" not here! Not ever. I have been coming to this coffee shop for years and these attitudes of their staff get worse & worse! Wonder if it says on job application ..... if you don't smile and don't like people you CAN WORK HERE.
