Mi amigo Pablo has expanded to two burriterias. Location numero dos is spacious and bright, with seats for a few dozen at two long tables and a curving high counter after you've squeezed in through the muy pequeno front door. The music is wonderful. Surfer riffs intersperse with south-of-the-border beats like limes with tequila. I like the mural on the far wall, documenting la historia de Pablo through Mexico and the southwestern US. Sadly, they have misspelled "Tuscon," Arizona... For the first time, I got a bean and cheese burrito. It had more texture than I expected, with whole black beans rather than just refries, plus rice. Sadly, it was also cooler than I expected: not toasted long enough! I didn't find any melty cheese adorning my bites and I would have loved that. They put in lettuce for crunch, which was a very nice touch, and the salsa of my choice. Pablo II has created a salsa menu with five spicinesses, including characterizations of the peppers. High-cinco for that. I approve. I predict grande success for Pablo in his new place, which is muy central but also off the drunken path just a bit. As he's honest-to-goodness right across the street from my doctor, I see myself racking up many prescriptions for tastiness! PLUS they now have a student special called El Cinco. This means simply that you show your student card and get a burrito for a fiver. Add-ins (salsa, guac etc) are still extra.

Now there's a nice moto, burritos for everyone (:

First stop for Yelp's Burrito Blow Out and it really is an auspicious start. It's a very casual and colourful place, just like you'd expect from a burrito bar. I love the moto they have outside, it's quite democratic: "Burritos para todos!". So don't expect too much snobbery from these guys (: And that's exactly what they deliver: nice staff, a well explained and diverse menu and big portions. I tried two of their burritos and they were both consistently good. What I really liked about them was that the isolated ingredients all were flavoursome, not just a bunch of mushy stuff thrown together with a salsa. It was quite dense too, and it held perfectly together until the very end (oh yes, I give it full five stars on the "Stay togetherness" point). The sauces are good - I only tried the Picante and Salsa Verde; I like hot sauces and these really suited my taste as they're hot enough to make you have a sip at your drink every other bite but not terribly overpowering. Final scores: Restaurant - 4 (4,2) Burrito - 4 (4,3) The tortas and some more guacamole are next on my list!

Oh yum! Burrito in a bowl was just what I needed after a few drinks. You can pick between 6 different salsa's and I went for the medium spiced salsa verde which was pretty darn spicy, just the way I like it. An enjoyable quick dinner for only 6 €...well impressed.

I like this place a lot. It's quick, very filling, atmospheric and best value for money in city centre. I haven't tried Bojum but this is the best burrito in town..I've been coming here for 5yrs i reckon! Beers are cheap too! Also Clarendon is ideally situated in town.

Awesome spot. Staff very accommodating to changes on the menu. Cold beers and authentic food. You feel like your are in Southern California.

I finally got to try Pablo Picante again after the original kick off for the Blow Out event. The service was very friendly and attentive. From what I could see that wasn't just due to my passport ;-) The staff seemed to be mainly spanish / portuguese speaking which to me added to the Mexican atmosphere. Interiour is simple as you would expect it. Just the music took away a few points for me - quite a change in style from title to title. I went for the "El Classico" burrito and almost stuggled to finish it as it was quite big and rich with fillings - but delicious. As I don't like it too spicy I went for the "medio" Salsa which was lovely. Nonetheless I tried one of the sauces on the table. The green one and it almost blew me away ;-) I was glad to have my water. Overall a very pleasant dinner and Pablo Picante are on my list to visit more often.

Im lately a fan of burritos it seems and the pulled pork burrito i had here today was nice, filling and spicy good. The staff seemed genuinely to enjoy working there and had a smile for each customer that came their way. I was served by a nice girl that was patient as i pondered over how spicy i would like my salsa; mild, with jalapenos or really kick ass chilli. I chose the mild spicy and that was enough! The tables are trendy but not too comfortable as the actual table was too far away from the bench and meant i have to sit on the edge of the bench which is not good for my temperamental back. But this is only a mild moan as i suppose the place is meant to be a quick stop rather than a sit down 3 course meal.

I liked it a lot... But.. didn't do enough to take over number one spot in Dublin (in my opinion). Now this could be of course my own fault as my taste buds have been ruined by other Mexican food establishments that have lambasted me with greasy and sautéed burritos. Pablo does have the most authentic feel of all the Mexican Restaurants I have been to in Dublin. You don't feel like you need an emergency surgery after one of their great options. It is easy for both take away or sit down and their pricing is very much in line with what you'd expect. I've been twice for lunch and there is a small line that moves fast. The staff are helpful and the menu has plenty of options.

My hangover go to place. While everyone around me talks about how big their fry is going to be, all that's in my head is ...what time does Pablos open again on a Sunday? As a relative newbie to the world of burritos ( I used to think they were just posh kebabs) I now can't imagine life without them. Also as someone with no imagination, Pablos menus do it for me as they already have a pre set list of burritos ideas you can order. None of this... choose your individual ingredients lark from our list of 100 items and hold up our queues. While a Victorio Verde (veggie burrito) might not be everyones taste for breakfast I would highly recommend it. In fact I might just get drunk again so I can have one again in the morning.

Even the font on the menu looks the same. Now, given that Chipotle isn't available in Dublin and good Mexican food is tough to come by (save Cafe Azteca), that's not at all a bad thing. This place is open late (11pm weekdays; midnight Fri-Sat), reasonably priced, and oh-so delicious! Order at the counter: pick the style, meat, and extras you want. It will be prepared right in front of you and then off you go with a little bundle of deliciousness. I had brown rice, black beans, and barbacoa and thoroughly enjoyed myself. The service is great and friendly as well...really nice feel here. They had a 2-for-1 promotion running and allowed me to partake even though I hadn't printed out the voucher (environmentalism for the win!). To top it off, they have Cholula hot sauce available (where oh where can you find this in Dublin?). And if your appetite for American knockoffs is still running strong, grab dessert at Eddie Rocket's across the street -- we did!

So, I decided to give it a shot on Friday as I wanted something a little different. I'm allergic to hot sauce so I went for a medium heat veggie burrito and it was good! Quite big portion. The staff aren't the smiley, happy people I would expect working at a restaurant like this but I'm gonna say that they were maybe having a bad day? Maybe it was the weather? Who knows. There's not much customer seating available so I had to take mine to go. Probably best, though, it's a messy aul thing to chow down on and sitting beside some randoms while I try to graciously gobble this down wouldn't have been my idea of fun! When I finally got around to eating it, I was very happy with it. It was huge, very tasty and filling. If the staff were a little more friendly and there was more seating, this experience could have gotten a 5*!

They don't have any maize flour tortilla, so, a bit disappointed, I took the burrito box. It felt at first like a punition to me, since the last one I had at pablo picante was disgusting and I really did not wanted to live that again. But I decided to give it a try, maybe this one would be better ? I took one with marinated chicken, cilantro and lime rice, kidney beans, and avocado ("verde") sauce, when it came, the box was looking a bit small and they were a thick green sauce covering all of it. But as soon as I tried I was very pleased by its taste. The green sauce was really good and not sickly at all. The meat was great and actually it was very very good. An awesome surprise, it really reconciled me with burritos ! If I had only one critical to do, it would be that I would have add a bit of cilantro and lime to my rice. Besides that, the staff was nice, the place is really cool and the music is good too.

I love their take on burritos, the roasted sweet potato is such a nice addition and sets it apart from a lot of other burrito places. Their Guacamole is amazing, super fresh with chunks of avocado and lots of flavor. Their nachos are also nice, lots of melted Jack cheese and toppings. Ordering on Deliveroo is a bit annoying, though. Wish there were a break down of ingredients so you could easily choose what you want and don't want, instead you have to pick from a very long list of various combinations. I think they could organize the menu on the site a bit better, and Deliveroo should have an option to include notes for the restaurant. We always have to call after we order to specify some changes, but they are always very quick to answer and happy to do it, and the order always arrives perfect!
