    Chicken quesadillas and mango jarritos
    Chan F.

Found this small eatery around the corner from the National museum of archeology. It started to rain, and seemed like a perfect time for me to take a break from touring Dublin and have a quesadilla. The food looked fresh, and the staff were friendly. The line was quite long for such a small space. You can order to stay or to go. There is a lot more seating downstairs, and on a nice day (which was not the day I went) there is seating outside. I wasn't a fan of the cheese in my quesadilla, but the chicken and salsa were good. Prices are pretty fare, the quesadilla and soda totaling at €7.50. Great fro a quick bite, avoid lunch hour when student and faculty are sure to join the line.

    Lots of fans!

I think it's about time and only fair to update my review on Mama's Revenge. My previous review was based on the one on Thomas St which is now closed. This is based on Leinster St, and wow, what a change! It's a cosy little spot, on a busy thoroughfare, and they seem to have a constant steady stream of customers through the door, who are dealt with with humour, candor and swift service. There are lots of little elements that make it a nice spot to hang around, like the 'graffiti wall' that regulars use to proclaim their love of Mama's Revenge, and the downstairs seating area, done up in warm colours in a Mexican looking theme. As for the burrito itself, it was divine. It was put in the oven before serving which ensured the tortilla was nice and warm. I sampled both the chorizo and steak before settling on the steak - how could I not, it was seasoned and marinaded so well, and seriously flavoursome. I got lots of guac, all nicely roughly chopped which is how I like it. They also do sweet potato which I have only seen, besides this, in Little Ass Burrito. Here, it's mashed and smeared on your vege burrito. I didn't get to try it, but it will be on my list for next time. So, on the Burrito Blowout Scale: Restaurant 4 Atmosphere 4 Service 4 Menu variety 4 Value 5 Location 5 Burrito 4 Tortilla 4 Meat 4 Sauce 3 Spice factor 3 Stay togetherness 3 Presentation 4 Portion Size 5 Dispersion of ingredients 3 Besides the burritos, I really like the fact that they do quesadillas, nachos and chile con carne. I will definitely be back.

Got a quesadilla, as I'm not hugely fond of burritos with rice in them... Quesadilla was nice with chilli con carne and cheese inside, recommend getting a side of guacamole with it to tame down the spice! This is a great student joint or those on a budget. There is extra seating downstairs. Gave it a 4 instead of 5 stars, because I don't like eating with plastic cutlery and the girl gave everyone else a napkin except me..lol it's the little things!!!

I passed by Mama's Revenge already a couple of times but it needed the burrito blow out for me to go there. It is a bigger shop than it seems, even though I'm glad we found space upstairs - on street level as the downstairs is almost claustrophobic to me. The burrito was rather boring to me - and this time I don't think I can blame my choice for that. Once the burrito is put together they heat it up. A nice touch especially when you have cheese in it. But it took quite some time and in the end they had problems to read who's name was on them so that definitely took away from the experience for me. I'd say it's a nice enough place for students especially with their special students prices but I don't think it will become my favourite burrito place - for that I had too many nice burritos elsewhere by now.

Classic burrito meal deal for €6

I was here last Tuesday as part of yelp's Burrito Blowout. The upstairs seating is tiny- would seat 6 people uncomfortably. Downstairs is much bigger but quite dark and there was a smell of damp. You certainly would not be coming here for the surroundings. I got the classic burrito and a soft drink for €6. The service was slow. Our burritos were made quick enough but then they were put in a heater and it took the guy at the till what seemed like an age to take our money. They were obviously flustered from the crowd of students downstairs who were taking part in a burrito eating contest. Down to the burrito- I got chicken, sour cream, medium heat salsa, pico de gallo, brown rice and pinto beans. I wasn't overly impressed with how all the ingredients were cold to begin with and then when the burrito was made it was heated. I would've liked if the tortilla was heated and the meat, beans and rice were all hot to begin with. Subsequently my burrito was warm at best with many cold parts. That is one of my pet hates, I really feel food should be hot or cold, not warm and not a combination of the two. The one redeeming factor of this burrito was the fact that the flavour was really there. I think it was the pico de gallo that was the main source of flavour and it was actually extremely tasty. If possible I'd give them 2 &1/2 stars as I feel I'm being generous with 3 stars and if it weren't for the tastiness of the ingredients this place would definitely be getting 2 stars. Also just on a side note- they made a point out of guacamole costing an extra 70c. One of our group asked for guacamole, was told by the girl it was extra and said that was ok.. The girl then proceeded to put on the meanest amount of guacamole I've ever seen. It was literally less than a teaspoon. This isn't saffron we're talking about. It's not worth more than its weight in gold. The main ingredient is avocado. You'll get a pack of 2 for less than a euro in aldi/lidl!!! If someone is paying the 70c for guacamole then they should be given a generous amount. It's not gonna break the bank. If I'm honest this really put me off the place. I feel like there are far too many burrito places in Dublin to come back here for a return visit.

As good as it gets in the (veggie) burrito market! Sweet potato mash and aubergine provide the substance. Long queue but moves as fast as any other burrito place. The spicy option is actually a bit spicy! But like most burrito places in Ireland it is not too spicy :) Generous with the guacamole too ;)

I had one major setback as soon as I got there. They don't accept cards so I had to rush out again to find an ATM. Boooh. Ten minutes later and I'm back, starving. Anyway, onto the burrito business. I ordered their classic burrito, which they say comes with "added fun" such as jalapeños and lettuce. I don't know about the lettuce, but jalapeños are certainly... amusing. Beef, pico de gallo, brown rice and black beans went into the MASSIVE burrito along with some unrequested sour cream and cheese. The sauce was hot, just like it should be. The flavours in my burrito were just right, I loved it. I think this was the first place where the rice actually tasted as rice is supposed to taste when cooked right. That being said, I then tasted a bit of my bfs burrito with chorizo and pinto beans and was somewhat disappointed, the chorizo meat and the sauce it comes in is too fatty and unsavoury. So the choice of ingredients may be a bit hit and miss. To add insult to injury, his burrito was cold, even after going into the small oven where they put all the burritos after rolling them. The ingredients should be hot from being cooked, heating the burrito afterwards won't yield the same results. They only have two (mexican) beers on offer, Modelo and Corona, which isn't very cool.

Decent, clean, and fast. Food wasn't bad but maybe a bit under-seasoned. Overall a good stop for a fast, cheap bite.

Even the font on the menu looks the same. Now, given that Chipotle isn't available in Dublin and good Mexican food is tough to come by (save Cafe Azteca), that's not at all a bad thing. This place is open late (11pm weekdays; midnight Fri-Sat), reasonably priced, and oh-so delicious! Order at the counter: pick the style, meat, and extras you want. It will be prepared right in front of you and then off you go with a little bundle of deliciousness. I had brown rice, black beans, and barbacoa and thoroughly enjoyed myself. The service is great and friendly as well...really nice feel here. They had a 2-for-1 promotion running and allowed me to partake even though I hadn't printed out the voucher (environmentalism for the win!). To top it off, they have Cholula hot sauce available (where oh where can you find this in Dublin?). And if your appetite for American knockoffs is still running strong, grab dessert at Eddie Rocket's across the street -- we did!

So, I decided to give it a shot on Friday as I wanted something a little different. I'm allergic to hot sauce so I went for a medium heat veggie burrito and it was good! Quite big portion. The staff aren't the smiley, happy people I would expect working at a restaurant like this but I'm gonna say that they were maybe having a bad day? Maybe it was the weather? Who knows. There's not much customer seating available so I had to take mine to go. Probably best, though, it's a messy aul thing to chow down on and sitting beside some randoms while I try to graciously gobble this down wouldn't have been my idea of fun! When I finally got around to eating it, I was very happy with it. It was huge, very tasty and filling. If the staff were a little more friendly and there was more seating, this experience could have gotten a 5*!

They don't have any maize flour tortilla, so, a bit disappointed, I took the burrito box. It felt at first like a punition to me, since the last one I had at pablo picante was disgusting and I really did not wanted to live that again. But I decided to give it a try, maybe this one would be better ? I took one with marinated chicken, cilantro and lime rice, kidney beans, and avocado ("verde") sauce, when it came, the box was looking a bit small and they were a thick green sauce covering all of it. But as soon as I tried I was very pleased by its taste. The green sauce was really good and not sickly at all. The meat was great and actually it was very very good. An awesome surprise, it really reconciled me with burritos ! If I had only one critical to do, it would be that I would have add a bit of cilantro and lime to my rice. Besides that, the staff was nice, the place is really cool and the music is good too.

Their Guacamole is amazing, super fresh with chunks of avocado and lots of flavor. Their nachos are also nice, lots of melted Jack cheese and toppings. Ordering on Deliveroo is a bit annoying, though. Wish there were a break down of ingredients so you could easily choose what you want and don't want, instead you have to pick from a very long list of various combinations. I think they could organize the menu on the site a bit better, and Deliveroo should have an option to include notes for the restaurant. We always have to call after we order to specify some changes, but they are always very quick to answer and happy to do it, and the order always arrives perfect!
