I love P Terrys, but this specific location is always a let down. They are very slow at taking your order and at preparing it. A few weeks ago, I came in around 10pm and I was one of 3 people in the entire restaurant. I had to wait about 5 minutes to order my one cheeseburger because nobody would come up to the register, and then had to wait about 10 more minutes for it to come out. I decided to give this location another try, and while the food was prepared faster, I wasn't given either of the drinks I had ordered. Growing up in austin, the worst part about going away from college is missing out on this delicious staple.

I am a newcomer to the state of Texas and I had never heard of P. Terry's before. But when I saw the fantastic design of the P. Terry's logo, I immediately knew I needed to go. As I entered the parking lot, the sweet smell of delicious cheeseburgers wafted through my windows and filled my nose with pleasure. As Aristotle would say, such a place might turn a man into a "bellygod" due to it's tempting aroma. When I entered the extraordinary burger establishment, I was greeted with a sea of warm welcoming smiles from the employees. "This is where I am meant t be", I thought. I ordered a PT specialty double cheeseburger and a mint Oreo shake. My friends and I come here every weekend lol. We come for breakfast and it's literally so cheap. I'm still wondering if there's a typo on their menu. The egg burger and breakfast potatoes are our go-to orders. If you come here for lunch or dinner it is still a move. A great veggie burger and a great chicken burger. There aren't many places you can go these days and get a solid meal for less than 10 dollars, but this is one of them. Excellent value for what you pay. read more

The service might take a little while because they are made to order but everything tastes so fresh. The only downside is the last time I went here, they messed up our order and didn't give us the types of burgers we asked for. Double check your order before you leave! I'm always torn when it comes to reviewing P. Terry's. On one hand, their food is extra affordable, their architecture is stunning, their interior spanking clean and inviting, their staff polite and helpful, and their milkshakes, fries and breakfast potatoes are all very yummy. On the other hand, their veggie burger is extremely average and mildly disappointing, sometimes served on a cold bun. Look, as a designer, I love what P. Terry's stands for; their branding is amazing, consistent and fun, and their interior/exterior architecture is thought-out, original and brilliant. I also love that they display proudly and openly the origin of their ingredients, and I love the fact that they're local. But all this cannot make up for the super disappointing veggie burger. Oh, Mr Terry, I had so much hope for that burger! Granted, for a few dollars, I didn't truly expect anything that would transform my soul forever and take me to heaven on the back of a pegasus, but I was hoping for something warm, comforting and, just good. PTerry's.....where have you been all my life? I've been to Austin a few times with my fiance and I can't believe I didn't want to try it until this last weekend. This burger is life changing!- I would seriously move to Austin for this burger joint. I ordered the number 2 with special sauce (and boy is it special), onions, pickles, fries and a sprite. The burger is just the perfect size, I ate every bite. What I love about this burger- aside from the juicy-ness of the meat is they put pickles, onions, and sauce on the bottom. Which for some reason is opposite of the norm- but it works! AND The onions don't seemed to be sauted, but they don't taste bitter at all. Then their's the special sauce, oh my god -it tastes like a lighter version of In&Out's sauce which I love. It doesn't leave you feeling full- just fresh. The fries are just as amazing, they are crispy and soft- they do not get stale after 5minutes like some other burger places I know. The only thing I would slightly change is the bun - a bit too dry, but you can barely notice because of the sauce. If they got a slightly more moist bun this burger would be perfect. They need to bring PTerry's to DFW!! I will definately be back for more every time I go to Austin. read more

Love Inn-N-Out - when I heard this was kind of like Austin's version, I knew we had to try it before we flew back home. The decor was really nice, super clean and the staff was super friendly. We ordered: chicken burger meal (one on bun & the other with lettuce wrap), cheeseburger on bun. The chicken burger was good but not the best. I liked how fresh and juicy the lettuce leaf was. The cheeseburger on bun was mediocre. I think Inn-N-Out's cheeseburger tasted better. I do not agree with some yelp reviews that state that they are the best burger in town. I am sure they have eaten other better burgers around town, as this is still considered a fast food burger. The French fries, however, were 1000% better than Inn-N-Out's. Every time I've placed an order thought their app, I've waited 20+ minutes for them to bring it out, only to have to call the store or flag someone down for them to even begin to make the order. These burgers are in demand due to their price point. There's always some kind of line around the building, but not for long. Service is fast. This burger was TOO SKINNY for me. Passable and not offensive. When the word burger comes to mind some common associations are INDULGENCE, JUICY, and sometimes guilt. I had no feelings of guilt when biting into this DRY and super sad and skinny burger. Took one bite and rejected this after running the Austin Marathon. For a fast food burger under $5 P Terry's is as good as any. The ingredients taste fresh, the fries are made from real potatoes, and they have great milkshakes. I would rate them very similar to In n' Out. By this I mean 1 step above Whataburger and Carl's Jr, and miles ahead of McDonalds, Burger King, or Sonic. This particular location is brand new. I have never eaten inside so I can't speak for the experience in that regard. The seem to get the food out relatively fast which is always a plus. It serves its purpose and does the job when you need a quick bite and want something a tad fresher and healthier than your average national chain burger place. read more

I really liked this P Terrys! I got the double cheeseburger and fries. We were there during prime lunch time and while the restaurant was almost full, we were able to order and get our food quickly. There is a double lane drive thru at this location with an attendant to get the cars through quickly, for those that dont want to come inside. We found the last open four top and dug into our food. The burger was really great. The double patty was hearty but not overly large. It was a good size burger. The cheese was perfectly melted and it had a nice flavor. Really good juiciness and the bun tasted fresh. The fries are a bit limp, but they are fresh cut and I didnt mind the limpness because they tasted really good. I wanted to try the shake because I've heard they're really good, but I was too full. Gonna save that for next time, cause I will be back. read more

If you're in Austin, why would you go to any other drive-thru burger place? Truly. It's fast, cheap, clean, and yummy with polite and friendly staff who are always patient even with the line is super long. You can't go wrong with a cheeseburger, fries, and an extra ramekin of special sauce on the side for extra dipping. The lemonade and milkshakes are delicious. My only gripe, if this counts?
