First time at PS Kitchen, and I'm glad I gave it a try despite reading some mixed reviews about the food and service. I came on a weeknight with a reservation, was seated right away, and sat at the bar before a Broadway show. The bartender/server was very nice, attentive, and helpful when I asked for recommendations. I ordered the carrot bisque, scallop paella, and a lavender martini. The food was flavorful, and it was my first time trying hearts of palm. I'm not vegan and eat seafood, so I wasn't expecting the "scallops" to taste like actual seafood. They were made to look like scallops, which was a fun touch, but the texture was different. Overall, the paella was enjoyable and made for a unique dining experience. The lavender martini was interesting, but not for me. It had a floral, citrusy flavor that reminded me a little of perfume or floral soap. It wasn't unbearable. It was just not my personal preference. Service was efficient. Definitely on the pricey side and feels more like a treat, but life is too short to worry too much especially for a nice meal before a Broadway show. I'll definitely come back next time I'm in the area.
My friend and I made reservations at P.S. Kitchen at 1:30 on a Sunday before seeing The Great Gatsby. They have a homey space, which is bigger than it seems, since there is an upstairs! Since we were there for brunch, I decided to try the P.S. Breakfast ($22) which is tofu scramble, spinach, portobello mushrooms, and corn muffins. My friend got the P.S. Burger ($20) with a gluten-free bun ($2). For the breakfast, the portobello mushrooms were the highlight of the dish. They were very juicy and had strong umami flavor! I love spinach even plain, but I think it could have used a touch more seasoning. The tofu scramble was seasoned, but it could either use more seasoning or more moisture. The corn muffins were dry and crumbly, definitely the worst part of the dish. My friend said that the sauce brought the burger together and hid the fact that it's a Beyond burger. She also mentioned that she didn't feel heavy after eating the burger, which was nice. Despite us telling the restaurant that we had to go to a musical, service was on the slower side. My friend also had to try several times to get to the bathroom, since someone was always inside. However, the staff was friendly and made us feel welcome. I would only recommend P.S. Kitchen if you have a dietary restriction and want a restaurant that has a relaxed ambiance before your Broadway show.
This is HEAVEN....omg how do I explain the experience, we ordered 4 items - cream and celery soup, spinach artichoke dip for appetizers...umm delicious and chicken pot pie and scallop paella for enterees and both are the BEST I ever had....absolutely loving this vegan heaven right in the heart of NYC, definitely give it a try. Okay so here is an update : we were in area for only 4 nights and after trying it once for our dinner we kept going back, we were there for 3 times total and tried all the things we wanted to - tried Broadway burrito, linguini Fini Alfredo, vegetable barley soup. For sweets we had vanilla bean pan a cotta and blueberry lemon shortcake and. a cappucino - can you tell we were obsessed with this place???? Everything we ate we licked our plates - so DAMN DELICIOUS.
Our server was spectacular. She knew the menu by heart. She had a sharp memory; she didn't even write down our orders. It was a relaxing atmosphere. The food was delicious. I tried this vegan restaurant with a friend for dinner. The interior was super adorable, clean, and modern, featuring exposed brick on the wall, cool lights over the bar, pink lighting, and plenty of space for seating. There was a cozy atmosphere to the place. We decided to share the Steak Marsala, Chicken Pot Pie, and Truffle Fries. The Steak Marsala truly resembled steak, and my friend actually thought it was real steak meat. I could definitely discern the difference though. It was tender, well seasoned, covered in a savory, tasty mushroomy Marsala sauce, with plenty of mashed potatoes topped with mushroom and garlic spinach on the side. Truffle Fries were perfectly crispy with strong truffle flavor, dusted with herby spices. The Chicken Pot Pie looked pretty good with spices and rosemary on top. The crust was satisfyingly crisp, flaky, buttery, while the inside was a mixture of chicken substitute, peas, carrots. However, the filling wasn't thick enough for me, and I think the addition of potatoes would have made it much better. Service was lovely. Our waiter was welcoming and knowledgeable about the offerings. Prices were decent for the area. Menu was creative, especially given that it is all plant based. We enjoyed our time here! I probably won't be back for a while, as I like meat too much, but a solid choice for vegans and vegetarians!
This is a gem of a restaurant! From our host Hans to our waiter, David, everything was perfect! We were seated upstairs. The music was a little loud for me, so it was hard to hear and to talk. But I still loved it.. David the waiter was so nice near the menu. He's a great server.!! and incredibly patient. Hans the host was really friendly, warm and engaging. We didn't have a reservation and he didn't mind. The bathrooms were clean. The presentation of the food was beautiful, and it was absolutely delicious every single dish.!! I had two Modelo beers, we had an order of vegan crabcakes with tartar sauce. Chicken wings, which were so good with a few few different types of sauces. Vegan steak came with rice and spinach, which is absolutely delicious. a vegan chicken pot pie. I personally think it should be a little bit thicker and not so soupy, but it was really really good. we had fries with black beans and Vegan cheese. espresso and for dessert, vegan tiramisu and a blueberry dessert. It was really good little sweet for me but very good all the same.. I highly recommend this restaurant and I will definitely be back!

Since it was during the day and I was heading to a big exam, I opted for the mocktail (can't recall), Thai chicken sandwich and the Colombian potato soup. Delicious! Highly recommend and I will definitely be back!
The ambiance is inviting, relaxing, and romantic. Very chic. The staff were cheerful, approachable, and welcoming. This was my second time coming to this restaurant and my partners first time. I ordered the same dish, lol, the chick'n pot pie. If you ever ate meat and had one, you know how good it taste. Well, I missed the flavors so much and this restaurant knew exactly how to make it even better. That crispy, flaky crust on top was divine. My partner had the lasagna. I definitely took several bites. We even had dessert but devoured it in 2 seconds flat and forgot the photo op. Guess we'll have to return. Highly recommend it, especially if your in the city and want a little quiet tiny escape. Ps drinks are strong and tasty.
First time stopping by while being vegan/vegetarian for nearly 10 years. This place is a must try if you are vegetarian/vegan, in my opinion. The options are unique and fun compared to the options you may have elsewhere. I ordered the steak and the chicken pot pie. The pot pie was very good but definitely had a "gardein" taste to it, which I didn't mind since I enjoy their products. The steak was very rich and had a similar flavor profile to actual steak from what I can remember but the texture was not close. Regardless, the mashed potatoes and spinach on the side were so good and savory. The server was very attentive and the restaurant itself was well kept. I would for sure stop by again if I was to return to the area in the future. I've heard/seen good things about the wings!
What a find! Creative menu- dinner and cocktails were tasty. Beet salad was a bit decadent with the creamy cheese... and I added avocado. Friendly service- highly recommend!

This spot is very lowkey considering the prime location in Times Square. It wasn't crowded for a friday night and the food was very good. It tasted like the thing it was supposed to emulate. I highly recommend the "crab cakes", it honestly could fool any meat eater.
I didn't realize I had already bookmarked P.S. Kitchen as a vegan spot to try in New York City, but since I was staying near Times Square, I stopped in for a quick meal after a long morning. I arrived at an off-hour, between 2:00 and 3:00 p.m., so it was fairly empty. The space was immaculate, with clean, crisp colors and plenty of open seating. I ordered the Buffalo maitake sandwich to go. It came with breaded maitake mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and house blue cheese dressing on a pretzel bun. It was neatly wrapped in aluminum foil and traveled well back to my hotel. There was plenty of sauce to complement the Buffalo-style mushrooms, and while the breading had a nice texture, I would have preferred it a little crispier. Overall, it was a tasty and filling sandwich. I expected the pretzel bun to be larger, but the smaller size worked well. I enjoyed the meal and would definitely return to dine-in on a future trip to NYC! read more

*UPDATE* I was back in town for G-Ma duty & made sure I returned to try something new. In which I did, the Gabby cakes are out of this world. It was the perfect holding spot until I went next-door for a Broadway show. Additional insight: P.S. Kitchen is driven by a distinct social mission, the restaurant donates 100% of its profits to charity. & offers second-chance employment to marginalized individuals. I was not paying attention that this amazing fine-dining Vegan restaurant is a two-story dining space. Yet still balances polished Manhattan style with cozy & welcoming charm. read more

Visited this restaurant after 8 years. I also ordered some food over uber eats from this place - I have to say - I was genuinely impressed, amazing flavors! Last week I tried - the Cesar wrap, mitake wings, BBQ burger, tiramisu and chocolate truffle cake. Everything was just so amazing! I realized how much I missed this place and New York :( read more

Accidentally stumbled into a vegan restaurant and thought WTH we will try it. WOW was I impressed, the service was amazing and attentive, of course being a manhattan restaurant the interior was small at the bar area but there was plenty of seating towards the back. The loaded fries were delicious and I would have never thought that they were vegan. Overall totally worth the visit and I would definitely stop for another visit read more
I know some people are not all that keen on giving plant base/vegetarian food a try. If you are open to the idea of your meal, just being vegetable and our plant base I would definitely recommend this place. Our food was delicious. My salad was humongous and extremely filling. I actually finished the rest of it the next day for breakfast. The drink I got was the smoked pear. It was one of the best drinks I have had in a long time the bourbon literally smacked you in the face perfect! I would recommend this place to both who eat meat and who do not. read more

Okay. This was the first restaurant that I ate at. After a long day of walking around we worked up an appetite. My friend said he came here and enjoyed his meal. So we came in. I was not impressed with the layout or their tall tables. I felt like you could not sit comfortably with your meal. Mind you we were a party of three. I ordered the ps burger. The burger looked good. The patty was delicious. The bun fell apart quickly. I also felt like the sauce overwhelmed the burger which made it soggy. The fries were cold and tasted overcooked. I felt for what I paid it was not worth it. To me the whole experience feel short of what I expected. The staff was nice but the experience itself was underwhelming and disappointing. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. Judge for yourself. This is a hard pass for me. read more

My girlfriend and I were in the mood for vegan food! She mentioned about this place on how good it is! She brought me here so I can try it! The place looked really cozy and inviting! They sat us on the second floor by a window which I appreciated it! To start we each ordered drinks! We then ordered chicken pot pie and the lasagna! They both tasted really good! We also had dessert which was amazing! Definitely would come back to try other items! read more
Lovely atmosphere; there's enough light, the music is at a good volume, and the tables are nicely placed so the space feels roomier than it is. The food is phenomenal! Some of the best vegan food I've had. The chicken pot pie was hearty and filling, a perfect comfort meal. The peach cobbler was mouth watering, not too rich, the perfect sweet treat to end the meal. My friend had the Chicken Caesar which she really enjoyed, but was quite garlicky, so beware if you're on a date. The service was excellent. Everyone was friendly and helpful with the menu, the food came out quickly (perfect for a pre theater dinner) and water was refilled constantly without having to ask. A perfect dining experience. In addition, their profits go to charity so it's also a dining experience you can feel good about!! read more
I went to PS kitchen for the first time today. It's been on my radar for a long time now but I finally got around to going for lunch. I went with my husband who hasn't experimented much with vegan food (this was his first time having beyond meat). We arrived early for our reservation and they seated us right away. The restaurant is pretty unimpressive inside, very simple, not much decor. The service was fast and attentive. My husband order the PS classic burger and I ordered the sweet Thai chicken sandwich on a lettuce wrap. I thought it was cool that they offered the lettuce wrap option. Unfortunately, it wasn't as much of a wrap as a few pieces of bib lettuce held together with toothpicks lol. However, the chicken made up for it. It was the best mock vegan chicken I've had by far. I even asked the waiter the brand they use and I'm going to buy it. A word of caution though- the sweet chili they use is not mild. It was very spicy and it was hard to get through as someone who doesn't tolerate spice. My husband also enjoyed his burger. Next time, I'd really like to try their crabby cakes and the maitake wings. Those were calling my name. I did think the menu was quite overpriced. It was $9 for just a tea and the desserts were around $12. For being a semi casual place, it was a little on the high side, but I'd still come back. read more
A nice sit down vegan restaurant. Great mocktail offerings - butterfly lemonade tasty. The maitake mushroom wings appetizer is good. You choose your sauce - I went with bbq - and it comes with a side of potato salad. It's good but the sauce was super super heavy on it and it was a very sweet bbq. If I did it again I'd have the wings plain with the sauce on the side. I also have the crabby cakes. Similar - good dish but sitting in the tartar sauce and a heap of sauce on top. I love P.S. Kitchen. I have been coming here for years. It's the best spot for vegans and non vegans alike if you're going to a Broadway show nearby or just having dinner/lunch to catch up with friends. The restaurant is cozy and has two floors plus outdoor dining space when the weather allows. The food is always amazing and the servers are really attentive and kind. My go to's are the maitake wings (buffalo) and the chili cheese fries for appetizers. The portions are HEFTY. If you are getting the chili cheese fries it is a whole bowl loaded with mock meat, cheese, beans and other delicious add ins. For mains I love the pot pie and the Caesar wrap (I have a lot of pictures of those lol). I've had family try the burger and the steak and also love it. Recently they made a change to the steak Marsala, instead of seitan it is a vegan beef / steak alternative similar (if not exactly) to chunk foods steak. Definitely recommend! read more

Had a work lunch here. I'm not vegan or vegetarian so this isn't exactly my vibe but the food was decent. I had the chicken caesar wrap and it was good. We also tried the crab cakes which had WAY too much dill, and the brussel sprouts which were fine. Service could've been better. We had to wait 20 minutes to be given menus. I literally forgot you need to make a reservation for this place. It's about 12:00 and this place is already packed. Valentine's Day we walk in with no reservation, but the concierge kindly says there's a table available but there's a reservation for 1:00 if we are willing and we can finish within the hour. No problem, once service it quick (it is) we are fast eaters due to our jobs (we always have to be on the run) Lucky for us the people who made the reservations did not show up by the time we finished. PS Kitchen does not disappoint, the food here is delicious. Just what you will expect for a vegan place - Nice and clean, quick service and respectful waiters. Hubby had linguine alfredo and with a side of brussel sprouts. I had the pot pie. Clean plates no regrets! read more

Where to start? We were looking for a highly rated fully vegan restaurant and Yelp steered us to PS kitchen. The reviews and photos steered us correctly because they did not disappoint! We got that perfect timing before the dinner rush. Service was very friendly and quick. They have plenty of tables downstairs and upstairs. Have a variety of fully vegan options for dinner and dessert. It was very difficult to decide what to get, but I'm happy with the food we ordered we started with the vegan buffalo wings 10 out of 10. Highly recommended . I ordered the lasagna and I'm so glad I did probably the best lasagna I've ever had. We were so impressed that we decided to also get dessert. That was difficult as well, but thankfully, we got the tiramisu and again they did not disappoint. It's hard to find tiramisu and lasagna fully vegan and it's probably even harder to find them when they taste so good. PS kitchen did a wonderful job and I would love to come back. read more

PS kitchen is wonderful. The staff were fantastic, the vibes were great, and the food was so flavorful. I went at 5pm before a broadway show and I let them know I had a show to get to and they made sure they got me my food quickly, I was out of there by 545. The location is super convenient if you're headed to a show! I wish I had been hungrier to try more of the menu, but the crab cakes and Caesar salad honestly blew me away. The salad portion is huge, and you can add mock meat to it if you want to, too. You've gotta try it out! read more
