    Maitake Wings French Toast

Food was delish! As a pescatarian I enjoyed the mushroom wings, and French toast! Will return, so much other options I would like to try

Quaint yet inviting Bar area. 11.27.2025.

Vegan fine dining at an elevated level. Due to last-minute pivots, I needed extra sides for my Vegan Thanksgiving dinner, and PSK came through beautifully. I called a couple of times before arriving and spoke with Jeff, who was genuinely kind, patient, and incredibly helpful in answering my questions. From the moment I walked in, the service felt warm and attentive. Everyone was welcoming, and the energy was relaxed yet polished. Along with their Thanksgiving offerings, I added sides of stuffing, mac and cheese, and mini cornbread muffins to round out my meal. While waiting, I sat at the bar and tried the Colombian potato soup a rich, comforting, and full of flavor. The bar itself turned out to be a cozy spot to eat, chat, and unwind. This white-linen, plant-based restaurant near Times Square offers a fully Vegan, Kosher-Certified menu that feels thoughtful and well executed. The pricing is spot on for the quality, creativity, and presentation of the food. The menu is extensive: burgers, wraps, soups, salads, sandwiches, pastas, standout entrées like their savory Steak Marsala, and both classic and French-inspired desserts. Everything I ordered was deeply flavorful and satisfying. My enhanced Vegan dinner was a complete success. I'm already looking forward to my return visit to New York so I can sit down and enjoy the full five-star dining experience.

    Lasagna and Chick'n potpie!

The ambiance is inviting, relaxing, and romantic. Very chic. The staff were cheerful, approachable, and welcoming. This was my second time coming to this restaurant and my partners first time. I ordered the same dish, lol, the chick'n pot pie. If you ever ate meat and had one, you know how good it taste. Well, I missed the flavors so much and this restaurant knew exactly how to make it even better. That crispy, flaky crust on top was divine. My partner had the lasagna. I definitely took several bites. We even had dessert but devoured it in 2 seconds flat and forgot the photo op. Guess we'll have to return. Highly recommend it, especially if your in the city and want a little quiet tiny escape. Ps drinks are strong and tasty.

First time stopping by while being vegan/vegetarian for nearly 10 years. This place is a must try if you are vegetarian/vegan, in my opinion. The options are unique and fun compared to the options you may have elsewhere. I ordered the steak and the chicken pot pie. The pot pie was very good but definitely had a "gardein" taste to it, which I didn't mind since I enjoy their products. The steak was very rich and had a similar flavor profile to actual steak from what I can remember but the texture was not close. Regardless, the mashed potatoes and spinach on the side were so good and savory. The server was very attentive and the restaurant itself was well kept. I would for sure stop by again if I was to return to the area in the future. I've heard/seen good things about the wings!

This spot is very lowkey considering the prime location in Times Square. It wasn't crowded for a friday night and the food was very good. It tasted like the thing it was supposed to emulate. I highly recommend the "crab cakes", it honestly could fool any meat eater.

I know some people are not all that keen on giving plant base/vegetarian food a try. If you are open to the idea of your meal, just being vegetable and our plant base I would definitely recommend this place. Our food was delicious. My salad was humongous and extremely filling. I actually finished the rest of it the next day for breakfast. The drink I got was the smoked pear. It was one of the best drinks I have had in a long time the bourbon literally smacked you in the face perfect! I would recommend this place to both who eat meat and who do not.

"Chili" Chili Cheese Fries - totally vegan

Accidentally stumbled into a vegan restaurant and thought WTH we will try it. WOW was I impressed, the service was amazing and attentive, of course being a manhattan restaurant the interior was small at the bar area but there was plenty of seating towards the back. The loaded fries were delicious and I would have never thought that they were vegan. Overall totally worth the visit and I would definitely stop for another visit

Okay. This was the first restaurant that I ate at. After a long day of walking around we worked up an appetite. My friend said he came here and enjoyed his meal. So we came in. I was not impressed with the layout or their tall tables. I felt like you could not sit comfortably with your meal. Mind you we were a party of three. I ordered the ps burger. The burger looked good. The patty was delicious. The bun fell apart quickly. I also felt like the sauce overwhelmed the burger which made it soggy. The fries were cold and tasted overcooked. I felt for what I paid it was not worth it. To me the whole experience feel short of what I expected. The staff was nice but the experience itself was underwhelming and disappointing. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. Judge for yourself. This is a hard pass for me.

I literally forgot you need to make a reservation for this place. It's about 12:00 and this place is already packed. Valentine's Day we walk in with no reservation, but the concierge kindly says there's a table available but there's a reservation for 1:00 if we are willing and we can finish within the hour. No problem, once service it quick (it is) we are fast eaters due to our jobs (we always have to be on the run) Lucky for us the people who made the reservations did not show up by the time we finished. PS Kitchen does not disappoint, the food here is delicious. Just what you will expect for a vegan place - Nice and clean, quick service and respectful waiters. Hubby had linguine alfredo and with a side of brussel sprouts. I had the pot pie. Clean plates no regrets!

My girlfriend and I were in the mood for vegan food! She mentioned about this place on how good it is! She brought me here so I can try it! The place looked really cozy and inviting! They sat us on the second floor by a window which I appreciated it! To start we each ordered drinks! We then ordered chicken pot pie and the lasagna! They both tasted really good! We also had dessert which was amazing! Definitely would come back to try other items!

Lovely atmosphere; there's enough light, the music is at a good volume, and the tables are nicely placed so the space feels roomier than it is. The food is phenomenal! Some of the best vegan food I've had. The chicken pot pie was hearty and filling, a perfect comfort meal. The peach cobbler was mouth watering, not too rich, the perfect sweet treat to end the meal. My friend had the Chicken Caesar which she really enjoyed, but was quite garlicky, so beware if you're on a date. The service was excellent. Everyone was friendly and helpful with the menu, the food came out quickly (perfect for a pre theater dinner) and water was refilled constantly without having to ask. A perfect dining experience. In addition, their profits go to charity so it's also a dining experience you can feel good about!!

I went to PS kitchen for the first time today. It's been on my radar for a long time now but I finally got around to going for lunch. I went with my husband who hasn't experimented much with vegan food (this was his first time having beyond meat). We arrived early for our reservation and they seated us right away. The restaurant is pretty unimpressive inside, very simple, not much decor. The service was fast and attentive. My husband order the PS classic burger and I ordered the sweet Thai chicken sandwich on a lettuce wrap. I thought it was cool that they offered the lettuce wrap option. Unfortunately, it wasn't as much of a wrap as a few pieces of bib lettuce held together with toothpicks lol. However, the chicken made up for it. It was the best mock vegan chicken I've had by far. I even asked the waiter the brand they use and I'm going to buy it. A word of caution though- the sweet chili they use is not mild. It was very spicy and it was hard to get through as someone who doesn't tolerate spice. My husband also enjoyed his burger. Next time, I'd really like to try their crabby cakes and the maitake wings. Those were calling my name. I did think the menu was quite overpriced. It was $9 for just a tea and the desserts were around $12. For being a semi casual place, it was a little on the high side, but I'd still come back.

They take pride in their restaurant's offerings, as they should. My server was wonderful, offering suggestions to this first-timer. I started with a Volcano Roll - hearts of palm substituting for fish. Well balanced and delicious. Next was broccoli "beef" - fresh broccoli and shitake "steak" with mushrooms really balanced the dish. I ended with something so unnecessary and so wonderful, I'm glad I did it: The sticky toffee pudding. Just pure delight. It was relatively quiet when I was there. I could see how it could get a bit noisy if it were crowded. But even so, the people who visit are friendly and I ended up having a great conversation with the table next to me. I'll be back. I'm not exactly local, but it's definitely worth the trip! Planta is on my faves list now!

Funny enough, we met our only other vegan friend there. So, from the vegan perspective, this is a popular and tasty place. We started with drinks, being lunchtime, we opted for non alcoholic drinks, the matcha colada and the salty maple macchiato. The matcha colada had a nice color but tasted mostly like coconut and pineapple which was still yummy. Friends ordered 3 different kinds of sushi and dan dan noodles with tofu. I was confused with the sushi as I thought vegans didn't eat fish...so yes I asked and was told that they probably made the "fish" with tapioca. I did try a bite of each roll (I was still full from the fest) and I was surprised that it tasted pretty good. They did a nice job with the roll and presentation. The matcha cheesecake was nice and creamy. I would not have known it was vegan. I don't normally like food that pretends to be something else because it usually doesn't live up to the real thing. The idea is that it is not pretending to be something but rather substituting with vegan options, I do think from a health perspective, I am more open to trying more vegan foods. Ambiance felt upscale and wait staff were helpful and congenial. I hear dinner time gets packed here. I may have to try again when I have not eaten already.

And that's really one of the best things about this location of Le Botaniste (there around 7 locations in the city) - being right across from Bryant Park, you can enjoy a healthy lunch while enjoying the park! So what is Le Botaniste? It's an organic, plant-based, and carbon-neutral cafe with locations in NYC and a couple in Europe. So everything is vegan. Everything is organic. The calories and other dietary information are listed on the menu. I had their Chef Priyanka Samosa Bowl (a seasonal offering), which includes brown rice, saag, samosa balls, crispy chickpeas, turmeric onions, tamarind and green chutneys, and yogurt raita. It is 433 calories and 12 grams of protein. I thought it was good - although I thought the samosa balls were quite dry (the chutneys, saag, and raita helped), and I liked that it was light and healthy and wouldn't slow me down for the rest of my busy day. I also grabbed a water and a quinoa peanut butter cookie that I saved in my bag for later. (I noticed that they had some wines that I would have been happy to try - if you eat in, you can have a full experience with a drink.) I showed up right at 11 when they opened, and there was only one other customer. My bowl was ready in seconds and I was out the door and across the street seated in Bryant Park within a minute or two. If you're looking for a healthy vegan lunch in the neighborhood, Le Botaniste is a good option!

Beyond Sushi was in Midtown near where I was staying, so I ended up coming here---on Valentine's Day, which happened to be a mistake! Since I didn't have a reservation, the lady who checked me in told me I had to find a seat at the bar. Her attitude was not the best, as when I looked over the menu and made a decision on what I wanted to get, she dismissed me when I waved her over, saying she is not the person taking orders. Um, okay? Then who is? One guy at the bar was nicer, and was able to take my order. I started off with a hot tea since NYC was cold in February, and then decided to have as much as I could of two dishes---the "chicken" yakitori skewers and the Korean BBQ skillet. The skewers came in a set of two, with a white mayo-like sauce drizzle and pickled cucumber on the side. Super delectable, though very filling because of the protein! The skillet was made with classic Chunk Foods protein, the go-to plant-based option for all the meat dishes at City Roots restaurants as far as I know. This was incredibly filling, but the sauce and the texture were all around delicious as well. I could NOT bother to finish the brussels sprouts the skillet came with---way too much to stomach, and I was going to focus on the "meats" since I can always have brussels any other time! The bill by the end of it was PRICEY. That's why I only go to one of these restaurants as a special treat when I visit NYC. Watch out if you order hot tea...$13!! I guess that's the NYC way, but still!

But there's no denying that BCD has upped their soondubu game considerably in the last decade+ with a thicker, more deeply flavored broth, and now easily rivals my longtime favorite and gold standard, the OG So Kong Dong in Fort Lee. Then I stumbled into a hack that changed my view: lunch! I ducked in for a late lunch on a whim while walking by one day, and this turned out to be a much chiller hour, unhurried and no reservation needed. I was promptly seated, my order taken, and the banchan swiftly laid out. The banchan spread is solid across the board (the little fried fish does nothing for me, but seems to be a highlight for everyone else). I especially love the kimchi, near-perfect IMO, and the pickled cucumber. There's a modest lunch discount, which is a nice bonus for someone who likes to order aggressively. I usually get an oyster, seafood, or assorted soondubu (with a raw egg cracked in), danger spicy of course! Or go the C1 combo route with a galbi (marinated bbq beef short ribs) + smaller soondubu. It's an enormous amount of food, so I take most of the galbi home and feel no shame about it. The galbi, by the way, has also gotten noticeably better over the years - meatier, tender, and the flavor is on point. I've also enjoyed their bibimbap, bulgogi, jap chae, and seafood pancake. Finally, let's talk heat - this chili-head loooves fire! And BCD's danger level is one of the rare instances where the spice level actually meets my punishing tolerance for heat, not some pretense at "American spicy.," despite this being a chain. Their danger level actually means business and brings tears to my eyes, literally. It's still not my favorite place ambience wise, and dinner remains a contact sport I've mostly opted out of, as gone are the days that I can tolerate a culinary mosh pit, and any wait longer than 10 minutes (and only for a superlative place) will trigger an automatic ejection of my presence.
