Gluten-free lasagna with brown rice pasta. The thing to get!
    Akiko I.

Went here to support a vegan spot instead of going to our usual Polish place for Friday early lunch and it didn't disappoint. The waiter was on top of it: My partner got the lasagna and I got the loaded broccoli, as I was feeling something cheesy. Wish I'd gotten the BLT, because as their menu stated, the loaded broccoli was a starter, and very one-note. But that's my own fault. I also got a prosecco which was $3 off which I had no idea about until the check came, and my partner an unsweetened iced tea which she loved. Atmosphere-wise, the place feels more catered to a nighttime crowd with the dark walls and graffiti so I'm not sure I'd go again for brunch/lunch again but I'm glad I'm glad I finally tried it out.

Good food, healthy, all Vegan, good service, reasonable prices, enjoyed the music. Able to have a conversation. I got a gluten free burrito bowl, filling and supportive high protein meal. We had a cauliflower appetizer with dipping sauce, delicious. Also, potato leek soup was enjoyed. We were so full, we could not consider dessert. See the pictures and video. Can I get a heart?

Incredible food with quality ingredients. One of the best Vegan spots in New York. The service was extremely nice and loved hearing great music during my dining experience. I will be back!

    Buffalo Cauliflower Bites

I was so excited to learn about this place. I am not vegan but I don't eat meat and try to eat plant-based as much as I can. I didn't want a full meal so I decided to just get the cauliflower bites. They were so good, as was the sauce that came with them. The cauliflower was the perfect consistency, and the breading on the outside wasn't over-fried. The place is also really cute and has a nice little vibe. There's a bar towards the front and seating area in the back. Good music and decor. I wish I had caught the server's name - he was so nice. After bringing the bites over, he came back with extra napkins "just in case." He also gave lots of great recommendations, so I will have to come back and try the other dishes he mentioned! I hope this place does well

I really liked the ambiance and atmosphere of this restaurant. It wasn't crowded and didn't have that overcrowded nyc feel. Our server was nice. The place was clean. Even the bathroom was clean. We just weren't impressed with the food. The waffle from the chicken and waffles was the best thing we ate. Although the mustard on the waffle was rather gross and didn't fit the vibe of the dish. The chicken pieces were also different textures which was strange. The Mac and cheese had too many "bread crumbs" that the texture was off. And the mud slide pie is nothing more than a fudgy brownie. All three items together was about $60.

We Not Going to Sizzla Coconut Shrimp

We came here for brunch and had such a great experience. Ambiance: it's got a really unique vibe with late night diner disco vibes. The seats were comfortable and it's not too loud. Food: We started with the Mac n cheese. The mushrooms were a perfect touch to add a bit of crisp and unique flavor. I really liked the texture of it too. We also got the buffalo soldier cauliflower bites. They were good but felt average compared to the other dishes we tried. Our favorite was the sizzla coconut shrimp. It was so crispy and flavorful and the sauces it came with were the perfect compliment. The Korean bbq wings were really good and had a yummy coating. We also tried the French toast and it was fluffy and the sliced almonds on top were a good bonus. Service: our waiter was very friendly and helped answer all our questions. He also checked in on us often to ensure we had everything we needed. I'd easily come back here to try more of the items on the menu and highly recommend this spot.

The Luca Brasi Oshi Salmon Pasta
    Kevin D.

During my visit, I experience good customer service; employees seek to be helpful and are kind. The Luca Brasi Oshi Salmon Pasta is a filling and tasty meal; the fettuccine alfredo portion is heavy, and carries, nearly absorbs, the lemon and salmon flavor to form a bitter-sour melange to a smooth-softer-fromage-plain-Greek-yogurt-like mixture which tapers with black pepper; and the Oshi Salmon offers a delicate independent flavor, quite savory, saltless-like, dryer than moist, though of fine flavor, like an actual salmon after being on the fire long enough with water treatment, off the fire receives a proper garlic-olive oil treatment. There is a mini-bar seating area as well as a living room-esque seating area. The establishment's interior decorating is eclectic between photography, wall art, and other decor. Chill Vibes. The establishment accepts different forms of payment.

This spot is hands down THE best ole skool ambiance in NYC. The pictures and video do no justice. Absolute vegan that leans toward mushroom base. I have the empanadas, wings, and fries. The bar offers Smokey drinks and great music. There servers were friendly and accommodating. I look forward to my next visit.

    Onion Rings

I married into a vegetarian family. This Sunday, we met up with my sister-in-law and her partner at Urban Vegan Kitchen on 23rd. This was my first time there, but they've been here a bunch of times and it's become a regular spot for them. The four of us were seated at one of the tables in the corner with two chairs and plush bench seating aligning the wall. Inside is super cozy with cool framed pictures all over the walls. It's a vibe. I went with the Nah, For Real? ranch salad and, because I'm greedy, a side of onion rings. This ended up being my meal for the day. It was not only delicious but very filling/satisfying. Again, greedy, on my salad, I added the shiitake bacon because I wanted to sample how they did it here. They put a nice smoky flavor on the mushrooms. These were the greatest hits around the table (everyone was happy and full!): - Nah, For Real? Ranch Salad - The Cody Maverick No Fish Sandwich - The Hollyhood Special (pizza) - Breakfast Sandwich with side salad - Mushroom Empanadas - Nanoo Nanoo Onion Rings

"Best Chelsea Summer 2025 Find" If you are looking for another "Chelsea cookie cutter" place - this is not for you We have grown tired of the "Chelsea AI infused duplicates of restaurants" and are hungry for the uniqueness that used to be in Chelsea and now seems to be going to Brooklyn. So this find was absolutely for us and a very welcome addition to the area We are not even vegans, but loved the food, the vibe, the friendly service, The true Chelsea cool authenticity of this place is only highlighted by the fact that there is a men's spa above the restaurant - it does not get more true Chelsea than a family owned and operated excellent vegan restaurant with graffiti on the walls, urban lounge music on the sound system, and located under the men's spa. We have tons of vegan friends, so we have learned to appreciate vegan food all the way from LA to Seattle to Baltimore to Boston to Montreal and NYC and the home-cooked feel and unique taste of the food here goes to the top of our choices. From the empanadas to the Salmon burger to the scallopini to the mud pie with almond vanilla ice cream - it was very tasty and felt like "comfort food" on a Friday night after a very crazy nyc week. We had passed by this new addition several times and kept saying - we have to try this place, and very happy we finally did - a very pleasant local surprise that we only hope gets a frequent diner program going. Excellent and a new "must stop" in Chelsea.

Loved the food and the staff was extremely kind and attentive. I believe one of the chefs (he was wearing white) came out to deliver our food and then came back to ask if everything was good. Two waiters also came by and did the same thing a little while later. Only negatives are the music is pretty loud for having a dining room and not just a bar, so if you have older people/parents that are hard of hearing this isn't the place to go to converse. But the decorations/atmosphere are really cool, love the vibe overall. The food is pricier but not impossible. Appetizers ranged from $13-17 dollars and entrees around $23-25. I also asked for an extra side of sauce when packing up my leftovers and they said they'd have to ring me up again to charge me for it. It was just a container of syrup lol. But the restaurant is like a 10 minute walk from Penn Station and in Chelsea so this is standard and expectant pricing; I can't really blame them. Great food & staff; I would recommend if you have the budget!

    Special buffalo oyster mushroom sandwich

When I tell you, this is the best sandwich I've had in a very very, very long time. Oh my goodness it was perfect. This was one of the specials they were doing for the day. They need to put this on the menu it is breaded oyster mushroom, fried, nice and crispy, not greasy at all then you got some house made slaw and blue cheese crumbles. I also believe there was tempeh bacon on here, but when I tell you all the flavors went perfectly together it wasn't too spicy. It was not greasy the slaw, freshened everything up the blue cheese crumbles added a nice tang to it. This is a well done sandwich.

The dining room is spacious and with a nice ambience between the lighting and artwork of willow trees. For dinner - I had the whiskey BBQ brisket and fries. The texture and taste of the "meat" was fantastic. Most meat eaters wouldn't even realize that they are eating plant-based brisket - it was that good! Our server "Teddy" was attentive, informative, friendly - and with a clever sense of humor. The price paid was commensurate for the quality of food and service received. This sandwich is usually not something that is available vegetarian so i was curious to see the flavors and textures. The steak is chewy and meaty so if you are not a fan of faux meat then i would proceed with caution. I enjoy the cheeses here as they are unique and different from each other. The sandwich overall was okay though not my favorite sandwich ever. - smoked Mac and cheese (7/10): macaroni with smoked goat cheese, cheddar, mozzarella baked in a cast iron skillet and topped with vegan pancetta and breadcrumbs. This was a cozy appetizer especially on a cold day. The flavors of the cheese are rich and smoky with a hint of saltiness from the pancetta and breadcrumbs. I would have liked it to be a larger portion and offered as an entree. WOULD I GO BACK? Maybe. I liked the ambiance and the option to try dishes that are usually meat heavy but the cuisine is not my personal favorite.

They take pride in their restaurant's offerings, as they should. My server was wonderful, offering suggestions to this first-timer. I started with a Volcano Roll - hearts of palm substituting for fish. Well balanced and delicious. Next was broccoli "beef" - fresh broccoli and shitake "steak" with mushrooms really balanced the dish. I ended with something so unnecessary and so wonderful, I'm glad I did it: The sticky toffee pudding. Just pure delight. It was relatively quiet when I was there. I could see how it could get a bit noisy if it were crowded. But even so, the people who visit are friendly and I ended up having a great conversation with the table next to me. I'll be back. I'm not exactly local, but it's definitely worth the trip! Planta is on my faves list now!

Funny enough, we met our only other vegan friend there. So, from the vegan perspective, this is a popular and tasty place. We started with drinks, being lunchtime, we opted for non alcoholic drinks, the matcha colada and the salty maple macchiato. The matcha colada had a nice color but tasted mostly like coconut and pineapple which was still yummy. Friends ordered 3 different kinds of sushi and dan dan noodles with tofu. I was confused with the sushi as I thought vegans didn't eat fish...so yes I asked and was told that they probably made the "fish" with tapioca. I did try a bite of each roll (I was still full from the fest) and I was surprised that it tasted pretty good. They did a nice job with the roll and presentation. The matcha cheesecake was nice and creamy. I would not have known it was vegan. I don't normally like food that pretends to be something else because it usually doesn't live up to the real thing. The idea is that it is not pretending to be something but rather substituting with vegan options, I do think from a health perspective, I am more open to trying more vegan foods. Ambiance felt upscale and wait staff were helpful and congenial. I hear dinner time gets packed here. I may have to try again when I have not eaten already.

But the food is what really blew me away. I got the Korean Wild Green Tea First Picked, and it was unreal.
