Clean and classy establishment. Left here feeling nourished. The wontons were absolutely delicious and super soft. The pan seared "steak" was amazing!!!! So so good. I wish I personally picked that for my meal. I went with the oyster mushroom dish, which was also great! Martha was our server, who was attentive and knowledgeable. Thanks Martha! Can't wait to come back and visit!

One of the more Reliable , consistent and authentic vegan/ vegetarian spots left in Greenwich Village. Food is always homemade and prepared from scratch. Soups are delicious. The bakery items and desserts ate spectacular. My favorite is the vegan confetti vanilla birthday cake. Some favorite soups are cream of broccoli, cream of pumpkin and vegetable mushroom barley. The ginger turmeric latte will warm you up on a cold winter day. Some of my favorite dishes are the thin crust potato, mushroom pizza, pumpkin quiche, chick pea fries, and the miso tahini sprout sandwich. Highly recommend 10/10.

Came in on Mother's Day just to get some Vegan baked goods and I was super impressed by their selection! Everything was good and reasonably priced. I'll definitely be trying them out again.

Carrot Cake and Chocolate Cake

Peacefood is enjoyable! I came here for lunch and they have a nice menu! We ordered the miso tahini sprouts sandwich, the Japanese pumpkin sandwich, and a side of cheesy fries. I found the miso tahini sandwich to be nice, but a little bland and the bread was a little stiff. I really enjoyed the veggies chosen as the filling like the sprouts, but it wasn't AMAZING. The Japanese pumpkin sandwich is definitely the better sandwich option on the menu and really different! I would recommend that one more. It has just the right amount of sweetness. The cheesy fries were standard but a nice comfort food! I appreciate how this restaurant offers more cozy eats! For dessert, we ordered the carrot cake and chocolate cake. Of note, the slices are pretty large which I appreciate since it's ~$10/slice! The carrot cake had a really good flavor and interesting components like walnuts! I also loved the frosting since the cake itself is not overpoweringly sweet, so it's just right. I think my only complaint is that the first layer was undercooked/slightly mushy, and the bottom layer was properly cooked. The flavor was great, but the inconsistency of the texture was a bit off putting. The chocolate cake was visually beautiful, but it had a really grainy texture so this was a bit dry. However, I think the desserts stood out more in terms of flavor! In terms of service, the staff were super friendly and quick!! I love the concept, the vibe, and the extensive vegan and gluten-free options! Overall, I think the food was just okay, so I would not be RUSHING back to eat here again. But I would try it again and order differently :)

Our vegan friends recommended Peacefood, and it exceeded our expectations. The ambiance was charming, and I loved the art on the walls. The food was comforting and delicious. I tried the miso wonton soup and raw lasagna, and I appreciated knowing that the dishes were prepared with care and thoughtfulness. Being gluten-free and dairy-free, I enjoyed the lasagna. Although it wasn't served warm (because it's raw), the flavor and texture were enjoyable. They don't serve alcoholic beverages, but they do have a great selection of teas, and their coffee is quite strong, a perfect complement to their scrumptious desserts. We ended our meal with carrot cake and peanut butter cheesecake. I loved the icing-to-cake ration of their carrot cake (they didn't scrimp!). The cheesecake wasn't too sweet, which I appreciated. They offer a wide selection of desserts, and I can't wait to try the other options. Above all, the staff were attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back!

The food is always excellent. When my friend is in town on business we always stop by.

Tiramisu

Perfect place to enjoy dessert! I think their tiramisu and carrot cake are literally spot on in the flavors, texture and presentation. I have been wanting to try other things here but every time I end up here I just want the tiramisu or carrot cake because they are so spot on and many other places that try similar items miss on the texture or flavor so I feel like I have to enjoy it where I can. Definitely recommend here for a great vegan dessert!

Do you have items on the menu that do not contain nuts?

I've eaten there countless times and can confirm they have NF items. Most of the cakes have nuts though but your server would know that.

The dining room is spacious and with a nice ambience between the lighting and artwork of willow trees. For dinner - I had the whiskey BBQ brisket and fries. The texture and taste of the "meat" was fantastic. Most meat eaters wouldn't even realize that they are eating plant-based brisket - it was that good! Our server "Teddy" was attentive, informative, friendly - and with a clever sense of humor. The price paid was commensurate for the quality of food and service received. Vegans, omnivores, and explorers alike - should try Willow Vegan Bistro!

SERVICE - located in Chelsea…read more - spacious interior with tables for groups of 2-4 people - reservations are not required though could be helpful if you do not want to risk waiting - great service! our waiter provided us with comprehensive descriptions of the dishes and drinks - food served relatively quickly - ambiance good for a semi formal meal MENU - french American bistro food - all vegan/vegetarian - slightly pricey FOOD - French dip (7/10): vegan grilled steak with provolone cheese, goat cheese, caramelized onion, and horseradish aioli on a toasted baguette served with a side of au jus dip and fries. This sandwich is usually not something that is available vegetarian so i was curious to see the flavors and textures. The steak is chewy and meaty so if you are not a fan of faux meat then i would proceed with caution. I enjoy the cheeses here as they are unique and different from each other. The sandwich overall was okay though not my favorite sandwich ever. - smoked Mac and cheese (7/10): macaroni with smoked goat cheese, cheddar, mozzarella baked in a cast iron skillet and topped with vegan pancetta and breadcrumbs. This was a cozy appetizer especially on a cold day. The flavors of the cheese are rich and smoky with a hint of saltiness from the pancetta and breadcrumbs. I would have liked it to be a larger portion and offered as an entree. WOULD I GO BACK? Maybe. I liked the ambiance and the option to try dishes that are usually meat heavy but the cuisine is not my personal favorite.

They take pride in their restaurant's offerings, as they should. My server was wonderful, offering suggestions to this first-timer. I started with a Volcano Roll - hearts of palm substituting for fish. Well balanced and delicious. Next was broccoli "beef" - fresh broccoli and shitake "steak" with mushrooms really balanced the dish. I ended with something so unnecessary and so wonderful, I'm glad I did it: The sticky toffee pudding. Just pure delight. It was relatively quiet when I was there. I could see how it could get a bit noisy if it were crowded. But even so, the people who visit are friendly and I ended up having a great conversation with the table next to me. I'll be back. I'm not exactly local, but it's definitely worth the trip! Planta is on my faves list now!

I am not vegan. If it weren't for our friends who are, and having eaten already at the kopino fest,…read morewe probably would not have gone. Funny enough, we met our only other vegan friend there. So, from the vegan perspective, this is a popular and tasty place. We started with drinks, being lunchtime, we opted for non alcoholic drinks, the matcha colada and the salty maple macchiato. The matcha colada had a nice color but tasted mostly like coconut and pineapple which was still yummy. Friends ordered 3 different kinds of sushi and dan dan noodles with tofu. I was confused with the sushi as I thought vegans didn't eat fish...so yes I asked and was told that they probably made the "fish" with tapioca. I did try a bite of each roll (I was still full from the fest) and I was surprised that it tasted pretty good. They did a nice job with the roll and presentation. The matcha cheesecake was nice and creamy. I would not have known it was vegan. I don't normally like food that pretends to be something else because it usually doesn't live up to the real thing. The idea is that it is not pretending to be something but rather substituting with vegan options, I do think from a health perspective, I am more open to trying more vegan foods. Ambiance felt upscale and wait staff were helpful and congenial. I hear dinner time gets packed here. I may have to try again when I have not eaten already.

The space was super clean, calm, and had a vibe that felt authentic to the cuisine. The staff was also incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and fast, which made the whole experience even better. But the food is what really blew me away. I got the Korean Wild Green Tea First Picked, and it was unreal. Yes, it had that beautiful green tea character, but it was so much more layered than that--smooth, complex, almost naturally sweet, and honestly one of the most memorable teas I've had anywhere. I also ordered the iced matcha latte, and it was easily the best matcha latte I've ever had: no grittiness at all, just incredibly smooth, creamy, and perfectly balanced. We also had the baby dumplings in spicy sauce, popcorn shrimp, fried Manchurian cauliflower, spicy kimchi pancakes, Peking duck baos, and the duck rice bowl. Every single dish was excellent. I'm still baffled by how well they nailed the shrimp texture--seriously impressive. The flavors across the board were rich, creative, and satisfying without feeling heavy. If you're in Murray Hill and want a standout vegan lunch or dinner, or you're just looking for one of the best plant-based restaurants in Manhattan, Franchia is absolutely worth going out of your way for. Highly recommend.
