I have been to this P.F. Chang's restaurant so many times over the years and never had a bad experience with this restaurant. Not even ONCE!! We had out of town guests visiting us from San Diego and they were only going to be here for 2 days. I wanted to treat them to P.F. Chang, and they were more than delighted to accept my invitation. We didn't make reservations and walked in last night almost 6:30pm and was greeted by a very nice hostess. She took me and my 2 guests to our table and a minute later Brandon came to take our order. They were not very familiar with the menu, so I ordered an appetizer and 3 entrées for all of us. We ordered their Orange Chicken, Mangolian Beef, Shrimp Fried Rice, and Spicy Tuna Roll. That was plenty of food. The food came out quick and fast. It was delicious, hot, flavorful, a bit salty, and didn't even need any extra sauces to go with it. Brandon gave us a great service. They have an outside seating, underground parking, and restrooms. Restaurant and the restrooms were SPOTLESS CLEAN! They both got Coke for their drinks and I stayed with water. We dined at this PF Chang's location on Feb 22nd and while the service at the bar was good, the food was extremely disappointing. We ordered the Northern Style Pork Ribs, Spicy Tuna Roll, Crab Wontons, and Salt and Pepper Shrimp. The Pork Ribs were actually quite good, but we couldn't make it more than halfway through the crab wontons - the crab tasted off to the point where if we continued eating, we felt we might get sick. The spicy tuna roll was fine, but did not taste very fresh which explains the extreme amount of sauce they put on the roll. Finally, the shrimp tasted fine but was drowning in oil. My girlfriend could barely eat it. Unfortunately we did not have time to voice our complaints as we had an urgent commitment to attend to. I've dined at PF Chang's other locations before and this was by far the worst quality meal I've had there. Maybe stick to ordering drinks or simple items like noodles or the ribs. The most foul and overpriced delivery I have ever had! Ordered the full price pepper steak and it came with maybe 5 pieces of beef for $25, the beef was so tough couldn't chew it and the rice was HARD and completely inedible. I had to make my own rice! I also ordered a kids meal which is supposed to come with rice but they didn't include any, but honestly I had to make my own rice regardless because they served me undercooked with my main meal. Absolutely disgusting, worse than Panda Express and the chicken was basically a McDonald's chicken nugget. Our server, Gregg was absolutely outstanding with accommodating us with our dietary preferences. He was patient, knowledgeable, and was able to accommodate us when selecting our choices from the pre fixed menu for Valentine's Day. Food was spot on and so was the service. When it comes to food at the Sherman Oaks Galleria, wifey and I always choose between The Cheesecake Factory or P.F. Chang's. To be honest, we've been coming to P.F. Chang's a lot more lately because it's closer out of the two coming from the parking garage (what can I say, we get lazy!) but also because the service is miles better! We're always warmly greeted upon entering, the space inside the restaurant is huge (so you never feel cramped no matter how busy it gets), the servers are always attentive and friendly, and the food is pretty good to boot! For appetizers, the Pork Dumplings are our go-to. For chicken, Chang's Spicy Chicken and the Crispy Honey Chicken always hit the spot. If you want to get fancy with a non-alcoholic drink, the Strawberry Cucumber Limeade is a refreshing way to wash everything down. Food is family size (or individual size depending on how hungry you are) so we always share. Oh man, there's a reason why most P.F. Chang's are closing. Decided to get some Lo Mein here for old time's sake. The noodles were plain and had very little, if any sauce. There may have been some salt or soy sauce on them but that's all I could see or taste. There were about 6-7 tiny pieces of dried, fried chicken. Yeah, it actually looked deep fried. Words can not describe how gross this was. And they package to-go in the thickest plastic containers now that will be in a landfill for 1000 years. P.F. Ambiance: If you like dining in at a place where the ambient music is loud enough to make ordinary discussion iffy or impractical, you'll love P.F.C's choices at this location. Not a fan, so we opted for take-out. Service: The young woman who greeted us at the hostess station, when asked about the food at P.F.C.'s, said, "Oh, I don't know anything about the food here." This was such an unexpected statement that we asked, "What do you do here?", and she confirmed that she was indeed the 'hostess' at P.F.C.'s. Huh. Tell us that you were hired for, um, 'other skills', without overtly saying that. Food: We ordered certain dishes, but the kitchen and food take-out staff did not get it right. The lettuce wraps did indeed have lettuce leaves that were clean, crisp, and fresh. The lettuce was literally the only thing in our entire take-out order that tasted reasonably good. The minced chicken in these Lettuce Wraps was cubed, not minced, and did not actually taste like chicken. The description claims these wraps will also have "mushrooms and water chestnuts in a savory sauce", but the water chestnuts had no texture, the sauce was cloyingly sweet not savory, and the almost non-existent mushrooms had given up long ago. It was framed as a 'secret family recipe', and I dearly wish it had remained a secret. The Ma-Po Tofu did not contain any tofu. Like, at all. I've eaten tofu of different types (soft, firm, aged, pressed, etc.) in various recipes in restaurants over the last 50 years, and I cannot recall ever having something the consistency of Play-doh served with a crusty coating reminiscent of sawdust. The sauce it was slathered with was not 'spicy, savory, or hot', which one would expect with this popular Sichuan dish; it tasted like a watered-down version of the sauce used in the lettuce wraps previously mentioned, just slightly burned. So that was different. The Beef with Broccoli had both recognizably beef-like bits and broccoli. If they were to have been stir-fried as per the description, the broccoli were not informed, while the beef decided to be as cooked as possible. The broccoli were most likely steamed or boiled, based on taste and texture. The 'savory sauce' was an oily mix of sugar and soy sauce. I'm assuming these dishes were actually freshly made at this location, and not microwaved from factory-made lumps dumped at each location. None of these dishes should be overly-sweet; all of them were. All of them should have been at least 'savory'; none were. I have to assume that everyone at this P.F. Chang's, like the 'hostess', also "don't know anything about the food here". I certainly wish that I did not. Years and years ago, this location served tasty food with lovely, complex flavors, attentive service, and all at reasonable prices. The only thing that remains is the name -- this is a stunningly poor value, with high prices, poorly-prepared food, and indifferent service. I can say with absolute confidence that any other restaurant (including food found at gas stations) within a ten-mile radius will be a better value, and will even look like and taste like food. read more

I really liked the Mongolian beef it was delicious and full of flavor. The shrimp with rice was also really good and cooked perfectly. The sushi was fine, not the best I've had, but still decent. Oh my how Pf Changs has changed. My family and I would frequent this location but after our recent experiences, won't be coming back for a while. Hopefully they improve their quality so we can come back. The issue is the food portions and quality has really changed. The lettuce wraps no longer come with the half a head of lettuce like we were use to. It only comes with a couple pieces now and you would have to constantly ask the server for more. There are also no more sauces on the table where you can customize your own sauce to the spice level of your liking. You now have to ask the server for sauce and they bring out a small cup at a time. We were in the area and really hungry so we decided to try this PF Chang's which is connected to the Galleria mall. It was early evening with people starting to come in for their family dinners. Outside had a nice seating area and inside had a lot of open seating perfect for large groups and parties. We sat outside and for the food we ordered the Kung Pao Brussel Sprouts, Mongolian Beef, Chicken Pad Thai, Crispy Honey Chicken and brown rice. All were basic and nothing special. They even looked basic when they came out. But I can't complain, it is a chain so our expectations were not very high. First visit to this location. Came with my daughter and a family member that was in town. Daughter ordered the lettuce wraps, me the California roll and a shrimp tempura roll and my nephew the orange chicken. Well they got their food, but I had to wait for at least 15 minutes for my food to come to the table. They were already done eating when my food was brought to the table. I thought the purpose of going to a restaurant was to eat together. And the place was prettyuch empty. And we asked for a booth when plenty were open but they made us wait another 20 minutes. The afternoon lunch turned out wonderful!!! Our waiter was exceptional! He was pleasant, professional, and funny! The place was not crowded, and parking was easy! I got Egg drop soup, beef & broccoli with white rice also decided to try out their new drink Apple, spice and everything nice (which I have to say was my favorite part of my meal); my husband got pork egg roll, Mongolian beef with white rice. We also got a side of veggie spring rolls. The soup was okay, but sadly my food was half cold/warm as if they warmed it up in the microwave part of the food was congealed. My husband's dish was burnt but he was hungry and ate it, their sauce tasted like horseradish (very alarming). Ok, some restaurants just don't have a good lunch business, even though they are surrounded by offices. Then we were seated and we ordered some appetizers. They were ok, not great. Then they brought out our food. The Mongolian beef should have been called the Mongolian beef jerky. It was so over cooked. We ordered chicken and it too was way over cooked. I'm not sure why everyone seems so upset with this location, but we LOVE IT! Yes, 5 Stars, and yes yes, I know, it's PF Changs. A chain restaurant nothing equsite or fancy, but can I just saying, everyone at this location is extremely friendly and attentive! Our service has never been a miss. The servers are very nice, offer great suggestions and bring food accordingly. The menu items we order are the same items we've ordered for YEARS. The hard to miss and ignore, Mongolian Beef, Chicken Lo Mein, Egg Flower Soup, Fried Rice, and kids meals with a side of Ring of Fire Sauce. We ask the servers to bring out items hot as their made, so everything is warm and enjoyable, and they do just that. There is a nice parking garage to park in, and the validate to some degree. The only PF Changs in the area, and well deserved to still be around. Don't take our word for it though, go check it out yourself, and go with an open mind. It's Chinese food worth coming back for. Going to a movie so decided to have dinner here first. It was a bit busy and when seeing if we could get a table and served quickly Lindsay was very helpful in getting a table quickly. Our server, Eddie, has a great personality and quickly responded when we asked for things on the side, nut separated instead of combined with the noodles as someone can't eat them. We also got both white and brown rice. He checked in with us to make sure all was good and was quick with the bill. We all thought the food was okay and not as good as past meals there. This review is about the false and deceptive happy hour food advertising. We went in after seeing a signboard outside that clearly stated "half off half appetizers" for happy hour. Based on that, we reasonably expected all half-sized appetizers to be half the regular menu price. Once we were seated in a deserted and uninviting outdoor area (since a party of three couldn't be accommodated at the two-tops in the bar area), we were handed happy hour menus that listed only four half-order appetizers out of the dozen or so on the regular menu--each priced just one dollar less than the regular menu price. We asked our server about the discrepancy, but he wasn't any help, so we spoke to the manager. Her explanation was confusing at best and, in retrospect, downright nonsensical--something about the happy hour half-app price being based on half the cost of a full-size regular order, which literally didn't add up. Maybe she was making it up on the spot. She eventually shrugged and deflected, saying it was a corporate marketing decision and out of her hands. We got the impression we weren't the first to complain. To her credit, she did offer to comp one appetizer as a small token of goodwill, but by then we felt misled and decided to leave on principle, with a bad taste in our mouths--figuratively, since we hadn't actually eaten anything. I've always been a fan of P.F. Chang's. Many of the locations are now closed but Sherman Oaks is still operating and it's still very good. The menu is pretty much the same as it has been for a while. We love the Chili Garlic Green Beans, it's one of our favorite dishes. It seems as if they have some new plating with the Handmade Pork Steamed Dumplings and the Spicy Tuna Roll. Both are really nicely plated and just as tasty as ever. And, you can never go wrong with the Kung Pao Chicken and the Pepper Steak. On my most recent visit, the service was exceptional. Miguel did a great job taking care of us at the bar, and the decor of P.F Chang's still holds up. We used to go to the locations in Pasadena, Burbank, and Thousand Oaks. Unfortunately all of these spots have closed. There are still 26 other spots in California, and I've been informed that all of these local closures are about leasing location disputes, and has nothing to do with bad business. That's good news. However, in these crazy topsy-turvy times we are living in, one can never be sure. So, go to P.F. Chang's while you can! read more

This is strictly in relation to food. I spent about $100 on two of the Mongolian Beef lunch specials, lettuce wraps and crispy honey shrimp. The crispy honey shrimp was good. The lettuce wraps were just ok, the lettuce was wilted. The sauce for the lettuce wraps was just ok and no way to make it spicier since they don't give you all the sauces anymore. The hot and sour soup was good. The Mongolian beef with the lo mein was just as if it was microwaved out of the bag from the supermarket. Two of us ordered the Mongolian beef and the other order was with the white rice. There was barely any sauce on either of our orders, and the meat was tough and chewy. Not enough sauce, and tasted microwaved. In all honesty if we went to panda express and spent 1/3 of the price we would have been better off. I wouldn't go back and it was an overall disappointment bc we were having a little lunch to see my daughter off before college. I was disappointed that I chose the place to see my daughter off etc. We have been going there for years and haven't been in awhile, I chose it bc it was nostalgic for us as we use to go back in the day and it was much better back then. Also, you can't see it on the menu but apparently for the lunch special the lo mein is a $2 up charge.
