P.F. Chang's is another place I've been to many times over the years, but this is my 1st official yelp review of them. Went here with friends last week because the place we originally wanted to go to's kitchen closed early. It was mostly empty after 8pm on a Tuesday. Service was really good, I'll give them that. I had been craving garlic noodles for a long time, so I got those, and thought brussel sprouts paired the best with them (I don't eat meat) They were shareable portions so pretty big, but i had that in mind while ordering because I wanted leftovers for lunch the next day. The food was...ok. Garlic noodles didn't really taste very garlicy. Brussel sprouts seem mild as well, and one of my friends pointed out that the peanut to Brussel ratio was off (seriously a load of peanuts!) One of my friends said her wonton soup broth smelled terrible (yeah, it wasn't good) and another said their teriyaki chicken tasted more like honey walnut chicken. Heavy sigh. Everyone loves the lettuce wraps which I was never a big fan of until recently. I think they have improved which is great! I have been to this P.F. Chang's restaurant so many times over the years and never had a bad experience with this restaurant. Not even ONCE!! We had out of town guests visiting us from San Diego and they were only going to be here for 2 days. I wanted to treat them to P.F. Chang, and they were more than delighted to accept my invitation. We didn't make reservations and walked in last night almost 6:30pm and was greeted by a very nice hostess. She took me and my 2 guests to our table and a minute later Brandon came to take our order. They were not very familiar with the menu, so I ordered an appetizer and 3 entrées for all of us. We ordered their Orange Chicken, Mangolian Beef, Shrimp Fried Rice, and Spicy Tuna Roll. That was plenty of food. The food came out quick and fast. It was delicious, hot, flavorful, a bit salty, and didn't even need any extra sauces to go with it. Brandon gave us a great service. They have an outside seating, underground parking, and restrooms. Restaurant and the restrooms were SPOTLESS CLEAN! They both got Coke for their drinks and I stayed with water. Well on the way in P.F. Chang's looks impressive -- giant horse statues, cool wallpaper. There's a sleek black and red color scheme. We met relatives there. Our waiter came to the table. We picked seven dishes. Almost an hour went by before we got our food. Our yummy spareribs appeared first. Next, our appetizers arrived. Sort of a reversed order. Our soup clearly had been sitting because it was cold. Our biggest disappointment was the Mapo Tofu. It was deep fried in a sweet and sour sauce -- a highly unusual version of this classic Chinese dish. Our waiter was nice, but disappeared. The manager did apologize and nicely adjusted our check. The crowning touch boxes and bags too small to bring our leftovers home. We did ask for and received bigger ones. The fortune cookies sort of redeemed the meal. For appetizers, the Pork Dumplings are our go-to. For chicken, Chang's Spicy Chicken and the Crispy Honey Chicken always hit the spot. If you want to get fancy with a non-alcoholic drink, the Strawberry Cucumber Limeade is a refreshing way to wash everything down. Food is family size (or individual size depending on how hungry you are) so we always share. We dined at this PF Chang's location on Feb 22nd and while the service at the bar was good, the food was extremely disappointing. We ordered the Northern Style Pork Ribs, Spicy Tuna Roll, Crab Wontons, and Salt and Pepper Shrimp. The Pork Ribs were actually quite good, but we couldn't make it more than halfway through the crab wontons - the crab tasted off to the point where if we continued eating, we felt we might get sick. The spicy tuna roll was fine, but did not taste very fresh which explains the extreme amount of sauce they put on the roll. Finally, the shrimp tasted fine but was drowning in oil. My girlfriend could barely eat it. Unfortunately we did not have time to voice our complaints as we had an urgent commitment to attend to. Oh my how Pf Changs has changed. My family and I would frequent this location but after our recent experiences, won't be coming back for a while. Hopefully they improve their quality so we can come back. The issue is the food portions and quality has really changed. The lettuce wraps no longer come with the half a head of lettuce like we were use to. It only comes with a couple pieces now and you would have to constantly ask the server for more. There are also no more sauces on the table where you can customize your own sauce to the spice level of your liking. You now have to ask the server for sauce and they bring out a small cup at a time.
