Classic appetizers such as karaage, gyoza, broccoli, edamame, crispy rice with spicy tuna, and 3 varieties of bun are offered as combo options with Ramen for $20, which is an absolute deal! Best of all, they offer beer, sake, soju, and soft drinks with great music to create a fun vibe. The gyoza is offered both grilled and fried; we ordered the fried, and it was very crispy and filling. The crispy rice tuna was very fresh, crispy, spicy, and flavorful. We enjoyed it and it was perhaps the best item we had all together. We ordered their veg and blaze ramen. The veg had lettuce, broccolini, avocado, corn, mushrooms, and tofu. It was incredibly filling, but unfortunately, it was very salty and difficult to finish. I usually go to Silverlake Ramen to eat Ramen, this time I decided to try one of their bowls. It did not disappoint. I really enjoyed my chicken bowl. It was on a spicy side, but it was not too bad that I cannot finish it. For dessert, I got Churros with ice cream. It was so good. At first, I didn't think, it would taste this good, but to my surprise it turned out so yummy. A young gentleman helped me with my ordering. I placed the order to go. He was very nice and friendly. He gave me an estimate of 10 to 15 minutes. It was ready timely and didn't have to wait for a long time. This location was very clean and well maintained. They have a small area for pick up orders which customers can sit and wait for the orders. They have plenty of seating area. This location is located in a plaza. There were parking spaces available. Firstly, I've been frequenting this SLR location in Van Nuys for the past year. The service is always courteous for dining & pick-up is speedy & timely. Very relaxed atmosphere, perfect for a quick casual bite for a date, some friends, or family. Booth seating is apparent on either end of the restaurant as well as bar stool seating as you may prefer. The food? Geez, I keep coming back for their Chicken Karaage Curry Bowl. There's something addicting and simply satisfactory about the umami in their curry. Stopped in for a quick lunch while my car was serviced. Ordered the Blaze Ramen with pork, medium spice level. It came out fast and was delicious. The spice level was perfect for medium, the pork was a nice thick slice and was very flavorful, but holy crap that broth was amazing. I used to love this location until tonight. I arrived at 9:00 PM and the guy in the picture rolled his eyes when I walked in. I asked if they were closing and he said they close at 10:00 PM. I told him that was fine and that I would order within 5 minutes. By 9:20 PM I was still eating when the girl in the picture came to the table with the POS machine and asked me to pay the check. I told her I hadn't asked for the check. She laughed and said, "Well, your friend wants to pay." I replied that my friend didn't ask for the check and that I was still eating. She kept smiling and stood there waiting until we paid. I ended up leaving without finishing my food because it was so uncomfortable. There were four tables in the restaurant and they were clearly rushing everyone to leave. While I was eating, the girl kept removing items from my table. At one point she even spilled water on the man sitting at the table next to mine because she was rushing to clean his table. The whole experience was extremely awkward and unprofessional. My wife and I came here for dinner tonight since she wanted ramen only from Silverlake Ramen. I found parking right in the front since we came at night time and they were not busy. We got seated quick because they only had one other guest inside. The restaurant is a decent size for indoor dining and set up pretty nice, it was just humid inside there tonigjt. My wife got her blaze ramen and added mushroom. I got the Shoyu on Fire ramen and asked that the corn be on the side so my wife can add it to her ramen. Our dish were delicious and came out quick. Blaze Tonkotsu Chicken Ramen - 3/10: I had high hopes for this one, but it just didn't deliver. The broth was richer but pretty tasteless and bland. Noodles were fine, scallions helped a lot, and my girlfriend liked the spinach, but overall it just didn't come together. They also forgot the corn, which was disappointing. The grilled chicken threw me off the most- it had a super strong white pepper taste that felt completely out of place in the dish. Personally I'd give it a 3/10, and my girlfriend said it was more like a 2/10. Spicy Chicken Karaage Bun - 3/10: This one started off promising because the chicken was fried nicely, but the meat inside ended up being kind of chewy, which wasn't great. The sauce was way too salty and overwhelmed everything else. My girlfriend especially didn't enjoy this one - her words were basically "very not good." Safe to say, neither of us would order it again. The saving grace was the service and the space itself. The staff were really nice and attentive, food came out very fast, and the restaurant was clean and comfortable. My mom and I came here as she wanted to try out ramen and I'd previously been to the original Silverlake Ramen (located ofc in Silverlake) but this was way closer. This is located in a plaza on Burbank / Van Nuys and I'd recommend entering through Burbank or the side street just before. Plaza parking is deceptively tiny, once you turn into the plaza it'll reveal itself to have about twice the parking that it originally appears to have. Veggie Ramen 4/5, I don't eat pork (including soup base) so I always go for a Veggie Ramen. I've had this before over in Silverlake and remembered it was huge and we weren't super hungry so we ended up splitting this. I do enjoy this ramen and I would have gone higher on the rating but for $17+ this is a pricy dish for a ramen base that I don't think they keep marinating for as long as the pork (given that it's veggie). Edamame 3/5, we added this to our order to get the ramen combo meal ($20.50 for ramen and appetizer). This was alright, I would have preferred it to have more salt or a more even distribution of the salt on the edamame. Silverlake ramen is always amazing. Ive been to the original location and this one is like a carbon copy of them. The broth is full and hardy which is especially amazing due to the rains last week. I was so full from the amount of noodles they gave you and the shoyu broth was so delicious. Francis was also an amazing server! Had a great experience eating a bowl of ramen paired with some classic appetizers such as my all-time favorite edamame and fried calamari. There was a special collab going on between Silverlake Ramen and an anime called Naruto. Coincidentally, I've become a recent huge fan of Naruto and made plans to go to a Silverlake Ramen branch one day with my girlfriend before the months-long promo ends. I really found the Tonkotsu ramen to be super yummy and delicious. The noodles were firm and absorbed the taste of the broth really well. The egg was boiled perfectly, giving the nice yolky spash when you bite onto it. I think the pork was also nice, juicy, and tender!! Back to the collab, I couldn't help but make sure to grab a limited edition tshirt while supplies lasted. Such a fun way to enjoy a bowl of ramen and it really got me interested in trying out Silverlake ramen too!!! This SILVERLAKE RAMEN branch is located in a pretty nondescript shopping center in one of the busiest streets in the Valley. There is a large parking lot behind the building/s, or behind the center, you could say. The restaurant was not even half full so it was easy to come in and get seated. The plaza Silverlake Ramen is at, has plenty of parking. We checked in and got sitted right away by the trainee, who is being supervised or trained by a colleague. They were both very pleasant and made us feel welcome. They made sure to ask if we need certain accommodations for our newborn like a high chair or water. I like the venue, it is pretty modernized and they have great choice of music. I'm assuming whoever is in charge of the music is a millennial lol. We didn't wait long for our food.
