4* Ramen 5* Service 4.5* Ambiance Decent ramen with a nice variety of appetizers and drinks. I consider Silverlake Ramen quality fast food ramen, offering appetizers, rice bowls, rolls, and dessert. Classic appetizers such as karaage, gyoza, broccoli, edamame, crispy rice with spicy tuna, and 3 varieties of bun are offered as combo options with Ramen for $20, which is an absolute deal! Best of all, they offer beer, sake, soju, and soft drinks with great music to create a fun vibe. The gyoza is offered both grilled and fried; we ordered the fried, and it was very crispy and filling. The crispy rice tuna was very fresh, crispy, spicy, and flavorful. We enjoyed it and it was perhaps the best item we had all together. We ordered their veg and blaze ramen. The veg had lettuce, broccolini, avocado, corn, mushrooms, and tofu. It was incredibly filling, but unfortunately, it was very salty and difficult to finish. The Blaze ramen was much more flavorful, and we were able to enjoy it much more. Although it appears as if the storefront is on Van Nuys, it is in the back with plenty of parking.
I usually go to Silverlake Ramen to eat Ramen, this time I decided to try one of their bowls. It did not disappoint. I really enjoyed my chicken bowl. It was on a spicy side, but it was not too bad that I cannot finish it. For dessert, I got Churros with ice cream. It was so good. At first, I didn't think, it would taste this good, but to my surprise it turned out so yummy. A young gentleman helped me with my ordering. I placed the order to go. He was very nice and friendly. He gave me an estimate of 10 to 15 minutes. It was ready timely and didn't have to wait for a long time. This location was very clean and well maintained. They have a small area for pick up orders which customers can sit and wait for the orders. They have plenty of seating area. This location is located in a plaza. There were parking spaces available. I would say depending on the time of visit, it might hard to find a parking spot
Firstly, I've been frequenting this SLR location in Van Nuys for the past year. The service is always courteous for dining & pick-up is speedy & timely. Very relaxed atmosphere, perfect for a quick casual bite for a date, some friends, or family. Booth seating is apparent on either end of the restaurant as well as bar stool seating as you may prefer. The food? Geez, I keep coming back for their Chicken Karaage Curry Bowl. There's something addicting and simply satisfactory about the umami in their curry. Their ramen bowls are also great, however this review will bring light to their underrepresented bowls. Bao appetizers are solid as well. Will continue to return SLR Van Nuys. Parking: Plenty of parking spots available - free
The food is ok and good value for what you get but don't order any sides. We ordered a side of chicken for $3 dollars and it was literally 3 small slices of chicken. And this is their side of broccoli for $2 and it's greasy AF.
Had such a great experience at Silverlake Ramen! The ramen was really good, but what stood out the most was the service. Alexa was absolutely amazing, so friendly and attentive, and made us feel really welcome. She checked on us throughout the meal and made the whole experience even better. Definitely coming back!
Here at the Van Nuys location , I've had the fortunate occasion to have met Lola & Alexa; my servers, and they made an indelible impression upon me, with their recommendation for my first time go easy approach to Silverlake Ramen. This bowl of fire roasted chicken is a great opening statement for me, here. I will be back for more and it all; here at Silverlake Ramen. Respectfully Randall
My wife and I came here for dinner tonight since she wanted ramen only from Silverlake Ramen. I found parking right in the front since we came at night time and they were not busy. We got seated quick because they only had one other guest inside. The restaurant is a decent size for indoor dining and set up pretty nice, it was just humid inside there tonigjt. My wife got her blaze ramen and added mushroom. I got the Shoyu on Fire ramen and asked that the corn be on the side so my wife can add it to her ramen. Our dish were delicious and came out quick. The customer service here was great tonight and now I ate at all the Sliverlake Ramen locations in the Valley.
Blaze Tonkotsu Chicken Ramen - 3/10: I had high hopes for this one, but it just didn't deliver. The broth was richer but pretty tasteless and bland. Noodles were fine, scallions helped a lot, and my girlfriend liked the spinach, but overall it just didn't come together. They also forgot the corn, which was disappointing. The grilled chicken threw me off the most- it had a super strong white pepper taste that felt completely out of place in the dish. Personally I'd give it a 3/10, and my girlfriend said it was more like a 2/10. Spicy Chicken Karaage Bun - 3/10: This one started off promising because the chicken was fried nicely, but the meat inside ended up being kind of chewy, which wasn't great. The sauce was way too salty and overwhelmed everything else. My girlfriend especially didn't enjoy this one - her words were basically "very not good." Safe to say, neither of us would order it again. The saving grace was the service and the space itself. The staff were really nice and attentive, food came out very fast, and the restaurant was clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, the food just didn't match the quality of the service, we wouldn't come back here.
I have to give this place a shoutout. I'm one picky eater, but they came through. They set me up with their Chicken Karaage bowl - nothing crazy for me though - just chicken and rice. Old school. Alexa took my order. She was very kind, inviting, and ensured that my order was exactly as I wanted. I normally don't give employees a shoutout on these reviews but Alexa deserves all the praise. Patient and despite the madness of the rush, she never skipped an opportunity to check on me. Diner dash in real life. I loved the vibe of the place. I will definitely be returning with a little more courage to try out their sake
I used to love this location until tonight. I arrived at 9:00 PM and the guy in the picture rolled his eyes when I walked in. I asked if they were closing and he said they close at 10:00 PM. I told him that was fine and that I would order within 5 minutes. By 9:20 PM I was still eating when the girl in the picture came to the table with the POS machine and asked me to pay the check. I told her I hadn't asked for the check. She laughed and said, "Well, your friend wants to pay." I replied that my friend didn't ask for the check and that I was still eating. She kept smiling and stood there waiting until we paid. I ended up leaving without finishing my food because it was so uncomfortable. There were four tables in the restaurant and they were clearly rushing everyone to leave. While I was eating, the girl kept removing items from my table. At one point she even spilled water on the man sitting at the table next to mine because she was rushing to clean his table. The whole experience was extremely awkward and unprofessional. If you say you close at 10:00 PM, you shouldn't start pushing customers out at 9:20 PM. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back.
We absolutely love Silverlake Ramen. Our favorites are the Classic, Blaze mild, and the Truffle. The combo option with the fried dumpling is delicious. We can't wait to come back!
This was my first time coming here, and I had a great experience! Lola was incredibly sweet, attentive, and helpful from the moment we arrived. I asked for a glass of water, and she brought it to us right away. My soup ended up being a little too spicy for me, so I asked if there was a way to order it with less spice next time. She kindly explained how to customize my order, which I really appreciated. Thank you for having someone like Lola on your team her excellent customer service made our visit even better. I'll definitely be coming back
Came in it was quiet there was a nice staff the server pointed me to the veggies and I got it to go spicy !! I love Ramen ! Veggies are fresh and yummy establishments is clean !! It was fast and easy they packaged my bag driver and eat in the car friendly
Some people may ask what is the appeal of a chain Ramen restaurant. Especially for someone like me who LOVES hole in the wall or Mom and Pop shops. I go to Silverlake because I know what to expect every time. When I am watching my carbs I can swap out rice for greens on some of the bowls. When I go for it I start with the chicken kaarage or their pork belly bun. For Ramen I ALWAYS go spicy because it is always necessary. read more

Tried this location out. Nice place, place is kept clean Servers are nice, friendly and professional. I ordered the Blaze Ramen combo with Krarage chicken for $20.50 Medium heat, the Blaze ramen with Pork was excellent! The chicken karate was delish, I dipped it in the ramen broth even though it came with its own sauce. Nice place to bring a date. read more

My mom and I came here as she wanted to try out ramen and I'd previously been to the original Silverlake Ramen (located ofc in Silverlake) but this was way closer. This is located in a plaza on Burbank / Van Nuys and I'd recommend entering through Burbank or the side street just before. Plaza parking is deceptively tiny, once you turn into the plaza it'll reveal itself to have about twice the parking that it originally appears to have. Veggie Ramen 4/5, I don't eat pork (including soup base) so I always go for a Veggie Ramen. I've had this before over in Silverlake and remembered it was huge and we weren't super hungry so we ended up splitting this. I do enjoy this ramen and I would have gone higher on the rating but for $17+ this is a pricy dish for a ramen base that I don't think they keep marinating for as long as the pork (given that it's veggie). Edamame 3/5, we added this to our order to get the ramen combo meal ($20.50 for ramen and appetizer). This was alright, I would have preferred it to have more salt or a more even distribution of the salt on the edamame. My mom loved this because it was low salt so this was more personal preference ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ read more

Had a great experience eating a bowl of ramen paired with some classic appetizers such as my all-time favorite edamame and fried calamari. There was a special collab going on between Silverlake Ramen and an anime called Naruto. Coincidentally, I've become a recent huge fan of Naruto and made plans to go to a Silverlake Ramen branch one day with my girlfriend before the months-long promo ends. I really found the Tonkotsu ramen to be super yummy and delicious. The noodles were firm and absorbed the taste of the broth really well. The egg was boiled perfectly, giving the nice yolky spash when you bite onto it. I think the pork was also nice, juicy, and tender!! Back to the collab, I couldn't help but make sure to grab a limited edition tshirt while supplies lasted. Such a fun way to enjoy a bowl of ramen and it really got me interested in trying out Silverlake ramen too!!! The staff was super friendly and even though it was hot outside, the AC blasting helped alleviate the heat I was slurping too from the ramen!!! Hope to come back again soon to this branch!! read more

The plaza Silverlake Ramen is at, has plenty of parking. We checked in and got sitted right away by the trainee, who is being supervised or trained by a colleague. They were both very pleasant and made us feel welcome. They made sure to ask if we need certain accommodations for our newborn like a high chair or water. I like the venue, it is pretty modernized and they have great choice of music. I'm assuming whoever is in charge of the music is a millennial lol. We didn't wait long for our food. I got their appetizer popcorn chicken and we got the classic and truffle ramen. All I have to say, my husband and I didn't talk much throughout our meal because the broth was so delicious! It was so creamy and flavorful, I was happy I even had a leftover. Highly recommended! read more
