Today, blessings were overflowing! We headed to PF Chang's at The Quarry because I had rewards cash to use. We sat at the bar because happy hour was only served there. I had the Crimson Tiger Long Island, Hubby had the Tokyo Mule, and Dad had Strawberry Lemonade. We ordered the Chicken Lettuce Wrap and Shrimp Dumplings from the happy hour menu. Linda was our kind and efficient bartender/server. She saw Dad eyeing another person's Edamame and gave a complimentary Edamame to him. We then had the Egg Drop Soup and Orange Chicken. I was telling Linda that Dad is 97 and recently had his birthday. She was so impressed. Unbeknownst to me, the gentleman to the left of Dad overheard me. He quietly paid for our food bill, something Dad did often before. We were so blessed from his kindness. I really don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, but I felt I had to share our experience. Our first share the good, our server was amazing. We really were trying not to be picky, but he definitely was attentive. We've been to P.F. Chang's several times over the years, and it has always been one of our favorite places. One of the main reasons we kept coming back was the spicy eggplant dish. Years ago, it was served with chicken, and we thought it was one of the best items on the menu. Since it had been over a year since our last visit, we were excited to come back. We ordered our usual Chang's Spicy Chicken with brown rice, the spicy eggplant with ground chicken, sushi (the Japan Roll and Shrimp Tempura Roll), honey chicken, orange chicken, and the wontons. The sushi was just okay--not the best we've had, but certainly edible. The honey chicken was excellent, and the orange chicken was good as well. Unfortunately, the spicy eggplant was disappointing. It seemed much spicier than we remembered, making it difficult to enjoy. While the eggplant itself was cooked well and tasted delicious, the ground chicken had a texture and flavor that made it seem like it had been cooked earlier and reheated rather than freshly prepared. We also ordered the wontons, but they had a noticeable fishy taste that we didn't enjoy, so we sent them back. They did take it off the bill. Another disappointment was the brown rice. In the past, we loved it because it had a slightly nutty flavor and great texture. This time, it tasted different and wasn't nearly as enjoyable. Overall, we left feeling underwhelmed. It almost seemed as though something had changed--whether it was the ingredients, the recipes, or the kitchen staff. The quality simply wasn't what we've come to expect from P.F. Chang's based on our previous visits. We're hesitant to come back, though we're hoping this was just an off night or perhaps a new cook. I last visited this PF Chang's in 2013 meeting a friend for lunch. Wasn't overly impressed with the entree. Don't think I've visited any location since that visit. But, a friend had given us a gift card as a wedding gift. Armed with $100 to spend we headed over from our hotel. I remember the usual statues but maybe the interior has had a refresh. Super cool mural behind the bar. I actually think they seated us at the same table. I didn't like the Chang's Chicken previously or the Egg Drop. We chose to tackle a bunch of appetizers instead and some drinks. First bites being the Pork Belly Bao off the Lunar New Year menu. Soft buns, flavorful pork and veggies. Possibly the best bites I've ever had at this national chain. Well, that was until I took a bite of the Miso Lobster Dumplings with Chili Butter. Y'all just keep these on the regular menu instead of a limited time item. Wife wanted some additional grub so we chose Pad Thai as her entree. Ordered with beef and chicken the giant chunks of Tofu overpowered the rest of the dish. I mean, McDonalds nuggets are a close reference for size. I'd go with thin strips that mimic the width of the noodle instead of chunks. I bet 90 percent of your diners wouldn't even know it was actually Tofu. Good drinks; gift card destroyed easily. I ordered shrimp fried rice for my son and specifically requested that there be no vegetables or mushrooms. Unfortunately, when I got home, the rice was full of mushrooms. To make matters worse, I ordered curbside pickup. After waiting quite a while, no one brought out my order, so I eventually had to go inside. When I did, I found that my food had apparently been sitting on the shelf for some time. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. My order was not prepared as requested, the curbside service failed, and the food ended up going straight into the trash. It was a waste of both time and money. read more

I've had dinner a couple of times at this P.F. Chang's location and I can assure you all that they've improved a lot! My husband is a huge P.F. Chang's fan and frankly loves coming here for special occasions. Over the last few years we've had some not so great experiences, but in the last one they truly outdid themselves. First things first, I would highly recommend making a reservation through their website if you are coming here during the weekend or during a holiday. They can get very busy and their waiting area is pretty small. During our last visit, we visited for my husband's birthday and our waiter went all out. She was very patient with us and brought a couple of things to get our kid distracted while we waited for dinner. They've improved their drink menu a lot and have some more unique cocktails that felt very speaky-ish style. I remember when PF Chang's first opened in the 1990's and it was common to wait sometimes two hours for a table, but the food was soon good, it was worth the wait. Fast forward more than 25 years and there is no wait and you'll know why when you taste the food. The food isn't awful, but it is far from the amazing food they used to serve PF Chang's first began. We had lunch and the restaurant, which was quite large, was almost completely empty. Being that it is located in a shopping center, I would have thought they would be busier. We were seated right away and our server took our order for the chicken lettuce wrap appetizer. Again, it isn't like it used to be. I remember when they used to really get into making the sauce for you. They would ask how spicy you wanted it and then they would make it some what entertaining as they mixed the ingredients. Now they just drop off the appetizer and quickly mix a few liquids together. I would understand if the place was busy, but there was almost no one else in the restaurant so I don't know why the server was rushing. The taste was okay, but not as crispy as I remember PF Chang's from years ago. For our meals, we had the Chang's Spicy Chicken with rice and the Shrimp Lo Mein. The Spicy Chicken was okay; again, not the way it used to be when Chang's first opened. The chicken used to be big solid pieces of chicken breast with an amazing sauce. Now, I think they are just using pieces of chicken thigh and the sauce isn't as spicy as it used to be. The Lo Mein with the shrimp was good. The noodles were good with a tasty brown sauce and the shrimp, while not very many, and mixed in were some fresh vegetables. Overall, the food was okay, but not really any better than some of the fast food Asian restaurants. There are so many restaurants that when they first started, were absolutely amazing. But over time, as they expand their menu, they seem to lose the flavor and what made them so amazing in the first place. The restaurant itself was very nice and clean and our server was very friendly. But as I have seen the quality of PC Chang's decline, I don't see coming back. read more

I went to lunch at this restaurant with two friends to celebrate the birthday of one of them. We had high hopes for a great lunch, but when the food arrived none of us liked what we ordered. The soup tasted horrible, the tea was tasteless, the lo mein noodles were very dry and the teriyaki chicken was the wrong choice since it too was not good. Had an end of year event dinner with our committee here at this location. The service was great. My food came out on time. Great vibes. My beef lo mein was great & tasty, I wish I had a little bit more beef, but it was good. The egg drop soup was not good at all. It didn't have a taste or flavor. It was like water down soup. I ordered the salt and pepper shrimp and my son in law ordered the chicken can't remember what it was called exactly I also ordered the green beans and he ordered the dumplings I guess that's what they are called. One container of fried rice was brought to the table for us the share well as the rice was favorable but it was cold not even warm. The lighting was great. One huge problem was the many gnats or fruit flies not sure but it was lots we spent the entire time fanning them away. I've visited both locations the one at La Cantera, and the experience was very different compared with the one at Basse Rd. The Basse Rd location was excellent, the food was fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavor. Everything came out hot and exactly as expected. The service with our waiter Rob, was friendly and attentive, and overall it felt well-managed and consistent. Unfortunately, my experience at the La Cantera location was disappointing. Even though it's the same restaurant chain, the food quality was not the same. The dishes lacked flavor, didn't seem fresh, and overall did not meet the standard I've had at the Basse Rd location. It's surprising how different the experience can be between locations of the same PF Chang's restaurant. I would definitely recommend the Basse Rd location, the restaurant was very clean, but based on my visit, I would not return to the La Cantera location. read more

Don't order the vegetable lomein! It's mostly soy sauce flavor with very few veggies. Vegetables are cheap so I don't understand why they can't add more broccoli, mushrooms and cabbage. Some carrots and red bell peppers would add nice color. Very disappointing! The chow mein at Panda Express has a better taste. The Northern style pork spareribs had a good flavor but the cooks need to cut the ribs better. Three of the ribs were cut so there was bone on one side. What a rip off to pay for a rib where half the meat is missing. Also the ribs were boxed in a small container. They used to be boxed in a regular size container with a small amount of Asian slaw. I noticed 2 ribs were on the small size in length. I know they are saving the prettiest ribs for dine in guests. How unfortunate that the take out order isn't the same. read more

I love PF Changs, but I guess it was the time of day or the location. Although I've eaten here before and it has been great. So what happen? The food was not as good as usual. It lacked taste. Wontons were boring, no true flavor. Chicken lettuce wraps were blah. They were missing a seasoning. The Teriyaki Beef Bowl did NOT look at all like the picture. Although this was about the only thing that tasted half way descent. The service was poor. Our server was Dante. We ordered some Ginger Peach Tea. We asked for sugars. Nothing. We flagged someone down since our waiter forgot about us. Finally, we got 2 sugar containers. That was the extent of our waiter, if we got his attn, he took his time taking care of us. We had gotten some hot & sour soup, & then asked for 2 spoons, forget it. The restaurant was not busy. It was approximately 2:47. When we got there we asked about those $5 appetizers so we could try different things, but learned that is only for people that sit at the bar. Excuse me, no one asked us, if we wanted to sit at the bar? All in all it was not a good experience considering how much we spent. Honestly really disappointed. Came in a couple weeks ago and debated writing this review because while the food was good, the service was a huge let down. Trinity was our server, she started by forgetting two of our drinks. Then she got very defensive and rude when we asked about them. The rest of the night was ruined by her continued attitude. The food took a really long time, much longer than usual and especially for how empty it was, and some people at the table believed she took long to enter our food on purpose. I eat at P.F. Chang's regularly, and they absolutely never disappoint! Tonight was no exception, everything was divine. We made it on time for happy hour, so I started with the tropical tiki, which was a little bit sweeter for my preference, but it was very good and a bit strong. Nice contrast of pineapple and coconut, and, of course, very aesthetic. From the happy hour menu, we ordered a couple of appetizers, the tempura calamari, which was ridiculous delicious with some creamy, wasabi sauce, absolutely amazing! We also got pan fried shrimp dumplings, which never disappoint, and I highly recommend. And if you don't like shrimp, you can get them with pork. We ordered the gluten-free shrimp fried rice, which in my opinion is way better than the regular shrimp fried rice. And we also ordered an orange chicken with white rice. The beef had a horrible limp like texture. The chicken in the Sesame chicken was gristly and over cooked. The brown rice was crunchy, and the dipping sauce for the spring rolls tasted like ammonia. Mistakenly left my credit card at the restaurant. Called two days later to inform them I would come by in a week to get it. They verified that that found it and would keep it for pick up. They claimed their policy was to cut up lost cards on the first of every month. This appears to me to be total incompetency and not serving the best interests of the customer. P.F. Chang is a great place for great Chinese food. The service is amazing. The ambience is just right. The music is perfect. I like the fact that they do run specials and if you are a Chang member you get free appetizers we went on a Sunday and was seated immediately and our server was named Cristin . She was amazing!!! I tend to drink a lot (soda that is) and I tend to judge service on if I have to remind the server to refill my drink (she not only remembered what I was having she brought my refills with out me having to say anything 5 stars for that alone) she was very personable and made some really good recommendations which we tried and loved . If you are wondering why I am talking about her a lot well the food is always great and I say try everything it's all good but what makes P.F. Chang's special are the people who work the front line and you can tell the ones who really enjoy serving to the ones who just are there to make money. So if you go please ask for her you won't be let down ! I used to love this place. Last time I was here the food was great. The Mongolian beef was crispy and the extra broccoli I ordered had a reasonable amount. But when I went today I noticed a large dip in quality. Almost all of the dishes and glasses were dirty. There was even a small bug in one of the cups. The food was worse. The Mongolian beef felt floppy and like a TV dinner. It was not crispy and the extra broccoli was only 5 small pieces. The Crispy Honey Shrimp was not crispy at all and felt like it was frozen breaded shrimp that they quickly put together. The only positive thing was the waitress. We went in yesterday around 10:15 pm with some friends. Kylee was our server and she was amazing. Businesses need waitress like her to make it bloom. She was very nice, caring , courteous, patient, smiling all the way through even though a mishap happened. We were there after 11 pm still eating and she did not rush us and was patiently waiting for us. She checked on us during the final calls on the bar and food. We got the booster seats which were not clean and we had to clean it. That is why I have taken a star off. I am sharing experience of the food I am having it for the first time. Crispy green beans was something I was having for the first time at this place and it was nice and good. The sauce complimented it and gave flavor to the beans. 5/5 Singapore street noodles we added some extra egg to it and tasted nice. We were told the Singapore noodles have curry sauce flavor to it. 5/5 Banana spring rolls were not my kind of desert. The coconut pineapple ice cream was really good. I didn't imagine the banana would be inside the spring rolls. I couldn't take the banana inside the spring roll. It was decent enough. Celebrated my daughter's birthday tonight. They had a birthday card on the table waiting for her, with prior reservation. She also got a free dessert, the waitress brought out a sparkle candle to celebrate the occasion. Pure awesomeness! The honey crisp recipe seems to be back, we think it changed somewhere but its back. Thank-you!
