We needed a quick dinner Sunday night so we thought to try Wok Inn Stone Oak location. It was our first time to dine in. Hubby might have ordered delivery before. I tried the Walnut Shrimp with steamed rice. Dad usually likes Lemon Chicken and we gave him fried rice. Hubby had the Dinner Special which was beef with mushroom. It came with an egg roll and a drink. We all got to have a bowl of soup, each trying a different one from egg drop to hot & sour to chicken & corn. They serve huge portions so we have another meal ready. We discovered that the Alamo Ranch location has dimsum so we'll have to check it out.

This restaurant is a welcome addition to the area. They have great food and an enjoyable ambiance. I've been here now four times and they never disappoint. With every meal you have an unlimited soup bar with three varieties of soup. Egg drop soup is always available. They have a daily special plate that includes an egg roll or crab rangoon and a drink. The orange chicken is good although I would prefer the spicy to come from orange peels. The Friday fish is a hearty meal with two fish patties. Their fried rice is very flavorful, unlike other Chinese restaurants that just color the rice. I wholly recommend this for take out or eat in.

We enjoyed our meal recently at Wok Inn. We couldn't tell from the parking lot if it was a drive-thru or dine in. It is actually both, and we opted to check it out while dining in. You order off a very simple wall menu. You self serve your drinks and soup. The food was served very quickly, and very hot. Nice portion size too. The quality of the food was really good. Next time we will give the drive-thru a go. The Pad Thai is very spicy if you enjoy spicy food as I do.

we visited on 07/08/25 and as someone who has visited wok inn for over 32 years I have NEVER been disappointed. I brought my boyfriend for the first time and I was so embarrassed. The soup bar was gross..I have photos of the hot and sour soup.there were no wonton strips. The hot and sour soup was like jelly, I had to ask for some from their to go soups. My boyfriend ordered sweet & sour pork. My meal was brought out to me and they said my boyfriend's would be out soon. I finished half of my meal and a server came out and said im sorry we dont have sweet n sour pork. My boyfriend didnt want chicken but that's all that was available. I am never taking him back to this location ever again! They never did anything about the soup or put our more crispy wontons..I had to ask for some.

Didn't really know what to expect but it was just an ok experience. I was very hungry and in the area so I decided to try it. I ordered the sesame chicken lunch combo which comes with rice, the chicken , and an egg roll. It also comes with a soup and drink. My order took a little long to be ready and when I checked it, my order was wrong. I had to wait longer for them to correct my order and service wasn't the friendliest. I don't think I'll be returning. Food wasn't terrible but wasn't the best either. Plenty of indoor seating, they have a drive thru as well and private parking lot.

Really great for what it is, which is relatively cheap asian food. I'd probably give 3.5 stars, but I round up. Been here a few times in the drive-thru, only eaten inside one time. The drive-thru is pretty quick, obviously they have a lot of stuff ready to go and just toss in sauces and such as needed. I have no complaints on the quality of the meat, which is rare for cheap asian food. They have gotten stuff wrong a couple of times, but overall I don't have many complaints. The food is hot and generally tasty, and the price is very competitive. When you eat inside, there is a soup bar that is included with any entree, which is nice. The soups tend to be a little too thick, almost gooey instead of soupy, which means they are using way too much thickener on their soups. The flavor is good, if a little weak. Everything was mostly clean when we went inside, but they need better storage for their supplies for the kitchen, as there are piles of boxes and supplies in the back end of the eating area, which looks very messy. We have had several items on the menu, including jalapeno chicken, mongolian beef, kung pao, and pad thai. All the entrees have been delicious, with generous helpings that often result in leftovers. The only item we didn't really care for was the ginger chicken wontons, which were crispy and well cooked, but there wasn't really any ginger flavor in the filling, so they were quite bland. The pad thai really was surprisingly good, and was a great balance of sweet and spicy. We will continue to visit Wok Inn as long as they keep up the current quality to price ratio.

The food was amazing, I've never been here and I really didn't expect it to be this good. It was fresh, the soup bar was really good as well. Good job kitchen staff. But the real reason I'm here to post is the service.... Probably best I've ever seen. A young man named Aaron.... Literally ran the entire front of house. The drive thru, pick ups, inside orders. He was polite, he was thorough, kind, and really took pride in his work. I left and realized the tip I left just wasn't quite good enough... so returned with more. Everyone should take lessons from this young man! I will def be back!

I like that when you eat here the soup bar is free my wife likes to get the pad Thai. I'd like to get the general. Tso's chicken through. The food is pretty good here and the price isn't half bad either the ambience is very chill I guess you could say it's just like a little want to be Ramen shack I guess I don't know it's cute. It is what it is. The service is good. It's not like anything different. They bring in your food. They really fast and they're super nice.

    Unnecessary ban. I paid my $10.77, y'all.

I ordered the Tuesday beef and broccoli special online. Paid cash. They gave me fried rice instead of white rice. It's actually pretty good, so no big complaints. But when I went back into the ordering system to see where the rice may have gone wrong, I get a message that I'm banned from ordering for an entire month due to non payment. !!?! I paid. Cash. It was otherwise a pleasant transaction so I don't know what I did to be on the banned list. He bagged my soup sideways so I had a big mess to clean up. Guess who's banning who?

Nasty food straight in the trash! I want my money refunded!!!

This was THE WORST FOOD! Crispy noodles stale and the Mongolian Beef about made me throw up it was so horrible! Even the fried rice was disgusting!! I want my dang $21 back since the food went directly in the trash! AWFUL!!

Still another 5 star! I love this place; I don't eat Chinese food often. This place has me loving it! This plate is delicious and big. They do get very busy just have some patience. You'll love your food. The ambiance is nothing fancy; enjoy your food and the size to the dollar, so worth it!

Sweet and sour chicken. Menu claims it comes with pineapple, carrots and bell peppers. Just a greasy yucky mess.

I ordered the crispy dumplings (pork) and spring rolls as appetizers, and the spicy noodle soup as my entree. My server came to take my order, and brought me the items as they were ready. The entree came out before the appetizers. The spicy noodle soup was spicy (as named) and it was good, but it was incredibly oily and the noodles were overcooked, so I didn't eat much of it. I would definitely recommend ordering this with rice, or taking it home and making your own. The dumplings and spring rolls were crispy, but nothing special. I did like the duck sauce they had -- I would have asked my server for more of it, but she was busy in the back or something, not sure. I wish she would've checked in on me a bit more during the visit so I could have gotten more napkins and sauce. The service was alright. I wish I would've gotten checked on a little bit more, but she was nice and helped me pack my noodles to go. Overall, this spot wasn't terrible, but if I had to choose, I'd probably try another place.

The lunch specials came with soup and egg roll, and fried rice. DH ordered his litmus test dish for American style Chinese- General Tso chicken. The portion was generous. The sauce was tasty. The chicken pieces tasted like your average frozen nuggets tossed in sauce. It's that familiar "seasoning" to the chicken and coating- iykyk. Not bad at all, just not the best. He enjoyed his egg drop soup. I opted for Hunan Beef. The sauce was thicker than I prefer, with an almost gelatinous consistency. The hot and sour soup was nice, a little more sour than hot. We both thought the fried rice that came with lunch was a little bland. Maybe the entree version is better? Each special was under $10, and it's definitely a great value.

Walked in and waited for a few minutes before someone handed us menus and told us to sit wherever. Just handed us menus...in a kind of "just go sit down kinda way". Not real friendly. It was the in between time of late lunch 2:30-3pm so we thought we would miss the Sunday afternoon church rush. The parking lot and restaurant was full but didn't let it scare us. Shrimp Shumai and pork bao buns were so good. My kids asked for seconds We also ordered the sweet and sour chicken, spicy eggplant/tofu, shrimp& broccoli and the combination fried rice. My daughter and I cannot recommend this restaurant. It was better 15 years ago…read more It is too westernize now; meaning the food is more cater/made for western taste. When you walk in up to the restaurant, the view of ponds with large koi fish was very welcoming, however as soon as you open the door/walk in...it's a chaos of sports on tv and western music that will burst your burst your tranquility from the front of the restaurant. The restaurant was busy since it was lunch. We were seated right away. However it took the waitress a few before knowledge our small table. The waitress was in a hurry and look like she already had a bad day. She asked quickly what we would like the drink and we said water and hot tea but ask what type of tea they have? She mumble something I could not understand. So my daughter ask for green tea. We started off with appetizer as usual. Shrimp toast, chicken wrap, Asian bbq ribs then a cup of hot & sour soup. Main dish were Moo Shu Pork and Mongolian beef. Soup came out first...it was lukewarm. Cup was hot but soup was lukewarm. It was vinegary and salty. This is the first time I had seen/tasted imitation crab meat in a hot and sour soup. I'd flag the waitress down to let her know the soup was cold and if she can bring me another or warm it up for me. She gave me an annoying look and took the soup back to the kitchen. The Asian bbq ribs come out then the shrimp toast a few minutes later. The shrimp toast looks appealing. The shrimp were whole shrimp on top of bread, fried bread. It was ok...no real taste and a bit greasy. There were too much honey and chewy/tough for the Asian ribs. My soup comes back hot to touch... which means it was microwave...but not an issues; what was is ...it was still lukewarm soup. I try to finish it but couldn't. Soup needs to be hot; especially hot & sour soup. The chicken lettuce wrap was delivered. It was again salty; no real taste, except for the salt. A lot of mushrooms over powering the this dish. Keep in mind we had a small table and dishes are pilling up. It took a few before anyone came to pickup the plates. Half way through our appetizer, the waitress dropped off Togo boxes with a bag right after the chicken wrap was dropped off.... Staying it's for later. So we went ahead and packup the appetizers into the Togo boxes to make room. The main dishes came out about 10 minutes later. My daughter was very surprised by her Mongolian beef. It looks more like pepper steak then Mongolian beef. Most Mongolian beef are cook with green onions, yellow onion, garlic, sesame seeds and large slices of beef...some with a little sauce other dry so this is a the first for us to see a Mongolian beef looks like that. It was again too salty. There was more bell pepper than beef. The beef was slice small. The moo shu pork come out already wrap?? Which confuse me. Most of the time the thin rice pancake is on the side and moo shu pork is a little sweet and savory that comes with plum sauce so you can spread as little or lot of plum sauce into the rice pancake then top it off with moo shu pork. Since it was all roll up...it was very messy trying to pull it open to put the plum sauce. The dish lack favors...it had a char like taste. Usually moo shu pork is very flavorful and fill with flavorful juice from the ingredients like cabbages, bamboo, onion, mushrooms and eggs. There was no favor except a char taste. I have eaten here before a long time ago and it's definitely not the same taste/food and experience. We pack the food home so we can get a second opinion from other family members and the results were the same. I would never recommend for anyone looking for Asian cuisine. But if you like America/Asian cuisine/atmosphere then this is a place for you.
