We got a dumpling appetizer to share between 4 people and they dropped it off and never gave us plates. I waited... and never saw our waiter. By the time the waiter even walked by our table, the dumplings were cold, and when asked for plates, he acted like it was a hassle for him. I got the lettuce wraps and they were okay. Super heavy on the msg. It took quite some time for us to get the attention of our waiter to get the check... it took over 30 minutes to get the check, pay and leave. Cockroach problem!! My husband and I went to P.F. Chang's in Natick Mall on Monday May 10 at 5 PM. After finishing a mediocre meal at best a cockroach decided to cross the table. Our table was in the middle of the restaurant which leads me to believe that that cockroach came out on one of our dishes. It use to be our favorite place for a while, but last few visits have been pretty disappointing. The service sucked and the order takes forever to get to the table. We were seated at 6:45 and didn't get our entree till 7:45 and mind you we placed the order within 5 mins of being seated. We also ordered the kids menu and we had to wait 45 mins for lo mein and steamed carrots (which were hard as a rock and not steamed) - pic attached to show how exotic the dish was that it took them 45 mins We checked in with our server multiple times to ask about kids order and he kept saying kitchen is busy and I don't know how long will it take....try explaining that to a toddler! I really enjoy the food, I would say it's the best around, but I gave this location only 2 stars because of the lack of effort from the management, and the staff. We were seated in a booth which had rice all over the floor. The place was empty, why choose to put us here. The welcome and hi from the hostess to the waitress seemed forced. I looked around the restaurant and there was food and rice all over the floor, maybe I could see around 8 on a Saturday night, but 2:00p.m? On our latest visit the food quality wasn't as good. Love the dynamite shrimp but there wasn't enough shrimp and too much topping. The sweet and sour chicken had too much breading and more sweet than sour. Do not get the bao donut dessert. They were heavy tasteless and dark brown from the fryer. My husband and I wanted to go back for the Lettuce Wraps and were not disappointed. As always, they were wonderful. We don't tend to eat a lot and normally would have just ordered the wraps. We noticed the Peking Duck on the menu and since we are big fans ordered it, thinking we could take leftovers home. To say this was the best Peking Duck we have ever had would be an understatement! Cooked to perfection, perfect accompanying sliced vegetables and the wraps themselves were obviously hand made. There were no leftovers! Indu was the best server I've had in a really long time. As a server myself I can appreciate good service when I experience it. From his professional demeanor, to his in depth knowledge of the menu, Indu provided my mom and I with great food/drink recommendations. I had the miso glazed salmon and my mom had the peking duck along with two rounds of mai tais. I'm a regular of the one in Natick. Word of advice: never go there when they are super busy like on a Saturday afternoon at a mall when the weather is crummy. They are short staffed short on service. Our food sat there for at least 20 minutes and my BF had get up to find the waitress who was not only tending to tables but was also bartending! The place was unusually disorganized and chaotic. Where the heck is management??!! I guess no where to be found. And corporate apparently doesn't give a shi*. When we go there off hours during the week, Its a much better experience. I wanted to try something new and he guided me to the ramens they offered, I chose one that was a bit more spicy and it came out wonderful! The drinks were well made and Indu made sure to replenish them as the service went on! They have improved their food tremendously in recent months and service has also been considerably friendlier, although tardy or they are understaffed. Either ways, the quality of food improvements makes us very happy to give them our business more often. We love the lettuce wraps (both chicken and vegetarian), also the Poke was really good once. Was missing the sauce and some of its freshness the second time we got it. Their pork dumplings (steamed) were also yummy, and got their Veg dish- Buddha's feast today- fresh and delicious! PF Changs is gross. I'm Chinese, I know what Chinese food is supposed to taste like, and it is not like this. I got some curry noodles- I think they were called Singapore street noodles. They are not supposed to be smothered in sauce. My boyfriend got some Mongolian lamb or something like that. He usually likes food on the salty side, but even this was too salty for him. He now calls this place P.F. Salts. Also, the chang sauce is a joke. I don't know any Chinese people that would really eat that. For a restaurant in the Natick Collection, it leaves a LOT to be desired. What we enjoyed was the food, and also the total on the bill. The service was pretty terrible. We were left wishing for water twice during our lunch. The waitress whined about her job. The lighting was way too dark for the middle of the day. I don't think we'll be back again. The lettuce is iceberg, and I agree with the review by Catie C. that butter lettuce would be tastier and hold the contents of the wraps better. My hands smelled like tempe for a while after eating this, regardless of how many times I washed them. The mixture to fill the wraps was a mix of jinca (I might be spelling that wrong) water chestnuts, tempe, and some other veggies. It had a nice flavor. I ordered a lunch special of veggies and brown rice, which was tasty, but a little generic in flavor. Dorian ordered the veggie coconut curry, which was kind of bland and milky for a curry, in my mind. I also ordered some of the cucumbers as a side dish, which I expected to be more flavorful than they were, with sesame seed and served cold. PF Chang's makes me want to eat mall food court food. At least I wouldn't be paying as much for food that was absolutely horrible tasting. A few months ago, we headed to PF Chang's for the boy's brother's birthday (say that three times fast). Since his brother is allergic to just about everything, they chose PF Chang's for their menu modification due to dietary restrictions. There's a few dishes that cater to people with specific allergies. Unfortunately, while they kept allergy-provoking ingredients out of the dishes, they also kept the flavor out. We ordered a number of dishes to share around the table so we had the opportunity to try a nice chunk of the menu. Now I've had dishes elsewhere that are lactose-free, gluten-free, everything free, but the flavor was still there. A bit of spice can make many things taste a lot better. I wish PF Chang's would learn that. Bland would have been a step up. The boy and I were so highly disappointed and vowed never to visit another PF Chang's again. read more

First off..we were told 30 mins for a table. It wound up being almost an hour. Fine..its the burbs you have to wait for a table anywhere. We got two seats at the bar and waited 15 mins before someone came and asked for our drink menu. We had two drinks and asked to pay. I put my card in the glass, and it sat there forever. We were called for out table and I had to flag down a bartender to pay. I almost felt like taking my table without paying and having them come find me. As we sat at the bar...we watched the madness around us. They staff walk around not knowing what to do, or flying around like chickens with thier heads cut off. The bar kept running out of glasses, and half of the glasses that they put out, they had to repour because the glass was dirty. One actually still had lip prints on it. It was the most unorganized restaurant Ive ever seen. The manager just kind of stood around talking to (my guess was flirting with) the female servers and ignored the madness around him. The only saving grace to our experience was that they have several vegetarian and vegan options. I dont know what Scott means, because the menu had many of choices for us to choose from. We had the eggplant, coconut curry vegetables (waiter asked the chef and this is vegan), the spicy green beans and the tofu lettuce wraps. The food was great as I remember from my visits years ago. The best part was our waiter, BRIAN. He was very attentive, and friendly. He was very cute, and interacted with us on more than the restaurant and the menu. He really made our experience more enjoyable. So one star is for the food and the the two stars are for BRIAN. If the restaurant gets it act together on the front of the house, and hire more exprierenced managers, they could get a four or five star from me. read more

My wife and I went with another couple to PF Changs on Saturday night. Got there at 8:45 and there was a 45 minute wait. The problem is their pagers don't allow you to go too far, so you can't really do much shopping. Since they have little waiting space people just plop down on the floor near the entrance - which is pretty bad. They were right on the nose - we were paged at 9:30. The place is way too noisy. I don't know if it's the accoustics or that they just have too many tables - but you need to shout to be heard in your own booth. The waiter was very good - friendly, provided suggestion on our selections, etc. My only disappointed was that he didn't ask "How spicey would you like your Chang sauce?" or "Don't call me shoeless. You're shoeless.". The food was good, but nothing spectacular. The bill was $120 including tip, though we had little alcohol (only 1 glass of wine total). My family has been in the Chinese restaurant business for as long as I have been alive, and have won a few "best of" awards, so I can spot good Chinese food from a mile away. My cousin and I went on a Saturday afternoon and we were seated right away, which is good. Granted, we went at an odd in-between meal time (3pm), so it was between the lunch and dinner rush. The restaurant is way too dark. It was a bright sunny day and even the sunlight coming through the huge windows was not enough to brighten up the restaurant. Do they keep the lights so low so you can't see the mediocrity of the food? Our server was nice and our food and drinks came pretty quickly. We got the lettuce wraps, the pepper steak, and the beef chow fun. The only one of those three that was even remotely edible was the lettuce wraps. The appetizer itself wasn't that tasteful, but when you mix your own soy/mustard/chili sauce and put it on top of it, it gives it just the right amount of flavor. The lettuce was still wet though, and that made the chicken cold and soggy rather quick. The pepper steak was overdone and the sauce that was on it was gelatenous. Yes, gelatenous. It was also way too spicy and had about three chunks of pepper in it. The beef chow fun (which is my all-time favorite chinese take out dish, btw) was HARD. The noodles were tough and it felt more like eating abalone or tripe than rice noodles. Yuck! Needless to say, I was NOT impressed and will not be going back to any PF Chang's any time soon. I went to the bar close to 3pm to give this place a taste. I had the chicken lettuce wrap. The lettuce had no presentation. I still think this dish would work best with Boston lettuce rather than Iceberg lettuce. The chicken itself is decent. I also had the Northern Style Spare Rib. It was definitely tender, but rather dry. They need to figure out how to lock in the moisture. The iced tea I had has a hint of peach flavor. We made a reservation and were seated right away when we got to the restaurant. We were then greeted right away by our server who was friendly and helpful. The reason I say our experience was just okay was the food. For some reason our food was not as good as usual. We had some items that we have ordered many times like lettuce wraps and Mongolian beef. I'm not sure why I was so disappointed in the food because it's a chain and how can I really expect that the food is going to be impressive? I don't know what I was expecting, but I had only ever eaten an appetizer at a P.F. Chang's before so I was willing to give it a chance. The menu is so ridiculously large that it's difficult to tell the differences amongst dishes. Most of it is a meat with vegetables and a sauce, but there's about a zillion combinations of those. I asked if I could get a dish without shrimp and the server asked me if I had an allergy and I said no. She said it was ok and could leave the shrimp out. I received my dish with about 25 pieces of shrimp. That is a hefty portion of shrimp, so if you're into that, order a dish with shrimp. I ended up picking out the shrimp instead of sending it back because we had a movie to catch and I was starving by the time we got our food. But, yikes. Lettuce wraps were ok. Wine was meh. This was really pretty poor. Upon entry An angry cave troll initially scared us away with her club ...but we had not been to Chang's in so long we resisted our urge to run. (I know that's harsh but it was really bad - every Hostess was unfriendly to the point of being mean) to be fair the place was a mad house but no excuse to be scowling and letting it be known they are not happy to have more customers. Once seated, things did not get much better until our clearly overworked waitress came to greet us with a full arm of Martini's she even took our order bedrinked and managed to be sweet - it was impressive which is why the extra star. Let's review, shall we? 7:45pm - Arrive at "The Natick Collection" and manage to find parking in the vicinity of the elevator. 7:50pm - Check-in at the reception desk of the restaurant. Dinner reservations for 2 on a Friday night at 8:00pm. For once in a long time, I'm early. We get a buzzer and wait outside (in the mall? weird...). 8:10pm - Buzzed inside to be seated. 8:15pm - Seated with menus, the ubiquitous "specials" menu (nothing vegetarian - don't bother) and their sauce mixtures at the table 8:17pm - We have decided not only what we want for drinks, but what we would like for an appetizer and dinner as well. 8:20pm - The heat must be on in here because it's awfully hot. A guy could use a glass of water right about now. 8:30pm - Still could use that glass of water. Have heard a rumor that "our server will be over in a minute". 8:35pm - Our server appears at our table! With water! Nearly 20 minutes after we sat down! She then goes over the "specials" menu which we would have had ample opportunity to read BECAUSE WE'VE BEEN SITTING HERE FOR 20 MINUTES! Before I can interject with "We're vegetarians and have already figured out what we want to order," we're going through the sauce mixture, talking about specials, and learning about flights of wine we can get. Just serve me food. I'm actually hungry now. Eventually, orders are in (Lemonade & a martini, one appetizer, two entrees - one of which is the ubiquitous Vegetarian Lettuce Wraps which appear out of the kitchen every 2 seconds, it appears. 8:45pm - Lemonade arrives. Martini is still being made. 8:50pm - Martini arrives. Lemonade running low. Must not drink all the water now. Could come in handy later. 8:55pm - Appetizer of 4 pan-fried vegetable dumplings arrive. "Pan-fried" may be a misnomer as one side of the dumpling is perfectly charred, while the other side (where it's all folded together, mind you) has been lightly dumped in the pan. End result? Transferring said dumplings to appetizer plate results in contents of dumplings transferring across the entire table from plate to plate. I am so hungry at this point, I resort to using a fork to retrieve every last morsel - even those I am not 100% convinced are vegetarian. 9:05pm - Lemonade is refilled. 9:20pm - Promises such as "Entrees will be ready soon" and a 2nd martini order occur. Honestly - Vegetarian Lettuce Wraps and Kung Pao Tofu do not take this long to make. 9:30pm - Second martini arrives. We realize that we will now be all the way in the front of the movie theatre next door for the 10:00pm opening night screening of "Iron Man". 9:35pm - As if a magical soy-based fairy has blessed me, our entrees arrive. It is now safe to proceed with the second martini and enjoy both the lemonade and the water. To say that the tofu in the Kung Pao Tofu was a tad overdone is an understatement. It does not matter at this point. 9:45pm - Dinner is done as we devour our entrees with such gusto that it scares away other patrons. We notice the restaurant (which was packed and busy when we arrived) is now nearly empty. Dishes are cleared, offers of dessert are refused, and check is requested. 9:50pm - Check arrives along with a second person carrying their collection of "mini-desserts". I clearly remember stating that we didn't want dessert because it's now 10:00pm and I can guarantee the amount of neck strain I will have during my "Iron Man" viewing will be tremendous. 9:55pm - Payment is made (the curse of not carrying cash) via credit card. I hope the card returns before its expiration date in a couple of years. 10:00pm - We finally leave the restaurant and notice that the entire mall (sorry - "Collection") is closing/closed. There is an eerie "Dawn of the Dead" vibe happening as we head for the car to get to the movie theatre down the road. 10:05pm - We arrive at the movie theatre and get two seats (separate) just as the trailers are beginning down in the very front of the stadium theatre. Not as bad as sitting on the side at Mann's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, but close. The shame and humiliation of having spent over two hours at a P.F.
