Fried Rice Side

It's a Chinese food with some flare and a bit upscale decor and plating. Taste wise although majority reminds me of my favorite Chinese place I enjoyed the food. The waiter was attentive to our needs an was checking on us. Definitely coming back.

Went on Today around early afternoon at lunch hour and it was empty. 4 people came in after us. Sad to see it empty, because I've always enjoyed this place so much. Got the usual that I always do (Ma Po Tofu) since I went vegan in 2013. It was there that I fell in love with tofu and knew that I was going to be fine meat-free moving forward. Our hostess, Desiree, was also our server, and she was nothing but lovely. Food was good, as was the warm Sake. Was a great lunch and was happy with everything.

Walking into this restaurant at 5 pm on a Thursday evening and there was only two customers and about 9 employees was a red flag but I wanted to give a fair chance. One star is too much. Food was absolutely disgusting! Either undercook or overcooked. And syrupy texture. Staff was in training so hard to say what their service is like. Tables and floor was greasy.

The food is a bit salty and disappointing. I got a delivery of noodles, spicy chicken, hot and sour soup, chicken lettuce wraps and lobster dumplings. With delivery and tip, it came to $103. Was it the best $100 I've ever spent? No. I think Soup Dumplings Plus has way better food. The only thing is they have really good white rice. But there is no way to order more rice online.

Honey shrimp with fried rice

First off the ambiance is very nice, and is a very spacious restaurant. The honey shrimp with divine. Perfectly cooked and lightly crispy with an amazing sauce. The thai peanut salad was absolutely delicious, perfect dressing and lots of crunch factor. Dynamite shrimp with AMAZING! The only thing i didn't understand was why they put those crispy noodle looking things on top of it. I think that actually took away from the dish and it would be nice to see the shrimp. Dessert was this new butter cake with ice cream. Please, do not look at any other dessert and please get this! You will not regret it. Now for the service. Our server was waiting 2 tables ( us and another table), there wasn't many people because it was a weeknight. However, we kept seeing him with his other customers and it was so difficult to get his attention if we needed anything. We did still leave a 20% tip but it was truly annoying, Both tables should be given attention equally. Service is the only reason they lost a star.

I'm stunned at the whining reviews- here's a winning one! This place is immense and the decor is stylish, chic and jaw dropping. Granted when the robots take over we won't need humanly soothing decor at the Feeding Stations, but today and tonight we do. I've attached a few snaps. Snazzy eh? And the food is delicious - not your typical Chinese eatery fare, it's more sophisticated for a cultured palette - no General Sow's porcine grub but rather Spicy Chicken platters or Mongolian Beef entrees are drool inducing! See snaps!

"Chinese" food as Americanized as it gets. Even more Americanized than my local Americanized Chinese food hole in the wall restaurant. We dined in on the Thursday before the 4th of July and, silly me, I made a reservation here for 6 PM, when I should have known that NO WAY was this restaurant going to require one because of how many tables they had inside. Anyway, we sat down at our table right after we arrived and the menu was pretty much what we expected for a P.F. Chang's. To start, we ordered the Chicken Lettuce Wraps. For entrees, we got the kids the Kids Orange Chicken and Kids Chicken Lo Mein. My wife got the Miso Glazed Salmon Dinner Special with Hot & Sour Soup and Fried Rice Upgrade and I ordered the Mongolian Beef Dinner Special with Egg Drop Soup and Fried Rice Upgrade. My expectations were pretty low coming in, so I can't say everything was absolutely terrible because I was expecting it to be a horrific meal. The Chicken Lettuce Wraps were decent, but nothing spectacular. The soups that arrived with the dinner specials were definitely not great, in that the Egg Drop Soup was way too thick and the Hot and Sour Soup was just OK. The salmon entree was on the salty side and the Mongolian Beef was OK. For the Mongolian Beef, there were strips of green onion scattered around, which were really, really strong and probably should have been replaced by another green, like bok choy. Both of the Kids Meals were ehhhhh. The Kids' Orange Chicken was especially a really a rough one for me because it lacked any semblance of good flavor or crunchiness. The one positive on the evening was that our waitress was good, but no one working there was incredibly friendly. The restaurant IS very spacious and has lots of tables, but it wasn't anywhere near capacity on the evening we dined in. Don't expect anything great here and if you're seeking authentic, real Chinese food, then P.F. Chang's is not your spot. But if you're seeking food similar to your hole in the wall Americanized Chinese restaurant with decent ambiance, then this IS your spot.

We went to celebrate our cousins birthday. The food was really good! We were waited on by Dafne, which was friendly, patient and continually checked on us. Nice ambiance. Will return

This will be my final review on PF Changs. The food taste has hit rock bottom. Service is good but the menu selection and the quality suck. I took a picture of their cauliflower side to give you an idea about their quantity and presentation. I knew all this prior to my visit but I obliged my son because he was keen on going here. Hope he is finally convinced that our local Chinese takeout place is way better (and cheaper)

Love this P.F. Chang's location! I visited for lunch and ordered the sesame chicken with vegetable fried rice. I also made sure to get a side of spicy mustard. Other dishes ordered included the orange chicken and spicy chicken entrees. The service was great and our meal came out fast. The portion sizes are epic!

Came here to celebrate a good friend's mom's new life in heaven-food was very good but very very slow coming out. I ordered a egg drop soup and I didn't get it. My Mongolia trio was supposed to come with brown rice but it was served about 20 minutes after the protein and raw. It was a shame because if served together and cooked it would have been a different experience. The appetizers were tasty though and believe me you won't go home hungry, they served you more than enough . There was a mix up of how to order appetizers but that was corrected. Drinks were good and music was very nice so ambiance loved. Overall the two stars were for slow service that came from the kitchen unfortunately it just took too long to get your food and really enjoy it.

The service was amazing. Our server was the best. The food was the worst food I've had in a very long time and I wouldn't feed it to a dog. It was overly salty yet somehow not very flavorful at the same time. The rice was undercooked. The bathroom wasn't visibly dirty but had a pungent smell of old urine. Only picture I took was of the desert which was very good

I don't know what the 1 star reviews are talking about. I've been to several locations - this one, West New York, and Union Square. This one was hands down the best one. It was really clean, menus were brand new, service was great, and food came out quickly despite there being two birthday parties. Yes, the chain isn't as great as it was years ago, but relatively speaking to other locations recently this place was excellent. The food was really fresh and came out hot.

It is similar to Sichuan/Szechuan cuisine in ways, in that there is an emphasis on spicy foods, although the spice profiles differ. It is in the space formerly occupied by a different Chinese restaurant called Joyce (RIP - I loved and miss their short-lived foray into seafood boils). Although there are many great authentic (meaning regionally specialized) Chinese restaurants in Bergen County and northern NJ, including several Sichuan places, this is the only Hunan one I'm aware of (without venturing further south into NJ), and is certainly one of the nicest Chinese restaurants atmosphere-wise, with an elegant dining room. If you want to try the interesting and authentic dishes, of which there are plenty, order from the sections of the menu labeled with "Hunan" or "Home Style." The soups and cold appetizers are very traditional too. The house speciality is the Hunan steamed fish head with pickled chili - the platter is quite impressive and takes 20-30 min to prepare. You can add tofu (recommended) or noodles for an additional $5. We ordered this but since I'm not a fish head fan (and like my fish very simply dressed) - I think it was a type of carp - the appreciation for it was lost on me. It's topped with a heap of red chilis but is actually not as spicy as it looks. Personally I prefer the fish fillet dishes such as the fish with ginger, which has very tender filet slices. I loved the soup dumplings (large and soupy), shrimp with salted egg yolk (or any salted egg yolk dishes, which aren't easy to find), and enjoyed the tender sautéed beef dishes like beef with spring onion or the spicy green pepper with steak, with crunchy peppers that give a piquant refreshing kick. They have whole Peking duck (Beijing roast duck)! The menu only shows pricing for the whole duck but we asked for half and they obliged. To be honest it's not the best Peking duck I've had but the balance of crispy skin (that's yet not too fatty) to generously shaved lean duck meat was unimpeachable. And they use high-quality crepes that are superbly thin but do not tear. The lo mein is also pretty good - it's slightly smoky and is better than common. Parking tip: there are only a few spots in front but there is a parking lot in the back of the building with plenty of spaces. There are lots of exciting and exotic menu offerings and still many we'd like to try, so we'll be back repeatedly.

I haven't been to many Szechuan Chinese restaurants but Hot Fish is easily the best Chinese food in NJ by a long shot. I'm vegetarian so can't comment on meat dishes but the salt & pepper tofu is out of this world (though if you get it via takeout be mindful of the white doily-style round paper on the bottom of the plastic container which I assume is there to soak up excess oil, but is not edible). I'm going to Hot Fish for takeout today and will be getting the salt & pepper tofu dish as well as their Kung Pao tofu which I'm excited to try. The garlic flavored broccoli is spectacular and may be my favorite dish. It somehow tastes even better reheated the next day (the sauce probably gets absorbed more). Ordering at least two of those -- the garlic sauce used in it is truly unique and remarkably delectable. If you're not a fan of mushrooms you need to request no "fungus" as that's how they refer to mushrooms. The veggie fried rice is as good as I've ever had and I love that it's served white rather than the typical soy sauce stained brown fried rice that's much more common. The egg & scallion fried rice is also wonderful and doesn't contain any fungus, unlike the veggie fried rice. Be sure to try the marinated cucumber appetizer. It has a warm, numbing spice to it and is absolutely fantastic. Edemame is good. Sauteed green beans are remarkably good -- almost as good as the garlic broccoli. Come to think of it, I haven't had a bad dish yet. Or even one that wasn't above average. This place is legitimately amazing. Authentic, consistent, and an exceptional dining experience. If I could better express just how much I love the food at Hot Fish I would, I simply lack the descriptive language needed to properly convey just how wonderful the flavor combinations and perfectly textured veggies and tofu taste and leave you feeling after the meal is finished. The chef(s) and kitchen staff are truly talented and consistent, the latter being extremely important as most people want to have the same dish when they find one they love and return to the restaurant again. Inconsistency can really hurt a restaurant and one's desire to eat there again. My only criticism is that Hot Fish isn't closer to my home, because I would genuinely like to eat their at least once a week if not more but since it's over 30 minutes away it makes eating their regularly more difficult. But it has always been well worth the trip. So glad this place opened -- it's the best Chinese food in the NYC/NJ area and has quickly become my favorite restaurant. I'm surprised the current Yelp rating is only 4.2/5.0, though that is very good score and you can't please everyone especially with spicy food which some Americans just aren't accustomed to. I'm interested in how the rating will change over time since they've been open for less than a year. The photo is of salt & pepper tofu and you can see the white doily I mentioned earlier, though with takeout its almost completely hidden when th container is full. While I haven't eaten there myself, my family has and they said the food is even better when you eat there and remarked that the atmosohere is very nice, clean, comfortable, and doesn't have any obnoxious attributes like extremely loud music or lighting so faint you can't see your food. All in all a wonderful addition to the Bergen county food scene and a blessing for those who DO like it HOT (spicy)!

Tough meat aside, their beef and string bean meal has become one of my recent favorites. My husband raves about their spicy Chinese eggplant dishes, and he's been pretty happy about any chicken dish he's ordered. So many the golden rule is to stick with chicken over other proteins? Unlike other Chinese takeout spots in the area, they don't take delivery orders. Delivery orders can be fulfilled either through UberEats or through their website, which seems to outsource orders to another delivery service. I've used the nameless delivery service once and got the order just fine, but the ordering process is somewhat inflexible (e.g. my husband's favorite order from the lunch special menu isn't available as a standalone entree and there's no way to make those requests through the website, so we had to do a pickup order just so we could ask a person to make it happen). There are very few parking spots out front, so we've often had to double park when picking up orders, with one person waiting in the car while the other runs in to pay.

We most recently came in on a Friday night with a 6 pm reservation. Yes, we had to flag down one of the harried but cheerful women working here to place our order. But look around - there's not a white tablecloth in sight. You may have to catch someone's eye, and there's nothing wrong with that. By 6:15 pm, half of our order was on the table, and we were gleefully chomping on fried dumplings and pillowy buns. The small but clean and modern space was packed - packed with people, but also with so much happiness. Almost everyone was smiling, laughing, and joking as they tucked into this feel-good array of comfort classics. Jajangmyun, jjampong, khan poong, gochu japchae... all of these traditional dishes sang. Even a simple plate of sauteed vegetables was delicious. And everything spent just seconds between being finished in the kitchen and sitting in front of us. Is it cheap? No, nor should it be. The ingredients are of the freshest, including the seafood.
