What the heck happened to this chain? I had my first P.F. Chang's meal in 2004 in Boston on a business trip, and I loved it: fresh ingredients, a nice mix of spices, friendly servers who mixed condiments at your table based on your preferences, lively crowd, etc. Since that time, it's been a slow-moving train wreck where service, cleanliness, and the quality of the food have declined significantly. The last time for me (and I mean the last time) was at the Hackensack location and it was positively awful: - Trash strewn floors and a dirty table - The Kung Pao shimp was extremely salty and the shrimp was not fresh - The server, although a nice person, had no enthusiasm for the job and it seemed like she was counting the minutes until her break or the end of her shift I suppose as long as they continue to pack the bodies into this particular location, management has no incentive to change. They have lost me forever as a customer and here is some parting advice for the brain trust/bean counters at PF Chang's: not giving a f*ck about anything other than the bottom line in the restaurant business is the kiss of death. read more

Disappointed, I love PF Changs. Here for lunch on a quiet day and the food took over 20 minutes. Both of our orders were Kung Pao Chicken!! Really ? Chicken was hard and dry. I am disappointed because I was craving this dish. I am from Los Angeles visiting friends here. read more

i came here to eat ! the mexican lady at the front said there is an hour wait at 6:20 p.m the place was empty it is now 8 she took my name and number and never called us ! horrible place read more

PF Chang's is in general, an expensive americanized "Chinese/Asian" restaurant with OK food. Our waitress was prompt, efficient, and kind. Notes: - Using the bar area gets you seats faster or right away, and you can order anything on the menu. Otherwise, there is usually quite a long waiting period for dinnertime. - Lettuce wraps (appetizer) are great! Slightly expensive for an appetizer, but has a hefty quantity of meat/tofu. You can also ask for more lettuce wraps. - Meals come salty. I recommend asking them to lessen the salt. - Popular entree is the Mongolian beef - very flavorful, although I wished there were more veggies than the scallions. - For two women, ordering the chicken lettuce wraps and mongolian beef filled us up very well, with leftovers to boot! read more

The food was amazing! What really made our second visit so incredible was our server, Greg. We were lucky enough to have him both times we visited and both times he was very attentive to our needs and wants, and ensured we had a fabulous visit. We cannot recommend this location enough. Make sure to go, and when you do, be sure to ask for Greg!! read more

Came here yesterday 10/18 and over heard an Asian male manager being extremely condescending to the bar staff, talk about unprofessional. The bartenders were awesome and friendly, you didn't feel pressured at all it was a calming environment until that one particular manager came up to the bar and made it awkward everyone was commenting how rude he was. read more

The food here is gross and made me feel sick to the stomach. I regret coming here with my family. The service was very rude and slow. The waiter would ignore my mom and I when we called out to him for something needed. We made sure to give him a lousy tip. We will not be returning. Guest Services below is trying to make it look like they are attentive to the reviewers here but I doubt it. You see the details I have provided (no, I don't have the waiter's name) so all you need to do is take it up with the restaurant in Hackensack *facepalm* read more

Terrible service, mediocre food. It's a pandemic. Order online, curbside pickup at a designated time. NOT! Waited 53 minutes. No employee curbside. "Call and let us know when you arrive, we will bring out food." NOT. Large crowd in restaurant not observing social distancing, looking for employees and food. So dangerous. One contagious person and 25 people exposed- for bad Chinese food! 53 minutes later the cold dull food in tiny portions arrived. This used to be a good restaurant. Portions got smaller, prices went up. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT, GET A PIZZA! read more

I don't know why the reviews are so bad here. Sure, it's no haute cuisine, but that's not what they are about. The prices are very reasonable and the food dependable. I have never had a problem with the service. Like all the restaurants in this area, the wait can be a bit long, but with a little planning you can get around that. Many chains have cheap meals but do nothing but deep fry or microwave frozen entrees (I'm looking at you TGIF and TGIF wannabes). PF Chang's has fresh food--really fresh food. I'm not a vegetarian, but I love ordering their veggie entrees because they are absolutely delicious. I also love that they serve mini-desserts in shot glasses. It's just enough sweet at the end of a meal. read more

Food is 5 stars, the only complaint is they changed the menu and got rid of most of the noodle dishes Lo mein - 5.0 Korean chicken stir fry - 5.0 Crab wan tons - 5.0 Spicy chicken noodle soup - 5.0 Service was great too. Love this place! read more

Awful. Slow service mixed with bland food. They ran out of white rice for god's sake! I remember this place being good but those days are long gone. Go elsewhere! Everything is cheap and low quality here, from the green tea to the filler in the lettuce wraps. read more

Didn't really enjoy P.F. Chang's. The wait was long (was on a weekday) and it was the same story for the food to arrive. I ordered a beef lo mein, which was both too salty and greasy. Also, they aren't very generous with their portions. The restaurant has a fantastic interior, but the dimness just ruins it. Wasn't very satisfied by P.F. Chang's. read more

Went here for lunch last week to support the breast cancer taco promotion. There were about three other tables having lunch. That should have been my first clue. Our waiter was friendly. After ordering appetizers for the table our waiter brought us dishes that were dirty and when we pointed it out he brought us new plates that were also dirty. Ordered sushi rolls, tacos and Mongolian beef. One person's sushi roll did not come out until after everyone else had finished eating . Although The waiter was apologetic about the wait, food was mediocre at best, dirty dishes and that everyone wasn't served at the same time is unacceptable ! PF Changs get it together! read more

I had not ever eaten at a PF Chang's before but I wanted a nicer sit down Asian restaurant, so I figured why not. It wasn't particularly busy and we were seated within 3 minutes. The food was just really, very underwhelming. The spare ribs were mediocre, nothing special, and the honey chicken was sour and the breading was disgusting. I had to send it back and ordered Chicken Lo Mein instead and it was edible, but the Lo Mein at the Hot Bar at ShopRite is better. The service was bad too, no one checked in on us and after 20 minutes of not being attended to, I asked a waiter passing by for a glass of water. I saw him a couple minutes after and multiple times after that. I never got the water. I really expected this to be nice and the food to be of good quality, but it was comparable to school lunch Chinese food. I still will be looking for good sit down Chinese Restaurants, but in the interim and when I want Chinese food, I will support my local small businesses because the food is better and they need our help. I hope anyone reading does so as well. read more

To all the PF Chang lovers...I just don't understand! Had a luncheon here today with a few friends and all 5 of us were 'unimpressed'...the service mediocre and the food...well, I like me some good Asian fare and I can't say I'd go back ! Having a close friend who delights me regularly with her homemade cuisine .. AKA Pi's Delight! perhaps I am spoiled! I had the OOLONG SEABASS and it was OK, not spicy or flavorful enough but OK. My friend had SICHUAN FROM THE SEA and expected a little 'kick' of spice, and while it was aromatic it fell flat on the spiciness (plus the scallops were chewy). The lettuce wraps were nice (but gosh how hard is that, even I can master a lettuce wrap!!! LOL) The serving sizes were more Tapas than luncheon fare---but the prices were true Westchester lunch...oh, well. I've been here before on a date...and wasn't terribly impressed then. read more

Kevin the bartender is the bomb at pf change in freehold. Great service and great food. Good atmosphere for lunches!!!

Made a dinner reservation for 6 people and even received a phone confirmation that morning. 45 minutes past the scheduled time, these two unprofessional hostesses seated us after we badgered them at least 3x. There was no explanation other then "we are waiting for the table to be free." Since we made a reservation, the table should have been free 45 minutes ago. Salty, fake Asian food. Complete joke of a restaurant chain. Don't make the mistake of coming here. Maggiano's two doors down is much friendlier and tastier. And if you need Chinese food, you'll get better service and food at a take-out. read more

P.F. Chang's has gone way down hill. We go there because it is one of the only gluten free Chinese food options but after today it will probably be the last visit. In a mostly empty restaurant they decide to surround out table with screaming kids making dinner unbearable. Ordered additional food to go came out with our meal. The topper they brought out our daughters birthday cake in candled the person who brought it out said she wish she knew while the server came out later saying he was looking for a candle. This may sound petty but it was a comedy of errors all dinner wrong...oh and the food has gone down hill as well but from the looks of other reviews it seems that is par for the course. Waiting to pay for the check and nobody to be found. read more

Food is always good. House ginger beer is awesome. I just wish they had bigger portions lol

My Landlord just took me to dinner here last night for my pre Birthday dinner. Of course I've eaten at numerous PF Chang's before (in TX and in White plains) but I have to say this one rocked. For starters we had the lettuce wraps, and wow do they know how to season that chicken stir-fry! Also, putting water chestnuts in anything is the way to my heart! Then of course you can mix the mustard, dipping sauce, and chili paste to mix it up after you've eaten a few plain lettuce wraps. We also got my personal favorite - the seared Ahi Tuna starter. It comes with a lovely salad and cucumbers - not that it needs that - just give me those strips of tuna and I am one happy camper. I could eat those as a meal any day! Speaking of meals - I had the Chilean sea bass with spinach as it is my Mom and Sister's favorite - and yes it was a decadent, beautiful, buttery fish in a gorgeous sauce, the spinach too was lovely. However, after all these flavors, I was envious of my landlord's simple, fresh dish of shrimp with snow peas and onions, so I kept trading him ;) I stuffed myself on the brown rice as well. On the wine note - the wine flights (you can choose any wine by the glass as a part of your $10 flight) come on an adorable tree holder! We chose the Chenin-Viognier blend which just went great with all of our seafood. Fruity, light, and semi sweet. Great meal! :) read more

My rating is really a 3.5. I sat at the bar for a Monday lunch, the server at the bar was awesome. She gave me her favorite recommendations which I loved. Happy hour menu is good, chicken lettuce wraps are nice. I got kung pao from lunch menu, superb and spicy! Drank the pear mojito, yum! And the salted caramel cake for dessert ! Poppinnnn! read more

Worst service. Curbside took an 1 1/2 hours to pickup for curbside. Waited another 20 minutes and then went inside to pick up my curbside order. The food was cold and bland. Went to P.F. Chang today and I was extremely disappointed. They make you make reservations in advance to help with social distance and when you get in there they still have you all sitting side beside the next person while having half of the restaurant blocked off with no one there. Then when you order you have to scan the qrc with your phone. Well my phone was on 5 percent and I did not have a charger and that is the only way you can see a menu and actually pay for your food. The hostess said they do that for contactless menus but yet there are 2 drink menus on each table....go figure. Then when it comes time to pay once again you have to go on the application and pay. This was just way too much. I will never come here again. read more

Lettuce wraps, spring rolls, cocktails and desserts all rock. Everything else is okay, but you can find better elsewhere. Appetizers and desserts are a great combo here! I adore that they provide you with real chopsticks, but service can be spotty. Decor is nice, dishes are awesome. Lots of menu choices. Food allergy people - they'll print a menu of things that are okay for you to eat upon request. Unfortunately, I found out that they cook nearly everything with oyster sauce so my shellfish allergy precludes nearly everything. I'm trying not too be too critical since I discovered they stopped serving my favorite noodle dish during my last visit! Mini desserts are a definite bonus though, just the right sized touch at the end of the meal. Make a reservation!! Even on a weekday this place can be busy. You can order takeout online though, and duck into the takeout window without anyone seeing you in your pj's ;) read more

My 1 star is only for the decor and bar drinks - other than that, why do American's or non-asians insist this place is some kind of authentic Chinese restaurant?! This place is the "TGIF's/AppleBee's" of Chinese cuisine. Ask any Chinese person and they will laugh in you face. Just come here to get drunk off the bar drinks - at least the liquor there is universal. read more

I'm giving a 5 star rating here despite the other bad reviews. We went for Mother's Day lunch and received not only standard expected service, but above and beyond service. Our waitress was very attentive and fulfilled our requests in a timely manner. The food servings were smaller than expected for a family style menu, but everything was delicious with no issues. The above and beyond came when the crumb cake we brought for dessert from outside was not easy to cut. The shift manager was very kind and accommodating, he helped us directly and cut the cake in the back for us. He checked in again with us after to make sure everyone was happy. Overall, the staff we did interact with was pleasant. Dishes we liked: Kung pao dragon roll, pork dumplings, Hong Kong sea bass, sesame chicken read more

P.F. Chang's - Miso chicken blah.... - Chinese Near Me - Hackensack, New Jersey

Now I'm a chef by trade aside from being a discerning foodie. So one with even the smallest knowledge of food would raise an eyebrow on giving P.F. Chang's 5 stars. It's not the food that earned them a 5 star review from me. It's the extreme competence they portrayed by hiring the waitress that served us. "Mara" was nothing short of spectacular. Not probably but certainly. She was was warm to the point where you felt you were being served by family. She was intelligent where you felt you were being served by a neurologist and professional to the point where you would feel the CFO of P.F. Chang's him or herself were serving you. Being in the restaurant business I actually was considering trying to poach her for one of my own employees which I couldn't do because I felt it would cheapen the outstanding experience we had. Especially since I could tell she was happy working there I felt it would of been in poor taste on my behalf. It's truly short of impossible to find staff and ESPECIALLY people like her. It was my girlfriends birthday and when she bought a dessert with a candle (as requested) she sang to her in the sweetest most sincere voice that it made us feel as if we were at our own kitchen table. We will be back and be sure to bring friends next time. I hope the hostess informed the manager of our incredible experience as I asked her. Great hire P.F. Chang's !!! Well done read more

I was alright overall. When my friend and I walked in, they said the wait was going to be 15-20 minutes which wasn't bothering us. Less than a minute we were seated which we were surprised. I took out one star because we were sitting for over 10 minutes before our waitress even came and greeted us. I know it was over 10 minutes because we were very close to just walking out. I took out another star because my food was very salty and my appetizer came out the same time with my meal, but they were so quick so clear our tables and give us our checks.... read more

I wanted to try P.F. Chang's since I was in the mood for Asian food and I'm sorry but what a disgrace. I ordered the Stir Fried Eggplant and the "take out specialist" who put me on hold for a few minutes, was not paying attention. He called me a sir. I am a female. He sounded like he was doing something else because he was in and out on the phone. He said you want it spicy and I said noooooo. Please no I can't have it spicy just regular but instead of the white rice could I get the fried rice (it's an upcharge of $3.00 and I wanted to add asparagus to the eggplant so it wasn't so boring. The entree cost $10.50 plus $3.00 for the rice $13.50 and I didn't know how much they were going to charge me to add in asparagus but I figured $3.00 max. The guy hangs up and gives me a total of just under $23.00. So as I was driving there I said to myself this can't be right. I called back and once again they wanted to put me on the phone with the take out specialist and I said no please, someone else, so the phone girl specialist lol, put me on the phone with the manager and it turns out he charged me for a full entree of fried rice. The new total came out to $15.61 so if I didn't catch that that would have been a $7 dollar loss for me. Now the biggest problem was the food. I was hungry at that point, I would have eaten crackers and it would have taste like lobster to me but this meal was sad. First off they made it spicy so I couldn't enjoy it. The asparagus was super hard and chewy I couldn't actually eat it. It was stringy like stalks. As you can see in the photo their weren't any tips either, just all hard stalks. Like that is sad. The eggplant was full of seeds. I had to dissect the eggplant to avoid the enormous amount of seeds. When I got home the sauce was already watered down (live less than 10 minutes away) so I decided to try and cook it longer so I could at least eat the asparagus. Then sadly came the rice. It was hard. I never had hard rice before and sadly they didn't bother to mix it in well as there were huge chunks of white rice all over. I literally ate only half the order. Couldn't enjoy the meal. I normally don't post bad reviews but this one was a waste of money and I didn't even get to enjoy the food. If it wasn't near closing time I would have returned it because that was just not right at all. Undercooked, spicy and just not what I wanted. The one star is for the good condiments that were included. That's about it sadly. Never again read more

Great food and good ambiance. Our waiter Emanuel was awesome loved the service very professional and knowledgeable give this man a raise.

What can I say the service is horrendous. I read the reviews on this site that the service was bad but we decided to go anyway. I figured let me make it easy and not ask a lot of questions, order our drinks and food right away. Our server was extremely rude, he put in our order and never got my drink. I had to get another waitress to get my drink. I guess he didn't like that so he never came back to ask how we were doing. In fact he made it a point to check on everyone else and skip our table. I guess he wasn't expecting a tip so he didn't care. He finally came at the end to ask if we wanted the check (did not ask if we wanted dessert). I still left a 20% tip because I don't want to add to the stereotype that minorities do not leave any tips. But I usually leave 30% if the service is good. If you think about eating here make sure to dress like you have a lot of money or else you may get the bad service. Craig read more
