I've been here a few times and this place never disappoints. I took my daughter out for a birthday lunch on Sunday around noon and parking was easy and seating was immediate. We love the ambiance here. The dark walls, red & gold colors & statues really exude an Asian aesthetic. The host who sat us, Kamila, was SO sweet, kind and helpful. Then our server, Cynthia, followed suit and was also sweet, friendly and very efficient! We ordered the Beef & Broccoli and Orange Chicken. And had the Peach Boba Breeze and Mango iced tea. The food came out in a timely manner and each dish was so delicious. The flavors are very distinct. IMHO, the flavors and textures of the food items are unlike any other Chinese restaurants we've been to. It really stands alone. At the of the meal, my daughter was given a free dessert for her birthday - she chose Key Lime Pie and it was brought out with a lively sparkler in a bottle. So festive! Have not been to a P.F. Chang's for several years. We were greated and seated quickly. The pace looked great with a beautiful decor and welcoming setting. Not dated at all. We ordered the dinner with a starter, anappetizer and main course with a choice of rice or noodles. The food was very fresh and tasteful. I had the crisp honey chicken and my wife the sesame chicken. I liked the sesame chicken the best because of the sauce. The other chicken was good as well. My only complaint was there were limited main coarse options. The full menu was not available. There were some other dishes available for an additional four or five dollars. I'd definitely go back but may skip this dinner option and order off of the main menu. read more

I order take-out from this restaurant on a regular basis. The portions have seemed to get a little smaller each time I open the containers. In my recent order they were unable to provide the Chinese mustard that I requested. I was told that they did not have any Chinese mustard in the entire restaurant. We used to love this place, but sadly it has become just another Chinese restaurant with limited menus and mediocre food. It still has a nice ambiance, but the food and service were below average last Friday night. Salty sauces and wilted or soggy soft vegetables, not freshly stir fried look or tastes. Fried rice used to taste fresher and better. The menus have become so small, and they dropped two of our favorite dishes: eggplant and pork fried rice. Our waiter disappeared on us, and we didn't get our drinks refilled until we were almost finished eating although our glasses were completely empty. Not great service. My husband and I walked in, never having tried this location We were sat right next to the door, with a screaming baby at the table next to us, the place was absolutely packed. As I sat at my table looking at the menu, I was absolutely shocked at the prices!!! Frozen Chinese food for $25+ is just absolutely ridiculous. I was trying to just find something I'd like to eat when I hear other tables sending their food back because it was frozen still, didn't taste good, and was too mushy? 3 separate tables sending their food back for the 10 minutes we sat there. Due to the chaotic nature of the restaurant, the lack of cleanliness, the obviously bad food, and the prices we left. The food was just okay. My nephew got the California roll and it did not say on the menu that it came with sesame seeds but they rolled it in them anyway. When we asked about remaking it.. they said they ran out of rice. They said they could take it away but he was still hungry so my sister picked off the sesame seeds for him. Then when we got the bill we were still charged for it. I would have complained but she was paying and didn't want the hassle. If I were a server and the food didn't come the way it was supposed to or the way the menu presented it... I would ask the manager if it could be taken off the bill. Besides that, the food was okay. The fried tofu was a little tough. The wonton soup was pretty good. The broccoli beef was okay but didn't really cover the whole plate. There were maybe 6-7 pieces of broccoli so of our party of 9, only 6-7 of us got ONE piece of broccoli. The chow fun was all right. It had a lot of soy sauce but not much either substance (meat or vegetables). The dumplings had a weird flavor I couldn't identify. Maybe it was some sort of seasoning I am not familiar with? Either way, my daughter did not like them. She ended up eating white rice that we had to ask for even though it's supposed to come with all the dishes we had ordered. My younger daughter liked her avocado roll. She asked for no sesame seeds since it said on the menu that there were some on it and it came without them. The restaurant is really too dark to see well. You can take pictures but they won't come out well without a flash. Overall, I now remember why I have not been to PF Chang's in over 12 years. We ordered the dinner specials from the back page (about $20 each) and over all -average at best was the outcome. The egg drop soup was okay, way too much brown rice and. It nearly enough protein. I ordered the vegetable spring roll and it was -not kidding - cold in the middle. This is hard to underhand as they are deep fried but there you have it. Our server brought me a new one about 8 minutes later and it was hot but also after we had finished the meal. This was a place we loved to come but today it was "just there," serviceable if you will. We went for the happy hour as advertised but it's only in the bar, they should have a big enough sign to read that false advertisement outside the sign says all day happy hour. Not cool if you sit at the bar the dumplings are $10 but if you sit on the floor same dumplings are $16 more, I couldn't sit at the bar because I had my kid with me. The orange chicken was bland, the pork dumplings were delicious I did enjoy those. Tastes like premade, fast food, one chicken dish was too sweet, shrimp and noodle dish were way too salty. Seemed like the sauce was probably premade, and in a plastic squeeze bottle, just poured on. The pineapple pieces could have been cut smaller to interplay with more bites and morsels but the flavor was so good anyway. Hint of lemongrass shone through. Was it worth $33? Hmmm. Yes and no. Restaurants have to make money but if they brought their price-points down in general, I think they would get more of the local crowd. The ambiance was nice. Clean, comfortable, and cozy. My daughter and I had a terrible experience at P.F. Chang's today. Ordered from the lunch menu: chicken lettuce wraps with egg drop soup. Plus a side of green beans. The soup came first, then they brought out the beans along with orange chicken (which I never ordered). I sent that back, and they quickly brought the chicken wraps--but they smelled awful. I asked them to take it back, and while they remade the dish, it was exactly the same. I managed two bites and had to leave it untouched. We felt sick soon after lunch. To make matters worse, the bill came to $60. They charged me $7.99 for the soup (which was supposed to be included in the lunch special), for the orange chicken I never ordered, and didn't remove the lettuce wraps from the bill even though I couldn't eat them. After sending the bill back, I still ended up paying $31 essentially just for string beans. Terrible food and even worse customer service--I won't be returning. read more

My wife and I hadn't been to P.F. Chang's in years, but were in the mood and decided to try it again, and were not disappointed. We started with the Lettuce Wraps and the Crab Wontons for appetizers. Both were really good and we enjoyed that the lettuce itself was crisp and fresh and perfect for use, and the sauce and chicken tasted great. The wontons were good too, and the sauce that came with it was delicious. We had the Crispy Honey Chicken, Mongolian Beef, and Kung Pao Chicken lunch specials which were smaller and shared all three. Of these, the star was the Kung Pao Chicken with fried rice. It was absolutely delicious. The Mongolian beef was good too, though not quite as special. The Crispy Honey chicken, which used to be my favorite years ago, was less successful and a little bland. We were there around 2 on a weekday, and so the restaurant was fairly empty and quiet. The lunch specials are served until 3pm and they seem like a good deal. Our server was attentive and nice. Overall, it was a nice experience with the food overall very good though not all the dishes were equally successful. read more

This location was amazing. After a long day at Legoland we made a reservation online and got there before time but they sat us down without too much wait. Let me tell you we've been to a few locations but this was the first time we ever received such great service from all the staff. The table was set beautifully with gold placemats, chopsticks and cute little origami swans to hold them. Apparently they do that for every birthday and anniversary but this is the first time we see that. Shocked about how bad PF Chang's gotten lately! We ordered the Spring Rolls, and they were frozen in the middle! Poor training of the cooks I think. We ordered the Chicken Lettuce Wraps. Now they use Romaine Lettuce instead of crispy Iceberg Lettuce they used to serve. Also they don't mix the dipping sauce at the table anymore. They are trying to cut labor costs at the expense of a good customer experience. Broccoli Beef used old pre-cut broccoli from a plastic bag. You could tell this was NOT fresh broccoli that was cut recently. The beef was chewy and overly salty. Again cutting labor and food cost at the expense of a good customer experience. The service was friendly but, forgot to bring the wine we ordered. I wish they were more like the Old PF Chang's. Very sad experience overall. I will not return. read more

Very Disappointing Visit -- Not Like It Used to Be My husband and I had dinner here today -- our first visit in a couple of years. We used to love this place and had many great meals in the past, so this experience was honestly shocking and very disappointing. Every dish we ordered was extremely salty. The Kung Pao shrimp was badly overcooked -- the shrimp were dry and not juicy at all, and the dish was with lots of peanuts. The beef and broccoli was also not good; the beef was thinly sliced and overcooked, nothing like the thicker, juicy cuts we remember from before. The biggest disappointment was the orange chicken -- there was barely any chicken at all. The plate was filled with over-fried batter pieces -- literally batter with almost no meat. On top of that, the portions seem to have shrunk to almost half of what they used to be, while prices have gone up significantly. For what we received, it felt very overpriced. The only positive part of our visit was the customer service -- the staff was kind and attentive. Overall, it's very sad to see a place we once loved go downhill so dramatically. We truly hope management improves the food quality because this restaurant used to be good. read more

Ugh Even Panda Express has better tasting food , not high quality ingredients but is not like PF Changs has better quality food yet $50 later leaves you disappointed. I ordered delivery from your Carlsbad restaurant this evening after several years , and I wanted to share my experience. While I appreciated the addition of white rice to the main course I believe most people may not like this option. It seemed as an effort to conceal your portion sizes. Overall I found the portion sizes to be quite small, especially for the price of $90 for 2 entrees, 1 noodle and 1 measly half portion of lettuce wraps. It was disappointing to realize that this amount of food could only adequately serve two people. I believe serving the rice in a separate dish would not only enhance the presentation but also allow for more generous portions of the main dishes, particularly the spicy Chang's chicken and shrimp. I made a reservation on Open Table for 7 on Christmas Eve at 4:00. We arrived for our reservation at 4. The restaurant was empty. The manager in charge told us that we did not have a reservation. He said they and open table don't talk which was strange because I've made reservations through open table at this location several times and it worked fine. Anyway he insisted they had nothing for us. He said the restaurant would be packed by 5:30. Well that was an hour an a half. The restaurant was empty. We asked if we could get two tables next to each other he said no he could give us two tables but they'd be far from each other which again makes no sense because the whole place was empty. He was rude and unapologetic. I feel that he could have at least tried. He literally stood there and stared at me when I finally had to ask him if there was anything at all he could do to help us out. I showed him the open table confirmation and he said It makes no difference. I personally own a business and am so tired of poor customer service. We all sit in traffic and spend our precious time and money at these places and they take our money like we owe them something or are bothering them while they're working. We left and went to BJs. I tipped the waiter $100 because he was kind and attentive and working on Christmas Eve with a smile. read more
